I do not recommend this cake service. I was so upset with the cake! I had my wedding at the Knollwood Country Club in Granada Hills, and Jaqki's Cake Creations is a vendor that works with the venue. The cake was very small for 80 guests, and it looked nothing like my inspiration picture! I was not satisfied nor impressed by the design of the cake. The first place we tried was so mediocre that I actually said, "I don't think wedding cake is supposed to taste good, it's just supposed to look pretty." Jaqki even went out of her way to make a confetti flavor for me to try. What stood out to me with Jaqki's cakes was they were moist, flavorful and the frosting wasn't too sweet. I also appreciated how Jaqki recommended the combo filling of chocolate and Bavarian cream (I didn't even know that was an option). However, as far as decoration execution- it could have been better. I wanted a rustic, tree stump vibe and sent her a few examples; however, it looks like it was rushed through. Photos attached of inspiration pictures sent and what was delivered. Horrible costumer service, this lady is a un professional as it can be, She did a cake for me in the past, wanted to do a second cake, and got mad cause I called on a day that she was closed, because I was not aware of her being closed, I apologized, I messaged her the next day, to enquire about having a cake done for my church, and all I got was a rude call saying she can't make it, mean while I already had an appt. With her, I am a physician and there is no way I would ever run a business or allow my employees to speak to a person the way she does. Hmm... I am sad to say, that this cake was a massive and I mean massive disappointment. The cake was the DRIEST thing I've ever seen. It was awful. We ordered a cake for 130 ppl and had pretty much all of it leftover. No one liked it. Sad to say since it was so expensive. The bread was so dry, it was really bad. Jaqki was amazing! I ordered a two-tiered cake for our upcoming engagement party a week before the event and Jaqki was able to squeeze us in for a 30 min cake tasting! She was very friendly and helpful and easy to work with. When I was undecided between choosing the second flavor, she was so patient and eventually helped me make a confident decision! I went with her well known marbled cake with Bavarian cream for the top tier and the bottom tier was white chiffon with strawberry, both very delicious. Her frosting alone is to die for!! It's a combination of whipped cream and buttercream, making it the perfect combination, I promise. It's not overly sweet, punch you in your teeth and blast you with sugar, but a more delicate and pleasantly palatable sweetness that will keep your fork scraping for more. We picked up the cake the day before the event and kept it refrigerated. When we served it the next day, the cake was still moist and just as tasty as when we sampled it during our tasting! Amazing!! I highly recommend using Jaqki's Cake Creations if you are able to. Her prices are very affordable, I called around to several other bakeries and Jaqki's prices were 40% cheaper! The fact that I was able to get a super delicious cake at such a reasonable price at the last minute makes Jaqki a godsend, truly! Her bakery is small so I would recommend taking only 1-2 other people with you while doing a cake tasting. Parking is generally easy as there is street parking right out front and a small private lot in back. If you show up early, there is a Starbucks right down the street if you want to sneak in some caffeine or kill some time. Jaqki is definitely going to be my go-to-gal for all future cake needs, her work adds that special something to those special events in your life, I will be recommending her to all my family and friends :) THANK YOU JAQKI!! Okay, so I was really nervous about coming here when I was reading the reviews. A few people were saying she was difficult, nickel-and-dimed for everything, and didn't have fresh cake. WRONG! Apparently, you get a set type of cake (there are a LOT to choose from) and you kinda play with color and design and flavor. I cannot even BEGIN to explain how tasty the cake was. I have been craving it everyday now! :( I had my mom, sister and fiance with me, and she let us try 4 different types. We chose the marble cake with vanilla custard. Although, the lemon was a close 2nd! Oh, dear Lord was it scrumptious. And I normally don't like cake icing!! She was super sweet, patient, and funny! She even gave us pointers on our trip to Hawaii for our honeymoon. Once my cake is made, I'll post a pic of it to Yelp :) It's a small cozy little place, (almost a hole in the wall). I never write reviews but wanted to take the time to share my experience. I needed a last minute custom cake made and called Jaqki and she asked me to come in the shop to discuss the cake further. It was a pretty simple cake and I did not expect much because I knew it was so last minute. She was extremely busy and had four weddings to do on the weekend I needed this cake and she still was kind enough to squeeze me in. The cake was done right when she said it would be and it looks phenomenal. Not to mention that she went above and beyond what she said she was able to do.
