Good service and a friendly environment. Just adding more words to hit the limit so I can post this review

Check up the place on the way, food is Mexican style, big portions Service: hard to say, server is nice, but finally my order is not as what I want, so I cannot fully enjoy my food Ambiance: big restaurant, maybe vintage style?

Basic breakfast scrambled eggs, sausage links, fries and white toast (yummy toast with the jam they have on the tables)

No frills, quick and easy breakfast while on the road. There are several options from typical breakfast to omelet etc., pancakes and so on. We chose the basic breakfast with 2 eggs, home fries, choice of sausage link and choice of toast. Every table has its own homemade jam so yes, it was so so good. Coffee was good, kept being refilled when throughout the time we were there; not very strong but they do carry the sugar in the raw so it's a winner in my book. Service was fast and those ladies do a great job managing the tables and traffic. The restaurant is very homey; takes you back to having breakfast at your grandmas home. Most of the clientele here is regulars because the servers know everyone by first name. That's a great touch from a service perspective. One thing though: cash or check only. They do have an ATM on site so keep that in mind if you do want to pull cash out (both your bank and this machine ($2.50) may charge you to use an ATM outside of network). There is an Alpine Bank ATM across the street as well if that works best for your needs.

    Huevos Rancheros - love!

Swoon-worthy! On the advice of our server, I got the chicken tamale breakfast (comes with eggs and beans). They make their tamales in-house, and they were fantastic! My husband had the huevos rancheros (which I had the 1st time we ate here, and can attest they are delish!). This is our go-to whenever we are in the Aspen area. This is located in downtown Basalt, and I can't recommend it enough. The staff are also super personable! ****they only take cash, but there's an ATM literally across the street (the one in the restaurant was out of order)

    Cinnamon swirl pancake

That cash or check only thing is really annoying. Half portion is as good as a regular full portion, tbh. Still a lot of food. I think my favorite was the cinnamon swirl pancake. It really did not need any syrup because it was already sweet enough. Coffee service was a little slow even though it was not a very busy morning.

Full order huevos rancheros with pork chile verde $13

I got the huevos rancheros and added green chili. It was delicious! It needed more green chili and more kick, but they only had Tabasco at my table and that didn't fit the bill for me. Coffee was great and they kept my cup full. It was a good breakfast and it was fairly fast as well. Complaint: this place is cash only. I'm not going to dock stars for this because service and food was good. But damn! I keep running into this near small ski towns. It's not a huge deal especially as they have an ATM, but come on now! It's 2018! I can pay with my phone at most places. I hate carrying cash and I really don't want to pay your ATM fee. Merchant services is not all that expensive nowadays and is pretty critical for a business. Rant over.

Steak and egg scramble. Great value !

Had a great steak and egg scramble this morning. $13 and it was superb and large. A real diner feel. Service was fine. Food was better.

Great breakfast spot, great service, and great coffee. We had the Huevos Rancheros, and the Breakfast Burrito w/green chile. Portions were very large and filling, service was extremely friendly and accommodating. Cash only

It is warm, unpretentious, and packed with the kind of local energy you can not fake. The burger with sweet potato fries is the move, the fish and chips delivers, and the menu hits that rare sweet spot of comfort food you actually crave after a long day. The real reason we will be back is the service. Chloe and Kendall were the stars of the show, sharp, welcoming, and genuinely on point without ever hovering. If you want a place with honest food, a solid pour, and a staff that makes you feel like you belong, Brick Pony just earned a customer for life.

I had "The Regular" burger with a side of sweet potato fries, and it was so good. The fries and burger were excellent. My friend ordered two big beers and really enjoyed them. We got good service from a teenager who was kind of awkward but very attentive. I didn't bring this up because I didn't want to bother him, but the menu clearly says that you can add cheese, mushrooms, and avocado for $1, but they charged $3 for it. I was wondering if I had somehow misread it, and that they charge $1 for each extra topping, but the receipt said the avocado was $2 and cheese + mushrooms was $1. I do not like a misleading menu and price discrepancies. It ended up being around $28 after tip, which was pricey for just a burger and fries at a casual bar.

