We came here in the summer just for their rotisserie chicken, but it happened to be a hot day so they didn't have any (as Texans, that was wild to us, 90 degrees is nowhere near "hot" in our book lol). That said, Twirling Bird did not disappoint with their sandos. Just look at it, it's huge!! The size alone is impressive, but the taste is even better. The chicken was juicy, crunchy, and super flavorful. We also got the wings, which were a little extra burnt for our liking, but they still tasted great. The sauces are solid too, I'd recommend getting as many as you can. It's a food truck, but there's a really nice seating area tucked further inside with shade, fans, and a hangout vibe. It's shared with other food trucks as well. Must-stop if you're on your way back from the falls.

Twirling Birds is on another level -- the best wings I've ever had in my life. We used to go to them all the time back when they were in Portland, and even though they're in Silverton now, we still make the drive because it's absolutely worth it. The consistency is unreal - every single visit the wings come out perfectly crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor. They're so good that I don't even need ranch. That's how fire these wings are. And the bread pudding? Unreal. It's not too sweet, not heavy - just light, flavorful, and always a delight to eat. The perfect way to end the meal. If you want a spot that never misses, Twirling Birds is it. Worth the drive every time.

I've known them and their food for over 3 years, and 5 stars aren't enough to describe the experience they create for you. I am from Peru, and their chicken and sauces are so similar to ours! The wings.. tenders.. fries.. OMG all so good! Also, the way they talk to you, their warmth, their passion.. Honestly, no other food cart makes me feel like I'm home. I live by Gresham, and if it takes me an hour or more to get there, I'll still drive without hesitation :). Thank you guys. Thank you for the love you put into your food and the energy you share with every single customer.

Had high hopes this would be amazing. The chicken didn't have much flavor and was pretty dry but we didn't pick the option where they cut it, grill it some and add teriyaki sauce. The biscuits were also very dry but since we took it home just sprinkled some water and microwaved with wax paper and then they were tasty. The special brown sugar yam fries were good. Different and have the skin on and are soft, eat with a fork not pick up. Friendly service. Just hope it was an off night and since it wasn't busy maybe stuff cooked too long. But was hoping for more flavor in the chicken without having to add a bunch of sauce. A bit of a drive for us so not sure if we will try again to see.

We love Twirling Bird! My husband and I order food multiple times a week. We have loved every single thing we've ever had here. I live for their Chicken and Dumplings Special and their Chicken Yakisoba Special. I've never liked ribs until I tried theirs. They have the best fries in town and my husband loves their burger. For an extra special treat, get the banana pudding! Get 5! You will not be sorry! The owners, Kalvin and Laura are so nice. We just love them!

Delicious rotisserie chicken with some great sauces to try out. The side dishes sounded wonderful, but I stuck with the Jasmin rice, and it was cooked perfectly. Friendly people serving it up and an unbeatable summer setting in that common area next to the creek. Will be back.

I was visiting Portland, working on a project near Halsey out past Gateway and found myself looking for a healthy place to eat near at the end of the day. The #1 spot that came back on Yelp search was Twirling Bird. It looked great and was only a couple blocks away! I pulled up and walked up to the Twirling Bird Food Truck to order. A super friendly gal helped me decide what to get and about 12 minutes later I had a Fried Chicken Sando and Rotisserie 1/2 chicken in the front seat of my truck. When I opened the Sandwich container, I was amazed as to the size of the fried chicken on the sandwich. Not only was it impressive to look at, it was the most flavorful chicken sandwich I've ever had. Everything about it was fantastic. When I got back to the house, I shared the rotisserie half chicken with my daughter and her husband and my grandkids and it was a big hit! Right then I decided that that would be my regular go to for the next few days when I was out in that part of town. Over the next few days I proceeded to have the chicken sandwich a couple more times and I got a half rack of ribs that were excellent. The operators of the food truck sang to the radio they had playing while they cooked and the atmosphere was great. You should definitely try out this Twirling Bird Rotisserie if you're out in Northeast Portland. I can't wait to get back and try something else on the menu. Great recommendation Yelp!

I am so sad that I didn't take ALL the photos that I normally do. (Sorry, I just ate the food and didn't think about it, I couldn't resist) First off, I will remind you, I am a pretty picky eater. The last 4 days I have been here twice!! I will go again this week and it's only a Tuesday. I'll update photos. This little cart is owned by a husband and wife (I believe, I'll confirm later) they're super friendly, and the food... omg! I haven't been this impressed from a food cart in... ever!! The Rotisserie chicken (thighs take the crown) so soft and moist, I don't get how he does it?! The Fried Chicken Sando...?! I have no words! It's even good when you microwave it! Chicken wings- bomb! Get it plain and sauce on the side, or honey mustard. So bomb - something about their honey mustard. Now... their sides... I can't stop raving about them. Teriyaki green beans(or string beans) I have to get 2 orders each time! Their "smashed fried potatoes" -- genius!!!! Sauces: Fire aioli & Honey mustard!! Did I mentioned my kids cheeseburger was HUGE? You'll thank me later!

Will you ever bring back a veggie burger?

Not enough people order veggie burgers and we end up throwing them away ... we aren't in the business of throwing food away.

How old is the girl in the window. She's so fine she can't be a day over 32?

Older than she looks, but young at heart 🤣💗

Is the rotisserie chicken marinated in a sugar based sauce? Asking for a diabetic.

