I always ordered my birthday cakes from Helena, always a nice service i have worked with the owners for years when they would make my cakes, i think i've been coming to them for over a decade and i always have a lovely experience. Her Pink champagne is always my absolute favorite, every time i'd order her cakes i'd always get that. There kind hearts always show threw there work. i love this cake shop and i highly recommend coming to them for any cakes. Always on time with cakes, designs always beautiful, and there pricing is always Great! and most importantly best cakes i've ever had!! i love there flavor range and how they all taste my absolute favorite!!! i love them and will always order from them!!! here's just acouple cakes i've ordered from them over the year. i have nothing but amazing things to say about them. my favorite cake shop.

I was recommended by many people to have them do a custom cake for me. And they were right! They were open to ideas and made the entire process quick and painless. The cake was the hit of the party. Not only was it gorgeous but it tasted amazing! The cake itself was moist and the filling was sweet without being overwhelming. Did I say it was possibly the most beautiful cake I've ever seen? It was. And It definitely stole the show. Not going to lie, the price was high but they are willing to work within a reasonable budget. And the quality of ingredients is top notch. If you want a show stopping cake call them. You won't regret it.

I spent $250 on my kid's 1st birthday cake and it was totally worth it. Of I ever get married, I'm going to have this place design my wedding cake. I wanted a chocolate sheet cake with fondant and got exactly what I wanted. The cake was HUGE and everyone complimented it. The pic below doesn't do it justice. Thank you for your business.

I am a long time customer of Helena Wirth Cakes. I have been doing business with the Manager (Mary) for 4 years now. Every summer, I make an appointment with Mary 2-3 weeks prior to my birthday and she always is eager and ready to bring my ideas to reality in her creative space. Even after we have finalized all the details, she will contact me a couple times prior to the pick up date just to verify the details or to suggest new ideas. I have purchased my birthday cake every year for the last 4 years at Helena Wirth Cakes. This year for my 30th Birthday, I came to Mary very excited for my 30th birthday cake. The cake is themed with ideas from my favorite TV series. Once again, she created the perfect cake for my birthday and made my 30th birthday very special! She is an Amazing Woman and her business produces perfect Cakes!

Working with Helena Wirth was so easy! They absolutely delivered on the costume guitar cake! Everyone was blown away! Can't wait to work with them again!

    Ugly boob cake

I was extremely disappointed. First it was a lot of money for such a small cake. It was confusing to look at because we weren't sure if it was a butt cake or a boob cake. The way they designed the front of the boobs did not look like a bra. We are pretty sure they took what was supposed to be a butt cake and just put a bra on it because the boobs were so far apart. When we went to the store and saw the display model of the cake it was huge DD for sure. But when we open the box we got A's. I wouldn't recommend. Negatives: expensive, super sweet frosting, thick fondant, small cake. Positives: moist bread, good strawberry mousses When we picked up the cake the lady saw the disappointment in our face she gave us free candles trying to make up for it. I would've preferred some of my money back. I do wanna point out that the top of the bra was perfect when we picked it up the cake got squished when we put it in the refrigerator.

The owners are extremely nice and helpful. They were attentive and communicative! The cake looks AMAZING. It was exactly what I was hoping for when I ordered it. I got ube flavor, and it's SO. GOOD. I will definitely be coming back for cakes in the future! Can't say enough good things about this place. Worth. Every. Penny!

Oh my gosh, where to begin. Found this bakery through Yelp, and I am so happy. I gave them a vision of what I wanted for a custom cake and they made it happen. They were very easy to talk to, which is a huge plus! The cake came out beautiful and the cake was delicious. I ordered this cake for a baby shower and I had several people ask me where it was from. The cake was moist, flavorful, and just the right amount of chocolate. I was worried that the event was outdoor and I wasn't sure how the cake would hold up. It was 92 degrees in the middle of San Fernando Valley , but the cake was just delicious when we cut into it! The decor stayed intact too! Highly, highly recommend!

