This was a very cool spot to try in Indianapolis! There was no waiting! Skye took great care of our party of five along with the surrounding diners. This location has indoor and outdoor seating options plus a bar. The decorations are very nice and the 'Kiss My Grits' wall was a great photo op for my group. We tried several different dishes and beverages. I chose the Salmon Gritcake and the Fried Green Tomatoes which were amazing! I would love to try more items on their menu when I return to the area. The beverage glasses had different images and quotes on them that gave us a few chuckles. lol There is street parking and also a parking garage behind the restaurant. They are located near Eli Lilly headquarters not far from downtown. read more

Cute spot. Seems like mostly a brunch place, but we went for dinner. Chicken was amazing. Service was acceptable. They had an Old Fashion flight I wanted to try, but I didn't want to drink it alone, so I'll have to go back. I had been to the Tupelo Honey in Dallas, TX, and I was so impressed by the food that it became one of my favorite restaurants. However, the food In Indianapolis did not meet my expectations. One thing I can say is that the service was great, our server was very attentive and tried to accommodate as much as possible. And I loved the spaciousness of the restaurant. Also, the layouts of the restaurants are consistent. The restaurants are brightly lit and it does give that country living vibe. It's super cute! However the food was not consistent. I started with the fried pickles, which were super salty and did not seem like they were cooked fully through because there was still grease dripping off of them when they came to the table. I also had them fried chicken sandwich for my main entree, a dish that I had gotten numerous of times. But this time the chicken breast was highly under seasoned. I actually had to ask for a side of ranch to get some flavor. To sum it up, I like the restaurant, I just wasn't impressed with this particular location. read more

The food is delicious! This was our first time here and we enjoyed ourselves! We went on a Sunday around 2:45p! We could tell that the brunch rush had just ended, as there were several tables that needed cleaning. We decided to sit in the bar area and the bar tender came over right away to grab our drink and food orders! We ordered the Biscuits for a Cause and the Fried Green Tomatoes as appetizers and the Life's a Peach Waffles and the Smothered Chicken for our meals! None of our food disappointed us! Both appetizers were so yummy! The Fried Green Tomatoes come on top of grits which was different but so delicious! The biscuits are so light and fluffy and that peach jam is insanely fresh! The Life's a Peach waffles were so yummy and so was the Smothered Chicken! I am not a gravy person, but this gravy was delicious! The Smothered Chicken comes with two sides. I chose Mac and Cheese and Crispy Brussels! Both were delicious! The Blueberry Lemonade is a must try for sure as it was amazing! Overall, we had a really great experience! One thing that can be improved is the cleaning of the tables once customers have finished and left! Seeing all the dirty tables was kind of an eye sore. Cutely decorated restaurant with great service and delicious food. I've been to the one in Greenville but this is my first time at this location. We were in Indianapolis for FDIC. We normally walk somewhere close but with the number is firefighters and vendors in town it was hard to get into a restaurant in our immediate area. I did a search and found this one. Remembering how good it was in Greenville, I suggested going here and the food did not disappoint. We started with the Biscuits for a cause. It comes with butter topped blueberry compote. It was so good and for him not to be a fruit eater to say how good it was, you KNOW it's good. I had the chicken tenders and side mixed green salad. He had the sweet and spicy fried chicken with the rosemary and parmesan crispy potatoes. All of it was so good. We will definitely be back next year! read more

While the parking can be tricky as there is no dedicated lot--the food is consistently tasty, made-to-order and flavorful. I've been here many times and even hosted my sweet pup, Frankie, and her puppy-pals here earlier this year for her birthday. Their patio is dog-friendly and have an adorable dog menu with bacon, peanut butter, and chicken. All pip meals are served on frisbees that you get to take with you! Pro-tip: Ask the staff nicely to rinse or wipe these off and also get a separate bag to snag em to go! I've had mocktails, cocktails, and sweet tea many times -- all sweet and delicious! I recently had the sparkling blueberry lavender water and wasn't a fan. My most ordered dishes are the Mahi (yum!) and the Power Bowl. The Mahi comes with at least one side (happy hour & lunch) and two for the dinner menu. The Power Bowl doesn't come with sides, but is hearty and great to take home for later. The menu has a little something for everyone AND you can't leave without the banana pudding (delish!) Overall, the ambiance, environment, and atmosphere are warm, inviting, and casual. They did not have the steak for steak and eggs so that was a let down. Got the burger, which I read was halal somewhere, and it was great! I love a good southern cuisine especially that talks fried pickles and fried green tomatoes. Tupelo surpassed my expectations with the freshness and the amazing variety of flavors in my food. I visited during happy hour on a Tuesday and I was the only patron. The bartender was very friendly and greeted me immediately. She let me know it was happy hour and presented me with 3 menus. I started with a peach & pineapple porch sipper. Nothing about it taste like either of those flavors and the sparkling water/seltzer tasted flat. The blackened mahi mahi is on the happy hour menu and served with one side. I got the bacon braised collard greens and added a side of crispy parm potatoes. Everything was delicious. The mahi mahi was cooked perfectly for me. A little past medium and full of flavor. The music playing is an upbeat mix played at a good volume not to be overbearing. read more

