Absolutely amazing!! As the bride, I have to say it was a dream come true. We wanted a venue that we could enjoy with minimal stress and that is exactly what we got. They handled EVERYTHING and literally held my hand throughout the day of - directing me, giving me timelines, making sure not only I was in the right place at the right time but everyone else was as well. It was honestly a smooth day with only nervous jitters but little to no stress. The venue is beautiful, they set up all the decorations as well as all the miscellaneous things I brought. The photographer (Rochelle) was so transparent and helpful with not only pictures but the timeline throughout the day! The coordinators (Penie and Racheal) were absolutely amazing with emailing consistently, answering all my calls and text messages, as well as zoom meeting to finalize decisions I never even thought about!! The DJ was so much fun and used our playlist perfectly! The food and desserts were a huge hit (they also make extra food for all of the staff so they get dinner that night as well, which I completely loved)!! And the flowers were a dream come true. She even hand twisted half a dozen beautiful flowers so they could be placed in my hair and made a flower crown for my mom! It was so special! Not to mention how truly kind and accommodating al the staff was. From Tyler at check in to the last employee seeing us off at check out, they all were amazing and you can see that they not only take pride in their jobs but enjoy it as well. Honestly, I couldn't have asked for a better day. I wish I could do it all over again! Thank you TMH team for being so AMAZING! I can never express how much it meant to us! We got married here July 26, 2023 and have nothing but positive things to say about this place. TMH exceeded all of our expectations and we would highly recommend them to anyone considering getting married here! As our first impression of TMH, Rachel can take most of the credit for our decision. Her virtual tour with us was outstanding, and could not even compare to any of the others we spoke to. And that is specifically speaking to her skills. She really took the time to give us a full "experience" of the property, answering all of our questions, initially and along the way, so that we really got a good and complete picture, even without seeing the venue in person. She always made herself available and was responsive to our every need, as we made our decision. Her upfront and honest answers helped us to work within the timeline we had, make informed decisions, and ultimately make TMH a reality for us. Penie, the coordinator, far exceeded everything we could have hoped for, and then some. We attribute so much of our amazing experience at TMH to her and her efforts, from the very beginning all the way through the end. She worked with us to achieve our very unique vision, including all kinds of surprises, and executed it flawlessly. It was clear that creating our vision really mattered to her. She knew all of our surprises so well that she even took ownership of them on the day of, in order to help alleviate our stress, even though they were not her responsibility to take on. Throughout the planning process, she was very responsive and organized. We know she had many other couples but we always felt like we were the only one she was working with. Her personality also made communication and planning with her a joy, instead of stressful. Throughout our stay, but more specifically on the wedding day, we never had to worry about a thing as we knew she had our backs. We knew we could rely on her, and trusted her. We left many planning and detail decisions up to her, as we trusted her judgement and expertise, and we were not disappointed. She did an excellent job with EVERY little detail of our day! After being involved with quite a few weddings, it is easy to see how fortunate we were to have Penie. She is a stellar asset to TMH, and we will forever be grateful to her. The vendors that are included in the package worked very well together, and it was very apparent that they knew TMH well. It seemed like they were all TMH staff, and that made a huge difference in the way they worked and the ease of the day. All accommodations were clean, stocked, and ready to go when we arrived. Even unexpected things were stocked, such as coffee, hair dryers, beach towels, Qtips, makeup remover, etc. If any of our guests needed anything (such as extra coffee), the staff at the General Store were happy to help. Sam and Susie stood out as TMH staff that helped us and our guests with anything that we needed throughout our entire stay. Special shoutout to Sam for agreeing to be our "fake officiant" and pulling it off, with no suspicion from any guests! Our guests appreciated the character of the accommodations, as they were all very special, unique, and carried their own charm. Creekside was by far our favorite, and we enjoyed all of its special touches: hot tub, breakfast patio, nice shower, both bedrooms, etc. We had multiple people tell us this was the best wedding they have ever been to, and we know that this reflected largely on TMH and its staff. All of the TMH staff on the wedding day worked together to ensure that we, as the couple, didn't have a single worry or concern. We were able to