My wife's SUV (2009 Saturn Outlook) was having issues with sporadic starting when she tried to start it. After a lot of research, my neighbor and I decided to just replace the starter... yea... its not that easy and the garage wanted to charge well over $500 to do the job, so we decided to purchase a starter and do it our self. Now, here comes the issue, we need a lift and we really didn't have ALL the correct tools to execute this difficult task. So we search around for DIY Garages with a lift... guess what... there are NONE in San Antonio to be found!!! Sure you can take it to a place that will use YOUR PARTS but they will perform and charge you for the labor... Well... Turner's DIY Garage ya don't have that issue!!! Now, its a one car small garage with a lift and a lot of clutter due to them being in the process of building a new building, but it did the job. This place saved me $100.00, which is what another mechanic wanted to top off my transmission fluid on my Saturn Ion which has no dipstick and it must be checked with the car lifted in the air. This place lets you do your own work and the owner or mechanic is there to help you if you need them. I certainly needed them to raise and lower the lift because I don't know how to operate those things. I did some research on YouTube and prepared and brought all my tools. But if you need to use their tools they have a whole garage worth. I was finished in about 15 minutes with the help of the owner. I have a leak on one of my half axles, which is connected to the transmission and I thought I was low in transmission fluid which could have destroyed the transmission, but luckily with the help of this garage My Level was actually a little over which can also damage your transmission so we let a little fluid out till it was just perfect. I highly recommend this garage if you need to borrow a lift for $20 an hour and do the work yourself or for a little more per hour they will do the work for you. read more

My car was stalling out, then starting up again. I took it in to Turner's twice and he said it could be a number of things, but while I was there it ran fine so he couldn't get a definite diagnosis. Didn't charge me anything either time. Finally it wouldn't start so I took it in, they diagnosed it, fixed it and called me to come get it in a few hours for less than $400. Turned out to be the distributor. Now it runs smooth and is so quit I couldn't tell it was even running when I first got in! Great service, great mechanic. I'll be going here from now on. read more

You can have him work on your vehicle or if you are car savvy you can rent a lift for only $20 an hour and he will give you free advice. There isn't enough good things I can say about this business. This place is awesome. Came here the other day to change out my rear drum brakes. As an aside, don't change your rear drum brakes. It sucks. But that aside, Chris had plenty of tools available to use and really went out of his way to make sure I had everything I needed - he and his assistant did everything from physically help with some of the trickier bits, to run out to the O'Reily's nearby (twice!) to get stuff I either discovered I needed (brake cylinders) or bought the wrong version of (rotors...), to even helping me bleed my brakes. Very fairly priced, and very helpful. Awesome place, great business - I'll more than likely be coming back if I need to do anything else to the Jeep. read more
