Unfortunately, the bugs were so bad that you had to swat away from the parking area all the way to the cabin - so we did not get to enjoy the river that afternoon. Then when we got unpacked, the place was not very clean in the areas you would expect: The base of the toilet looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while; they tried to staple down the vinyl flooring laid up against the bath cabinet; there was black all around the sink stopper; no blinds where there should have been for privacy; bottom 6-7 slats missing in the living area; no lamps for lighting to read in the living room; dishes and eating utensils did not look very clean; and some funky towel/curtain at the toilet which faces out towards the walkway for the other two cabins. And there was only one plugin heater so we were having to move it around from room to room when the temp dropped. They need at least two. I would not rent any cabin from this site after this experience. I give it only 2 stars because of the location. The owner needs to get their act together if they're going to be in the hospitality business

Self check in with code at the doors to rooms make it easy. 10/10 recommend. Not a lot of snow right now but we will definitely be back with the family again next time we have a lot of snow. Possibly may even come back during summer to enjoy the lake. Price is reasonable, definitely worth every penny.

I was happy to see the grounds maintained so I didn't worry too much about my dog getting foxtails in his paws. The pool area is pretty dope with lots of options to sunbathe or hide in the shade. I knew exactly where I left it. When I called the lodge and advised of this they stated they'd look for it and check with cleaning crew and call me back. They did call me back and stated nobody had seen it. I knew exactly where I placed it before I checked out and they were insistent nobody had seen it. IMO, a small amount of decency and integrity speak volumes and will get my referrals as well as repeat business. I'd rather have an ok steak with exceptional customer service than a fabulous steak with poor customer service. Honesty is free and anybody can do it!

Our virtual tour with Rachel made us fall in love with the venue; Kevin and Karen worked with us to make our budget work, Joe gave us a wonderful tour when we returned after booking; and Ashleigh patiently answered all of my questions--no matter how late I sent them. The venue itself feels like something out of a storybook. Every one of our guests raved about the beautiful setting, the accommodations, the incredible staff, the ceremony site, and even the fact that there wasn't a restrictive noise ordinance. Everything exceeded our expectations. Not a day has gone by since our wedding that I haven't said, "I wish I could do it all over again." Rude! Rude! She reluctantly came to check and scolded us for not fully closing the patio doors which by the way is hard to open and close. The screen with a magnet attached, what a joke! The rats were living under the fridge and when we moved it to the side, there it was! A passage and droppings all over the floors. She then said, "well, you are in nature!" We weren't camping or glamping near a sewage! Despicable! Did absolutely nothing to accommodate us or move us to another cabin. So we stayed up all night with the rats! I am not sure about all the other cabins but #9 is smelly, old, and gross! Be careful being on the deck, might go through the rotting woods!

I booked us a trip to go hiking and stay at buttes resort on a whim and a quick Google search. I am SO happy we stayed here. Pulling up, we met with Jim the owner who was super nice and got us set up in our cabin, lucky number 5. It was sooooo cute. The grounds are kept very nice and there is a beautiful overlook in the back. The cabins have little patios and common areas to hangout with the other guests. They have an office that has free movies to borrow, board games, Menus for the restaurants and more. Walking into our cabin we were totally in awe. It was so homey and we were instantly comfortable. The cabin is decorated really well and has everything you can possibly need including a kitchen, utensils, plates and cups, hot coffee, a microwave, a fridge, and more. Our bed was really comfortable, the temperature was easily changed, we didn't notice any outside noise and we just had an absolutely amazing time. I can't wait to come back.