relax and truly enjoy our day from beginning to end, and we know TMH played a huge part in that. Even with all the advance planning of the timeline and all the little details, we didn't feel responsible for any of it on the day, as it was all being taken care of around us. Everything flowed well from one "stage" to the next. We were impressed with all the coordination that went on behind the scenes to allow this to happen. The few times that our input was needed day of, it was handled gracefully by TMH staff and was not disruptive or stressful. TMH staff did a really good job of making us, as well as our guests, feel extremely special and important. TMH staff worked well with all vendors to make the day completely seamless. The ceremony and reception site couldn't have been more beautiful, and it was obvious that the small details matter to TMH. It was better than we could ever have dreamed, and we got comments from our guests on every single detail. Our ceremony and reception were far from traditional, and they were pulled off without a hitch. We were able to take everything TMH offered and turn it into something unique and special to us. We are a few months into married life and we continue to relive our PERFECT wedding at the Twenty Mile House! We fell in love with the property when we saw the forest ceremony site and learned about the option to float the river that runs through the property! However what truly sold us on the venue was the coordinator Rachel!!! We needed someone we could trust as we live in Southern CA. Little did we know just how much we would need to trust her when a global pandemic hit just months before our big day! Here is a rundown of our vendors: Catering: Southern Accent- Kent and Adrienne were SO KIND and accommodating! All of our guests raved about the food and were big fans of the last night pizza. We also hired them to cater our rehearsal dinner. They were so attentive and even joined us on the dance floor for a few songs! Dessert: Grandma Jane's- Kimberly and her daughter nailed every dessert! We did a cutting cake (best cake I've ever had) mini cupcakes, mini pies, and mini cheesecake bites. They nailed the maple donut cupcake and the lace design on the cutting cake I had asked for was beautiful! Florals: Gray's Florals- Sonia is a true artist! I envisioned neutral flowers and pampas grass complemented by copper and mercury glass accents. She nailed everything and was able to swap out a bridesmaid bouquet for additional florals only days before the wedding. We gave her lots of freedom in terms of specific florals which allowed her to work her magic and nail our vision! DJ Jon: He was a fill in for the planned DJ but he was awesome! He had people dancing all night long and even stayed a bit extra to let the party continue. He had great energy and was a wedding guest favorite! Bar: The drinks were tasty and Joseph and staff did not stop working the entire night! They even left drinks out for us once the staff left at midnight. A perk of TMH is no noise ordinance so we were up till almost 3am! We sourced photo and video separately and they NAILED it! I will write separate reviews but 32 Degree Media and Taylor McCutchan are the best in their craft! These were #1 on my priority list behind a stunning ceremony site as they allow you to relieve every detail. We received our teaser and previews for both within weeks (photo we had the very next day!!) and we couldn't be happier! Coordinator/ Staff: Rachel and the TMH staff work non-stop to make your vision come true. We stayed on property Thursday till Sunday and every detail was taken care of from sun up to sun down! We could not have asked for a better coordinator than Rachel. She was organized, calm, accommodating, and FUN! She hyped us up for the big weekend but kept us calm as we navigated the unexpected challenges of COVID. One piece of advice when planning any wedding at any venue is to understand your contracts with all vendors. Understand how situations like COVID (is there even something similar to this?!) or other unpredictables impact your date/ planning process. Our wedding process was so SMOOTH until COVID which was unchartered territory for everyone. We got married late august 2023. The day was an absolute dream. The entire staff was so friendly and amazing to work with. The food was delicious and a lot of it was sourced locally which was really special. The caterer worked with us to create a menu that reflected us, our families and the flavors we loved. The photographer was so sweet and kind and made our private photoshoots feel natural and fun she also included our dog the photos which we loved. The florist was amazing and spent a lot of time listening to what we wanted and making the entire venue absolutely stunning and our florals where exactly what I was hoping for. If you are lucky enough to work with Penie know that your day matters to her as much as it matters to you. She was such an amazing person to work with who truly made our day everything we could have ever hoped for. 20 Mile House is a beautiful location & it provides guests w/ a unique & intimate wedding experience. Here is a breakdown of our experience. COVID Protocols Our wedding was scheduled for spring 2020 & we had to postpone due to COVID. This initiated a