I tried a variety of flavors such as: - 2025 Michael David Rosé (top favorite) - 2023 Inkblot Cabernet Franc - 2023 Red Freakshow Red Wine - 2024 Earthquake Zinfandel - 2022 Zinfandel Lust (top favorite) Ashley served a good handful of individuals, including myself. She was truly so knowledgeable about the wines and super hospitable as well. I appreciated her warm, amiable disposition. It truly made one of the greatest highlights during this visit. I decided to explore around the property. It was beyond gorgeous with beautiful decorations, blooming plants, water fountains + ponds, and so much more. The space was so inviting, it was a great atmosphere, especially for a date or to hang out with friends. Overall, I was amazed by the tasty, house-made wines and dazzling ambiance. They also have food to go, and their pies are legendary Of course, they have a wine club which we have been members of for several years now and that's always a great deal if you like wines on a regular basis. Parking is phenomenal as they have a large area for parking. This is a great place to come for a party such as a birthday party or to meet friends and just hang out for the day.

We stood at the main tasting bar to try four wines. The Chardonnay and especially fhe old vine Zinfandel stood out as excellent to us and we ended up getting some bottles. As there weren't many folks doing a tasting on a weekday we got VIP treatment and had a deljghtful conversation, and education about the wines, from the person pouring for us. We really enjoyed our stay and the surroundings made it extra nice. Compared to the hype of Napa and Sonoma this winery and others in the Lodi area are down to earth and affordable in comparison, especially for tastings. This place very much is worth a visit. We were quickly greeted by the friendly female hostess who offered us either indoor or outdoor seating. We chose to sit indoors to enjoy our tastings of both whites & reds . Normally I prefer reds however in the summer I enjoy a crisp Sauvangion Blanc or even a nice Rose. If you purchase a bottle your tasting fee is waived which is always a great deal. We enjoyed ourselves so much we returned for the Alpine Block party event which included tastings at Stonum Vineyards and two other nearby wineries. This fun filled evening included live music, food trucks, and the Lodi Wine trolley shuttling you back & forth between the wineries. Definitely a good time! I guess I was kinda hoping to meet the winemaker, learn more about their vineyards and purpose for growing certain varietals. I really like this place and I'm hoping to make a stronger connection with the business since I consider myself an advocate for Lodi wines since my hobby is to compare our wines with the best out in the other regions of CA. I ended up purchasing a glass and relaxing in the inviting atmosphere. On my most recent visit, the tasting room was busy--which is no surprise given the quality of their wines and wonderful service. We found out about Van Ruiten while attending the 2026 Lodi Grape Festival. The owner was so friendly and was pouring their new Sparkling Rose and Blanc De Blanc. When we arrived at the winery, they had a good amount of people inside and outside but there was still plenty of seating for either option. The interior is lovely with a beautiful scenic painting on the left wall. They sell cute Knickknacks for your home as well. We ordered a bottle of the sparkling Rose and set out on the patio to enjoy some bubbles under the shade. I love the way they have the vines growing above you in the patio area, it was so beautiful. There was a family having a picnic, so it appears to be perfect for large groups as well. Overall It was a nice experience and will for sure be back again. Would love to see them add a brut to the collection and maybe offer a sparkling wine tasting flight as they only offer a still wine tasting currently.

Man O War reminded me of a hearty/meaty, savory style wine that would pair perfect with a meal as such. Castaway is a cab that doesn't remind me of a typical cab with what I perceive to be the harshness of that style. This one was subtle and smooth. With the wine space at home overflowing, I settled on one bottle... for now! (Barrel #225) Trista was awesome! She greeted me immediately, welcomed me in and got right to telling me all about the winery and story behind the labels, location, family and wine. She was warm and energetic and seemed to really enjoy what she does. Wilson Family Winery also has sangrias and a cider on tap, as well as wine slushies. (I'll have to come back to try these! Today I just did the wine tasting, which included 6 wines for $10- and currently waived with the purchase of a bottle.) Their wine club pick-up parties also sound awesome based on what she was telling me... something to keep in mind for certain. The secret seasoning popcorn is a nice touch as well ;-)
