Their bakery is separate from the restaurant, with its entrance on California Dr. The shop itself is quite small, with only about four seats, but the ambiance was charming and had a great atmosphere. Service was also quick. I was particularly excited to visit because of the unique croissant flavors, and I decided to try the earl grey and grapefruit croissant. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectations. The pastry lacked the flakiness I look for in a good croissant and was a bit dense. Flavor wise, the grapefruit overpowered the earl grey, which was disappointing. I had high hopes for this one, so I was pretty bummed that it missed the mark. read more

I have not been to a more beautiful, incredibly delicious, and well serviced restaurant in god knows how long -- this place is magical, unique, and a destination location that is begging to be runover by influencers and people wanting to get great shots of themselves amongst incredible scenery. We lucked upon this place while hosting a foreign gov't official for lunch and if you know anything about diplomats, it's that you want to show them the best and impress them when possible -- and it was my first time here so I was a bit hesitant but it blew my socks clear off. Service with the lady at the front was superb -- whoever the hostess was, she was also our waitress, and the service was 10-stars out of 5. I was a mystery shopper in another life, having dined and stayed at places that most people cannot ever dream to afford or even want to afford -- having personally eaten at over 1,200+ restaurants and counting and Twelvemonth was up there. The fun part? Not telling my party that it was vegan -- and soaking in their incredulous reactions to how absolutely astounding the food was. We had the asparagus (highly recommend), the fried mushroom (I hate mushrooms normally, but I ate it all), and beets to start -- and I had the curry and there was a salad that someone ate who said, "I have never had better salad than this in my life" -- the entire experience was well-rounded, premiere creme-de-la-creme -- and I will be bringing all future business meetings and events/engagements here. It was not full this evening and it took awhile to get any attention. We had to get menus, get the attention of service staff (about. 15min wait to be greeted. Shared some appetizers (Candied Peanuts & Roasted Beets)....i usually don't like roasted beets bc it's too earthy for me, but loved these beets because they were paired with yogurt, zaatar & herbs - it was refreshing. We also got 2 desserts (Tahini Cake and cobbler)...I wasn't blown away however I preferred the cobbler. I didn't expect to be blown away; however this restaurant completely exceeded all expectations we had for vegan food. The ambience was very warm and inviting. The appetizers were incredible and the main courses were amazing too. We got the dumplings, Italian butter beans, roasted beets, el pastor tacos, and eggplant Parmesan sliders from the small plates and bar bites. For the mains we got lasagna and coconut curry. We ordered the potted pudding as a dessert which was the most delicious part. Everything tasted vibrant and flavorful. The presentation was beautifully done. Id say I was pretty surprised with this one. I've avoided it for the lo gest time but caved in because I heard they had great cocktails. We made reservations just in case. And this place was massive!! I remember the old brewery was here. Good times. I really like what they did with the place. There's great aethetic with what they had to work with. Maybe when the weather gets warmer, we can try the outside. Service was a bit slow in the beginning, but once we got the orders in, they came flying out. Great attentive service from all staff members. My favorite for the night was definitely the mushrooms. I could eat that alllll day. I enjoyed trying new cocktails. This is a lovely place, with creative vegetarian food, some of it weight watchers ww friendly for those of us on a diet. I appreciated the heated outdoor seating for the covid conscious among us. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was tasty and innovative. I'm giving it a 4 instead of a 5 though because the dish names and descriptions were often hard to decipher. Sometimes the poetic license in the description made it sound like the dish was different from what it was. For instance, I ordered the BHARTA EGGPLANT - described as "eggplant confit, bharta puree, tzatziki, chickpeas, roasted cashews, fried onions, micro cilantro (gf)" - but the eggplant wasn't a puree, it was hard-to-cut slabs of not cooked enough eggplant under the onion and chickpea part. While the onion and chickpea part was delicious, I left the hard eggplant chunks aside, and was disappointed because I'd have preferred a puree. It was also hard to understand what "savory tomato soup brûlée" meant, elsewhere on the menu - my only association with the term brûlée is the creamy burnt sugar dessert, and I didn't quite get how that would combine with tomato soup. We asked the waiter who tried to help us understand it, but it was still hard to envision so I didn't risk it. Photos in the menu would go a long way. It would also be useful if the flavor profile were made clearer - I ordered the corn gnudi and was guessing that a corn dumpling dinner dish would be savory, but it was more sweet. It wasn't bad tasting but again had I known it was a sweet dish I might have made a different choice. Anyway we will still return another time, but with a sense that one is on a culinary adventure which, like many adventures, don't always go as planned. read more