horrific communication experience w/ the owner, Kevin. He was adamant 20MH would be hosting weddings in 2020 & our date was moved to Sept 2020. As we know COVID was not under control or safe in Sept & yet he fought us to keep the Sept date, even though we were still in the middle of a pandemic. When we asked to move our date to 2021, he attempted to charge us $15K more & stated, it is a "considerable cost to the Twenty Mile House to cancel a wedding & rescheduling to the following year." After mos of communication which brought w/ it a lot of emotional distress, 20MH finally agreed to host our wedding in 2021 for a comparable cost to what we signed up for. This interaction alone left a bitter taste for 20MH.. Pre-Wedding Planning 20MH wasn't proactive during the planning. If you wish to use their vendors from the package w/ no changes then you are good. We wanted to use outside locations for our rehearsal. The small town of Graeagle (pop aprx 500) didn't have a lot of choices. This we knew, but what we didn't realize was Rachel, the wedding coordinator, would not attempt to put us in contact w/ other vendors in the area or offer solutions when problems arose. We were on our own. Eventually we were able to find our rehearsal site & they accommodated us for $20 less pp than the 20MH vendor. 20MH doesn't include alcohol in their package but when we signed our contract we're told, "Costco will deliver". That turned out to be erroneous. We spent countless hrs calling liquor stores, etc. & finally Tahoe BevMo agreed to deliver alcohol. This is a simple fact 20MH should have known & they should have done the legwork, not us. Their required planning worksheets are completely outdated w/ limited space for info & no flexibility to note additional details. The planning map is basically clipart. Arrival & Check In 20MH is remote, which is what makes it so wonderful. The closest airport is Reno & there are limited flights. You must rent a car for an hour drive to the venue. There are no Ubers or taxis. 20MH's check-in is 3PM- they agreed we could arrive at 12 but they were adamant we couldn't come any earlier. Upon arrival they were still planting flowers, hanging lights & working on the venue. We had created gift bags for our bridal party which we were unable to place in the cabins before everyone arrived. We're told we couldn't drop them off the night before because 20MH was still doing touch-ups to the cabins & had scheduled a mngmt meeting the morning of our arrival. Rehearsal We had provided a very detailed agenda to 20MH for our ceremony. When Rehearsal started Rachel did not have the info down & we had to correct her. Her tone was very rushed & annoyed & we felt as though we were cattle being herded. Multiple people, including our officiant, made comments on her rudeness. Again, not the best kick-off to our experience especially given what a horrible 20MH experience we had had leading up to the wedding weekend. Accommodations The cabins are quaint & a great experience for the guests. It was very convenient having our bridal party onsite w/ us. The grounds keeper & assistant were amazing & accommodating (wish I remembered their names!). The only bummer was in our original contract we had paid to have the Mountain Escape cabin 4 nights. For 2021, they wanted to charge us for the entire 20MH site fee so we had to book off-site. Again, not willing to work w/ us. Ceremony set up We created custom "Reserved" tags to be placed on specific chairs. We provided a seating chart indicating only a couple chairs in each of the rows would be reserved. Unfortunately additional tags were placed on the aisles of multiple rows; therefore, this created confusion for the guests as it appeared entire rows were being reserved. Again, a small detail but caused confusion. Wedding Day We left explicit instructions w/ Rachel that our wedding gifts to each other were to be delivered to us in advance of our First Look. A frantic & distressed call was made to Rachel as the Bride did not have her gift & the photographer was on his way - this task almost dropped through the cracks. When coming down for our First Look, no one had told the Groom where to go so as the car pulled up with the bride, the first look was almost ruined. Vendors were great besides the DJ who didn't play much of our provided list (and some songs multiple times) & switched to electronic music after being specifically told prior to the wedding we didn't want that genre. Our desserts were amazing. The wedding cake looked beautiful - I'm not sure who was responsible for the cake care, but when we went to cut our cake, it was completely frozen. The cake was trashed & we were very disappointed. read more

