My normal Italian place was closed today so I decided to try this place. Sadly, the food was pretty tasteless. I got the burrata bruschetta which had alternating bites of garlic or nothing. I placed a delivery order through Yelp. Agnello scottadito (lamb chops and roasted potatoes) and burrata e pomodorini bruschetta (burrata and cherry tomato bruschetta). The lamb came with a side salad and bread. The food arrived on time. No napkins or utensils. Lamb chops: Nice sear, cooked to the right temp, great cut of meat. The side salad was not the best or the worst, although it was larger than most side salads. Bruschetta: Tasted fresh. Not exactly arranged properly for finger food. The burrata and tomatoes were spread across the top of the bread, but they weren't placed on top of individual pieces, they were just sort of all over the place. That's probably in part because it's delivery. Tuscan Hills is somewhat more expensive than most for delivery. I get the feeling that the dine-in experience would be closer to 5 stars. For delivery, it's still a decent choice, but it's not necessarily great value. read more

I've ordered twice from this restaurant (fresh pasta with vodka sauce and shrimp, calamari fritti, chicken parm, and fresh pasta pomodoro) and it is stellar. Our new favorite Italian restaurant in Queens based on the strength of the fresh pasta and mouth-watering sauce alone. I can't wait to actually GO to the restaurant! I had leftovers of my pasta with vodka sauce and shrimp, and the calamari fritti, so I crisped the calamari in my air fryer, gently reheated the pasta in the microwave (and the sauce didn't break!) and mixed the two together. My mouth is watering remembering the contrasts and textures and flavors. Even reheated, everything tasted bright and fresh and delicious. An Italian restaurant with service so minimal it felt like we were getting fast food. Not exactly always a bad thing; just a fact. I gave 3 stars for the one delicious special fish stew dish they had. Entrance: Four of us came here on Mother's Day night; the restaurant was about 80% full. The waiters were scrambling around, one briefly greeted us and we were standing there until the manager came by to ask how many people, then left again, returning about 10 minutes later to hand us over to the waiter ushering us to our table. Menus came out promptly, they filled each of us a glass of water and gave us plates and utensils. Initial glance: The atmosphere itself was nice and cozy. A few decors here and there, bathroom in the back, small tables mostly for 4-8 people. When we ordered, the waiter that took our orders did not speak much English and had to keep coming back to verify our orders (which is good on his part but it made us a bit uneasy). We already knew what we wanted which saved us because when we asked him about the food he could not understand anything we were saying. The food came in a reasonable amount of time (around 15-20 min) and it was okay. The only dish that stood out was the signature fish stew dish. The stew was amazingly the perfect spice and mix of seafood. The other three weren't particular tasty nor horrible..a bit dry. Shortly afterwards we asked for the check then left, no goodbye or any goodnight from the staff (just an observation). Including 4 entrees, the check came out to $87, excluding tip. Came at 8:55pm on a Monday to grab a quick bite after we got the kids down. It was my wife's birthday we knew exactly what we wanted. We get there and they tell us they are closed. I look online and they close at 9:30. What a waste of our time. Say you close at 9pm if you don't want to work past 9. Don't ruin it for the customers who check your website and go out of their way to eat out just to be denied. read more

The staff is very friendly! -Calamari appetizer is always crisp, delicious. -Burrata is ok- not as creamy as one would hope. But it's pretty when brought out to you (looks like a flower with the proscuito) -seafood risotto was flavorful. -caciucco is great if you're in the mood for seafood, broth has bold, full flavors. The plate for 1 can feed more than 1. It's a great presentation with the stew encased in baked bread. Large portions, plenty of leftovers to take home. Ordered and picked up the food since their on line service did not accommodate the gift certificate that we received as a gift. Horrible The eggplant parmigiana was simply eggplant thrown into a microwave and smothered in olive oil . Greasy and no flavor doused with a sauce that was brown . Horrible. I tasted one bite and threw the rest out. The soup was a few beans and again greasy and had a big hunk of bread in it. Yes there is a style of soup like that but the bread is served outside and you add it yourself was like eating a natural sponge from the sea. The dessert was stale. Take it off the menu. The fish thank goodness was fresh but again if I wanted micro wave food I would have gone to a fast food place were I would not expect garbage at high prices. I will pay for good food, but not the stuff we got and now we have more on the gift certificate. The original chef or the owners must have changed. Have some pride. Horrible. read more

