We discovered this sushi place (not AYCE) not too long ago. We appreciated that they stayed open during the quarantined. We also ordered ahead of time and food was always ready. You have to get the super philly roll (salmon inside and outside). The regular philly is too small. The salmon sushi is always pretty good and they give you extra cuts of fish. The ono was just ok. They don't char it like they do at other places. They have a variety of rolls. All had decent fish to rice ratio. The yellowtail collar was just ok. I like the one at Kiyora better (more meat and cooked better). The popcorn shrimp roll was good but not as much meat, mainly batter. If you are in yucaipa, this is not a bad place. Had a recent experience at Tuna Time for lunch with a friend who lives nearby. It was a little busy when we arrived, but there was a two top available and we were seated immediately. We ordered several rolls and all of the were REALLY tasty. Could be because I hadn't eaten rolls for a long time, but they were really good. One was so good that we had to order a second one because we couldn't get enough. of course, I failed to write the name down, so I've forgotten! I'll have to remember to post a tip in a situation like that! Service was very attentive and our glasses were kept full. I like that they bring you a little miso soup to start. They are opened now for dining inside. I went inside because the Yelp said it's open. They came up with a policy to close early for dining in and we were there 5 minutes before they decided we could dine. The sign states "open" and they don't make it clear when you call or ask that dine open doesn't mean till their closing time. For being away from all the malls, and hip part of town this, sushi restaurant is a hidden gem for locals who need a good sushi fix. I ordered rolls from their 50% off menu. These rolls can run between $3.50 to $7.50. I'm not sure if it's a happy hour thing or not, so double check on the pricing when ordering from this section. I ordered the "Mango Tango" and "Honey Spicy Tuna." Both rolls were under $7. The Mango Tango was ehhhhh. Not a lot of flavor, and definitely not worth the price for two oversized rolls. I wouldn't order it again. The Honey Spicy Tuna was a different story. This roll was pretty scrumptious. I shared it with people at the table and they agreed. It had a great sweet/spicy 1, 2 combo. I got to try a few other rolls from everyone else's plate. The ones that stood out at me were the "Red Bull" and the "Sexy Spicy Salmon Crunch" rolls. Just found a new favorite local sushi place and it's Tuna Time. Their name sounds like they should have a song. "It's Tuna Time, Tuna Time, Tuna Time. What time is it? ..." Why, WHY did I not try Tuna Time sooner!? I've lived in the area for 4 years and only just a couple days ago discovered this awesomeness. My husband and I actually found out about the restaurant from a junk mail brochure advertising local businesses that came in the mail. We've tried just about every other sushi place in the Redlands/Yucaipa area so we thought, "why not give this one a try?" We are so happy we did. There were 2 other parties waiting to be seated ahead of us, but we only stood about 5 mins before the hostess found us seats at the sushi bar. We just wanted sushi and there was some confusion about whether you place your order with the chef or a waitress. We asked the sushi chef if he could make us a couple things, he said yes. Maybe he took us to mean figuratively and not literally? Anyway, about 10 minutes after we sat down, the waitress came to take our order. They brought us edamame and miso soup just a minute or two after we were seated. We ordered: Mango Tango Cajun Tuna Sashimi Caterpillar Roll Rainbow Roll ...and one other roll I can't remember right now (it was good, ok!) All tasted amazing - full of fresh flavor. The mango tango roll is very unique and you should definitely try it if you like a tropical flair to your sushi. For great sushi, 2 sakes and a restaurant with a nice ambience, with tax, we paid $43. Pretty cheap, right?! Yep. Tuna Time offers a 1/2 off menu which features rolls you'd find at other restaurants for $9-$13. Tuna Time has them for $6-$7.50. The other side of their menu offers rolls specific to them, most for around $10-$13. Will certainly be back, a lot!! read more

DO NOT EAT HERE. My friend and I wanted to get sushi close by and decided to order Tuna Time because we have never been here before. We ordered 3 rolls and the garlic edamame. We ordered for take out and went to a near by park to have a picnic and we were enjoying our food and talking until we noticed there were small, coarse, hairs in all of our dishes. They were almost like beard hairs and neither of us had short black hair. It was absolutely disgusted and made us sick to our stomach to see all our dishes contaminated with hair. We immediately called Tuna Time that same day, I would say an hour after we picked up our food, and told them about the food they gave us. They offered me to have store credit only or to have my dishes remade but would not allow me to get a refund. Totally disgusting! Do not eat here. read more

We used to always do all-you-can-eat at other restaurants to get our sushi fix, which would be about $50-60 total for my husband and I. But now that we have Tuna Time we don't go anywhere else. The price of the half-off rolls is unbeatable. Several basic rolls are around $3, and fancier rolls on the half-off list are $7. We have tried a variety from the list, and our all-around favorite meal for the two of us is: Banzai Crunch California Dream California The California Dream has a lot of extra toppings on it, so we add some to the California roll and the four rolls together is just an amazing meal. We spend around $20 total for both of us to eat amazing sushi and feel satisfied... it is even cheaper than if we made sushi ourselves at home. There are many weeks that we go to Tuna Time multiple times because it is SO good AND affordable. As another reviewer mentioned, the shopping center does look a little run-down, but don't let that stop you from going in. The inside of Tuna Time is much nicer. They now stay open until midnight which is pretty cool, but even better is the Happy Hour menu. Two select sushi roles for $10.99 and sake or a large beer for $3.99.