The entire team at Twenty Mile House is so skilled at what they do that our day was effortlessly amazing. From our wedding planner, to the catering staff, photography, and the D.J. Even with having a wedding there without actually visiting beforehand you would have thought we planned it there for months. I would highly suggest to any couple who wants to get married there to DO IT! My family and friends keep saying that it was the most amazing wedding ever and I couldn't agree more. I can't say enough good things about Twenty Mile House. They took care of everything so I had little to nothing to worry about. The venue itself is absolutely breathtaking with views of the mountains, a nearby river, train tracks and forest trees. Cabins on site that accommodated my entire wedding party, plus some. Every vendor who is partnered with TMH was amazing to work with! Quick to respond, very friendly, and the best part is they all have worked together for years so they knew how to make sure our day ran smoothly and perfectly. If you are looking for an all-inclusive wedding venue, TMH is the best decision you will ever make. I am so happy with our decision to get married there. Everything was perfect and stress free. Penie was our wedding coordinator and we hired the recommended vendors from TMH. Every vendor worked together perfectly to make our wedding truly incredible. I may be biased but it was the best wedding I've ever been to by far. The food is magnificent, the venue is amazing, the people are incredible. We had to do almost nothing to plan our wedding. We just said "this is kind of what we have in mind" and Penie made it all happen. We even had a situation where my dad had to return to their cabin to get insulin and missed the anniversary dance. My mom was standing at the side of the dance floor saddened by his absence. When he returned I said "Penie my mom is sad please fix it." She immediately went to the DJ and had my parents announced with a special dance for their 39 years of marriage to their wedding song and saved the day. Rachel Mann has been terrific during this whole process from start to finish! Clearly not an easy seat she sits in right now, especially with the property located in CA. As a retired event planner myself, I could not have more pleased with her constant communication regarding all phases of our daughters wedding. From vendor recommendations to rooming accommodations the process was EASY. The property is stunning and what a great destination location. Makes for one hell of a party! Twenty Mile House was the absolute perfect venue for us! We knew we wanted to get married in the Forest, but were not sure where. After sending out email request for information to several different locations, Rachel at Twenty Mile House was the first to respond. She was so helpful in answering all our questions and getting us the information we needed to make a decision. We live in Southern California and were not able to go up and view the property so she offered us a virtual tour. After that we were sold and booked it without seeing it in person! Thankfully it was the best decision we made. We got to go up a couple months later to attend one of their open houses to meet the vendors and see the accommodations, we immediately knew we made a great choice! Once the planning started we worked with Penie who was the best coordinator and was on top of everything. I have never planned anything like this before and she made the whole experience stress free and easy. The vendors were all lovely to work with and when the day came it was exactly what we hoped for. Everyone hit it out of the park and us along with our guest had the best time! It is so special that several of our guest got to stay on the property with us and the cabins are so charming and comfortable. My wedding was on 6/29/17 and twenty mile house made my once in a lifetime experience memorable. Rachel was our wedding planning and she was the best at it. I had the total Pinterest wedding; our theme was bohemian and Gypsy. I brought pictures and she hung them around the trees, she was attentive and genuine. The property is magnificent and I'd highly recommend it. Honesty, it's a bit pricy but they do everything for you. You can have a cheaper wedding but you're gonna have to do more work. I didn't have to really lift a finger. I sent my info and let them know how I wanted my wedding to be and they made it happen. It's been a month and every time I looked back at my wedding, I don't have a single regrets. It's everything I wanted for my dream wedding. I started wedding planning on Wednesday 6/14/17 and after receiving an estimate for another venue, I googled Northern CA wedding venues and found this gem of a venue. I loved that the pricing is laid out very clearly on the website and you can see exactly what's included and punch your own numbers based on your estimated guest list. I sent an email through the website on Friday 6/16/17 and received a quick response back from the owner Kevin. I called him the next morning and even though he was running errands for a wedding that day, he took the time to call me right back! I told him my crazy idea of getting married sometime in the first two weeks of August and by some miracle, Sunday 8/6/17 was available! Besides the beautiful outdoorsy scenery, one of the biggest reasons why I chose TMH is that food, DJ, flowers, and desserts are all included. I did not have time to independently research vendors so it was perfect for me. Kevin said this would be a record amount of time for them but that he was excited. Kevin is seriously one of the nicest people I've talked to and he's very easy going. He sent over the paperwork and deposit info and then Rachel the wedding coordinator got in touch with me immediately. I went up to tour with property with my parents and we fell even more in love with it. It's one of the most unique