This is a nice Southern Comfort restaurant. Most of their menu is chicken based. They serve fried chicken, chicken sandwiches, and their specialty...chicken and waffles. They also have some very savory adult beverages and non-alcoholic beverages that come in mason jars. There is free parking on the side of the building marked by "City Way" signs. There is also metered street parking available as well as a parking garage, which I think they validate. The restaurant has a modern, hip and trendy vibe with a very nice dog friendly patio area, a full bar with seating and a small dining area. the bar has a television that was playing sports while I was there. The staff there is very friendly and helpful. It was tough for me to narrow down what I wanted to eat, but I managed to come up with something. I went with the Southern Chicken BLT with a side of fries. I got a Strawberry and Cream Soda to wash it down. It took about 10 minutes for me to get my food and it was absolutely delicious. The checking was perfect. It was packed with flavor and the drink....mmmmm...was so savory. I highly recommend both. I got a chance to try the brussel sprouts and yep, you guessed it. It was good too. This place is good for brunch, lunch and/or dinner and is worth checking out. You will find it right across the street from the Irsy YMCA and behind Gainbridge Field House. This was a great experience at Tupelo Honey! Parking is a little confusing as lots of the spaces say permit only or no parking at certain times. I wish they had a couple spaces for Tupelo Honey customers labeled. The exterior seating was so beautiful! The decor and colors they used made things pop. They carried that style inside and I loved it!! I loved the navy blues with the yellows. The waiter we had his name was Keenen and he was a great waiter!! He was so nice and prompt and is someone you want representing your restaurant. Great job Keenen!! I ordered the chicken and waffles and loved them! The breading was crispy and had a good flavor. I loved perfect sized waffles that were soft and fluffy. They have biscuits for a cause which were two biscuits with blueberry jam whipped butter, and honey. Add it all and then drizzle the honey on them. They were good. The money goes for Tupelo Honey employees in need. The brussel sprouts were also so good!!! Crispy and roasted perfectly!!! Hubby and I finally got around to having brunch at Tupelo Honey and enjoyed a beautiful breakfast on the patio! Service was excellent and we loved the suggested started of biscuits for a cause! The blueberry cold brew was delicious as was the shrimp and grits! Loved being able to add the eggwhites for extra protein to start the day! Hubby ordered the chicken tenders and they came out with a perfect crisp and he devoured the barbecue sauce and French fries! Neither of us had been to the city walk area in ages and loved how walkable everything was. I expect it is absolutely insane whenever there are downtown events, but other times (like today) were perfect to find street parking and enjoy our little stroll! read more

She was so attentive that she brought refills before we could even ask for them & it was only her first day. She was eager to answer our questions and very friendly. It was served over grits with a pepper sauce that were quite good. The tomatoes were dipped in a batter and completely coated different than how I make them but also very good. It was a lot of food. The banana pudding was the standout. It was fantastic and I love that you could order a mini version so you could just get a taste of dessert. Fantastic Southern ice tea. read more

We visited on Indy Swiftie weekend. Despite the mediocre welcome by the host desk, our waitress was friendly and attentive. We were excited to see two TS inspired drinks that came with bracelets! The food and drinks were fabulous (except for the mixed green salad that tasted fishy?!)! The atmosphere was electric and Tay-Tay's music playing added to the fun! We sat in the bar and had excellent bar service. She had a margarita and loved it. I had their turmeric elixir, which I wouldn't get again. There's seriously too much turmeric in it. I decided to re-visit Tupelo for lunch on a Tuesday morning. I was seated right away and was excited to try something new on the menu. Since I enjoyed their shrimp & grits during my last visit, I wanted to try one of their other shrimp dishes. I ordered the blackened shrimp and avocado po boy with a side salad (+ lemon herb dressing). My server gave me the option of fried or grilled shrimp, and I chose fried. Honestly, the shrimp wasn't fried like a traditional shrimp po boy - not heavy or greasy at all. I would've loved a little more crunch from the fried shrimp. The cream sauce (unsure of the exact name) in the sandwich didn't give off too much flavor. Everything else on the sandwich felt a bit plain, but I did appreciate how much avocado came in the sandwich. The portion was perfect and could be split between two people as a light lunch. read more

Assuming you are ok with that I think you'll find much to like here. I just went with the classic chicken-n-waffles which were two fried chicken thighs atop a thick Belgian waffle. Came out great ! Not too sweet or spicy with the chicken...just enough to make you want to keep going for another bite. Service was fast and friendly. My order was in front of me within 5 minutes.
