Delicious and well presented lunch and dinners with healthy choices. Jack is the owner and a true chef. He selects quality meats and fish and vegetables. His dishes combine flavors and textures that never disappoint. The negative reviews should be ignored. If the size of your party cannot be accommodated, there are other restaurants in the area, but none with the quality, service and atmosphere of Turners. April 2018: interesting place, we arrived around 10 minutes late for our reservation and were put in a penalty box, at least that's what it felt like ... we were seated within 10 minutes when our time was up. When seated, we were greeted by a very friendly and knowledgeable waitress. Our drinks came quickly and our order was taken efficiently. The food, 3 steaks and 1 salmon were prepared perfectly and delivered hot. The service and the food were excellent. We were surprised that the restaurant was not very busy on a Saturday night. Used to like going there, as the menu is different, and the farm to table concept appealed. But, 7 of us were going there for my birthday lunch yesterday . We knew we could not sit together, as that is their policy. So, when we arrived, we said could you seat us with 4 at one table and 3 at another? The owner Allison, said it is our policy not to accept groups of 7. We kept trying to convince her and then her husband that we were happy to sit totally apart from each other as 2 separate groups. She said if we had not known you were a group of 7, we could have done that, but now that we know, you are not welcome. Still nonplussed by that attitude. And they were not busy; they had loads of room. And the other thing you should know, if you want to share an entree, they charge $11 to hand you an empty plate, nothing on it. Have never seen that in all our travels throughout the world. Really wish I could feel differently about the place, as I had been the listing agent for her father's house in San Diego back in the 70's, and when I heard they were opening a restaurant, I took numerous couples there to get the word out and recommended them to everyone. I can no longer do that after the way they treated the 7 of us standing in front of them. But, if you know this in advance, hopefully you will have a better experience. read more

After calling at 4pm asking for reservations for a party of 5, and being told they don't take reservations for a parties greater than 4, we showed up 20 minutes after opening and was told there would be a 40 minute wait, at minimum. The restaurant had a total of 2-3 tables seated and the rest was empty. When I called, I was told there could be a wait because there were only two tables that sat more than 4 people. I explained to the person I was speaking with that I'd just had surgery and needed to minimize my wait time because I didn't have a lot of energy. At that time, the person I spoke with did not make me aware that we wouldn't be seated until at least 6pm because of other 4 party reservations in front of us, despite my transparency as to why I was trying to nail down as specific a time-period as I could to avoid being out too long. When I explained the situation to the manager, he told me it was his wife I'd been speaking to, and stated that he had overheard the conversation, negated what I said, and told my family to leave, that we wouldn't be eating there. We've been there several times, and try our best to make allowances for all of their various "policies", but this was completely and utterly ridiculous and infuriating. While the food is good, they certainly haven't learned that they are in the hospitality business and I will never dine there again. read more

This WAS a favorite restaurant. We will NEVER go back. No concern for customers and very condescending when asked why there were no masks on any of the staff. The server was rude and "in your face" when she sensed we were uncomfortable because of there lack of COVID protocols. Had a great experience here. Great atmosphere and terrific food. We have the Fried Green Tomato Caprese, and fried oysters for appetizers and both were amazing. Our entries were the Pork and Pancakes, the Filet and egg and the Shrimp and grits, all were amazing. This was our first visit and we will definitely be back. The bread pudding dessert was to die for. Drinks were perfect and wine list great. Truly a great restaurant from start to finish. Prices were good for portions and quality of the food. Saw great reviews on Yelp while traveling in the area. Took my customer out to lunch and it was wonderful. He had the fried catfish sandwich and I had the steak burger. The meal was amazing. Exceptional food and service! We were greeted warmly by the owners upon arrival and seated promptly with a reservation. My husband enjoyed the wild game dish (elk & quail) while I had the catch of the day - wahoo and my 3 year old devoured the grass fed burger. From the fried green tomato caprese to the house pretzel bread with orange infused olive oil and chocolate balsamic for dipping to the entrees to the chocolate cake with peanut butter milk for dessert.... it was an exquisite meal with unbeatable service and we will certainly be back. My wife and I are in town for a few days visiting relatives and today wandered around downtown Leesburg. I had seen the reviews about Turners and when we came across the restaurant we decided to try it for lunch, although it seemed a little quiet from the outside. When we entered, however we were told they were full and it would be a few minutes wait. Alison, who turned out to be the owner, was very gracious and accommodating, showing us to the bar area and recommending a fantastic red wine and a white which was just as fantastic. Tambra, the bartender, was delightful as well. When we got to the table, we ordered the Fried Green Tomato Caprese to share. It was sublime, with a ton of flavours coming through on every bite. My wife had the Cornflake Crusted Grouper sandwich, but without the Kaiser roll and I had the Grilled Tuna melt. They were both incredible. I still haven't figured out how they can serve so much tuna for only $11! Este was one of the finest servers we have encountered anywhere - affable, knowledgeable and professional. Sadly, although she is a professional singer, she wouldn't sing for us. I have seen the reviews complaining about not being able to get reservations for large groups. To those I say get over yourself. Not everyone wants to sit next to a large group, who simply because of their numbers, take over both the ambience and the service in a fine dining establishment. Thank you Alison and Jack for standing by this policy as well as the policy of serving fantastic food. My one complaint is that Turners is 2500 miles away from our home which severely limits our access! For those of you in the Leesburg area - GO! read more

