Looking up river from Hwy 20 bridge to the hotel on the left.
    Bruce And Donna P.

Awesome experience during our 8 days there! Super chill vibe, very friendly, warm and modern aesthetic! The deck over the river with a firepit, bbq and hot tub is fantastic. The staff are all super wonderful and authentic! Very comfortable and contemporary rooms, the main building of suites, looking on the river, are non-dog suites. The dog-centric suites are in a lovely 3-unit building just across the street, and are wonderfully focused on supporting both pets and their owners. It's a quick walk across the street to the lobby, which is more like a big, cool living room, looking out on the large deck and river. We can't remember ever having better service for us and our pups! Oh, and BTW, Joe is the coolest owner and a great singer and Donna is was very helpful... 10 stars! So that was Bruce, this is Donna. I need to say that what was the most awesome part of the pet suites is that you can leave your pups in the room when you go out to dinner or to hear some music in the evening. Lovely walks to take them out in the day but it is really great to have the option to leave them cozied up in their beds. Every one of the pet-suites has its own private fenced yard with a doggy door to it. We have been to many hotels that love dogs and leave them treats etc but then you can't leave them alone in the room or they need to be kenneled the whole time. When it is warm, obviously they can't be left in the car so you are stuck! Our girls, Ella Fitzgerald and Nina Simone, had a great time. So did we!!!

Hiking trails about a short distance away, even for an old geezer like me and his lovely wife.

My wife booked us here for the week before her birthday, 25th of September. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The receivers at the hotel were Joe himself, and Stephanie, I believe, everyone was very friendly and helpful. We chatted with Joe for a while and Stephanie showed us around the place and then took us to our room. She answered all questions and was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. They offer a very nice breakfast which is prepared the day before of your selection from three items, so no going down to a lounge or restaurant to eat. Coffee was Blue Star, very well known in the area, and a lovely flavored coffee. The bed was comfortable and the pillows a bit too soft for my old head and neck but I made do and slept well every night. Spend time in the comfortable rooms or head out for hiking or sightseeing or skiing and snowshoeing, it is all available and TRS is a great place to headquarter.

One of my favorite places in the world to stay! Beautifully appointed, comfortable rooms perched on the banks of the Twisp River. Even the standard rooms have fridges and microwaves and 12-cup coffee makers. The suites offer full kitchens. For dog-owners, they have new Pet Suites!!! A deck runs along the back of the building providing a wonderful place to enjoy a microbrew or a cup of Blue Star coffee. There are even chairs down by the river if you prefer to be closer to the soothing gurgle of water! The common area is so warm and comfortable, with a fireplace, leather furniture, and plenty of tables to enjoy a beverage, play cards, or eat the wonderful breakfast. Breakfast (included) is a couple of egg casseroles, boiled eggs, fresh fruit, yogurt, fresh scones, cereals, bagels, bread pudding, and lots of accoutrements. And award-winning Blue Star Coffee! Walking distance to several restaurants and shops. Can't wait to come back!

Kitchen had everything we needed. Complete with full size refer/freezer, oven, coffee maker and dishwasher.

We had a two night stay for our family in the Twisp River Suites. It was lovely. From the friendly owners and staff, to the beautiful surrounding outdoor spaces. Our room was perfectly appointed with a warm palatte of furnishings. Everything we needed was at hand. The screened patio, as well as, the outdoor patio provided the perfect backdrop for a quiet morning cup of coffee in your pjs or a glass of wine in the evening enjoying the wildlife by the river. Breakfast was great. We loved the yogurt, granola and fresh fruit options. Heartier fate was available too. All served with juice and BlueStar Coffee! Room was nice and dark for sleeping in!

Is this only a dog lovers hotel? Are there any non pet rooms? (Highly allergic husband 🙄)

The dog friendly section is across from the main hotel so the rooms are never crossed.