places! We got to meet Kevin and Rachel and sit down to make some decisions. I was pretty clueless and overwhelmed about all the little details and Rachel was amazing at giving me options and helping me decide. (I chose Southern Accent for the food(delicious, wish I would have ate more!) and Quincy Cooking Cottage(cutting cake & three dessert bar items!). Gray's Florist took some of my Pinterest pics and made them reality and DJ Todd kept everyone happy all night long!) Rachel guided me every step of the way and I could not have made this wedding happen without her. She stayed in touch with me the night before the wedding when rain decided to make things difficult and she handled everything with ease. She guided our families on what to do and how to do it the day of the wedding. She is ON POINT with absolutely everything!! I will never be able to thank her enough for her expertise and friendliness. She just made everything happen and is just so kind. We didn't want her to leave at the end of the night! Our day went by in a blur as I'm sure most couples' do but we had the best time and so did our guests. It's a day we will never forget and I'm so happy I found this stunning location! My husband and I recently got married at the Twenty Mile House. We could not have been any more impressed with the experience that the venue, staff, and vendors they work closely with, provided us with. We wouldn't have changed one single detail of our wedding. All of our guests were very impressed as well. Nothing went wrong and I really think thats a true testament of their hard work and dedication to making the wedding experience nothing short of perfect. First off, the wedding coordinator, Rachel Mann, is incredible. She was on top of every single little detail, always promptly got back to me, answered all my questions and was an integral part of our day. She took such good care of us and was so thoughtful throughout the day & planning. Simply put, she is amazing. We can truly never thank her enough for everything she did for us. She really went above and beyond for us & is really incredible at her job. We loved her and she was very highly regarded by all who attended & both of our families & bridal party. The rest of the staff was equally as wonderful. So much fun and so thoughtful (including Kelly who is such a doll). Loved her so much, too! Secondly, all of the vendors couldn't have done a better job. I mean that with so much sincerity. They made everything so easy for me & were so much fun to work with. I gave them such little guidance and they somehow managed to make our wedding everything I could have ever dreamed of & more if that's even possible. Connie's desserts at Quincy Cooking Cottage were incredible. She took my pinterest board and re-created the most beautiful and delicious desserts. The smore station was such a HUGE hit. Kent & Adrienne's food (including late night pizza) was loved and complimented by all and they were so sweet to deal with. It was an absolute pleasure to work with them. Adrienne, herself, came and delivered food to us while we were taking photos (we were starving by them). She explained everything with so much love and detail. The food was delicious! And Sonia from Grays Flower Garden. My goodness did she deliver! I sent her one email w/ a few pinterest pics and she managed to give me the most beautiful wedding. She is incredibly talented and I'm so grateful she was there to take creative control. Todd, the DJ, kept us dancing all night long and got us all the spanish music we asked for. We couldn't possibly have had more fun. That, I can guarantee. Overall, the venue is spectacular. So beautiful and well maintained. Everyone from the owners (Kevin & Karen), to all of the staff, to all of the vendors they work with, are so amazing at what they do and they truly go out of their way to make sure you have everything you could want and more at your wedding. They take all of the pressure off of wedding planning and make it so easy & flexible for couples and their families. Their wedding fairs are so much fun and really help w/ planning, as well. First off, I want to say that we had the wedding of our dreams! The grounds of the TMH are a perfect place for a wedding weekend. The main house and general store are so charming and the natural beauty is stunning. It was so nice to have our close friends and family on site and nearby and to be able to hang out there from Friday afternoon to Sunday morning. In addition to the wedding itself, we had our welcome dinner at the TMH, a campfire by the river both nights (highly recommended!), yoga on the dance floor Saturday morning, and a lovely family brunch Sunday. The reason for the two-star downgrade is our experience with the owner. Kevin is way too laid-back in our opinion. Things were relatively uneventful, until it got closer to the wedding. He didn't return calls or emails, even in regards to a pre-wedding visit. He showed up 5 minutes before the Friday rehearsal. We then had to discuss the wedding day details during our welcome picnic when I would rather have been enjoying our guests. The invoice we had to settle the day of the wedding was $200 more than anticipated. There were extra charges for rentals and linens which were never disclosed earlier. Money was also kept from our deposit for a broken chair. A chair that was already broken when we got there according to several of our guests, which I even informed Kevin of! And this is not even everything... But thankfully our disappointment in the owner didn't dampen our wedding celebration! Maybe things will get a little more professional after he's had his office assistant for a while (she was hired right before our wedding date). Get an itemized invoice PRIOR to your weekend! Check all furniture upon arriving. And, maybe get a day of coordinator (or weekend of?) to deal with him! PS- All other vendors used in the area were AWESOME! Great flowers and food! Good communication, delivered what agreed upon, and no surprises with the costs! read more

