We just moved to Windsor and we are so happy to find this place! Their ice cream is sooo good! I have tried many flavors and not yet get disappointed at any flavor! My favorite is Thai tea and coffee. The ice cream texture is so smooth. We always get the waffle cone and it's so good and crispy. The staff is so friendly. One thing I don't like is the ice cream taco. It looks like this ice cream taco got prepared in advance and kept frozen until someone order it. We tried the vanilla cookie dough but the taco part, ice cream and cookie dough were super hard to eat as it just came out of the freezer! I really would not recommend this ice cream taco unless you want to hurt your teeth (I mean it's not that bad but it was really hard for us to eat). It could just be me and my husband who don't like it but we rather go for their regular ice cream which is really delicious (and easier to eat). Also! their first topping is free so don't forget to get it! They still do not do samples which is sad. Hopefully they can start giving out samples again soon. The store is very nicely decorated. Little pricy but tasty af. We usually get our cones to go and enjoy them while playing with the pup in the little dog play area right outside the creamery. It's pretty popular so plan to wait in line sometimes, but the staff is friendly and works the line well. I think cones shouldnt cost more (when cups are free) but such is life, and if they had little free dog treats (the way Starbucks does) that would be clutch. read more

Cute shop. Not a huge selection of flavors but that's ok for an artisanal place. Two Vegan choices. They DO offer samples now which is a must if you're going to kick down $8 for two scoops of ice cream. The flavors look good on the chalkboard but do not translate well when they reach the mouth. The sample spoons were more flavorful than the scooped ice cream. Dark chocolate peanut butter - the only peanut butter detected was on the sample spoon. If there was in fact peanut butter in the scoop it was well hidden. Dutch Chocolate looked anemic and tasted that way as well. No chocolate flavor. The one that seemed most promising after tasting was coffee heath bar. The sample had a good coffee flavor. But there were no toffee pieces in the scoop big enough to know it was supposed to be toffee. Jus a couple of tiny chocolate fragments. I don't know if they skimp on flavoring or if the liquid nitrogen process affects flavor intensity but you'd do better to walk over to Olivers and pick up a pint of Ben & Jerry's coffee toffee bar crunch. Service was what you'd expect now - adequate TL;DR big disappointment. Won't be back won't recommend. read more

My sweet 100th review goes to this sweet ice cream shop in Windsor. If you've read any of my other reviews you probably know by now that I have a salty tooth! But on occasion the sweet callings come. And I'm thankful that Two Dog Night Creamery was there to satisfy! Upon entering I was greeted by the sweet aroma of waffle cones and sugar...and the friendly staff. I browsed the photo menu of Sundaes - delicious looking but more decadent than I was up for today. I debated about the intriguing ice cream tacos but wanted to try a mix of flavors so opted in the end for a waffle cone. The waffle cones are LARGE and allow for up to 3 scoops. I got two: mint-Oreo (a yummy combo of two classic favorites) and vanilla, plus cookie dough topping. They use local Straus milk and liquid nitrogen (no air!) to make their organic, dense, creamy ice cream. Cool, literally! I loved the waffle cone and enjoyed the creaminess of the ice creams. The flavors are a little more subtle/subdued. My cone came to $8.50!!! I haven't purchased ice cream in awhile so that price tag surprised me, but it was a huge cone full of ice cream, all made with local, high-quality ingredients. If you're in Windsor looking for a tasty, cool treat, check out Two Dog Night Creamery in the same Shopping Center as Oliver's and PizzaLeah! We visited today for our first time after my son had some dental work done and needed a cool treat! Little did we know about this place and what a cool (pun intended) experience it would be!!! I got him the cotton candy ice cream with sprinkles and mini marshmallows (#9) and after the show of watching it be made we tried it! Wow! I wish I had gotten my own! I was in the area and went inside because my husband and I were curious about the name of the place. With a name like that I thought there was bound to be ice cream for dogs. There wasn't any. I was surprised when the staff told me the meaning of the name. She said a two dog night is a saying. It means that when it's cold outside u need one dog on each side of u to keep warm. We ordered the sundaes, and I decided to add a scoop of peppermint to the peanut butter sundae, I thought it would have all the fixings as what I ordered just a switch one scoop for peppermint? Staff did not explain the cost of substitutions but I paid $9 for a "build your own" which they did not specify that... very pricey. We stopped for a special treat when we were out shopping The ice cream was expensive but delicious, however the service was disappointing. it wasn't that it was inefficient. It was a bit pricey--$8.50 for a 12 oz shake. The hours on the door stated they're open until 10PM. They did give me a sample-- of the vegan lime toasted coconut. Good flavor, refreshing, but not, understandably, as creamy as the full dairy peach. There was a small bucket of used spoons on the counter so it seems like they DO offer samples. This is our second visit- small little corner shop. I love the thought we could walk the dog over -put it in the tiny fenced dog area while we enjoy our ice cream. The ice cream is good- small selection but the variety appeals to everyone. The prices are a bit expensive but a scoop of ice cream is a solid scoop. My favorite is the Oreo mint- with a bit of fudge. Suggestions for the owner: 1. Although you MAY offer wooden spoons, please put them out. Only plastic non recyclable spoons are in the wood bin labeled "clean" on both visits. 2 if you can recycle the spoons - let your staff know. They told us it was trash. 3. Free topping Tuesday? I read that on yelp AFTER our order. There was no clear sign and staff didn't mention this. 4. It wasn't until I ate more of the ice cream that I came across a hard, frozen chunk of peach; I thought it'd be fresh peaches for ~$5 ice cream. Overall, ice cream was not as creamy or thick as I'd like but it was ok. My friend got their mint oreo without trying it and it was the strangest flavor: it had a bitter, alcoholic-like taste (like too much mint extract). She didn't finish it unfortunately. This place is great. My favorite vanilla ice cream of all time, and the other flavors are amazing too. They are very friendly, quick, and helpful. When I shared that I have celiac, they explained which flavors don't have gluten (many of them), and they got out a clean scoop to avoid cross contamination. There are dairy free options too. The associate said that she could not give me a sample, I asked "How will I know if I like it?", she replied "Guess you'll have to try it and see, it is a best seller". I was thinking to myself, yes, I'm asking you if I can try it. I was disappointed that she wouldn't let me try the flavor before purchasing. Not sure if this is a training issue, this is the first time I've experienced an ice cream shop that did not allow a sample prior to purchase.