We came in on a Thursday around 5pm and we were able to get a table for 4 with no reservations. The interior design of the restaurant is so pretty. Food was good. Our favorites were the crispy mushrooms, not paella and red sauce pasta. We tried the arugula with strawberry salad and it was ok. We also tried the daikon/radish and tempeh dish with xo sauce. Nothing really stood out on that one and I thought it was ok. The server did come to check on us but towards the last 20 minute of service we ran out of water and no one came to check on us. We also had the malasadas and potted pudding for dessert. Everything was delicious. Decided to stop by for drinks Saturday night without the kids. We had a nice time Friday, so why not. There were a few Twelvemonth employees who were at the bar after, I'm assuming, their shift in the main dining area. That's fine. I'm all for winding down after work. Except, the bartenders were paying more attention to them than they were to their customers at the bar. One of the girls/employees was even vaping at the bar and no one said anything. 3. This is a place I want to like. It's a historic spot, high ceilings, buzzy ambiance and exquisite service. Lot of people and innovative menu and food. Completely vegan but vegan food should not mean food without flavor or spice. Also maybe leave some classics alone. Why not just serve a beautiful vegetarian paella? I know the best part of paella is the bottom called socarratt but it is so tasty because of the fluffy soft paella rice above that. Take away the rice and serve only socarrat you are left with oily mess in your mouth. I thought the curry was also a disappointment., missing something I can't put my finger on. I will maybe try this one again at some point if their menu changes but a lot of glitz without heart is how I'd describe the food read more

First time to come in and dine (yes they've been around for a few years!). We came with an older couple with specific dietary needs. Interior is clean and comfortable! Lounges, sofas, velvet seats, low lights even on a hot midafternoon. We had the Goddess Salad with Falafel, Dumplings, Sliders, Lumpia, Ceviche - all vegan creations! And all delicious and satisfying, and nourishing. We enjoyed the mild-flavored celery soda, some of us had wine and enjoyed their sips, too. The desserts were creative: Potted Pudding was enjoyably chocolatey and the Lemon Semifreddo was satisfying and balanced by the coconut crisp served alongside. Bathroom was very clean and, though reminiscent of the old Steelhead layout, completely a different experience (gratefully). Our server Georgie (sp) was kind and patient as we had many, many questions on the menu items. We look forward to coming back to create more dining memories soon! read more

