Oh my goodness, their ice cream is delicious! Twisted Chill came to my church for a nice treat after service. My fiance and I quickly dashed to the truck once the service was over. There was a great variety of ice cream to choose from in different cones and cups. I decided to go with one scoop of green tea ice cream in a waffle cone and my fiance decided on a mint chip ice cream sandwich in a chocolate chip cookie. We were very pleased with how large both of our ice creams were. My scoop was enormous and absolutely delicious. It was creamy with a lot of flavor. My fiance's was also delicious. If I could give Jesse and his team an extra star, I would do it in a heart beat. Jesse arrived early to an event I organized and stayed a little longer after the event ended. He is organized and definitely knows how to keep his customers happy. Although I requested for a certain amount of servings for the event, I asked him if he could serve extra and he didn't have an issue with my request. Last year, I had my first opportunity of trying Twisted Chill, one of the South Bay's supposedly finest ice cream trunks at work. The ice cream truck came, with all hands on deck, to provide us with their best flavors to try. Not knowing much about this truck, I had searched it up on Yelp and noticed all the POSITIVE reviews that this truck received. And boy, was the hype real. First off, portion sizes at Twisted Chill are HUGE. I had never seen such large scoops of ice cream in all my years. The flavors and options that the truck had were pretty standard - from your normal vanilla, to coconut pineapple, and even to pistachio. They even have ice cream floats and sandwiches too. But what had made this place stand out was the endless amount of customization of the ice cream truck. I remember a year ago, I had kept it simple and ordered the coconut pineapple in a single cup. I had asked for just a bit, but got a HUGE portion size. That was awesome! The taste was obviously the best part, and I felt like it was one of my favorite and best experiences with coconut pineapple ice cream. The pineapple chunks were ginormous, the coconut flavor was so sweet and not too overwhelming, and I left with a big smile on my face. Now, a year later, Twisted Chill came back once again to our work campus. This time, they brought a whole new army of new flavors. My boss and I were struggling to pick the right flavor because they had so much! I ended up getting a Cherry Bomb and she got the Chocolate Trance. Just like before, Twisted Chill did not disappoint. I absolutely loved how creamy my cherry ice cream was and was in love with how big the chunks were. To be honest, I have never seen so many chocolate chunks in one scoop of ice cream before. The only knock was that I wished the ice cream was more vanilla based so that you don't get overwhelmed with cherry. We were at the 2013 San Jose jazz summerfest and were seated in the rear section of the main stage sititng on our lawn chairs. In between sets we were doing the lookee loo and noticed this bright blue food truck. Noticed people walkimg away with huge scoops of ice cream. I looked over to where they had come from. It was good, not great. While it wasn't icy, it needed a little more butterfat I give it a creamier consistency. The ratio of fruit swirl to ice cream base was good. For the outsides of the sandwich I got a snickerdoodle and a chocolate chip cookie. The CCC was better than the snickerdoodle, but neither was very good. Reminded me of a less-tasty version of the boxed cookies you get at Costco by the 2 dozen. I first ran into Twisted Chill at San Pedro Square in the early days of Moveable Feast, and I was sort of impressed with the soft serve with the toppings and all that. Cook idea, definitely an eye-catching truck, with or without working blinkers. But now that I've gotten to know the crew-- yes, even Jesse-- I have to say that soft serve and ice cream, delicious though they may be, are the least interesting parts of the truck. The bay area food truck community has some very cool people behind it, these are some of them, which is sort of ironic with the whole ice cream thing. Oh, Twisted Chill ice cream has topped two of my recent mashups, one a praline+strawberry ice cream pair on top of some blueberry coffee cake from Mini Yums, another more recently was peach cobbler topping some churros from Oaxacan Kitchen. Went to the LG Food Feast for the first time on a Friday night and went straight for Twisted Chill (kudos on the truck decor - it caught my eye first!). I ordered the ice cream sandwich - pralines and cream ice cream with chocolate chip cookies - and it was so big I couldn't even finish it. But the best part was the cookies were fresh and soft and the ice cream was rich. I've paid $5 at the boutique type ice cream shop and you get the smallest cup. FroYo....in a truck...delivered to your work...by a hot boy?! Oh yes, that for sure gets a 5 star review from me. :) I generally use Treatbot for our mobile ice cream needs for our corporate events, but the last time we called them, they weren't available. So somehow, someone on our team found Twisted Chill and they were a hit at our last event. Yesterday my team decides they want to throw an ice cream social. When comparing prices, Twisted Chill was the same price as Dippin' Dots, Treatbot, and the Ice Cream Man that does the make your own sundae bar. They were even cheap than our internal caterers. I contacted Jesse and he was able to quickly put together a proposal for me, Worked with me on pricing, and kept the lines of communication wide open. When I requested mochi, he even went out to get some for me! Awesome! Today at the event the things I loved about them: 1. They came early. The event started at 2pm. They were there already when I looked out the window at 1:15pm, and had already finished setting up by 1:30pm. 2. They used FRESH fruit. I'm not sure where people are getting the frozen fruit in the other reviews...but it's fresh..i had both the strawberries and the mangos...no frozen there. 