Terrible service! We when came in as a party of 2, they told us it would be 10 minutes and we just had to sit outside in the heat. A few minutes later a party of 5 came in and they got to be seated ahead of us "because they only had a table of 5". We were told that the manager, Amanda, would not allow them to seat 2 at 5 top. They clearly only care about money, not people or service, so I would strongly urge you to spend your money elsewhere. When we said that we were leaving, Amanda was not apologetic or understanding, just rude! Don't even know what the food was like, but even if it was perfect, it wouldn't be worth it because of the bad attitudes and bad service. This place has so much potential to be a 5-star breakfast restaurant but unfortunately the food just didn't deliver. I love breakfast places that offer interesting meals. If I want just bacon and eggs I can make that home! Here they offer a variety of flavored biscuits- savory and sweet (examples- cheddar/bacon, sage, peanut butter and chocolate). We opted for the fried chicken and biscuits with hot honey and the berry pancakes. The chicken was disappointing. It seemed to be a chicken breast and was dried out. Wow! This place is amazing! The food was incredible. We've been there twice now and will be back. Today we had lunch. My wife had the grouper reuben sandwich with collard greens and coleslaw, I had the regular reuben with fries and slaw. Everything was fantastic and portions were large. They serve breakfast and lunches with alcohol as well. BTW, the Bloody Mary's looked awesome. Weekends can get very busy, we waited about 30 minutes on a Sunday morning. As a southern girl I believe a good biscuit is a thing of beauty and this place delivers! I went here with my fiance around mid morning to try this place for the first time. It has really cute, simple decor, and quick service. The big negative for me was that our waitress looked and acted like she was mad at the world. Also, the restaurant offers 6 or 7 different kinds of biscuits and when I placed my order I asked for the sage biscuit instead of the regular biscuit and she said she wasn't sure that she could switch it. She did, but geez it was just a different biscuit, I didn't ask her to pick the sausage out of the biscuit gravy. All of the other wait staff seemed really nice and welcoming, maybe she was just having a really bad day. But back to the really important stuff, the food! They offer a variety of mimosas so we tried the mandarin and the pineapple mango. They were more champagne than juice, which is fine by me because they were delicious! I ordered the Harley which is fried hogfish and Cajun crawfish gravy over biscuits and my fiance got the biscuits and gravy with sausage on top. They were both out quickly, served piping hot and were generous portions. We both really enjoyed our meals and look forward to returning to try some other menu options! The Twisted Biscuit Diner is my new favorite breakfast restaurant. It's located in Tavares and that's a little out of my way but I've discovered that it's well worth the drive. Every single employee was upbeat and friendly and this produced great energy. All of our meals were served hot and they delivered on quality. I ordered the blueberry pancakes and loved them. The pancakes had crunchy edges and were lightly sweetened. They were loaded with fresh blueberries. I added sausage patties and fried grits to try and enjoyed both of them. read more

This is an adorable diner. The servers know their regulars and are welcoming to the newcomers like us. Everything on the menu looked delicious it was hard to pick. We don't typically eat breakfast a lot but when we do we have to try a little bit of everything. The pancakes are nice and soft. The Texas hash was delicious (brisket is melt in your mouth nomnomnom). The Philly scramble was also good but having it compared to the Texas hash made it difficult to appreciate. Well the sauce is biscuit with gravy was excellent. I don't remember the name of it. It was called the piglet or something. It had a sage biscuit. It was incredible. At the last minute. I decided that I wanted one cheddar biscuit and one sage biscuit, but it was already ready and I made the right decision. He stated unfortunately that day they had many unkind patrons to their staff, and while not an excuse he did apologize and offered to have us back. I appreciate the management taking the time to actually reach out and make this situation right Hi. I would really like to further discuss a situation that happened today that I'm very distraught over. I had a really nice meal with some family and friends here today and wrapped up maybe around 1pm. I was outside near my car then had a manager (or potentially the owner??) come out and start yelling at me assuming I was someone who had just swore at one of their staff? He was heated and I was trying to explain that 1. No. I didn't do that. And 2. Who said that I did cause let me talk to them and then they'd realize it was not me. He then quickly apologized and walked back inside. I had a second individual come out and apologize as well. I guess there was a situation in which someone had yelled at one of their wait staff and then assumed I was the one who did it as I walked out? I have NEVER in my life felt so belittled and offended. And it was in front of my child and my friends. If you're going to accuse someone of wrong doing please be sure it's the correct person before you do. This was insanely uncalled for. It took me quite some time to calm down from this, and even now-I just cannot believe that this happened to me today. I have been wanting to try this place since it is so close to home, but the hours aren't very convenient for me. They are only open until 3:00. It is cute inside decorated nicely and very tidy. Our server was prompt and on point with the refills. They actually serve alcohol but I had a sweet tea. They have Coke products but Coke zero is only in a bottle. My omelette was delicious, very filling. The hashbrowns were overdone to the point I couldn't eat them as they had no flavor and it was not enjoyable at all. The interesting part was the biscuit. I had the daily special which was sun-dried tomatoes and mozzarella. It was so delicious! It didn't dawn on me until after I was eating that the title of the restaurant, "twisted biscuit", is why they have different biscuit flavors, other than just the normal buttermilk that you get other places.