I can't express how happy I am with this company. I saw their pictures on yelp and noticed the attention to details on their cake. I called and spoke to Mary. So this is the thing, one of my kids bday is on July 14th and the other is July 15th, so if course I celebrate the two together, we do have a huge bday party. I explained that to Mary and showed her an example of how o wanted the cake. I told her that it's for two kids and we needed to, pretty much, split the cake in two. The theme was going to be Ninjago and oh my, we were so in love with the cake. Mary listened to all the colors, the favorite characters, flavours, eveything. Even the way she packed the cake because the party was at a park in the middle of summer. Thanks Mary for making the cake so special and unforgettable. You deserve 10stars!!!!

    Owl Cake!

WOW!! Just WOW!! This place went above and beyond. I went to 2 cake tastings because I changed my mind and deviated from my original plan. Originally I wanted a small cake and cupcakes - then I changed my mind and wanted a big cake and sans the cupcake idea. Our party had an owl theme. Moses went above and beyond. First I will tell you that their cakes taste fantastic. I went to another place once and the cakes looked cool but tasted bad. These taste great. We ended up getting the pink champagne with raspberry creme and the top cake was lemon with lemon creme. It was fantastic. I love lemon and my only regret was that I didn't get the bottom cake lemon so there would've been more of it - it was good. Now - the above and beyond part. I was on a budget and when I changed my order I couldn't afford to pay any more than I already had. So I told Moses what I wanted and the 3D owl was out of my budget so I settled for a flat cut out fondant owl to save costs. Guess who's socks were knocked off when the cake showed up looking awesomely scrumptious AND had the cutest 3D owl on top!! He totally went ahead and added it, free of charge. Surprise!!! This place is the best. Great price, even greater cakes and customer service went above and beyond what I expected. I will be a loyal customer for any other parties I have. btw - I read other reviews and I am not sure what people expect the place to look like when they come. It's not a bakery where you buy cookies and stuff so you can't just walk in off the street to buy baked goods. But it's clean and has a couch and a table where you can look through photo albums of their cakes and sit discuss your needs. What more do you want? A pedicure? Updated: I just realized that the bottom cake was not pink champagne like it was supposed to be. I only noticed now because I finally had some of the leftover and although it was great - it was vanilla. Bummer because this shop would have been absolutely perfect. It didn't make a difference to the party and the cake was still great. I'm only gonna knock off a star because you guys were so awesome about the decoration of the cake, the style and the price, but Helena Wirth, please know that although I loved your cake and it didn't ruin our party, it's kind of a big deal to get the cake flavor wrong.

Their cakes are delicious. This is my second time ordering from them personally, but my friends order from them for all of our events. This time, I ordered a specialty cake and some cupcakes for my Hubby's 45th birthday. They did an amazing job!!! The cake was marble at the top and red velvet at the bottom. We also had lemon cupcakes. Everything turned out great! By the end of the night, all that was left was the collar and sleeves. I drive from Baldwin hills to order their cakes. They haven't let me down yet. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because Im not sure about pricing. They also have you come in and taste all the flavors. I gave them a picture of the cake and they duplicated it perfectly!

Graduation Cake by Helena Wirth Cakes
    Jacqueline S.

Even though I graduated almost a year ago, I still can't forget about my amazing and delicious cake!! I ordered my custom cake for Helena Wirth Cakes in Sherman Oaks. My family and I had ordered from them for previous events and have never been disappointed with their service and beautiful cakes. I went to the consultation with printed pictures of different elements that I wanted my cake to include. Right away they were able to draw me a sketch of all my ideas combined into one. My favorite part of the experience was definitely the taste testing. They bring you a variety of flavors and let your try them in order to pick out the perfect one. I picked Marble and Champagne Strawberry which were both delicious. They also offer delivery services for an additional fee which I highly recommend if you're ordering a larger cake. At the party, my cake was a huge success and tasted even better then when I sampled everything. It looked even more grand and beautiful then I expected it to be. The details were gorgeous and it looked like a piece of art. We ended up having a lot of cake left over which was something my family and I were not complaining about. I highly recommend Helena Wirth for their reliable service and ability to make unique and beautiful custom cakes.

Best cake ever! I ordered a race track for my son's birthday. It was exactly what I wanted! Thank you! I will definitely order all my future cakes from here. If you haven't checked this place out, go now! You won't regret it. 5 stars all the way!