3. They were friendly to all of our guests. A few people asked for just bowls of fruit with no froyo. They happily obliged. If it was me, I would have given them the stankface for sure. 4. Eye candy...both boys serving were adorably hot... Ran into them at the Stanford fan fest with the food truck festival. Not sure if I was swayed by the hot sunny weather, but this was the best food truck at the event. Best fro-yo I've ever had. It's an interesting concept where you load up your frozen yogurt first and then you get toppings (including fresh fruit inside the truck) and pay them. I absolutely love the fruit yogurt flavors, tastes extremely fresh, great texture, and and perfect balance of tart and sweet. Load it up with fresh fruit and it's a nice "healthy" dessert, or you can load it up with various cereals and candy. Surprised at the selection at a food truck! I didn't think that Twisted Chill could get any better, but they surprised me once again. They changed their concept from froyo only to ice creams. I was disappointed at first, until I tasted their ice cream, then all was forgiven. We tried the banana walnut with their chocolate chip cookie to make an ice cream sandwich. Kudos to Twisted Chill for offering a non-dairy frozen dessert option via a food truck. That said, I'm thankful I'm not a lactard. TC serves four soft serve flavors. Vanilla bean, red velvet, mango, and pineapple were on rotation the day I checked them out. TC is light, icy, and bordering bland. I'm glad the lactose intolerant no longer feel left out, but I feel sorry that you have to settle for a sub par dessert just so that you can avoid mild discomfort, diarrhea, and/or gas. On the plus side, TC's frozen desserts are only $4 flat, regardless of how much soft serve you can swirl into your 12 ounce-sized cup or how high you pile on the wet and dry toppings. That unlimitedness just sounds like they're challenging me to build the tallest mound of soft serve possible, but then it'd make me feel guilty that I was taking advantage of a small business... and that feeling is much worse than the uncomfortable feeling of diarrhea and/or gas. TC's fresh fruit and variety of cereals are nice, but the supporting cast isn't supposed to shine brighter than the star - the soft serve. Not a hater; just sayin'. read more

I tried it out at the Quakes game last night and was not impressed at all. It was evening and, therefore, a bit cool. Nevertheless, the yogurt started melting almost immediately after I turned around to go back to my seat. The yogurt was bland and icy and looked gross as it melted. The toppings weren't even that great. It makes me sad when Reeses Pieces can't make my dessert a happier experience. Okay, well, I didn't realize it was non-dairy until I decided to write this review, so I don't have a comparison, but it wasn't a good experience. Maybe this is what non dairy fro-yo is supposed to be like. I don't know. I didn't think it was particularly good. I'm glad my lactose intolerance doesn't affect me enough to have to resort to this as a dessert....Although I guess it'd make dieting much easier. Simple, creamy ice cream that doesn't need bells and whistles because it makes it's own. I had a single scoop of Black Marble Raspberry in a cup and was not expecting to be wow'd by the ice cream; I was pleasantly surprised. I was thinking it'd be chocolate-raspberry (my favorite dessert combo) but was still happy with the vanilla-raspberry combo. The swirl of raspberry was soft and jam-like, not at all icy like the marbled ice-cream flavors that you'd by in the store; I loved it. I was quite surprised at how much I like Twisted Chill's ice cream. The serving is huge! Late at night during San Jose's Sub Zero Festival there was a continuously long line at Twisted Chill. At first ice cream from a truck didn't sound that great, but everyone leaving the truck looked happy with their huge cones. I caved in and got a single scoop of cookie mint in a waffle cone. The serving of ice cream is large and in charge. It should be for $4. The texture of the ice cream is creamy but still runny. It's not as thick as Mitchell's but it still manages to be creamy. I hope that makes sense. On a hot day it will melt a good amount, yet this makes for a good licking. The amount of cookie is good, plus there's still some crunch to the chocolate cookie. The waffle cone is your average store bought waffle cone yet at least they pack enough ice cream down into the cone. I was surprised to learn that they also sell self serve froyo from the side of the truck; however, at the time of purchase they were not selling any froyo. Perhaps they realize they can make more money by quickly scooping ice cream? Also, I'm not sure what makes this place "twisted". All of the flavors sounded not out of the ordinary. I caught them at a fundraiser at Cupertino High School. I thought they only had froyo and wanted some because it seemed like they had some unique flavors, but they only had ice cream this day! I was disappointed, but perhaps this may have been a blessing in disguise because I ended up getting the ice cream and thoroughly enjoyed it. The flavors I got were Banana Walnut and Coconut Pineapple. Both. So. Delicious. The flavor combinations aren't that crazy but they aren't ones that you commonly see when getting ice cream. Banana Walnut was a banana ice cream base with walnuts in it, and Coconut Pineapple was a coconut ice cream base with chunk of pineapple in it (as opposed to a mixed flavor base). They didn't have any artificial taste to them and actually tasted like ice cream versions of the ingredient. Banana and coconut are both flavors that have artificial counterparts that taste different from the real thing... None of that here. The ice cream wasn't overly heavy (I find that Treatbot's ice cream, for example, can get a little too creamy after a few bites) or sickeningly sweet.