TMH, Rachel, and the staff were exceptional for our wedding. Rachel made the planning seamless and painless for us throughout the entire process! The venue itself is so beautiful and was the perfect spot for our friends and family to celebrate our wedding. The vendors are very accommodating and worked with us every step of the way. The staff did a great job of making sure our stay was quality, and they did a great job setting up and tearing down as well. My husband and I can easily say that one of the best decisions of our lives together was choosing to have our wedding at The Twenty Mile House. It was the perfect setting to capture such an important moment for us and our family. For almost a year I worked with Kevin and Suzi to plan our wedding, and each and every time they made us feel like we were a special priority. Everything was so well organized that even though I was working at a new job 10+ hours a day, I never felt nervous or anxious. Kevin has done an excellent job selecting people and companies to work with. We are not from the area, but Kevin made it easy to select a caterer by hosting a tasting at TMH, and they were all so good we had a hard time choosing. The florist he works with is amazing and helped me put together gorgeous eco-friendly table settings, boutonnieres, and bouquets that I later planted in my garden. The D.J. he uses is really cool, knows his music, and also plays with a fun band that we hired for the beginning of our celebration to kick off the evening. Kevin also officiated our wedding and he did such a beautiful job that everyone thought he was a close family member. I can't tell you how many parents came up to me and said "this is the best wedding we have ever been to" while guiltily looking over their shoulder to see if their married daughter or son could hear. Then moments later the same daughter or son would say the same thing! Most of our guests were introduced to Plumas County for the first time at our wedding and cannot wait to come back. I loved my wedding at Twenty Mile house they were all incredible to work with from the wedding fair to the day of the event everyone was super responsive, fun, and professional. I consider myself a somewhat demanding and particular bride but the Twenty mile crew never made me feel bad about me getting things exactly the way I wanted it. All the vendors work together and know each other super well so the event went extremely smoothly and communication was incredibly easy. A vast majority of my guests said that my wedding was the best one they had ever been to, I highly recommend this venue and this team of wonderful people. As far as I can see the only complaints people have about this venue were about covid restrictions but honestly even during covid they were fair and honest with me. I attended the wedding fair this Sunday at the Twenty Mile House (TMH) after my fiancé James and I booked it "sight unseen" because we live in Southern California. Although this might seem a little crazy to spend thousands of dollars on a wedding without seeing the place prior, I must say that the numerous amazing reviews, wonderful videos on Vimeo and Youtube, exceptionally detailed documentation regarding what is included for the weddings, and our phone conversation with Kevin allowed us to feel 100% confident in our decision to book sight unseen. Upon arriving at the TMH this Sunday we had no doubts that this was the place we want to get married (and luckily so because we booked it for next June!). The wedding fair was wonderful and the grounds are absolutely breathtaking. I also spoke with Karen and Kevin there as well as Ashley the wedding coordinator, and feel that they are sweet, fun, genuine people who sincerely want to provide couples with the wedding of their dreams. They go through great lengths to organize and detail weddings in a way that allows you to customize your wedding but also keep the work minimal for the couples. As a working, professional woman, I simply do not have the time, nor desire, to do everything myself. The amount of work that has gone into an all inclusive venue is extremely intensive. This is why there are not a lot of all-inclusive venues, so this is a rare gem. My fiancé and I also have dreamed about having a small, intimate wedding, which is something that the TMH offers on Sun-Thurs, without price gauging us and requiring a 75 - 100 person minimum like other venues. We truly want to spend more time with each of our guests and we are so thankful that we found a venue that will accommodate our small