I'm from the Bay Area but I've been to Cafe Dulce several times. My wife and I really like their Hong Kong Tea Latte and their Matcha drink, as well as their various donuts and baked goods. In the morning rush they can be a little busy but the staff work hard. On a recent visit I saw people eating their steak breakfast burritos, so I ordered one for myself and a coworker. The burritos were reasonable size, the steak was seasoned well, and the breakfast burrito had potatoes in it (I only like breakfast burritos that have potatoes/hash browns/tots in it). Mochi Twist ($5)-- Nice and dense mochi texture? I guess it's hard to describe but it's not hollow and airy like a typical donut. There's some chew to it. And it's not too sweet! Blueberry Roti ($4)-- Flaky crumble on top and blueberry jam?? YES YESSSS. I liked this so much I'd definitely go back for it. Blueberry jam is so underrated and it's rare to find it in a pastry! Makes for a good sweet lil treat. Hot latte ($5)-- Perfect!! No complaints. Not too milky, not too light. Good ratio. I was actually kind of worried ordering a latte because not every place does it right but it's good here! Iced blueberry matcha ($6?)-- I see lots of good things about this drink on here but ooooooof... it missed the mark and by a LOOOT too. It was green sweet cereal milk. Where's the matcha? Where's the blueberry? It was so confusing because I see the green and I know I ordered matcha... but it's just sweet milk! And it's not even blueberry flavored milk. Did they forget the blueberry jam? Syrup? Whatever they use? Because it just tastes like the milk after a bowl of Frosted Flakes or something like that. Very sad, very disappointing. Ended up tossing after a couple sips. ANDDD for those matcha purists this is NOOOT the place for you! They have it pre mixed in a milk gallon. So we just saw green milk coming out of a gallon into this cup like yeppppp ok expectations immediately lowered. Anyways, hot latte is good and the 2 pastries I got were good! Steer clear of the matcha!!!

Previously the lemon one and the most recent was the Raspberry Pistachio which I was impressed by as I just fancied sweet and refreshing combo of white chocolate and raspberry. The pistachio added more texture to it for sure. Same as any Levain cookies, best enjoyed warm and fresh out of oven. The Cookie Milk Latte was actually the main reason bringing me here, yet I was bit let down by it as I was expecting more malty cookie flavor in the drink. They're also very on-trend, whenever a Korean dessert goes viral, they usually have it here. Recently, they even started selling butter tteok, and I heard it was one of the first places to have it in K-town. I highly recommend the salted bread. Honestly, I think it's even better than the famous spot everyone talks about. My favorite is the corn cheese, it's especially delicious when it's warm. I also tried the Korean chamoe (melon) smoothie, and it was very refreshing. It tasted like they used real melon, since there was a slight natural tanginess that made it even better. There is free parking, though the lot is a bit small. They also have both indoor and outdoor seating, but the seating area is somewhat limited too

There were endless selection of salt bread and different flavoured buns which all looked delicious. As we were browsing and deciding, the lady at the counter was kind enough to offer us a sample of the butter rice cake. The butter tteok tasted pretty good on the spot so we bought a pack of 5 back home along with a hot and spicy salt bread and corn soboro. The butter rice cakes were already cold and hard when we got home, the inside was dense and chewy in a bad way. I didn't want them to go to waste so I tried reheating them in the over for a few minutes. It was warm but the texture never recovered, everything just got more dense and hard. The hot and spicy salt bread looked like a winner, but when we bit into it, the bread was just crunchy and overly buttery without a lot of flavour. The inside did not have the soft pillowy texture you'd expect from salt bread. The filling was a budget hot dog and some corn mixed with mayo. We cut the bread in half and my boyfriend said his piece had way too much mayo and mine barely had any. I grabbed the corn soboro thinking it would be delicious since it was corn season but was the most disappointed by it. I reheated the bread again to get the cookie top to crisp up. The soboro top didn't have a lot of crunch or flavour, it was just a layer of sweetness with no texture. The corn cream filling was not good, the corn was dehydrated and had no flavour at all. It honestly tasted a bit like canned corn that's over baked, I ended up scooping it out because the bread was better without it. Maybe it's better to go earlier when the baked goods are fresh and eat it there instead of taking it home.
