I really didn't know what to expect since I had never been to a clothing-optional hot spring before, but everyone was respectful and doing their own thing. It didn't feel weird at all, even as a first-timer. I loved the pools and their perfect temperatures. My favorite was definitely the meditation pool, and that's where I decided to go topless. There's something about being there that makes you feel so connected to the earth that you just want to feel as close to nature as possible. The café has very limited options, but everything they offer is ridiculously delicious. I had the banana tacos, which were a mix of coleslaw and tomato salad. I know I'm not making them sound very tasty, but I guarantee you, they were freaking delicious! The ladies at the front were also very welcoming and answered all of our questions. They never made us feel weird for being first-timers or for some of the questions we had. I also had a massage with Derek, who was such a nice man to talk to. I told him about my problem areas and asked him to focus on those spots. It was honestly one of the best massages I've ever had. Being able to dip into the hot springs afterward was the perfect finishing touch. Obviously, I didn't take pictures since phones aren't allowed, but they do let you take pictures inside the lobby/check-in area.

The shared bathrooms in the end were not as inconvenient as those things can sometimes be. There were two guest rooms to a bathroom and the bathroom was separated from the bedrooms adequately for privacy. The place is immaculate and very pretty in its period authenticity. We hope to stay there again.

Perfect for getting away and being out in nature. The town of Loyalton is super small and doesn't have much to offer, but the Gilded Drifter Inn also has a restaurant on it's property which is probably the town's saving grace. I highly recommend the pan seared potato gnocchi, truly a delight. My husband liked the Grilled Lamb Chops, where as I am in love with the Crispy Duck Breast. If we lived closer, I would eat there every weekend! As we were finishing dinner, it started filling up so I know we aren't the only ones who loved it. Chelsea, the host, is what makes this place special. She adds little touches to make it unique and heartfelt. And she is so warm and inviting, it's like you are immediately family staying at her house. From the little envelope with your name on it when you arrive, to the books everywhere, to the vintage artsy decor- you can tell she put so much love into this Inn! I joked with her saying I was going to move in because the vibe was so wonderful. The rooms itself were fairly roomy and incorporated the same vintage feel through out. The bed was super comfortable and she provided extra pillows to make our stay perfect. The bathrooms were modern, clean, and felt like you were at a spa. We stayed in the Clemens Suite, but next time we might bring the kids and reserve the Harte Room. I love that she has the history behind each name of the room and the Inn itself. She did a great job at preserving the history of the town. The only negative I have is that we didn't get to enjoy the backyard as much, but it wasn't the Inn Keeper's fault. The backyard was beautiful and serene, but the next door neighbor was obnoxious in making noise and had some political signs up. He's probably the town drunk so I didn't take off any stars because staying there was still five stars despite how ridiculous the neighbor was. We will definitely be back!

I have waited 16 years to finally get married and was given the green light from my fiance to have the wedding of my dreams. I searched forest wedding and Twenty Mile House was the very first one that came up. I loved that it wasn't too far of a drive away, the all inclusive packages and the accomodation option to stay on site for me and 53 of our guests. We had compared prices to similar venues but found it ridiculous that for the same price, we would only have the venue, tables and chairs at the other places. So with that, Twenty Mile House became the winner. We absolutely loved the vintage cozy look of the homes, the miles and miles of forestation leading up to and within the venue, and the most amazing staff i have ever experienced with. Both Rachel and Ashliegh were absolutely amazing! They both listened and made all of my requests come true. Some had to be compromised, but it didn't change much of my vision. Our bartender Jasper was absolutely amazing and so kind. The lights, the vibe, the music, all of the vendors... they all worked together like a well oiled machine and made every wedding planning moment up to the wedding day absolutely perfect. I'm a chill bride and solely trusted the vendors and Ashliegh on their skills and talent. I'd be lying if I wasn't nervous at times, but said yes when they said "trust us". They absolutely delivered! The cake was exactly how I'd envisioned it and was so delicious, the food was a huge hit for my husband and I and our guests (I wanted to takr home the meatballs and freeze them), the DJ was perfection, the florals were immaculate (more than what i had expected), and the photographer Rachelle was sooo kind and made our little awkward selves so comfortable. We had hired a non preferred videographer for our day but both Rachelle and Ashliegh worked well with them. Thank you Twenty Mile House for making our dream wedding a reality! We will definitely come back one day and rent one of your homes as an Air Bnb, just so we can relive a little piece of our wedding. Thank you, thank you, a million times thank you!

Rude! Rude! Rude! She reluctantly came to check and scolded us for not fully closing the patio doors which by the way is hard to open and close. The screen with a magnet attached, what a joke! The rats were living under the fridge and when we moved it to the side, there it was! A passage and droppings all over the floors. She then said, "well, you are in nature!" We weren't camping or glamping near a sewage! Despicable! Did absolutely nothing to accommodate us or move us to another cabin. So we stayed up all night with the rats! I am not sure about all the other cabins but #9 is smelly, old, and gross! Be careful being on the deck, might go through the rotting woods!

I booked us a trip to go hiking and stay at buttes resort on a whim and a quick Google search. I am SO happy we stayed here. Pulling up, we met with Jim the owner who was super nice and got us set up in our cabin, lucky number 5. It was sooooo cute. The grounds are kept very nice and there is a beautiful overlook in the back. The cabins have little patios and common areas to hangout with the other guests. They have an office that has free movies to borrow, board games, Menus for the restaurants and more. Walking into our cabin we were totally in awe. It was so homey and we were instantly comfortable. The cabin is decorated really well and has everything you can possibly need including a kitchen, utensils, plates and cups, hot coffee, a microwave, a fridge, and more. Our bed was really comfortable, the temperature was easily changed, we didn't notice any outside noise and we just had an absolutely amazing time. I can't wait to come back.
