Worst experience I have ever had and have not been back for YEARS. Long story short I suffered horrendous and painful plantar warts on both feet because the guy at the front directed me to a chair that was not cleaned after the previous customer's pedicure. I knew the second I put my feet in the cool water...and the staff kept looking up at me...they knew and should have said something right away. It has been years and I still suffer from these creepy warts (have never ever had a plantar wart before in my entire life. SLOW DOWN and pay attention to where you are directing your customers. I would never ever set foot in that place again. They deserve 0 stars but I had to enter one to get my review posted. There are plenty of other nail salons that respect the customers safety. Took my tween daughter here to get nails for the first time and Tina and the entire staff were so wonderful. She did them short and shaped the way she requested and did the exact colors and design she wanted. Tina also took the time to explain about my daughter having short nail beds and how different length nails would look. Prices were wonderful and service by far exceeded my expectations! I stopped in on a Monday afternoon. The entire salon was empty, which made it easy to get a pedicure without an appointment. They did quick work, and good work. My gel pedicure looks great. But they are not the most friendly staff, nor are their prices that great. It's very convenient to my house, but I think next time I will drive a little further for better prices. read more

This place is awful. The nail techs talk shit about their clients and owner didn't care to find out why I was upset. Let me explain... My friend and I called to see if they had openings for a gel pedi and regular mani. The man I was on the phone with said they could accommodate so we headed in. As we arrived, the owner at the front desk didn't even look up to acknowledge or greet us. He kept on watching his iPad. One of the nail techs noticed us walked in and lead us back to get our pedi's. As she was leading us back, she turned to the other nail tech and said "You get the fat girl" and "I'll get the skinny girl" in Vietnamese. Now for some reason, I do not appear to speak or look Vietnamese. Either way, it's not ok for the techs to talk shit. I shot the girl a dirty look, but either she ignored it or didn't get the message. As this lady was doing my nails, I was BOILING inside. This similar situation has happened many times at other nail salons in the past and I usually just end up not going back to the nail salon as my act of rebellion. But I've realized now that I have TO DO SOMETHING. When it came time to pay for the bill, I gave them my card. My last name is obviously VERY Vietnamese. I figured she might apologize after seeing my name, but she said nothing. At that moment, I realized that I had a $50 gift certificate that I needed to use. They had already run my credit card, but I asked them to reverse the charge. The owner looked at my card and said the gift certificate was "old" and asked if I could use it next time. I told him word for word "I do not like it here. I will not come back ever again." He looked at me and said "oh ok"....Didn't ask me why. He figured out how to reverse my charge and I was able to use my gift card. I then had to finish my manicure at this point, which was extremely uncomfortable...but I AGAIN found myself pissed that the owner or nail tech didn't ask me why I was upset. As an owner of a company, you'd think you'd want to figure out what happened. As I was leaving, I felt like it was my duty to explain what happened because it is NOT ok. I very much respect the Nail Industry and the fact that a majority of owners are Vietnamese, but it NOT OK to disrespect your customers by talking about them behind their backs. Enough is Enough. Your clients are the reason that you have a business. Makes zero sense. Anyway, as we were leaving I told the owner that I am Vietnamese and that I speak Vietnamese. I told him that It is not ok for his nail techs to be talking about their customers. I told him it was very disrespectful. He said sorry, but did not ask me for more information. So I left. They probably didn't care to be honest. I hope they learn from their mistakes. read more

We got our nails done on a saturday afternoon without much delay. The nail artist was nice and fast. She evened out my nails and make it the shape I wanted without needing to be redone after the first conversation. The location has two things that I like a lot about nail parlors. Primarily on my list of wants is that they take cc as payment. I never never never carry cash to the way it is with some nail places that "conviniently" have a ATM on premisis but can't take cc is always suspect for me. other that that I don't think there is anything that needs to be said. a quick fast and done nail expireince. read more

Today, I an completely dissatisfied with the service at Twin City Nails. First off, I made an appointment at 5:00 pm and was not seen until 5:15 pm. Then, when I finally sat down Tina the lady doing my nails had a horrible attitude. She was extremely rough and did not pay attention to detail. I had gel polish so she had to use extra time to take the polish off and she made me feel horrible. She was very rigid and cold. Then, when the polish came off she was like whoever did your nails last made them yellow... Look and see then, she said it again three more times. So it made me think something was really wrong and so I asked her to take them off and she was like I don't have time for you... It takes too long! I will not be back, horrible service!!! Twin City Nails are my go-to nail salon. I'm a big fan of pedicures because aint-nobody-got-time to bend in crazy directions, only to see huge mistakes every time you look down. It's been years since the last time I've painted my own toes, which is why I am so thankful for places like Twin City nails. Their location is clean, the staff is friendly, and they have a great selection of polish. The pedi chairs are comfy, and "fun for everyone, if you know what I mean ;). I cut my nails (myself) SHORT, but Yen Lam still managed to do an amazing job with them! I got a gel manicure for $30, incl. removal of the old gel. Yen was extremely thorough, she did good cuticle work and did three coats of polish + varnish to achieve the color I wanted, without me even asking. They have +100 gel colors available. I love the convenient location, close to home, and the fantastic value for the price. (Gel polish by itself is $20). Very happy to find my go-to nails place!! read more

