A group of six of us went out to dinner for my boyfriend's birthday. He is a big fan of vinyl, so I knew this was the place for us. The vibe was very cool and the decor all fit the theme. The place was relatively empty, but they only began dinner service a few weeks prior, so I don't think the word was out yet that they now had dinner. The cocktail list was small, but everything we tried was delicious. We split a bunch of small plates, and I think the mussels were the favorite of the table. The buffalo cauliflower were also a huge hit, even with the member of our group who does not generally care for buffalo sauce. My honorable mention is for the arancini. Our server was absolutely delightful and was patient with all of our rounds of small plates ordering. My only complaint is that they were out of the mushroom risotto, the only vegetarian entree, which I was planning to make my main dish. I had to substitute the bruschetta and cauliflower bites as my meal. As I mentioned earlier, the cauliflower bites were delicious, the bruschetta was just OK. I wanted to order order the Brussel sprouts, but I knew better - a member of our party had been before and mentioned there was pork in them (which is not included on the menu). It makes me wonder what other meats or meat broths were hidden in our food, but hopefully they will edit the menu in the future to include these things. TL;DR I wish them lots of success and I think it is worth a trip back, but maybe expand their cocktail menu and food menu descriptions to be a little more thorough for those with food allergies and dietary restrictions. read more

Food was excellent but beware if you don't like sitting at hi tops. Came in for brunch with my daughter and was shown a hi top table. When asked to move to a larger table the host explained that they were saved for larger parties. All of the 4 seat tables remained empty for the duration of the meal. The hi tops are small and uncomfortable. Typical St. Louis lousy customer service. Won't be back. read more

A hidden gem that has fresh quality food. An excellent place for breakfast or dinner. The breakfast items we enjoyed we the Leo, pancakes, flight of biscuits, southwestern wrap, avocado toast and steel cut oats. For dinner the catfish, turn burger, corn fritters, Brussels sprouts and Mac and cheese. The wine selection is excellent. Highly recommend Turn. read more

Vet disappointing. Walked in for lunch and was greeted by what seemed to be a manager. He sat us in the dining room with equal tables occupied and empty that had not been bussed. Yuck! He promptly went back to the bar and got back on his laptop. We sat and waited for ten minutes. We were not greeted by the server. We were not provided water. Ultimately, we decided to leave rather than serve ourselves. Upon putting our jackets back to leave the restaurant both the server and manager made eye contact with us and said nothing. Staff were great and so was the food! It's a pretty classy place that has a modern and simple decoration. We love the options of cocktail! The sangria which is white sangria was very good. I've heard good things about turn and had a good experience. The decor is simple and contemporary and the brunch menu isn't expansive. I was given a dirty glass, it had lipstick on it but that was instantIy fixed. I originally came looking to get the chicken biscuit but it was no longer on the menu. I had the biscuits and gravy which I enjoyed. The ingredients were fresh and I loved that my biscuit didn't get soggy under the gravy. My brunch mate had the mushroom and cauliflower soup but was not a fan of the taste. He instead got the caesar salad which is hard to butcher. Won't there fir a birthday with four friends. Good but small cocktails. The Ahi Tuna Nicoise Salad (I think that's what it was called) was AMAZING. The overly loud bad music was not. Seriously, it was ridiculously loud for a crowded restaurant. It's not a club! Turn it down, please, old people are trying to talk! The service was slow like most understaffed COVID era restraints are. Our server made up for it by being personable and professional. I never leave reviews, but after several failed attempts at finding a breakfast spot, TURN WAS AMAZING! From our phone call seeing if they were open, to which the man on the other end said "Come on in, we've been waiting for you!" to the great service from Michael, we were well pleased. We started with the seasonal pickles and if you're a pickle fan, you MUST try these, 10/10! Then we had the biscuits and gravy (stellar) and the arepa which was also fantastic. We took a weekday trip to St. Louis and stopped in at Turn for breakfast. My husband and I ordered the Turn breakfast (2 eggs, turkey sausage, biscuit or toast with micro green salad). The food was fresh and flavorful. My 7 year old is a picky eater and the owner-chef offered to make a plain pancake or scrambled eggs for him, which we were so grateful for. They also participate in GiftAMeal, where you take a photo of your food and upload it to the app, which results in a donation to a local food bank. Our server was Haylie. My husband and I went to brunch at Turn in a whim one day. I was quite happy with our last minute choice here. I had their take on chicken and biscuits and it was delicious. We split a side of bourbon cherry pancakes and I could have eaten the cherries for a meal alone!!! They were awesome. I'd been hearing raves about breakfast here but just learned about dinner. Two of us went before a concert and it was outstanding. The chef/owner greeted us and spent a lot of time chatting with us despite a busy room. They'd just started a Mardi-Gras-themed menu and we had the poached pear salad, black bean/shrimp soup, shrimp and grits and jambalaya risotto, finishing with bread pudding. All dishes were delicious, and the chef spiced the soup and jambalaya to my taste (very spicy). The jambalaya was nearly the best I've had, and better than any I've had in NOLA (though admittedly not a standard prep). Cocktails were also terrific, and the chef brought me an outstanding gin on the rocks (will need to return to catch the name) on learning I liked that, then modified with mezcal when we talked about that. Then it turned out to be free! Dessert ran a bit late given our concert, so they comped that too. I don't expect repeats of that, as prices are already very reasonable, but very nice touches. Finally, the atmosphere was very attractive and pleasant--modern but warm, with a changing wall of LP covers that's fun to look at. The staff were very friendly and the whole vibe was very relaxed--you could have a very nice romantic dinner there but it's completely unpretentious and welcoming. The food is great - Dave has been making brunch a mandatory weekly experience since his success at Cafe Osage - but more importantly the staff are attentive, kind and warm. And what a cool venue! More than anything, we go to Turn for the sense of community. Even with the many other eateries sprouting up across the city, it remains difficult to find that balance between good food and a place where everyone knows your name. Love Turn. My family was in town this past weekend and we decided to check out a new place for brunch. We were seated right away but sat without seeing our waitress for about 10 mins. They had just opened so it wasn't busy yet. We started out with the biscuit flight which was good size and delicious. All of our entrees were also delicious and came out fast as well. My only complaint was that our service was HORRIBLE. now, I understand if the restaurant is crazy busy and there's a ton of tables but that was not the case. Our waitress never came back to check on us once our food came and never refilled my coffee. We ended up having to ask the manager for our bill since the waitress didn't come back. I will definitely give it another go because the food was enjoyable, I just hope this service we received was a one time thing! read more

