My personal favorite is a breakfast burger complete with a fried egg, pepper jack cheese, bacon, and the works!! Staff is very friendly and the call system is hilarious and fun!! My daughter had eaten at one in Waco, so we were excited to try it when we were visiting in Lubbock. HBs were definitely well done . As well as the FF. My two year old wasn't impressed and she loves FF!! So that was sad. Fried pickles weren't bad! read more

I stumbled upon this place during a blizzard. I had walked for hours and was repeatedly attacked by bandits from Burger King. I fell to the door and Albert the one eyed fry cook pulled me in and cooked me a Kangaroo Burger. Once I was able to regain my strength, I assembled a posse. They advertise a burger with vegan ingredients. We just came from the restaurant and were told that they had no oil to saute onions and mushrooms to put on a vegan burger and that they could only saute using butter and they told us they put butter on all the buns including the vegan burger. read more

I was told by lots of people that this is the best burger place in town. I have to strongly disagree. I went here before a movie at Alamo. I got the Kevin Bacon. I asked if it had anything besides blue cheese and bacon and was told no. First, there was lettuce and onion included. Then, I got back to my seat and noticed it was blue cheese dressing on the burger. I despise blue cheese dressing. It is nothing like blue cheese. They offered to scrape it off and put blue cheese crumbles on instead. When you're willing to pay three times a fast food price, you don't expect a fast food faux pas like scraping off ingredients. They said they would give me a fresh cooked burger instead. However, I ordered my burger well done and they just gave me a patty they had been prepping for another order, so it was medium well instead of well done. The burger was not seasoned at all. Frankly, the burgers at Whataburger taste far better. For a place that prides itself on fresh, high quality ingredients, the blue cheese had almost no flavor either. This was one of the most mediocre burgers and lame experiences I've ever had. Next time, I'll just eat at the movie theater instead. Save your time and money! Go literally anywhere else. read more

As other reviewers before me, I'm a Dallasite and am very familiar with Twisted Root. There are other burger joints in Dallas that I prefer before Twisted Root, but since we don't have those places here, we decided to give this location a try. Really wish we had gone to a local place instead. Atmosphere here is great. I love the open feel and the casual vibe of it all. The front door is weirdly not in the front on the prominent corner where you think it would be -- that's the exit. Once you find the right door, come in, glance at the menu above the counter, and make your way to the register to order. The premade burger combinations are your best best. Anything build-your-own gets expensive QUICK since hamburgers start at $5.99 + $0.75 per topping (ouch). We ordered the Ranch Hand, Freshman 15, and an order of cheese fries ($5.00). I noticed many reviewers from late last year noted that their burgers were overcooked. They must have done some additional grill training since then as ours were cooked just about right. We still felt the patties lacked flavor, though. DH said his Freshman 15 was decent. The Ranch Hand was okay. I was really surprised when we got our $5.00 order of cheese fries (you are only allowed to pick 2 toppings, which includes ranch dressing... any more than 2 toppings is extra). Don't expect to buy an order and share them with the table. These fries come in a little paper boat with a sprinkle of cheese and a sparse serving of the 2 toppings of your choice (for us that was a sprinkle of crumbled bacon and a few slices of [canned] jalapenos). It was pretty pathetic - we were disappointed, especially when similar burger joints charge $6 for a large plate of cheese fries with plenty of fresh shredded cheese, crumbled bacon, fresh jalapenos, and ranch that's big enough to split among several people. For the nearly $30 we paid for 2 burgers, a tiny order of cheese fries, and one soda, we felt like we didn't get the quality that we expected for the price tag. read more

I come here all the time! When my family and friends come to town and want to eat somewhere local, I bring them to Twisted Root! Their burgers are amazing! They have almost every burger option you can think of! Don't be afraid to go a little out of your comfort zone and try something new on your burger, you won't regret it. Their drinks are pretty darn good too, they even have their own specialty drink. I'm pretty sure it's a Moscow Mule mixed with Arnold Palmer. They also have unique fountain drinks. 10/10 would most definitely recommend Twisted Root. read more

I love this place! The atmosphere is great and the food is always yummy. They let you choose from different kinds of game and your meal is completely customizable. Food is kinda pricy, by myself I usually spend about $15-$20, but the portions are large. Every time I eat here I can only eat half my meal because they give you so much food. They also offer many different flavors of pickles to choose from. This place is always packed but it's definitely worth the wait! read more

They have wonderful food and milkshakes! The staff at the bar isn't always the friendliest though. If you haven't been, I highly recommend trying out their burgers and a side! It's all delicious! I'm torn. EXCELLENT burgers -- 5 stars (really). Profound weakness in the beer menu -- minus 3 stars. Three of the draft taps are occupied by Bud Light, Michelob Ultra, and Coors Light...REALLY? The few interesting beers that they carry are mostly in aluminum cans...REALLY? At least consider carrying them in bottles, if not replacing one or more of the carbonated waters on tap. read more

Came to Twisted Root with our girls volleyball team. I got the Freshman 15. It was a big burger and passed the look test. The taste was ok, nothing to write home about, but ok.