My favorite plant-based restaurant! I've been at least 10 times in 2025, and every visit is just as impressive as the last. The interior design is absolutely stunning, and the outdoor seating is equally beautiful. There's truly something for everyone on the menu the sliders are a standout, and the bean stew is a must (trust me!). The service is always kind and attentive. I celebrated my birthday here and it ended up being one of my favorite dining experiences in the Bay Area. Twelvemonth has become one of my favorite restaurants, and a huge reason for that is Chef Eddie. He has welcomed me, my friends, and my family into the restaurant numerous times and always makes us feel like actual family. That kind of warmth is rare, and it changes the whole experience. He's also an incredibly humble guy with a deep passion for his craft, and you can feel that in every dish. The food is thoughtful, precise, and exciting, with subtle hints of his South American upbringing and Asian culinary background woven in so naturally. Nothing feels forced -- just deeply intentional and incredibly well executed. The lasagna and crispy mushrooms are still my favorites and honestly two of the main reasons I keep coming back. I also got to see the kitchen, and the level of precision back there felt more like a lab than a kitchen -- all of it working together to create the perfect experience, or even the perfect nostalgic memory, on a plate. The arboretum and the restaurant's commitment to sustainability make Twelvemonth feel even more special and distinct. At this point, I've brought almost all my friends here already, so now I may need to go make more friends just to have an excuse to keep coming back. I was treated for Father's Day dinner by my family here. What a surprise revelation ! I had low expectations but the food, ambiance and everything exceeded our expectations. They create some very uniquely tasty dishes that leaves you wanting for more . The beans stew is really the star of the menu. Service can be better. The server left the dessert menu and disappeared for the next 15 min. He said the Blubbery cobbler had ran out so we picked the Tahini cake .He came back after another 5 min and said that they no more had that also . There was nothing worth ordering from the dessert menu after that and we left with no dessert. APPETIZER: MUSHROOMS, CEVICHE The mushrooms were super tasty with the sauce! But almost like, how can it not be, when you're eating fried food?! The ceviche was good as well. I enjoyed the citrus flavors; my friends thought it was overwhelmingly citrusy. MAIN: "NOT PAELLA" - a hint of citrus, good, but I would have liked the rice to be a bit more crispy. BBQ PLATE - did not like this one...flavors were strange. On the sweeter side and the balls were quite dry. GNOCCHI - good flavor, a bit of spice that gave it a nice kick SCIALATIELLI - also on the sweeter side, like sweet corn; was good on the initial bites but was a bit overwhelmingly sweet after more bites TAMALES - enjoyed the flavor and texture; just the right amount of saltiness and a mild sweetness from the sauce; tamale skin was also not super dry like some other places Unfortunately, many of the mains were a let-down :( I did like the Tamales and the Paella. My husband and I are not big on plant-based food, but have been here multiple times and absolutely love it! The restaurant, bar, and bakehouse are beautiful and always have a great rotating selection of food and pastries. The cocktails and wine selection are also excellent, with plenty of non-alcoholic options as well. Sometimes service is a little slow, but not worth dinging them an entire star - they are often very busy and appear to have a few new hires at the start of the summer. We've been here twice for special occasions, a birthday and an anniversary. This dining room (and outdoor patio) is absolutely gorgeous and elegant. Service is excellent. Both times, we enjoyed the drinks, appetizers (especially the maitake mushrooms and panzanella), and desserts. The entrees are a different story. On my first visit, I got the turnip cake, which I didn't love. Husband got a pasta dish which he really enjoyed, so I thought maybe I'd ordered wrong. We returned over a year later. I got the new fall dish of a gluten free Red Kuri Gnocchi. My waitress highly recommended it and said she loved it. It had the texture of play-dough, extremely gummy and unpleasant. It had a pastiness to it, as though it wasn't fully cooked. There were Asian style flavors with some pockets that were overly salty. I ended up sending it back and sharing my feelings with another waiter, who said he's gotten that feedback before. He asked if I wanted something else, which I declined. Nothing else on the menu really appealed to me, so I said I'd skip straight to dessert. Again, the desserts were good, so at least we ended the meal on a high note. Then we received the bill and were shocked to see that they had not removed the gnocchi (but had comped the dessert). It was $32, which is a lot to pay for a dish that was sent back. I might go back to try the bakery (which oddly is never open when the actual restaurant is) but I likely won't return to the dining room for a very expensive and disappointing meal. read more

I rarely write reviews, and as someone who has worked in the service industry, I generally give establishments multiple visits before forming an opinion. Unfortunately, our experience at Twelvemonth this evening was unacceptable and reinforces what appears to be a recurring service issue. My partner and I visited with our dogs and waited an unreasonably long time to be acknowledged by a server. When someone finally took our order, he informed us he was leaving for the evening. While that in itself is not an issue, what followed was: it took 35 minutes for the next server to even realize there was a problem with our first round of drinks. After an additional five minutes, we packed up our dogs and left without ever being served. The absence of urgency, accountability, and basic service awareness is inexcusable--particularly for an establishment operating at this level. At a minimum, Twelvemonth needs structured shift-change handoffs, consistent table monitoring, and clear expectations that service breakdowns are communicated immediately. These are fundamental operational standards, not exceptional ones, and their absence made this experience a complete failure. read more
