Seems to be worse every time we've come here. The service was ok. Waiter took about 5 minutes to come to our table. That's no big deal though. The Brioche French Toast is nothing like described. Menu claims egg and vanilla batter for that French toast, but it tasted like bread thrown on a grill with no batter. Very disappointing. The Mushrooom Swiss omelet had no flavor whatsoever and lacked, well, mushrooms and Swiss. That was scattered sparingly throughout. The texture of the omelette itself didn't look appealing. They flatten the omelette here. Boring taste and boring presentation. The potatoes were the only thing that had seasoning. Sadly it was too much salt. The one thing I did live was the freshly squeezed orange juice. That was delicious. I don't believe we'll try here again. Five times and it never seems better. Not worth it. Sadly. read more

We always love Turning Point and rarely muster up the courage to bring our 3 young kids (4, 2, and infant) to dine in. Fortunately, we are lucky enough to be able to walk to Valley Square and pick up coffee and treats. Even when we don't patrol Turning Point, the manager is exceptionally nice and goes out of her way to say "hello" as we are passing by. Thanks for being so awesome! I was so excited I found this place, somewhere different with a lot of good options & wanted to try it for my husbands birthday brunch with one of our best friends. We had to wait 1 1/2 hours. I was never told or aware they did call ahead seating but we overheard people who did this had to wait almost just as long. I was a little annoyed after we finally got seated there was a coffee shop attached to the restaurant we could have had coffee at while we waited. * we would have never waited that long but 45 minutes turned to 10-15 more etc. The restaurant was very clean and well taken care of but the unfortunately for our table the service had some hiccups that were taken care of my a very nice and willing to rectify the issues. We ordered breakfast nachos for the table, we did enjoy them. I ordered eggs benedict but they were completely smothered in hollandaise sauce, making my dish less than appetising. Luckily I had the nachos before hand. My guests both ordered chicken and waffles, they said it was good but nothing to really bring them back for. It could be we happened to go on a very busy day or staff called out but that was not the way I planned on spending my mid morning to early afternoon. read more

Still love this place! It's a great even during covid days! We just went here again today and it has not changed a bit! Just a little with covid precautions but quality is still the same! Of course we got the peppermint hot chocolate which was decadent as always! I got the avocado Benny smash, it was delicious! Great portion, eggs was perfect, Hollandaise sauce was flavorful and tons of potatoes! My husband got the huevos rancheros which again one of our favorites! We have leftovers which says a lot! My daughter has grown to love the chicken and waffles. They are so fluffy and the bacon pieces make all the difference. We really wanted to like turning point, unfortunately it was a huge let down. We chose here because we were in the area and the reviews were mostly positive. Upon arrival there was a 25 minute wait, no big deal. The hostess was flat out miserable though. We were sat roughly 30 minutes later. The hostess sat us with out silverware. We had to wait 15 minutes and our server told her on 2 different occasions we needed a set up. We were also sat with dirty menus. Both of our menus could have be wiped down along with our table. It was sticky and still dirty. Not a great way to start brunch. With all that being overlooked we went ahead and ordered. My wife went with the Ironman meal and I opted for the rancheros. My wife's omelette was extremely overcooked and beyond dry. She ordered cheese but none was given. The pancake was also overcooked and burnt on one side. My rancheros were pretty good. They put potatoes in theirs, it was a nice touch. With that said I wouldn't have done tortillas. They were horrible! Not even warm and just thrown on the plate. I couldn't find much of the chorizo, not sure there was even any in there. The eggs were cooked to perfection and that was pretty much the highlight of the dish. My wife and I split my dish since hers was inedible. The coffee was good but not great. The cornbread was also dry and easily forgettable. Our service was great! She was so pleasant and apologetic. It wasn't her fault. Sadly we will not return. Not worth the wait for the food one bit. read more

A restaurant that specializes in just breakfast? Yup, sign me up! I've been dying to check out Turning Point for awhile now. So we decided to check it out after a Saturday morning goat yoga session. I was with a group of 6 people and we didn't have a reservation. We were told it would be a 20 minute wait. I must note, it did seem to take a bit longer than that, but the food was worth the wait. The menu is EXTENSIVE. I'm not kidding... literally an entire page is devoted to just coffee. I'll be honest, the menu was pretty overwhelming. My friends and I found it a little hard to read as there was a lot of text and a lot on each page. After sifting through the menu, I finally decided to order the big easy benedict. It was delicious! So flavorful and a big portion. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the cornbread that it came with. It wasn't bad by any means but I probably would have preferred toast or an English muffin instead. My friends seemed to enjoy their meals as well. A couple people got coffee which we were told came with free refills. Just something to note if you do end up getting a cup of coffee. The meal was cheap, after splitting the bill it came out to around $15 per person. Not bad! Service was good too. The food came out in a timely manner and our waitress was attentive and friendly. It was a good experience overall. I would recommend Turning Point to others and I would come back again the next time I'm in the area. read more

