Love this place! It's very charming and pleasing to the eyes on the inside. What a perfect place for weekend brunches with mom! Love their French press coffees and that they let you take it to go if you don't finish it. There's often a long wait, no reservations. There's coffee for you while you wait. There's not much room to stand and wait, and you feel in the way. But it's well worth it! They close at 3 PM. I haven't had the best takeout experience here, but I am more than happy whenever we eat in. I just love the Monte Cristo and the Cosmopolitan salad! read more

I have to look for the "plain", "basic", or "traditional" versions to find the expected breakfast dishes. I had brunch here with a good friend of mine and my fiance when we were in NJ for the 4th of July weekend and the three of us absolutely loved it! My friend had visited before and I trust her judgment so we decided to give it a shot. The food is fresh and delicious, the service is friendly and efficient, and the decor is homey but doesn't try too hard. The menu offers many different options, from omelettes to pancakes to sandwiches / burgers. I decided to go with the Lobster Benedict, as it had my name all over it! It came with bacon, avocado, generous pieces of lobster, tomatoes, and a hollandaise sauce. SO DELICIOUS. All of the things I love in one dish. As if it wasn't enough by itself, it also came with a side of breakfast potatoes and a fresh cup of fruit. I was in absolute heaven eating that benedict. I'm a huge fan of seafood benedict dishes (I'd previously had oyster benedict, salmon benedict, and crabcake benedict) and lobster was a perfect combination. It was also very fresh and light and didn't upset my stomach, as eggs sometimes do. My fiance ordered a Roadhouse Stack sandwich (Double stack grilled cheese with a smokehouse aioli, jack and cheddar cheeses, thick crispy bacon, caramelized onions, avocado, tomato and baby spinach leaves) and loved it as well. My friend ordered blueberry pancakes and they were such a generous portion that she took some to go as well. My friend also ordered a frappucino and it was so beautifully crafted and presented! My fiance also ordered some coffee and they brought out the french press right to the table. Color me impressed. I went to turning point for the first time with my family. We had a party of 7 and with a baby. The wait staff was amazing. We had a mishap with one of our meals due to an allergy but our waiter was great and we quickly got a new meal. Definitely was a great breakfast and all around great place to eat! read more

The atmosphere at this place is really nice and the staff was extremely friendly. They have a nice, diverse menu that even the pickiest eaters would be hard-pressed to complain about. The problem is, everything was almost devoid of flavor. I had chili and the red pepper/bean dip and, with the exception of consistency, they tasted identical--completely bland. My husband had one of the skillet breakfasts and it wasn't even seasoned with salt. I don't know if it's this location (LOTS of senior citizens around here, which would explain the lack of seasoning) but I was definitely unimpressed by this place. Definitely not worth the 1/2 hour wait. If I'm going to wait that long, I'm going to Mariner's Cove in Manasquan. read more

Where has this place been all my life? Just got back from our first breakfast there after reading about The Turning Point on Yelp. It really lived up to the positive reviews and then some. The drink selection is amazing: lots of mixed virgin concoctions with fresh fruit juices and coffee combos. Husband had a chocolate shake and loved it. But I skipped the great drinks to save room for the food - and it was a wise decision. Shared the popeye skillet: potatoes, spinach and selected poached eggs, though you can get the eggs anyway you like. It was divine. Had ordered the becche e banana French toast, but waffles came instead. I would've been happy with the yummy looking waffles but husband insisted in the right dish. That too was a wise decision as the French toast was possibly the best we've ever had: strawberries, banana, blueberries and a few small scoops of vanilla mascarpone with a warm strawberry reduction sauce. Describing it does not do it justice. Our friend had the western omelette and said it was good, but didn't rave like we did over the skillet and French toast. The service was exceptional and we dined al fresco on this cool early summer morning under a canopy. Can't wait to go back for blast or try lunch. read more

I've gone to the Turning Point in Brick for many years but it's never consistent. Today I got a take out order and they totally forgot one meal, didn't give salsa for another, only gave 6 chips with another, and the soup was so thick I had to add water. So was the salad dressing. The chicken is always bland. Sorry but I won't be returning. read more

Visited 08/31/16 Great place for breakfast and brunch. (only) Interesting menu which can be served with French press coffee. A bit pricey, but the Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee is supposed to be "the best" coffee in the world. And... while it was good, it didn't WOW me like I thought it might. (much like Johnny Walker Blue label is WAY over rated and over priced!) But they do give you a large urn of the coffee... enough for at least 2 cups each. Anyway... the wife opted for their Lobster eggs Benedict, which was clearly delicious... a bit 'rich' perhaps. (But still yummy!) I had their Pavo Cubano, their take on a Cuban sandwich. (Made with ham, roasted turkey breast, Swiss cheese, tomato, pickles and honey mustard pressed on the grill. ) This is a sandwich I don't have often, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Ones I've had in the past tended to be be a bit dry, but this one was not at all. Another great place to stop on the way to or from the shore, although you will probably have to wait. We stopped by on a Wednesday, a little after 12 noon and had a 20 minute wait. Service was great too... very friendly and attentive. read more

