First timer. I've heard a few times in the past how great these burgers are. And the burger I had was pretty good but was cold along with the cheese fries I got. I ordered to-go and clearly that was a mistake. It took about 45 mins to get my food. The staff was great but the service was much slower than I had expected. Trying out the new twisted root burger in coppell. I was very excited that coppell opened in downtown coppell. The service was a little slow. Took a long time to get our food. The side portion was little comparing from other twisted root. The buns was cold. I had it nice and toasty over at Plano location. I don't know. I guess different locations has different rules. I ordered a shake and it took forever. I know making shakes doesn't take that long. I went up to the counter and I asked where's my order and my order wasn't made at all. Love Twisted Root! Their menu is fresh and unique. Their food is delicious! The atmosphere is fun. They have an outdoor seating space that backs up to a park and kids splash pad. Thrilled we have another restaurant in Coppell especially in Old Town!! Great burgers, fries, & shakes! Consistent quality & like the other Twisted locations. The pickles are always good--I like the bread & butter pickles!! The Twisted team is nice & working out the kinks of being a new restaurant. Glad expectations were set about the wait times & To-Go orders. I love the fact that it is connected to Quincy's & the patio garage door opens for when the cooler weather comes. Great burgers and fries. Awesome decor and feel. But some really terrible ideas they need to fix. They use a loud speaker system to announce orders....and it's a busy place. It's loud!!! There is constantly some 17 year old girl screaming for chewbaca to come get his food. It's maddening. We also found it odd that the dining room was a good 15 degrees warmer than the initial ordering room. Food was great. But I wouldn't come back because of all the yelling. PS. We also sat at the bar for 10 minutes before the bartender checked on us. We had to sit there because no tables were clean. read more

People must be crazy or lack taste if they give this place anything less than 5 stars. I got a burger with bacon, pepper jack cheese and a fried egg. It was amazing!! Yeah I paid $30 for two burgers, two sides of fries and two drinks, but this isn't fast food so the price matches very well for what you get. Love it, I just don't feel like finger typing right now. So go try it ;-) Uhg, yelp don't like my short review. Burgers are great, and I love the exotic meat options (had Elk today). I've had several of the types of burgers and all were great, so I can't really suggest. Also, grab a Twisted Mule on tap, very refreshing (both physical and mental) on these hot Texas days. Have a seat out on the patio and enjoy. P.S. after eating, check out the "restrooms", which are outhouse style with a community wash area. Great local feel, and hard not to run into someone you know. Probably the best burger I've ever eaten, and the fries were even better. So after debating 4 different options I went with the Big Tex and regular fries. I grabbed my fresh made lemonade and stood in front of 5 barrels of pickles. I picked the sweet and spicy and the ranch pickles. The sweet and spicy were to die for. Great balance of heat and sweet, I went back for an extra dish of these! The ranch ones, I would skip those. They had ranch flavor for sure, I'm just not sure I want ranch flavored pickles. They weren't my thing. My burger was a solid medium, so it wasn't over cooked and still was plenty juicy. The patties themselves were seasoned so well you could eat them just on their own. I topped mine with some of the bbq sauce on the table and my burger was fantastic. The fries were super crispy. Most places just phone in the French fries, but these were well seasoned and all of them were crispy and not soggy. Do yourself a favor and grab the chipotle ketchup from the table to make the fries even better. Run, don't walk to get a burger here, it's excellent and gets busy fast at lunchtime! read more

Please, please, please don't bother bartender "Taylor" while he's trying to work. It's excruciating trying to keep up with one's social media accounts whilst working/socializing with coworkers/adjusting one's ill-fitting backwards-setting ball cap, and dealing with the likes of cumbersome, onerous customers must not be tolerated. Observing his plight, I tried to lighten his burden by ordering my own food at the counter and refilling my own drinks. I hope he's okay! I just feel awful having burdened him thusly. I thought paying $11 for a burger and $24 for drinks would be salve for his wounds, but I woefully miscalculated. Jason and I did correspond in two emails. He asked for my address to send me a gift card. That gift card was never received. As I stated in the previous review that I was not after a gift card, just my feedback being answered. In the emails he told me that they never received my email on their main page, which I will conclude was a technical error on the site, because it said " Email sent" on their page. The Togo glasses are apparently sized due to eco friendly, recycled cups. I appreciate that, and understand. It still stinks, but it's for a good cause. He updated his response to say they were now doing Togo. That's great for other clients and an improvement. I wish them well! read more

