I ordered my son's first birthday cake from Two Little Monkeys and was not disappointed! Our theme was "the ONEderful things you will be" based on the children's book. Deanna did a great job executing my vision based on my requests. I had asked for the cake to be light, with a strawberry and whipped cream filling (not too sweet since A) my son has never had cake before and B) We are Asian lol) and it was a complete hit! There was literally no leftovers. Minus 1 star only because while I found it convenient to be able to communicate via email, it took quite a while for responses. At one point as the party date was getting closer, I got stressed thinking that I may need to start over in finding a baker to make this custom cake. They are a small family business, however, so I do understand and will likely order from them again but will do so in advance. read more

This place was recommended to me so I had high hopes. I will say the looks if it were pretty good. But the communication was not. I was honestly stressed out as to whether or not I would actually have a cake for the event. The taste was also disappointing. After spending that much in a cake it was dry and dense. I found this little bakery from recommendations in a local mom group and I'm so glad! The cake for my daughter's third birthday was not only beautiful but also incredibly delicious. It was easy to decide on a design and I just trusted that I would love it, and I did! My daughter was so excited for her "purple cake" and especially enjoyed eating the delicate fondant flowers. I cannot say enough good things about Deanna and her husband Kevin and their cakes and business! The ordering process is so quick and easy! They were responsive and communicated over email and text. I found them via a Burbank Facebook group but they're also on Instagram where you can see Dee's beautiful work and find the number and email address to contact them. I've gotten multiple custom cakes from her and she always works with me to make sure it's exactly what I want and goes above and beyond every time which I appreciate so much. My nephew requested a Monster truck cake and Dee made it even more than we could ask for! My niece specified a "mericorn" cake which is a mermaid and unicorn mix! I don't think it's a real thing but Dee made it come to life with unbelievable details from the colors, to the edible tails and unicorn horn down to the SPRINKLES! Their cakes are unbelievable but the best kept secret is their PIES!! They have occasional pie sales especially around holidays and they are the best around. The key lime pie (!!!!), banana cream pie and chocolate silk are to die for. I'm no longer allowed at my family's Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings unless I have at least two of these pies in my hand for my family who is obsessed. I always come to yelp to find whatever it is that I am in need of. I came to look for a gender reveal cake for my baby's gender reveal, I found a few different bakers near me but was drawn into Two Little Monkeys Bakery for their amazing reviews. I immediately contacted Deanna and we started the conversation. She was such a pleasure to work with from the beginning and responded quickly and with such friendliness. Her selection of cake flavors and fillings was amazing. I sent her over a sample photo of what I wanted and she quickly responded with pricing and answered all of my questions. I decided that she was the one for us! When I picked up the cake I was blown away by how beautiful it was and how amazing it looked. My family and friends were all in awe when they saw it and we excitedly waited for the moment we could cut it to see the gender of our baby. When we cut it and saw the blue sprinkles spill out from the middle it was so awesome. The cake itself had these amazingly yummy layers of funfetti cake and whipped cream vanilla custard, everyone went crazy over the flavor it really was so delicious. The cake itself was firm and moist and the filling was creamy and delicious. Even on the hot day that we had it on, not to mention outdoors, the cake held up very well and not one bit of it was left once we cut it. Deanna was such a pleasure to work with and I shared her info with my invitees as they were asking me to. Lack of communication from having spoken to the owner for four months. Always told me that they would get back to me due to whatever excuse and then did not get back to me. Proceeded to tell me a couple of weeks before that they would email me the invoice then never did. A day before the cake delivery they demanded payment or they would not be able to make the cake. Which is completely understandable, yet there was no communication of the rude demands on that specific date beforehand. It was the day of my sons actual birthday so I had no idea they would request payment in such a rude way with so much attitude while I am in the middle of celebrating with my family. Figured I would not want to support such a rude person when I was patient with them for months and they could not give me patience in return nor give me advanced notice of when they would like to receive payment.