My bestie treated me to lunch at Turning Point during our recent visit back east. What a gem! It's very unassuming exterior, tucked away in a strip plaza, belies a lovely ambience inside- akin to a boutique brunch spot you might find in Key West. The hostess greeted us warmly, located our reservation, and brought us to our table as we passed a delicious-smelling array of coffees freshly brewing. Lots of great options! We couldn't decide between a sandwich or salad, so we ordered the 1/2 combo of each. My friend chose the cranberry pecan chicken salad with a grilled chicken panini and I went the unlikely but equally delicious combo of Santa Fe Chicken salad and a Monte Cristo. The portions were massive- and so delicious. The plate presentation was beautiful, and each meal was very carefully crafted. Super fresh and bright flavors, right down to the tender white corn and homemade balsamic cilantro dressing. We also loved the iced coffee special, it was rich and very refreshing. We had our leftovers wrapped, and regrettably were too full for dessert- maybe next time! Although they were very busy, the service was excellent, attentive and not rushed. This place is fantastic! The food is always amazing and fresh. This is the best restaurant around for breakfast or lunch. They have premium coffees and teas which taste delicious. The chai tea latte is the best. We have never had a bad meal here. The prices may appear a little high, but it's well worth it. The portions are good and as I mentioned the food is fresh. There is a wait at the prime times of the day, but seems to move fast. I can't say enough about this place if you haven't tried it yet definitely stop by, you won't be disappointed. read more

Been hitting this location since it opened. Also we both hold Turning Point Perk Cards. Never a problem until the last visit. Wife ordered plain pancakes which still came with partial toppings. That is not all the toppings offered in a pancake special on the menu. Sent them back and got what turned out to be burned pancakes. Cut around burn & was left with more than !/2 the order inedible. Probably should have sent them back again but was a little adverse to doing that, Was pretty busy but service was timely so I don't think the We're Shorthanded bit would be an excuse. Got the $2 perk discount and e-mailed this complaint but no response. read more

The food was great the first time I went there, but the last couple times the eggs were a bit dry and the sauce wasn't as tasty. So I switched it up and got a sandwich instead and it was great! This place is amazing!! It should be a definite stop for anyone in the area as they turn out a breakfast that is unmatched by anyone else around. They put together delightful combinations of eggs (skillets), pancakes or waffles. Nobody in the party was disappointed by the selection or the actual meal. The other nice thing is, while you can order regular coffee which comes in a carafe in plentiful proportion, they also have a fantastic selection of special coffees that they serve in a french press, brought right your table! Ahh the Turning Point. One of the few places that has consistency towards it's food and service. I've been coming here quite often usually on the weekends to enjoy some breakfast. The morning can be hectic and busy, which leads towards anywhere from a 20-30 minute wait. If you don't mind waiting, this place is for you. The inside decoration and ambiance remind me of a beach home. All of which contain light colors and a sea themed trinkets lying around as decoration. BUT the most important aspect aside from decoration is how clean this facility is. The bathroom is very clean, and that is a great and unusual indicator that the restaurant itself is very clean. Oddly, the coincidence to clean bathroom and overall facility go hand in hand with each other, and that to me is a plus. Now, the most important piece of this review, the actual food itself. Before I even order a main dish, I always end up getting one of their french press's. They have a great selection of coffee, which I usually stick to the African beans, such as the Kenyan AA, other ones such as the Hawaiian, I pass. I'm not a huge fan of flavored coffee, but their selection is nice. So coffee gets an A+ in my book, it's way better than ordering "coffee," from who knows what beans they get it from. If I'm feeling like a man and ready devour a ton of food, regardless of my diet. I order the Ranchos Los Huevos, as it's probably the largest meal they have. It's a mish-mash of potatoes, sausages, peppers, inside a tortilla topped with an egg. It's delicious and filling, but also extremely "carby," except of the eggs. They have plenty of other clean eating options which is another thing I applaud about this place. Overall, the service, food quality, and price are great reason to keep coming to this place. There was more of us than the room available at a table yet she told us to sit there when the bigger table was clearing up? Too busy or didn't care? I've been here a few times but was never overly impressed. There's always a long wait and I feel most of the lunch options are overpriced for what they are. Until I discovered their breakfast menu. I ordered a cup of the Sinful Delight coffee, which was amazing! Caramel, mocha, hazelnut flavors all blended together. What's not to like?? I even brought a pound home. To eat I got the Big Easy Benedict. I consider myself a Benedict connoisseur, and let me tell you this dish is definitely worth the price and wait. Perfectly sweet cornbread topped with Creole-spiced peppers/onions/avocado and chorizo, with the most perfectly poached eggs. So creamy and not rubbery at all. Delicious!
