I stopped by this body shop to ask whether they could repaint and properly match the orange-peel texture on my liftgate area. Unfortunately, my experience with Sandro was very disappointing. Instead of listening professionally, he came across as condescending and dismissive. He made comments that felt like he was mocking my desire for a high-quality, factory-looking result, and repeatedly implied that my standards were the problem. He also told me that orange peel is part of the original surface of the car part itself, not something created through the paint application process. Based on my research and conversations with other paint professionals, that explanation does not seem accurate. Orange peel is affected by the spraying process, materials, gun setup, technique, sanding, and finishing -- not because the raw part is manufactured with that texture. He also suggested that if I wanted the orange peel to match, I would need to replace the whole part, which did not make sense to me. When I asked questions and explained that I wanted the repair to blend correctly with the surrounding panels, he kept saying things like "does this really bother you?" and implied that if I wanted quality work, I simply needed to pay more. I completely understand that perfect paint matching is difficult and that high-quality work costs money. I was not asking for cheap work. I was asking whether they had the skill and willingness to do a careful job. Instead, I felt talked down to, dismissed, and treated like my concerns were unreasonable. Eventually, he said they could not help me because my standards were too high and walked away. Based on that interaction, I would not feel comfortable trusting them with a detail-sensitive paint repair. Professionalism and honesty matter just as much as the repair itself, and unfortunately this experience gave me no confidence in either. read more

Best body shop in all of OC! It has taken me a while to post a review, sorry staff!! I recently asked Tustin Acura where they recommend getting work done, and they directed me to Tustin Body Works. I took my car in and had Sandro inspect and let me know what work my car needed. He quoted me an amount, and did all the work with my insurance company. The reason I am so grateful for Sandro is because my insurance wanted the cheapest costs possible with using an aftermarket piece, but Sandro worked his magic and was able to get the part from the original manufacturer. I was involved in a minor accident and had to get some cosmetic work done, even though I had small cracks and scratches paint the technicians still had to take off and replace grill/emblem. The work took about 2 weeks which Sandro would call and walk me through the whole process. It looks as good as new!! Thank you Sandro!! read more

I was recently a victim on a DUI hit & run. This shop was part of the insurance companies "approved" shops. As an approved shop, they guarantee the workman ship (I'm sure most shops do that anyways). The reviews on Yelp weren't that great, but the shop not too far from my job. I called them and scheduled an appointment for the estimate. When I arrived, the gentleman that greeted me was super nice and friendly. He introduced me an adjuster who would do the estimate. The adjuster wasn't as friendly and energetic as the first guy. He took several pictures and measurements of all the damage. The estimate was based off of the 2022 model as their system did not have the 2023 yet (its already July) They said I can leave it and they can start working on it that day. I called my insurance company to see if they were ok with me to get started on it (they were) and made arrangements for the rental car. I told the employee at the front desk that I would leave it that day for them to start working on it. My insurance company made arrangements with Hertz - the employee at the desk said that they normally call Enterprise as Hertz dont answer the phones. Well, today they did pick up and would be on the way to pick me up. During the repair process, I received 1 update from the repair shop (to let me know the estimate went up once they started working on the vehicle and saw the additional damages). Ok, no problem, I'm only paying my deductible. My insurance called me a couple weeks later to let me know that the car is estimated to be repaired on such date. The next business day, I called the shop to see if they can give me an approximate date so that I can request the day off to get this all taken care of. The adjuster and I went in circles about when I can pick it up - it was more complicated that it had to be. Long story short, I arranged to pick it up the next business day. When I arrived, the car was sitting up front - all dusty and dirty. I walked in and the receptionist was out that day, so they had to run the paperwork and payment themselves. The friendly guy that I met the first day helped me with payment. After that was all taken care of, the adjuster showed up and walked me out to the car to show me it was repaired. Told me to wait about a month before I applied any chemicals or did anything to the paint. I asked if it would be ok to apply my HOV decal. I wasn't given any details on what was replaced or repaired. If OEM parts were used. I've dealt with 1 other body shop (you can see it in my other reviews) and I was provided with updates frequently and on the day of the pick up, I was provided with details (yes, I know its all in the paperwork too). My car was returned to me cleaned and spotless (as it should be). This was just an Ok experience. read more

The best part was the exceptional service provided by Ferdinand. Being a female, it can be intimating going to any repair or body shop; However, Ferdinand was extremely helpful, informative, caring and best of all provided overall personalized exceptional service. No issues and very happy with the results with Tustin Body Works and the other shop. What set Tustin Body Works above the other shop is the customer service. Gonna make this a quick review but THANK YOU to the team at TBW for fixing up my vehicle in less than the quoted time. I was a sad victim of a parked hit and run and decided to handle it via insurance. I was recommended to this place and Colin took no time in handling the affairs and inspecting the vehicle. They were ready to do the repairs for me immediately but I wasn't ready to hand the keys over. I had no difficulty dropping the car off based off of my schedule and admittedly I gave them very little time to squeeze me into their schedule so I'm grateful for that. They have a partnership with the local Enterprise rental car shop so if you need to be picked up in order to get there, they'll schedule that for you. The weird part is that there are closer Enterprise locations but the one that does the pick up is the one off Edinger so just be mindful of that when making your reservation. My car was finished in 4 and a half days, where I was originally quoted one and a half weeks! Since I was out of town, they let me store the car until I was able to pick it up. Thankfully they're open until 5:30 PM and I received my car in no time. Since I dropped it off during covid, I was really excited to see that they had completely covered the driver's side with a plastic cover along with the wheel and the floor mat. Lastly, the warranty lasts for as long as you own the car. But after looking at the vehicle, I can definitely speak to its excellent craftsmanship. Thank you!!! (44/100--2020) read more