There are so many good gourmet burger places in Dallas, so compared to my other favorite burger places, like Hopdoddy or Grubs, nothing really stands out. The restaurant was very spacious and had cool décor. I thought this place was located in interesting neighborhood - there is a playground for kids and nice coffee/dessert places nearby. Have been a patron of twisted root since 2014 first off. Secondly, my experience was less than satisfactory. Hardly anyone in the store. I ordered a burger and fries for my wife and myself. Waited 25 minutes passed before I went to the front counter, and behold there is a burger that is sitting at the little bar waiting to get put together. After I stand there watching the burger sit for about 5 minutes or so, I get addressed. The guy tells me that he was waiting on fries. I asked him to remake the burger because it has been sitting at least the amount of time I was standing there. By the way there are like 6-7 employees and everyone standing around. When the cook hears that I'd like the burger remade he says well he had better pay for a second burger. When at this point I explain that I would now like a refund. There were 2 tables with people and a group outside. Literally 30 minutes without fries????? 1 burger 1 order of fries ???? To say the least I'm am done with this location and it's extremely poor service. I would send everyone who reads this to rodeo goat in cypress waters. I ordered the weekly special burger. It was the 1/2 pound burger with cheese and carmelized onion on Texas toast, or at least that is what they advertised. It was a $12 burger, so I was expecting some WOW. Unfortunately I was like more like wow what a disappointing burger. The burger wasn't even hot and on the dry side, the cheese was barely there...I couldn't taste it, the few onions that were on the burger were slightly fried (oily and still crunchy), the toast was soaked with butter (a poor attempt at actually toasting it), my fingers poked through the bread it was so soggy and I think there was a sauce sprinkled on the bread, which didn't add to the taste. Overall a very poorly made burger that costs way to much and took a long time to make. On the plus side, the staff was friendly and the dill pickles are good. read more

This appears to be a new location for twisted root. It's set in a cute part of town but not off the main busy road.You have to be purposefully when trying to get to this location. The line was easy to work through. They do not have a menu posted up in the place but there are menus by the door to pick up and review as you are in line. They have exotic meats which is one reason I love this place, but the menu is not clear on how it works. From what I understood you can get any listed burger combinations with buffalo or the meat of the day (today was kangaroo). The menu does not state it but it appears that there is a up-charge for the exotic meat. For a buffalo burger and fries and no drink I paid about $17.00 for lunch. They do not call you by name or an number but they give you a paper with a celebrity's name in it and that is the name they call when your order is ready. Its actually fun. Now for the food: The fries were seasoned and really good and then they have a seasoned ketchup at the table which made the fries taste even better. The size and the taste of the burger was good. So overall it was a good experience with good food. read more

I am not a burger person, so for me to give a 5 is a big deal. The burger was amazing, flavorful, juicy and the toppings took it to a different level. I chose the hand cut chips instead of fries and they were crispy, flavorful and very delicious. The customer service from calling in my order to picking my order up was excellent. Let me start off by saying I usually LOVE Twisted Root. We've been going to the Deep Ellum location for years and have always had a great experience. When we discovered the Coppell location we were excited because it was so much closer than Deep Ellum. This particular location doesn't compare to the other. The few times I've been here service and food have been "meh". The first time we went our burgers were way over cooked. My husband had a fried egg on his and it wasn't even cooked properly and my burger was so dry it was almost painful. In addition they apparently had run out of straws and lids so we ended up without those too. The second time we went the food was much better but the staff was pretty lame. It was obvious they'd rather be anywhere else but there. I'm not saying this location is *terrible* but it's not great either. Which is a bummer because the Deep Ellum location is so far away but for now that's the location we'll stick to. read more

Maybe I never had wagyu beef until today, but I never tasted a hamburger like it. So juicy and full of flavor and cooked to a perfect medium. The bread had that fresh fluffy flavor that complimented this wagyu experience! I walked outside to take a phone call and they chased me down because they were worried about the quality of my meal (and it was during lunch rush). I appreciate this kind of service.