wedding dream. After we booked they gave me a PDF planning guide that helps you plan and customize every aspect of your wedding. This is not something you would get from booking a wedding at a Marriott. This venue is truly meant for weddings and not just a typical, generic venue. I absolutely love this huge guide! So much work went into writing a guide this big! I expect to update my review next year from a perfect 5 star to a 6 star review. =) Can't wait until our wedding next year! Looking back I believe I just simply stumbled upon this historic bed & breakfast...it's kind of a miracle that I found it the way that I did because I cannot image our wedding any other place. The Twenty Mile House is a phenominal place, a true gem locked in time in all it's glory. This 1800's B&B was the foundation for our rustic vintage ideals. Our dreams truly came to fruition on the stoic property that is the Twenty Mile house. TMH is located in the town of Cromberg, CA, just a short jaunt from it's neighboring town of Graeagle. There are many amazingly talented vendors in the area & I do suggest keeping it local if you chose to have your wedding here. For our event, the ceremony, reception and lodging for some of our family and friends took place all at the TMH. Some may find the B&B's location to be too secluded but it was exactly what we wanted... our guests to take a memorable journey to a simpler time and completely live the experience that weekend. Our family and friends traveled from all over California and some from Colorado, they all exalted that the experience was worth every mile. Kevin Gage & his wife Karen, owners and managers/officiant at the TMH were instrumental is providing us with refferals for our event. We were astonished by all of our vendors except one (I beleive she let us down simply because all the others we're beyond expectation). Kevin offers all that you require for an event of almost any size. Our 40 something group was no stretch and the property was perfect for us. There are 2 cabins that lodge about 4 guests each, a main house with 5 rooms that sleeps 14 comfortably - all furnished in classic antique splendor. Breakfast was provided for all of our guests staying on the property - amazing I might add, prepared by Kevin himself. My husband and I arrived on a Thursday early evening to prep for our family and departed Sunday morning - my only regret was that the weekend didn't linger longer. We had originally planned to have an outdoor ceremony and reception, watching the weather for May 28th adamantly...all was set up when the weather changed suddenly and we were given rain which promptly turned to snow. Kevin was amazingly flexible and assisted in changing the plan completely, all at the last minute. Kevin's officianting was right on mark, he assisted me with phenominal wording suggestions for our vows. The ceremony and reception could not have been more perfect, all things considered. Our ceremony was held in front of the living room fireplace in the main house - it was nothing we ever expected and everything we didn't know we wanted. The Dinner and reception were held in the General Store, I heard praises from each guest that evening regarding how amazed they were at the atmosphere. Thank you Kevin and the Twenty Mile House! The small things...The staff made sure we had a chance to catch our breadth, take in the moment, and double-checked that the bride & groom's glasses and plates were always full. All the vendors TMH partner's with are absolutely incredible! Choosing vendors who are familiar with TMH's terrain makes a huge difference as they are able to make the best decisions and recommendations in a moment's notice. Every vendor is extremely friendly and highly responsive. Our guests instantly raved about the food and dessert - Southern Accent Catering and Grandma Janes Place made things easy as they each offer an assortment of delicious options. I did not give much direction on the flowers, but Gray's Flower Garden hit it out of the park and the final product was perfect! Whether you are the type of person to get into the nitty gritty about details or just want to focus on the bigger picture, Twenty Mile House pairs well with any couple. We recommend Twenty Mile House to any couple looking for an incredibly unique wedding with easy and guided planning without the need to hire an additional wedding planner. TMH was instantly a home away from home. One regret is wishing we spent more than one night at the venue. We only booked the venue for the wedding night and we didn't have enough time to soak in all the beauty TMH has to offer with our friends and family. We just got married at Twenty Mile House this August and had an amazing experience. Their planning materials were super helpful and our coordinator Penie was amazing in navigating us through all the details leading up to and through our big day. The day of the wedding flowed beautifully and was totally stress free because Penie took care of everything. She was also super thoughtful and came up with so many ideas that made the day special, like scheduling some alone time for us between ceremony/pictures and the reception. The venue itself was absolutely stunning and we loved being able to have our wedding party stay on site - it really made everything