Sooo...this is definitely not the most inexpensive place for a pedi in the St. Louis Park/Minnetonka area, but it's also not the most expensive. That said, coming here is worth the extra few bucks for great service and nails. The thing I love most is that it's so clean! The chairs, floor, counters, equipment are dust and grime free. There are two TC Nails in this area and this one is my favorite - partly because they are a little less busy than the other location and will always fit you in, but mostly because the staff always greet you happily and go the extra mile. In the winter, they give you little baggies to wear over your toes so your polish doesn't smudge with your shoes on. The staff are always laughing and joking with each other - they genuinely seem to be happy at work. I always feel better after leaving this place thanks to the wonderful employees and service here. read more

This place is alright. The salon is huge and doesn't have that strong chemical smell, despite offering the fake nail service. The interior is clean and is simply decorated. The nail techs and receptionist spoke clear english and there was a decent polish selection. The massage chairs are pretty typical. Great massage chairs, big selection of colors, and my nails look fantastic! It was a nice, clean location and the staff was friendly. I appreciated the reviews when I was checking out this salon so I thought I would write one too. I'm a teacher on summer vacation without a paycheck, and I was looking for a safe, affordable, effective place for a mani-pedi while visiting relatives in Minnetonka. That area has so many high end salons that I was pleased to find Twin City Nails, which was just what I was looking for. It's not fancy, just reliable. I received very nice service. The hot towels and leg massage were great. She trimmed all the cuticles, which I appreciate. My fingernail polish looks smooth and is holding up well day 8. I'm happy with Windy City Nails and I'll be back on my next visit to MN. read more

I've been going to TC Nails for several years now. The last three times I've been in for a pedicure & manicure have been very disappointing. I've gone there because its inexpensive and my nails look fresh. I don't go there for a relaxing experience. Two out of the three visits were for a pedicure and I had the same lady both times. She's a bit older and wears glasses. I had jammed one of my big toes really badly and had explained to her to please be gentle with that toe because it's still sensitive. Despite what I said she got right in there and I actually had to tell her to stop...twice...both pedicure visits! Even though I told her to stop and I was physically in pain (shifting in my seat and lifting my foot up) and she continued to put pressure towards it to the point where it started to bleed. I finally had to tell her that I'm actually in pain and to please stop. I honestly should have walked out at that point. I understand you have a job to do, but when the customer is uncomfortable and bleeding you might want to listen. Yesterday (third visit), I went in for a pedicure/manicure. The older woman wasn't there so I felt more comfortable. The pedicure I received was okay. Again, I know I'm not going there for a relaxing massage. It was hurried and my toes looked descent, so it wasn't a big deal. Then it came time for my manicure. The man that works there stepped in to do my nails. I've read past reviews and have warned people to not have him do your nails. During this time, the salon was getting busy and I said that I'm okay waiting if no one is available at the moment and he insisted. The entire time he was looking all over the place at everyone. He was so distracted & rushed that while clipping my cuticles he took a chunk of my skin off and I couldn't stop bleeding. He blamed it on my "dry skin". Today, I woke up with my finger throbbing. It is still red and swollen. Not only that, but when he moved to the other hand he almost did it again until I jerked my hand away. Completely unprofessional. I understand you want to help and get as much business as possible into your salon, but when it comes to the well being of the people that are currently in your salon, I would put 100% off your attention to those people. During the filing, my nails were so uneven and I had asked him if he could even them out. He replied, "what do you mean?" When I explained, he continued to ask, "what do you mean?" I mean even them out! I showed him three nails that were uneven and slanted. I felt personally to blame to wanting my nails to look like the same shape and for him taking a chunk of my skin off. After these last three experiences I will not be going back to this salon. I'd rather spend a few more dollars on a place that I know isn't going to be distracted or physically hurt me and leave me bleeding in the process. The other ladies that work there are great. Like I said, I've been going there for several years which is why I have come back even after the other experiences. Yesterday was too far though and completely unacceptable. read more

5 stars for this place? You've got to be kidding me! I came here for a mani/pedi and their color selection was minimal. They only had 5 essie colors and the OPI colors available were not from the new line. I couldn't find any of the trendy shades that I was looking for. It was also 95 degrees out and when I asked if I could have a cup of water they said they didn't have any. Really? I'm paying $40 for a mani/pedi and you don't have a dixie cup of water you can give me? I'm not expecting a bottle of Evian but come on. The ladies doing my nails did an ok job but my pedicure chipped on the second day. It should hold up better than that. Maybe if they used higher quality polishes and top coats (like Seche Vitte) they would. Overall, I'm not impressed. read more

I tried over 15 manicurists in the area looking for a combination of quality and reasonable price and found Tran. My nails are not easy and she has to build up some of them with acrylic. She does them beautifully, and for some reason my pedicures last longer. She is also a talented nail artist, so if you want something special, she is the one to ask for. read more