Friendly atmosphere. Pretty romantic, dimly lit. The deal to get would be the calamari fritti for the family style menu. It is worth it to eat even with 5-6. This restaurant is really good, Claudio our waiter was exceptional, and gave some good inside regarding the dishes. I wanted a side of tomato sauce with my meal for dipping and this was homemade from fresh tomato's not canned. Most enjoyable! Pasta Norma with eggplant and a special order of Veal Milanese came out fabulous. All fresh ingredients and great service made this a real-deal. I was looking for an Italian place with both pizza and pasta options and this had plenty of both! We were given fresh bread and olive oil with an olive topping to start. My friend got a pasta with pesto and shrimp and I got the Aglio e Basílico pizza. The pizza took some time to come out, but it was perfectly warm and yummy when it arrived! The dough was lightly charred and the ratio of the ingredients were clearly made by a skilled chef! I had no problem with the wait, but the owner insisted that we get a dessert on the house because it took some time. We ordered a tiramisu, and it was so good! I was expecting that because we came in the evening that the dessert would not be fresh, but it was the opposite! I don't normally write reviews unless I really like the food/place. I've been ordering from this restaurant for 3 years and have been so happy with the food. The past two times I have been greatly disappointed. The portion sizes have become ridiculous while the prices have gone up. I called and complained but the person was very defensive and not understanding. It's a shame when this happens to such a great restaurant. I no longer recommend this place. After a recent move approximatly four blocks due west, Tuscan Hills remained in the neighborhood, still on Queens Blvd but currently behind a bit of unsightly scaffolding due in no part of their own. Within my powers and travels, I've rarely reviewed restaurants of this caliber and/or of comparable quality for lunch, without a return for dinner and an update -- On It. Five tables were sitting and eating and enjoying, one with two noise machines in high gear. Two Tuscan bread slices within the starter bread bowl. [growing up, my grandfather would cut this exact Tuscan bread that was about three days old - into one inch squares, set them in a bowl, pour black coffee atop, add sugar and eat -- ahh the memories] The Cesar Salad was just perfectly balanced between ingredients, I wish each lunch and dinner could begin with Cesar. The Romaine lettuce crunched with each bite, a testament to the freshness. My one minor grey area - and one current star grading less than possible - is that thirteen dollars for a lunch special at a Northern Italian restaurant - doesn't offer pasta. Soup or salad - I went Cesear in typical fashion - // - Sandwich or Pizza. With no attempt to nitpick, henpick or just bust chops ^come on -- we all do it occasionally^ BUT: I have a sandwich spot and I have a pizza spot. The Chicken Pesto sandwich was spectacular, real ground up Pine Nuts - a pounded breast that delivered such impactful taste and Italians talking in Italian behind me, such a beautiful moment. Just ate dinner here tonight with my dad and my husband. We easily made a reservation through Yelp. We enjoyed everything we ordered. It was all delicious! We started with the fried calamari and the shrimp and avocado salad (which also includes beans, carrots, tomatoes, onions, and lettuce). For entrees we ordered the chicken parm with penne (which wasn't on the menu but we were still able to order it), the short rib ragu (off the specials menu), and the tuna steak with potatoes and salad (also part of the specials). For dessert we ordered the affogato and tartufo. The tartufo was made differently than how it usually is. Instead of a hard chocolate covering the ice cream was covered in hazelnut and cocoa. I hate leaving a 1 star review, but I have to be totally honest. Ordered from here for the first time based on someone's recommendation, but I was sorely disappointed. When I got the delivery order after an hour of waiting, the packaging was the messiest I've seen for a delivery order. Multiple plastic bags, seemingly one for each dish, which is a total waste of plastic, and they were all tied together in a knot. Luckily there was no spillage. Spent almost $100 on two pasta dishes, burrata, meatballs, and a cheesecake. But the pasta dishes were so small I was shocked it was over $20 per dish. They were also very bland and watery. The texture was really off. The meatballs did not taste good either... I've had better meatballs from the frozen kind you microwave from Costco. The burrata was much too dry, and the prosciutto on it tasted more like ham; it was very odd. The tortellini was okay, but again, I've had better store bought or frozen ones. The lobster ravioli had zero lobster and not even lobster flavor, and there was literally only 3 raviolis in the dish. And they were average sized. I love cake, but the cheesecake was shockingly flavorless. It was like they forgot to add sugar. I would not order from here again. read more