I have been to Tustin Body Works quite a few times and they are amazing to work with. I initially found them 10+ years ago when our insurance company provided them as a option to get repairs for a previous accident. They did an amazing job with a complicated, pearl white paint blend and I have been coming back to them ever since. Sandro has been spot on with quoting, pricing, and timelines and the crew in the shop does great work. Fast forward to today and 3 or 4 cars later, I have another pearl white car that has really bad peeling/flaking on the top roof rails due to faulty dealer primer. This review is a little overdue. I got my car fixed here in January/February of 2018 after being in a car accident and having my passenger side rear quarter panel and light destroyed. I was told by my insurance to bring it here and I wasn't too happy with the end results. The paint didn't match. It looked very dull (my car is cobalt blue). Additionally, I used to have a grey towel across the rear seat to protect the seat from damage, spills, etc and when I got my car back, there was a Burnt hole in the rear seat. I do not spoke, I don't let anyone else in my car who smokes and I'm very specific about keeping a clean car so this damage was caused while at the shop. Additionally, whoever moved my seat while at the shop, failed to fix the carpet they messed up. I was pretty upset about my car but I was going through training at work and could not afford to lose my only means of transportation AGAIN for the next few weeks so It was never fixed. Helpful and friendly Karen offered to carry a box of my belongings from my car, which is totaled from an accident, to the office and to my friend's car. I was injured from the accident and it's wonderful to see someone initiate their helpful hands. She had all the paperwork ready for me to sign and explained what I was signing. Then, she put my copies into an envelope neatly and placed in my bag for me. Little gestures show great customer service and I appreciate it all! The engineer, Aaron, who was assigned to work on my car was quick! He called me the very next day of his determination and he will write the report to my insurance adjuster. If you want an auto body shop that will offer you good customer service, be efficient and go above and beyond; I would recommend this place. I had a hit and run occur to my car a few weeks ago. Luckily the damage wasn't too severe. My insurance gave me 4 options for body shops and after looking at all the Yelp reviews on each place, this body shop seemed like the best one. I'm so glad I chose this place. I took it in on a Tuesday morning with Sandro helping me. He called me a few hours later, giving me the timeframe for when I could expect this to be done, which was the following Tuesday. They gave me a call on Friday afternoon and said I could pick it up that day before they close; 2 days earlier than expected not including the weekend! They were able to order all new parts from the dealer and get it done fast. My car was gorgeous and Sandro even touched up some scratches for me free of charge. Excellent service, I highly recommend! My Ford Fusion's rear passenger door was badly dented & scratched as well as the surrounding door frame. A friend recommended Tustin Body Works and I'm extremely glad she did. When I stopped in for an estimate, the GM Ray quickly provided me with a quote & was very thorough breaking down & explaining the costs, which I found much more reasonable compared to quotes from other shops. I dropped my car off the next day & was pleased when Ray contacted me later that day already providing an update on my car. Communication exceeded my expectations during the whole process! My car was ready before the quoted completion date. The replaced door looked like new and the paint job matched perfectly! I was a little concerned there would be scratches on my tint from removing and replacing the windows, but I didn't find a single mark! When it comes to writing this review, I am pretty much speechless at how awful my experience with Tustin Body Works was. I believed that they would be a good company to work with since they are contracted with Mercury insurance, boy was I wrong. I was in an auto accident and had side/front end damage to my 2013 Explorer. When I took my car in, I was greeted by Chris, let me make this clear that Chris was WONDERFUL it was everything else that was horrible. My car was at this body shop for about 9 days, when it was ready I went down to inspect my car, it was very clear that the hood was not aligned with the fender, this was very visible. If they would have taken some time to walk it over before I arrived they would have seen this. I then waited while they corrected this issue. Not more than 10 minutes after I leave the body shop I am driving down the freeway 75mph, hear a very loud popping sound coming from my SUV. I pull over on the side of the freeway to realize that the side panel of the car/window (about a 3.5 foot long metal piece) just flew off my car. This is a HUGE mistake to whoever installed this "new" piece and a huge liability to the company as this could have caused an accident and damaged another car. This is unbelievable as you don't expect that pieces will be flying off your car after it was done getting repaired. In complete shock the next day I took it straight back to the body shop where they were completely speechless about their carelessness and the lack in the quality of their work. Never once did I get a phone call from a manager apologizing. This was extremely inconvenient as then I was late to work, had to get a rental car etc. I would never have trust in this company to fix my car again, they obviously don't care about the work that is performed and just want to get their money and get the cars out of there as quickly as possible. Oh, I forgot to mention that they "test" drove my car on the freeway the second time to make sure no parts came loose. This shouldn't have to be done if they had faith in the work performed. Not only did they "test" drive it, they went 31 miles and left my gas tank on empty with the gas light on. If this isn't a demonstration on how this company performs business I don't know what is. I am thankful for Mercury for understanding and letting me take my car to the ford dealership to double check the work that was performed by Tustin Body Works. A sincere apology and some gas would have been the least this company could have done. read more