I've wanted to go for a while as I'd heard good things, but it was much better than expected. The restaurant was smaller than expected but very clean and casual with upscale touches of beautiful flowers on each table. The wall of album covers was a fun touch. But the food was the real star. I selected the L.E.O. - which is a smoked salmon alternative to eggs benedict and it was amazing! My bloody mary was excellent. The wait staff was friendly and efficient. My coffee never was empty. Thanks to Yelp for letting me know this restaurant existed! I finally made it in today to try their brunch. First, I love that they take reservations. Second, the parking is so easy - there's a lot right across the street in addition to ample street parking. Third, the ambiance and vibe here is so laid back and cool but felt elevated above many of the other brunch spots in StL. The vinyl record wall is a fun decorative focal point. Fourth, the food was delicious! We tried the Arepa and Turn Breakfast, and also ordered a few of the biscuits on the side - the poblano cheddar and buttermilk biscuits. They also offer a biscuit flight, which included the two we tried as well as lavender lemon and cinnamon swirl biscuits. The coffee was yummy; both the regular and cold brew. It looked like they had a full bar and some good cocktails. Can't wait to return and try some of them. Fifth, the music is fantastic. All the hits from Motown and beyond were playing, giving our brunch a really fun and light feel. Finally, the service was wonderful. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable and the owner, David, stopped by to see how we were enjoying our breakfast. I hesitate letting people know how wonderful this place is because I don't want it to be ruined in the way so many great StL brunch spots do once they catch on, but you are missing out if you haven't tried it yet! read more

I finally went and don't know what took me so long! Shared 3 dishes. 1. grilled romaine salad - yummy, smoking, just the right amount of dressing. 2. shrimp and grits - not a fan. 3. Teriyaki burger (the monthly burger for April) - OH MY GOSH!! This is the star of the show. So good that I'm going back again just to get this before the end of April. People only write yelp reviews when things are really bad or really good. Some parts of my experience at turn were really bad and really good. So, walking into Turn I see they are busy. As I am told to sit at my table and given a water bottle, we wait. And wait. And wait. We make eye contact with several staff members. WHO ALL FAILED TO GIVE US MENUS. I watched our very busy waiter greet and take orders from 3 other tables before he approached us and gave us menus... that was really bad. The host, busser, and general front of house staff failed us. Not to mention, the water bottles at turn are not easil opened without effort. I feel like the host or whoever sat us and whoever brought the water bottle should've given us a tip on how to open it... geeze! After that, we revived flat Pepsi. Moving on I ordered biscuits and gravy. It was REALLY good. The turkey sausage gravy and cornbread was amazing. Turns out everything is hit or miss at Turn. Both our chicken sandwiches were bland, fried, too big to eat, and overall disappointing. Many of these food options with pictures online seem better than they are. Overall My experience at turn wasn't good. I won't return and don't recommend. read more

Just finished up brunch here. The beer and cheese soup was great! Service was pretty slow which was odd since there were only a few people eating. I got the chicken biscuit which was okay. What an incredible brunch spot. I had a "biscuit flight" which came with four different types of biscuits and four types of spreads. It was phenomenal.