Food 3/5: large menu with plenty of options, the eggs were fine and the breakfast burrito was good. Presentation was reasonable, portion sizes were on the small side. Drinks 3/5: the coffee is a little weaker than I usually make it, and the cocoa is nothing special. But the beans are high quality and it's nice that you get your own french press. Service 3/5: friendly greeters, easy to call ahead, waiter checked in a few times, but it took awhile to get his attention Cleanliness 3/5: table tops were cleaned, covid safety rules followed pretty well. I've been to this restaurant multiple times, at least 5-6 times, but every time I come the portions just seem to get smaller and smaller. I ordered the Eggs Benedict, I believe around $10.25 or $10.95? Don't exactly remember the price. It comes with the main dish which is cornbread, eggs, and vegetables with potatoes and a side of fruit. The portions definitely got a lot smaller than what it used to be. My friend said that the cup and the water smelled a bit funky, like chlorine. It was probably the dish soap they use to clean all the plates and cups, but it was a very distinct smell. It also took us about 15 min to get our waitress's attention. We even put our menus on the side to indicate that we were ready to order, but she kept passing by our table. Also the wait tends to be a bit long here too, so a tip is to call ahead in advance. Even after the call ahead we still waited an extra 15-20 min on top. This was our first visit to this restaurant. Unfortunately there was 30 min wait. Once seated , our waiter was pleasant and offered water. I ordered 1/2 Full Monty sandwich with 1/2 Chop Chop Salad, along with a cup of Mushroom soup. My meal was okay. My salad was a salad , yes the salad was fresh. Service was good and server was very attentive. Upon leaving, I went to the ladies room. Let me tell you the bathroom was very very clean. I also appreciated the the handle on the door upon leaving. Instead of gripping the handle to pull the door open, there is a handle placed about eye level ( I am 5'2") that you use your forearm to open the door and not your hands that you just washed. I'm surprised this place isn't super close to 5 stars! My husband and I had a great experience here! Everything felt super safe with all things covid going on. We sat outside, everyone was wearing masks and kept distance. Then the food! The food was so good!!! My husband had the Big Easy Benedict and I had the Low Country Shrimp Hash Bowl. Both dishes were filled with flavor. They were decent portions too! I almost had self control and saved some to box up and take home but that self control did not last long! The Turning Point is very consistent in quality of food and atmosphere. We always enjoy the ambiance and haven't had a bad meal at this or any other Turning Point location. I suggest to get any one of the skillets as they're all hearty. Eggs mixed with savory mix-ins served with a buttered English muffin and a small side of fruit. The coffee, served in a press is extremely fresh and flavorful and my wife's absolute favorite. Much to my surprise, the pancakes and waffles although topped with decadent toppings aren't overly sweet and don't leave you feelIng gross, stuffed or like you need to visit a gym immediately. The only down side is the potential wait, on a Saturday or Sunday morning the wait times can easily stretch over an hour, but fear not you can put your name on the waitlist by calling, although it's not a reservation Per se. Update: Jan 2018 Had our first bad experience here. From the waiter being inattentive and clueless to the food being below expectations. The southern chicken and waffles was disappointing on many levels. The waffles turned soggy immediately, the gravy was too buttery and very bitter. The chicken itself was good and the cranberries did add a bit of sweetness that was welcome considering how bitter the gravy was. The price at $14 was also way more than this dish was worth, even if it had tasted perfect. Our waiter was inattentive and oblivious, bringing a pitcher of water but no cups. I came here the first day I moved to Pennsylvania, and I've been back fairly often since. Today I came in with my partner and had the best experience yet. We stopped in for breakfast this morning a bit after 9. We waited a few minutes for a table. They said 5 to 10 minutes but it was more like 3. After a look at the menu, we ordered the French press Kenyan coffee. Delicious. This was served with a small carafe of cream and crystallized sugar on a stick. I would come back for the coffee. We finally opted for two of the waffle dishes and decided to split them. One was savory and the other sweet. The savory one was the chicken and waffles. The chicken was tasty and was placed on a large Belgian waffle with a spicy sausage gravy. This was sprinkled with crispy bacon and dried cranberries. The gravy was a bit scant considering the size of the waffle. The sweet waffle had a small (1.5 tablespoon) scoop of sweetened mascarpone, chopped bacon, a few spiced walnuts, and a drizzle of caramel sauce. Both of these dishes were quite good but were both lacking enough sauce. The Belgian-style waffles are of the lighter, crispy type. This is not my favorite style as I prefer one with more substance. Service was designed to move folks along, not savor the moment so don't come here for a leisurely breakfast or lunch. read more