The parking lot is a rodeo for compact cars only -- if you drive anything bigger than a Mini Cooper, good luck partner. The riverside 'sitting area' is less 'tranquil escape' and more 'Botanical Exhibit: Weeds of the Northwest.' A $20 Home Depot run could have fixed it, but apparently tumbleweed chic was the design choice. The scenic walkway is cleverly positioned right in front of your windows, so the choice is either: (a) enjoy your 'river view' or (b) star in a reality show called People Watching Me in My Pajamas. The walls are so thin you'll know exactly when your neighbor sneezes, flushes, or thinks deep thoughts about life. The western theme? Let's just say it's like someone googled "cowboy wood" and gave up halfway. The mix of cedar, pine, and random lumber scraps feels less John Wayne and more Home Depot clearance bin. And the bathroom? Oh, half of it is in the bedroom. Because nothing says romance like brushing your teeth while your partner is still in bed watching you. Five stars for location. Zero stars for everything else. Would only recommend if your idea of a Wild West vacation includes thin walls, awkward parking, and bathrooms that refuse to commit to a single room.

After our hike, we made our way to Mazama, stopping at the Mazama Store before heading over to the inn, at which point we realized how tiny and great Mazama really is! We arrived to the hotel around 2:00pm and I was happy to learn our room was ready for check in. A friendly gentleman handled the process and though he shared he doesn't usually work the front desk, you honestly wouldn't have known as check in was smooth, welcoming, and effortless. Our room was located on the second floor of the main building, and to our surprise, it was actually a loft style room which was a really fun bonus! The room also had a small balcony, a kitchenette with a mini fridge, Keurig, and microwave (I think) and even though the bathroom was on the smaller side, the shower was excellent... I love a good hot shower with great pressure. After dinner, we relaxed by dipping our feet into the hot tub before spending some time in the cozy common area upstairs which again felt warm and homey. The entire property was clean, quiet, and really well maintained. Overall, the price was reasonable, especially considering the area and the level of comfort. I had researched several lodging options of various tiers around both Mazama and Winthrop and I feel confident that I made the right choice. The Inn at Mazama is a gem for anyone wanting to unwind in nature without sacrificing comfort. I would absolutely 100% stay here again!

We stayed here from July 3-10 for my 30th birthday trip, and I genuinely can't imagine a better home base. In fact, I would go as far as saying Mazama Ranch House isn't just a place to sleep, it's a destination and retreat all on its own. When I was researching places to stay for a week of hiking in the North Cascades, I had a few priorities. I wanted to be close enough to the park that we weren't spending hours driving every day. I wanted peace and quiet, not crowds. Most importantly, I wanted to feel immersed in nature. Mazama Ranch House exceeded every expectation. We stayed in one of the double queen rooms in the Wings, and it was spotless, thoughtfully designed, and incredibly comfortable. The kitchenette had everything we needed, and the porches on both sides of the building were perfect for enjoying the sunrise with coffee and watching the sunset after long days on the trail. Every detail made it feel cozy without sacrificing functionality. One of the biggest surprises was how convenient the location was. We could walk to the Mazama Store for groceries and gas, as well as the nearby restaurant/brewery, yet the property still felt wonderfully secluded. The grounds are absolutely stunning. Wide-open green meadows and fields, ponderosa pines with singing birds, stunning landscaping, hammocks, picnic tables, peaceful walking paths, and a hot tub that quickly became our favorite post-hike tradition. After spending 8-10 hours exploring North Cascades each day, soaking in the hot tub while surrounded by nothing but nature was exactly what we needed before doing it all again the next morning. What really stood out was the atmosphere. Everyone staying there seemed to be seeking the same thing: peace, adventure, and an appreciation for the outdoors. It never felt crowded or noisy, just calm and restorative. Check-in couldn't have been easier. Our room number was waiting on a sticky note at the front entrance, and everything was ready when we arrived. During our week-long stay, housekeeping checked in to see if we needed fresh towels or anything else, and every interaction was warm and welcoming. We also had the chance to meet one of the owners, who took the time to chat with us and recommend several fantastic hikes around Mazama outside the national park. That personal touch made an already memorable stay even more special. This is one of those rare places that stays with you long after you leave. I can already picture myself returning for another hiking trip, a birthday getaway, an anniversary, or simply a quiet weekend to disconnect and recharge. Leaving was honestly the hardest part. I wasn't ready to trade the peaceful mornings, mountain air, and incredible tranquility for everyday life. If you're looking for luxury, you'll find it here in a different way. Not through extravagance, but through simplicity, thoughtful hospitality, breathtaking surroundings, and the kind of peace that's becoming harder and harder to find. Mazama Ranch House made my 30th birthday trip unforgettable, and without question, we'll be back.