Our favorite is sphagetti with tomato sauce - the tomato is so fresh and yummy, pastacio di pasta - pasta with white sauce with italian sausage, fresh mushroom, and spinach. This is terrible to give 1 star to a place that used to be my fave go to! Did management change? I always order the grandma style small fiammata pizza. First of all the price has gone up to almost $20. You used to get a pretty big pie for less than $15 during the pandemic but it seems like now every time I order this, it keeps shrinking! Just received my order through DoorDash. Dasher texted me after 10 minutes of waiting at the restaurant and informed me that the restaurant had told them they needed more time to prepare my order. When the order had already been placed and confirmed with them through the door dash app. Already waited about 20 minutes so there was really Nothing I could do but wait. After being told they needed 10 more minutes the dasher finally received my order and took about another 15 minutes to deliver to me. When my order arrived I could tell everything that was prepared was rushed out. The small cheese pizza i ordered was undercooked, Although the crust looked cooked fully the sauce was cold and cheese was slop and room temperature as well. It also was falling apart when attempted to be handled to eat due to the undercooked dough and heavy amount of sauce. Completely inedible. My French fries were also undercooked and every single one was soggy and limp. Lacking flacking and seasoning. My order of Spaghetti with Black Pepper and Oil was mediocre and my dessert of " Italian Donuts " labeled zeppoles with Nutella and orange zest were just small dough balls fried ( undercooked ) drizzled wit Nutella. No powered sugar no donut or zeppole shape and no orange zest. They were chewing and disgraceful. Overall this entire establishing is mediocre and disgraceful to the Italian cuisine. For a place called " Tuscan Hills " in an area like Forest Hills, Queens you'd expect it to be way more impressive and have quality food but that's far from what this place has to offer. read more

We held a wonderful baby shower at Tuscan Hills last weekend for 24 people. Everyone at the restaurant were very helpful and accommodating, giving us a full hour to decorate the space. The good was excellent, served family style: two salads, pasta, chicken parm, and salmon. If course their delicious bread with olive-infused oil. Plus Mimosas, sangria, wine, soda, and coffee or tea. We brought our own cake and they served it beautifully. It could not have been nicer, and all the guests were very pleased. The price was quite reasonable. Such a hidden gem! I have walked by this restaurant several times and have been meaning to try it and I finally did, only via take out. I ordered the Margherita pizza and a bolognese lasagna. OUT OF THIS WORLD! I was shocked at how delicious they made the simple pizza and lasagna. The pizza crust was not too thin or thick, crunchy on the outside with soft inside, and the cheese sauce ratio and mixture just blended so well. My child's small size pasta with marinara sauce tasted pretty off and the partner of the restaurant didn't even bother to remove this small charge from the bill. The clams and mussels are so sandy they are not edible. They really should eat not just taste their own food to know what they serve to customers! This being the second time we dined here, I was optimistic it'd be better than the experience we had in April (didn't review because I wanted to give them another go). The word that resonates when I think of Tuscan Hills is underwhelming. We had a reservation, and expected to be seated quickly, but that wasn't the case. Its a busy restaurant so thats understandable. The three of us were seated at a cozily situated table near the kitchen window. The menu included a page of chef specials, which excluded the price. My brother ordered the lamb; the tilapia for me. My mom got the Pollo Al Mattone/Grilled Chicken dish. Considering the lamb and tilapia were chef's specials, you would think they'd put a little more love into it. The lamb was overdone and hard to eat, which my brother mentioned about three times (the poor guy never complains about anything so that says a lot). My tilapia tasted reheated, I say this because the middle of the fish was colder than the outside. My revived fish also wasn't very palatable. I tried to put on a good face, because my mom seemed to really be enjoying her chicken dish. I want you to try to imagine the awkward ambiance of our table. Three separate dishes all contorting our faces in satisfaction, resentment and confusion. I'll allow you to figure out who was who. The waiter that was AWOL for more than half our meal pitched drink specials to us. I took a look around and noticed everyone in the restaurant had a glass of something in their grip. Maybe this could save the night, good 'ol alcohol. I ordered sangrias for the table, cause thats a drink that's hard to mess up of you're a restaurant that carries some pretty good wine selections. I was wrong, they took us for fools and watered down the sangria. Either that or it was the powdered kool-aid with a splash of boxed wine. Enough, lets get to the bill. The "Chef's Specials" were ridiculously priced at $30 for the lamb and $28 for the tilapia. I was livid, how can you charge so much for clearly stale food that was reheated. *Exhale* I paid the bill, and we walked out feeling confused emotionally and satiated-ly. read more