We at there earlier this week. As usual the food and service were good. Though I felt my Scallops were a tad undercooked. My wife is allergic to nitrites and as such does not eat cured meats. She ordered the Fried Chicken, which is garnished with a dollop of bacon jam. We requested that the jam be left off. We asked for nothing in its place simply to leave the jam off the dish. Surprisingly we were told the chef will make no changes to his dishes and the meal was served with the bacon jam on top of the chicken. While it would be nice for a restaurant to make substitutions, I understand if They choose not to do so. But to refuse to leave something off a plate is pure arrogance, especially for health reasons. read more

Nice environment. Waited several minutes to get a table even though the place appeared half empty. Found out later they were only had one server and they didn't want to give her too many tables. From beginning to end the experience was not good. I had to walk over to the bar and order my own drinks for my date and I. The meat was so raw we sent it back to be cooked a little more. The veggies and other sides were unpalatable. I took a local there and she had nothing good to say about the place but I wanted to eat at the "best" restaurant in downtown Leesburg. Made our first visit here Friday 10/06/17 and I have to say it was a pleasant surprise. Service was great, Ryan are server explain the menu to us in detail. This made our choices for supper even more difficult. I ordered a Ribeye with potatoes and brussel sprouts. My wife had the panko fried chicken breast and craft bacon jam with zucchini and grilled mac + pimento cheesecake. We ended our meal with the white chocolate chunk bread pudding. Everything was delicious and we cant wait to go back. Chef Jack understands what a pleasant dining experience should be. This is a place you go to eat delicious food and have great conversation. You don't notice whats going on around you because there is enough space between tables that the noise level is so low. Very classy and romantic. Oh and by the way, all the people complaining about Turners not seating your large group its obvious you have access to the internet and their website where it plainly states your large loud party of over 6 will not be seated in this intimate, quiet, and romantic establishment. Everything was awesome including the chocolate cake with peanut butter for desert. The prices are reasonable for what you get. I've been here before and the food is ok. Just showed up today with 6 other people and were told that they could not accommodate groups larger than 6. There were like 3 people in the restaurant so we were surprised. I completely understand not seating people at the end of a table when you're packed but when you have no business?? They wouldn't allow us to split up the group or sit outside either. I personally don't understand it but whatever. Aside from that, I've been here twice before and the food was just ok. We only went today because four of the people in our party had never been before and wanted to try it. I wish them the best of luck but I don't think I will come back. read more

Was at Turners tonite for the first time and was blown away by the whole evening. The ambiance of the restaurant is wonderful. Perfect for a date night or even a night out with friends. We arrived around 4:50 pm for dinner and were told that they seat starting at 5 pm and do it in order of arrival and tables are seated every 4 minutes thereafter...so we sat at the bar until our turn to be shown to he table. This seating arrangement was a new concept for me and quite frankly we were put off by this or perhaps the delivery of it, not sure. However we went to the bar and had time to have a drink before we were seated, I had a jack and coke and my date had an unsweetened tea , out bar tab came to $10 and change. Very generous pour on the jack. Once seated we were quickly greeted by our server who was wonderful, we found him knowledgeable, kind and able to conduct our evening perfectly. We started with the fried green tomato caprese which was great. Had a chocolate glaze drizzle and warm mozzarella, the tomatoes were fried in panko. Definitely a appetizer we could easily share and is something I would order again. They bring fresh pretzel rolls to the table and they were quite good and served alongside olive oil and blood orange glaze. The glaze was very good albeit a little strong. For dinner my husband ordered the Pablo crusted fried chicken with pimento macaroni and cheese and roasted brussel sprouts. His meal was good. Honestly the Pablo chicken was just okay. It was simply chicken cutlets filed in bread crumbs and fried. Nothing special , my husband described it as upscale chicken fingers. However his pimento mac and cheese was wonderful , very original and cooked perfectly and the roasted Brussel Sprouts were great as well, excellent flavor. I chose the special which on Fridays is Prime Rib. You could get the small portion for $24 and larger portion for $27. It was WONDERFUL !!! The meat melted in my mouth like butter. Great flavor and perfect cook! Along with my prime rib was Bok Choy and 2 small roasted potatoes. I am not a huge fan of Bok Choy but it was actually quite good. I also had a side salad with ranch dressing which I was quite pleased by, the mix of greens and homemade ranch were very good. Even though there was one or two things I might change or tweak it was still a 5 star evening and Turners earned each and every star! read more