No, the chicken is not marinated in a sugar-based sauce. When we serve the chicken piece-meal, we flame-broil it on our grill and add our Sweet Soy Teriyaki, which does have sugar in it. But we can leave off the teriyaki and char grill the chicken…

I usually buy both of the BOGO offers, and I've done this a few times in the past, and they've all gone fine, no problems. I get my 4x10pc wing orders without issue. Yesterday I did the same thing - I ordered 2 BOGOs, expecting my usual 40 wings. But when I walked into pick it up, the Asian lady at the counter (I think she's the owner, maybe?) chastised me and told me to limit myself to just 1 BOGO order in the future. Huh? I only got 2 BOGOs, and it's not like the price was so cheap that the restaurant was losing money or something. And besides, I've ordered these 2 BOGOs numerous times in the past. That's when I saw that the restaurant was treating any SINGLE 10pc order as a BOGO. So when I checked out with my 4 10pc orders, the restaurant took that to mean 4 BOGO orders, or in other words, EIGHT 10pc orders. No wonder the lady was upset. Of course, it's not my error, as the restaurant was interpreting the order incorrectly. I even tried my best to explain this to the lady, as well as explain that I've ordered these BOGOs multiple times in the past (and this same lady was at the desk when I picked them up!!), and it's never been an issue. Still, the lady kept insisting she was correct, and that 1 10pc order constituted a BOGO in itself, which makes absolutely zero sense, and not how literally any other merchant I've ever bought from on UberEats has done their BOGO promotions, which I also told her. Anyway, in the future, I'll still continue to order as many BOGOs as I want, I'll just probably order delivery so I don't have to deal with this nonsense. EDIT: I see the owner has responded to my review. I can certainly see how someone exploiting multiple BOGOs to order 100+ wings at a time would be harmful to the company and completely against the spirit of the promotion. But I did nothing like that. Two different BOGOs were being offered, and I simply purchased 1 of each. I've done this multiple times both at this restaurant and at numerous other restaurants that offer different BOGOs, and this was literally the first time that any restaurant worker has mentioned a word about it. The biggest issue is that the Chimcking workers are apparently a bit undertrained when it comes to processing ubereats BOGO promotions, which is why I received 80 wings instead of the 40 I was supposed to get.

Came in today at 8:10 like usual. Immediately told half their menu was, surprise surprise, not available, and that we could not dine in despite being open for another 50 minutes. Everything went about as usual until my daughter asked if she could get a refill, like she has multiple times before, while we were waiting on the food. The girl running the register, who somehow managed to get our 2-item order wrong three times while taking it, refused to allow her a refill. When I asked why not, she stated it was store policy that refills were only allowed for guests dining in. When I pointed out that she was not allowing us to dine in, she smuggly replied "that is correct." Rather than demand a manager, who presumably wadn't present since it was only the two teenagers running the kitchen and register, we've decided this will just be our last trip and advise all of you other yelpers of the substandard service this place has made a practice of providing.

The chicken fingers are huge, much larger than the usual size you get in other places. The serving of fries is also huge. The drink that comes with the combo is small. Diminutive, even. It was too much food for me, but I didn't know how big the chicken fingers are here, because I had never eaten here before. Same with the fries. Two of me (and I'm not a small guy) would have been happy with what I ordered. I ordered Cajun sauce to go with my chicken and that was a terrible mistake. I am from New Orleans, so as you might imagine, I've eaten a lot of Cajun food in my life, and the sauce did not resemble anything Cajun I've ever had. I daresay it tasted more like Mexican hot sauce than anything else, but mostly, it just tasted bad. And not that hot, either. I went back up to the register and paid for another two containers of sauce, and this time the selection was more mainstream, that is, honey barbecue. Which was good. Not great, but, you know, good. The dining area is very basic, very spartan, some inexpensive chairs and tables and a muted flat-screen TV (with closed-caption) on the wall. The single staff person at the register was very solicitous, too much so, frankly. Cloyingly nice, almost to the point of being obsequious. But perhaps I am just too jaded and cynical, other people may love the immediate high level of friendliness and familiarity. Country music was playing loudly while I was eating. After a while I realised that it was not actually country music, but rather, Christian pop music. If you're on the Pepsi side of The Great Soda Schism, you'll be happy here. If you're on the Coke side, you're not going to be happy. I like Coca-Cola, so I ordered a lemonade, which turned out to be not lemonade, really, but water with almost no lemon taste in it. It came out of the dispenser, so maybe the tank was almost empty or something, I don't know. It was water with the faintest taste of lemon. That's what I got for a drink. There are a great many restaurants that do wonderful things with a chicken. The chicken-lover landscape offers up an embarrassment of riches. With that in mind, I think I'd pick another spot for fried chicken. Not because the chicken was bad (it was not), but other things about the place were not particularly appealing to me, and it's not as if the main drawing card here (which is the bird) is so completely fantastic that you brush all the shortcomings aside. The chicken isn't that good, you know? It's good, but not so good as to make you forget about everything else.

The Momo was just simply not good. We got the chili chicken and they were extremely small, over fried, and the sauce taste just like a store-bought, sweet thai chili sauce Lastly, we got the nacho for nacho week and oh my God was that a disappointment as well. It came out extremely cold, and it might be intended to serve not hot, but this was like straight out of the fridge cold. If you look at the pictures they have on the nacho week website, it looked nothing like it. It was a disgrace as it was probably 90% nacho in 10% everything else. If you split up the toppings, it would only need about four or five chips before you've exhausted all the toppings that came with it. Then you're left with 90% of just tortilla chips. I don't know how this place got so many good reviews but either this is a really bad day, but we got three separate dishes that were all bad, but I'm inclined to think that it's just simply bad.