I visited this restaurant with my cousin, I am a visitor from out of town, because she had eaten…read morehere before and had a good experience. I received the complete opposite impression as soon as we sat down... The sign said see the host stand to be seated, so as we were making our way over there a nice young man told us to pick any table we would like. My cousin said the river view was very pretty, so we chose a table with that view. That table, along with a few others, had not been cleared/cleaned yet (which we didn't have a problem with but apparently they did). We sat down and a very rude server came over and essentially asked why we were sitting at a dirty table and that they have a system with the host desk. We said we didn't mind, but again they seemed to have a problem - because she walked away and the bar tender came over and asked if we checked in with anyone. She also seemed to have a problem with the fact that we sat at a dirty table! And then a third server came over and said "Can I get you anything else to drink besides a dirty table?" At that point, we just left. One rude encounter, okay, but 3 different people?? Absolutely unacceptable. We will never be eating there again and I will be telling my family to do the same.

MUST READ PRIOR TO VISIT…read more We dined at Tipsy Trout on Friday evening, March 20th. The dinner itself was good--two beers, a burger and fries--and the price was reasonable for the area. Our waitress was also great during the meal. Unfortunately, everything that followed completely overshadowed the dining experience. When we sat down on the patio, I took my wallet out of my back pocket and placed it on the table. After finishing dinner, we paid and left. About 5-7 minutes later, I realized I had left my wallet behind and returned immediately to retrieve it. When I got back, two new guests were seated at the table and said they had not seen a wallet and that the table had been cleaned before they arrived. I spoke with our waitress, who told me the manager had cleared the table, so I checked with him as well. He said he had not seen it. At that point, it became clear that my wallet had gone missing while still on the restaurant property. I had an AirTag in the wallet, and its location never left the premises. I searched extensively and asked multiple staff members if they had seen it, but no one had. Eventually, my friend found my wallet in the alley behind the restaurant, near a cigarette tray and some brush. The wallet still contained my cards, but my ID and $5 cash were missing. I returned to speak with the manager again about the missing items and got no meaningful help or resolution. I filed a report with the Basalt Police that evening at the restaurant. An officer came out, took the report, spoke with employees, and began reviewing the situation, including obtaining security camera footage from the restaurant. Early the next morning, the police department returned to follow up, speak with staff, and search the property. Later that morning, I received a call that my ID had been located in the trash room associated with the restaurant in the same alley area where the wallet was originally found. I was informed by law enforcement that the matter is under investigation and that multiple individuals of interest had been identified. Credit to the Basalt Police Department--they went above and beyond to recover my ID and follow up on this situation. I have not heard from ownership regarding this situation. While the food and service during the meal were good, the overall experience was unacceptable. Having personal property go missing on-site, later recovered in an alley and trash area with items removed, combined with the lack of accountability or follow-up, is not something I would expect anywhere. I would not recommend dining here based on this experience.

Do not continuously touch your hair. You work in the food biz, & we DO NOT want you constantly running your hands through your ponytail, then touching our food. 2. Girl, I made 40% tips when I was a server because I was warm, friendly, & authentically cared about my guests. Perhaps it's just your personality, but you were cold, not friendly, & mostly ignored me. Your $$$ loss. Here are some tips to provide good service: 1. Smile & make your guests feel welcomed. 2. Do not ignore them for 15 minutes after you serve water. Please take their order w/in 5 minutes.. 3. Work on your aloofness. Be warm. I am an extremely generous tipper when I have good service. You made me feel like you wanted me to leave. 4. Check in on your guests to see if they need drink refills--especially when they are eating spicy food. 5. Your livelihood depends on your demeanor. Be friendly if you would like a nice tip. If not, you deserve zero! My food was fine for what Zane's is. But a meal is ruined by bad service. Warm, friendly, excellent service can make all the difference in the world when the food is mediocre. Let's do better next time! :)