We visited for lunch a few days ago, and were happy to find everything running smoothly. Seating at 11:30 AM was quick and we were cordially greeted by Samantha, who took our order and answered questions along the way with a warm, sincere smile and a perky demeanor. The selections-- we both ordered the "Wilbur" skillet (a mix of potatoes, crushed bacon, avocado, diced tomato, jack cheese & 2 scrambled eggs along with an English muffin) and cold brewed iced decaf coffee-- a bit pricey but so worthwhile. I'm very surprised by the negative reviews on both food and service. My mom and I are major foodies and this is our favorite spot for Sunday Brunch! I've been here many times, both at this location and the one in North Wales and have had nothing but great experiences. I definitely recommend calling ahead to check I'm wait times or make a reservation since they're always packed regardless of what it says on yelp. Their coffee is excellent and they've got lots of fun flavored lattes and oil scented French press coffee. Service is usually excellent though when they are really slammed it can be on the slower end. But the waiters and waitresses are always so friendly, accommodating and apologetic if they're extremely busy. I got the I Can't Believe They're Vegan Pancakes and couldn't agree more with the name. They were delicious and definitely didn't taste like they were missing eggs or buttermilk. So yummy! My favorite thing to order here is the Big Easy Benedict. It's delicious with the cornbread! Other great menu items are Grande Huevos Rancheros, Salted Caramel Waffle, Tuscany Omelette, and and their El Fresco Quinoa Bowl. And my go to latte is the Nutty Irishman. Just like their North Wales location, very underwhelming. Even for take away, the wait is entirely too long. The food is good for the most part, but sometimes it's just "too much". Far too sweet. Since we had such a bad experience with service dining in person in NW we have never bothered here. We come back because it's convenient when you have an itch for breakfast. Then had the 4 egg white omelette omelette, with tomatoes, Feta Cheese and a finely chopped fruit salad . It also had a cinnamon pita on the side. Very good. I was in the area and hungry (what else is new) and really wanted some breakfast/brunch. I saw that this place had good reviews so decided to check it out and Im glad I did! The one part of the place is a little coffee shop area which is cute. The prices of the coffee are the same as Starbucks, a little pricey. I did like that my iced cold brew coffee had coffee ice cubes in it. I sat down to eat after getting my coffee and they put a whole pitcher of water on the table for you so the waitress or waiter doesn't have to keep refilling your glass which is nice especially being someone who drinks a ton of water. I ordered the classic eggs benedict and was not disappointed. It had fresh ham and the eggs were cooked perfectly. There was also a perfect amount of hollandaise sauce. Great service provided in a great ambiance with the choice of outdoor or indoor seating. The food however needs work! The chicken and waffles looked fabulous however the chicken was extremely dry! Definitely microwave reheated grade. The Quinoa Bowl also looked spectacular however it was EXTREMELY spicy beyond the point of it being enjoyable. The Turning Point really knows how to do brunch. The food presentation here is absolutely stunning with vibrant, fresh colors. Definitely Instagram worthy. Show up a little early or make a reservation if you don't want to wait for a table. I also like how it's connected to a coffee shop if you want some caffeine to go. For appetizer, I had the avocado artisan toast. It's so simple, but tasted so healthy and delicious. The toast came with plum tomato slices, avocado, lemon zest, drizzled in olive oil and sprinkled with black peppers and sea salt. I will definitely start making this for breakfast at home. For main course, I had the Big Easy Benedict, which came with cornbread (instead of usual English muffin) and cajun hollandaise. I pretty much ordered this because of the cajun hollandaise. I wasn't a huge fan of the corn bread, it's way too soft to be paired with the sauce. I like all the flavors though. Next time, I think I'm gonna opt for plain old English muffin. Overall, I had an amazing dinning experience here. This just became my new favorite brunch destination.
