10/27/24 Zach, Coco and I met up with my friends (another couple) for lunch at Twelvemonth. We sat outside since we had Coco and it was a nice day too. The staff were super friendly and brought the menus + water bowl for Coco right away. This is what Zach and I got: - Korean friend chicken sandwich (his) - Radiatori pasta (mine) The pasta was really good and its an interesting shape. There was enough sauce to cover the pasta so nothing was dry and the pasta tasted fresh. The tater tots that came with the chicken sandwich were perfectly crunchy with soft potato inside. The chicken sandwich was well seasoned and not dry at all. I can't remember what my friends got, but their plates were clean by the time our double date was coming to an end. I always appreciate businesses showcasing the creative, delightful world of plant-based cuisine! This restaurant is perfect for a date night and has an extensive patio for warmer summer nights. We thought the food prices were a bit steep, but not out of the ordinary for downtown Burlingame. Plenty of parking lots nearby. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very attentive. We didn't love our mocktails, and we were surprised that our appetizers (a bean dip and beets) came out intentionally cold, but it didn't turn us off of the restaurant entirely. We ordered the two plates the waitress recommended, the Radiatore pasta and the Korean fried chicken sliders. These were boring, nothing special. Red pasta with pesto, meh. Fried chicken sliders also meh. I can just put two impossible nuggets in some bread at home and call it a day. Overall, super disappointing. Our waitress was also blah. I don't like writing reviews like this, but I also don't want anyone else to experience what I did. I waited 11 minutes to be greeted by a server. If that wasn't bad enough, it was 19 mins before water was poured at my table. And the icing on the cake was being charged $3 for a side of ranch, that appeared on my receipt, but no awareness of the extra charge when I asked for a side of ranch. The ambience and decor and the setting here is really what attracts you to this place. It looks really high class upscale and it just is a great place to sit and chill and have a drink. The food itself is decent. It's an all vegan place. The tater tots are really great and crispy. All of the other foods are decent as well. The drinks are really good. The old-fashioned is one of the best old-fashioneds I've ever had. My only gripe with this place is that it takes a long time for food to come. The bartender seemed annoyed we even sat at the bar. She was juggling making drinks and taking our order at the same time, didn't know the menu, and had to ask us again what we ordered. Just felt like we were an inconvenience. The food came out weirdly fast, and the crispy mushrooms were stale and lukewarm. For how expensive everything is, the quality wasn't there at all. While we were there (less than an hour), FOUR separate tables came up to the bar to pay because their servers never came back with checks. The staff clearly seemed overwhelmed and unsupported, which made the whole vibe feel off. The space is nice, but nothing about the service or food justified the price. I give it a 4 stars for ambience, decor, and service but food would be more of a 3/5 for me. It is beautiful and very elevated. Went out with some friends to celebrate a birthday. The place was pretty filled on a Friday night but there was no wait because there's a lot of seating. Our waiter was quick to serve us and was very kind the whole night. We started our appetizers with bread, dumplings, and lumpia. I didn't care much for the bread, but both dumplings and lumpias were fairly good. For main course, we ordered the tacos, lasagna, and Stroganoff. I personally liked mine because I like mushroom a lot but it can be a little bit overwhelming with the mushroom taste. Both of my friends had to order their second pick because both of their first pic ran out. They ended up saying they liked their dish but wasn't blown away or anything. I love elevated vegan restaurants. This place is beautiful, and casual at the same time. The dumplings, lumpia, and tatchos taste so much like their meat counterparts, that they didn't even stand out. Which is a good thing. They tasted delicious and the tatchos were our favorite. The interior is also bright and nice, as it used to be a retrofitted fire station. The crispy Maitake mushrooms were fried perfectly and didn't feel oily or heavy at all. The Clear Melon Gazpacho was very refreshing with hints of melon. I loved the sweet corn flavor from the pasta dish I got, and the coconut feta cheese tasted almost like the real thing! Walking into Twelvemonth is exciting not just because of the beautiful dining room, but also because you're looking forward to what inventive dishes they'll have added to their menu. I don't typically order salads out but their Brassica Salad was quite nice, and their Bagna Cauda was tasty but a small portion for the price. The Japanese Curry was solid but (similar to previous curries here) requires you to have it by itself without rice to truly appreciate the subtle flavor combinations. We repeated the Radish Cake from a previous visit and it was just as good this time, and the Tagliatelle was quite nice as well. For dessert, their Potted Pudding was cutely served in an actual small flowerpot, but overshadowed by the excellent Olive Oil Cake. read more

The interior was absolutely luscious from our loungy waiting area - a lovely room with velvet chairs and vintage books - to our private dining room, the bar, the main dining room and the patio. I just wanted to hang out in every space and have a drink. The service was terrific. We had some gluten-free, allium-free, and nightshade free folks in our group and our server (Keith?) went through all of our options with us. We ordered the crispy maitake (had to reorder twice because everyone at so many of them (one order came with an shug sauce - delish), charred cabbage salad, tea party salad, Shanghai lumpia, eggplant parm sliders, lasagna, campanelle with english peas, pickled mushrooms, green garlic. and spring onion, and asparagus salad. Beautiful open airy dining room with great design along with a fun bar area on the side. I came here with my 3 yo after seeing their kids menu online. I was here with my mommy friends also. The service and food were mediocre. I wish they had offered more kid friendly utensils.