feel extra special like everything about the weekend was truly about on us and ours. Best bang for your buck wedding venue. Spending a weekend at the venue with our closest family and friends made all the money spent well worth it. The TMH staff was able to work with us even though we had to reschedule our wedding due to COVID. The venue is beautiful without needing to add decorations. My husband and I got married at Twenty Mile House 2 weeks ago on Thursday, August 9, 2018. To say it was the best day ever would be an understatement! This venue was hands down the best decision we made. When we first heard of this venue, I was unsure ONLY because it's about 4 hours away from the Bay Area where most of our family is from. But we thought we should just go check it out anyways - make a weekend of it. We scheduled a visit in Sept 2017, and met with Kevin, the owner. He was super helpful, answered all of our questions, and he seemed genuinely happy to be chatting with us. The venue is hidden (in a good way) in the forest, so it really takes you by surprise when you arrive. It's absolutely GORGEOUS - so well maintained (shout out to the groundskeeper Jason - you ROCK!) - and a true hidden gem. The cabins onsite make the venue the perfect getaway for the wedding party and family! You have the train tracks with a gorgeous view, a little trail down to the river, beautiful forest ceremony site, gorgeous garden reception - I mean it covers everything you would need! When we left the tour, my fiancé and I both agreed - we LOVED it and the drive is totally worth it! After our first tour, we spent the rest of the process working with Rachel Mann - she is AMAZING! She answered all of our questions, any emails I sent, suggestions, she's just the best! TMH is so well organized, they provided access to all the planning documents on Dropbox which made it so easy. The vendors are all great! So easy to work with, and definitely make dreams come true! Here is who we selected: Catering - Southern Accents - Kent & Adrienne are THE BEST! We met them at the wedding fair TMH hosted in April and sampled some of the food. They were so kind & the food was great, so we knew we had to use them! We used them for the rehearsal dinner, as well as the reception. We opted for the taco bar for the rehearsal and the ice cream sundae bar for dessert - it was fun and a hit! For the reception, we went with the lemon tarragon chicken & the applewood smoked prime rib - everyone raved about the food! So happy we went with Southern Accents! Also - ask them about doing a late night pizza oven! We are so happy we added that option - it was such a hit, especially later in the evening! Floral - Gray's Flowers - Sonia heard my vision and made it happen! We met at the wedding fair, and then communicated via email for the rest. She was so easy to work with and delivered what we envisioned and more! Great service and so seamless! Bakery - Quincy Cooking Cottage - Connie was perfection! I wanted more of a selection of desserts instead of a full cake for the wedding, and Quincy Cooking Cottage could do just that! They did mini cheesecakes, lemon bars, and cookies - along with a small cake for us to cut :) It was perfect - they even decorated the table for us so it looked great! We added the s'mores bar which was a huge hit! We also had Quincy Cooking Cottage cater a breakfast for us the morning of the wedding - quiches, bagels, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, granola. It took stress off of us for having to figure out breakfast ideas - they just did it for us! So glad we decided to add that! DJ - Todd with Wildsmile Entertainment - I filled out a music worksheet, honestly only put specific songs for special dances and ceremony mainly (maybe gave him 10-15 songs), and had him do the rest! He was awesome - he played music the crowd danced too and really just worked it! I so appreciate how professional he was and handled the day seamlessly. This was probably the easiest part of it all! The TMH Staff - they are on top of it! I can't believe how perfect everything was, and how they set up everything I brought! I was thinking some of the more detailed items like hanging pictures from the trees leading to the ceremony I would need to do, but Rachel assured me that they got it and not to worry! Wow. I literally did nothing the day of, besides get beautified and dressed! A special shout out to Nova who was our bartender and manager the night of & at the rehearsal - she handled everything perfectly and made sure to keep me in the loop on any updates. Rachel, obviously, is perfection. Can't say enough great things about her! She was there for both events (rehearsal dinner & wedding/reception) and keeps a calm vibe at all times which made me stay calm - Thank you thank you! I truly appreciate everyone that helped make this a special day! I felt so at ease and that we were able to be with our guests and not have to worry about anything. After the wedding, and even now, I'm getting feedback from guests that this was THE BEST wedding they have been to - that's the best feedback I could hear! We loved the privacy it offers (where the whole venue is rented to the wedding couple on their special day). We wanted our guests to feel comfortable and at ease in celebrating wuth us.
