Margherita Pizza I love the crispy bottom of the crust so yummy
Monica Q.

We will definitely be coming back. The man who took our order was so nice to explain everything to us and make recommendations. We all ended up trying diff things and everything was delicious. They offer great specials and a 30 in PIZZA . We will need to order one of those for our next party.

The pizza game in Houston is a tough pill to swallow for overall credibility of the food scene and no place epitomizes this more than Two Guys Pizzeria. As one of several pizza spots (#1) in the immediate vicinity, this might seem like a good sign for West U / Med Center pizza lovers. Unfortunately, I can't give them my blessing given how subpar the pizza is and more importantly, the unpleasant service. Med Center Plaza has a number of bizes plugged in and Two Guys is located between Southwell's (#2) and SportsClips Haircuts. On the surface it looks like an ideal casual eatery to come in, enjoy a slice, and chill out. There's outdoor seating and decent number of tables and chairs on the interior. There's always a steady flow of people, but it's never that busy. Normally, I try to grade on a curve when it comes to H-Town pizza. Whenever a place calls themselves a New York pizzeria, I have to grade them on how close they are to the real thing and here's the verdict: This is not New York pizza. And in some ways, it's not even good pizza. Granted the schtick here is their giant slices, but this is hardly comparable to giant slices even in NYC (#2). The pizza here is messy in that the cheese doesn't necessarily hold well, the crust is gummy, and the sauce is very mediocre. I appreciate novelty in many forms, but never with poor execution. I would highly recommend adding peppers and parm to bring it to form, but that's not enough to save this pizza. There's more than just pizza but their calzones, subs, and pizza rolls are not their primary attraction and it shows. The subs are kind of just slapped together and unlike the pizza, is not exactly an abundant combo of fixings. Their pizza rolls and calzones are stuffed quite well, but a semi-salt bomb flavor wise. The service leaves a lot to be desired. I've seen mishaps for pizza toppings or charges in my takeout experiences here but they're usually resolved quickly upon noticing. However the issue is that I've had to check *every* time and more often than not, something is up. The staff behind the counter isn't the warmest, which would be a non-issue if the food was outstanding. One is looking at about $60 for a full giant pie and roughly $25-30 for the others. Slices range from $5-9 and toppings are .75 extra. They have a range of other little things such as auto-gratuity for 4 people or more, no coupons accepted, and 49 cents for credit card usage. __________ (#1) It might not look like it, but there might be a half-a-dozen pizzerias in just these 2-3 blocks. (#2) This is how you do it. Exhibit A: https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/koronet-pizza-new-york?select=vimS24S37lbEn-BKpse11Q

Supreme Pizza Slice

Service was quick. Pizza was made to order. I got a supreme pizza and ordered the combo, which includes a slice, salad and a drink. I ordered an extra slice thinking they were not that big as pictured, boy I was wrong. They are huge, almost the size of my arm. I did not eat the second slice, I took it home for the next day. Great place and vibe. Prices were also decent. Will definitely go again when I have a trip to Houston!

Large slices!

A solid, family owned pizza shop near a bunch of hospitals and universities. They have a 30 inch pizza available - usually giant pizzas are a red flag indicating dodgy quality. Not here. Their slices are huge and tasty. I was unaware their slices were giant. I ordered two slices and a soda by myself for lunch, and they sort of raised their eyebrows in surprise. Upon the food arriving at my table, I laughed and asked for a box to take slice 2 back to my hotel. If you're in the area, give this place a try. (Also, yes, I know most people think you should get loads of toppings. I'm a plain cheese guy.) They also had delicious looking desserts, but after the great meal, you'd probably get those for later.

Stopped by for lunch and loved it . Pizza crust was perfect and the pizza tasted amazing. I'll definitely be back to try other menu items . The staff was very friendly and the restaurant was clean .

This is genuinely the worst pizza I've ever had. I got the lunch combo with a coworker and we both agreed that the pizza had some sort of taco seasoning taste. Maybe cumin. It was very off putting. I rather eat a frozen pizza. You're better off with domino's or something of the sort.

Awesome pizza and well priced . I will be back for another day out with the family . I even recommend this location to a friend a soon as I left .

University Special Pizza Slice & Med Center Special Pizza Slice

Best pizza slice in HOUSTON. They have 30" pizza and that's HUGE. They sell the same pizza by the slice. UNIVERSITY SPECIAL IS MY FAVORITE. Highly recommend.

Food was good as usual and the pizza slice is huge. The $10 lunch combo with salad is a good deal for lunch.

Happy because I'm thinking about two guys

I love this place. The single slices are so great and big. I swear I'm not a bot. Filling up the word limit.

Pepperoni and sausage with red onions in the sauce
Nick W.

The service was wonderful. Very welcoming and inviting. The place seemed ok overall. We ordered takeout. Wait time was 15 min. We ordered a medium pizza with pepperoni, and Italian sausage, 6 buffalo hot wings and 2 cannolis. The wings were cooked perfect, and had good flavor. The cannolis were more frosting based than cream, which I'm not a huge fan of. My biggest complaint was the sauce on the pizza. There were chunks of red onion all throughout the pie. I called and asked why red onions were added to my order and it was explained to me the onions are part the sauce. The reason they were so big is that they must of not gotten chopped fully according to them. They were extremely nice and understanding when I called and offered to make me a new pizza or any item off their menu another time. My mom and I couldn't eat the pizza because we both do not like red onions.

Greek calzone

So you may be be thinking "Wow, I don't know about paying $18.95 for a calzone," but let me tell you those are two meals in one. They're huge! The Greek calzone is my go-to at Two Guys.

Fantastic Slice of Margherita Pizza togo !!!
Michael C.

I came here Friday evening and picked up one slice of Margherita Pizza togo. I hadn't been to this place in many years. I would say since the summer of '98 or up to the fall of '00 when it may have possibly had a slightly different restaurant title, but can't remember for sure. Anyway my humongous slice of Margherita Pizza was awesome, very fresh, thoroughly cooked and very delicious. Imo, it's one of the best margherita pizzas in the Houston area. The crust was toasty, crispy and not overly soft. The cheese was very good and moist with savoriness. The basil, herbs, spices and tomatoes were all very tasty on this pizza with none being raw or burnt, just right. The slice had a somewhat sweet taste with some extra herby or season flavor in the mix almost like an aftertaste. I am very glad I finally made a stop to this cafe after so many years. Two Guys, Solario and Amalfi are my go-to spots for excellent margherita pizzas. Great, friendly service on this visit.

The super large pizza was cool but the cheese was very chewy and flavor was just not there.

Horrible Service. Do not order from these people. Pizza is mediocre at best and their drivers are idiots who cannot find an address.

The fungi is everything I would have hoped for as someone obsessed with fresh mushrooms, truffle, and garlic. The dry rub wings are also seasoned extremely well. The fresh dill ranch dipping sauce is fantastic. Finally, the staff there is awesome and it's great to watch Masters at their craft. And they also have weekly rotations of custom pizzas To keep things fresh, no pun intended. I will definitely be back many times. Next time I'll try one of the desserts. They looked very unique.

From the crowd at this very small establishment I was impressed and excited to try out choices of Pepper Vodka and Pepperoni. The Pepperoni was traditional but a limited about of pepperoni as you can see in the photograph, noting about of the ordinary. The Peppered Vodka sauce was excellent, but again limited sausage. The crust was probably the best part of the pizzas. Talespin is what I'd consider an "average" pizzeria when comparing to the "non-chain" establishments around town. Still not as good as you'd get at a proper Italian restaurant, but better than Domino's or Papa John's.
