It is such a relief to find a specialty shop where the staff isn't snobby! We spent over 4 hours in Two Seasons this week getting geared up with new Ski's, boots, and lots of other snow-goodies! I can't thank Taylor enough for his expertise, assistance, and most of all patience! I couldn't be happier with the equipment, and they even busted their butts to get the setups done same day! 3 sets of ski's! Totally amazing customer service! I recently came here for some fixing on a fixed-gear bicycle. Not knowing much about bicycles (I'm moving within the month, and my work is a quarter-mile away....gas is expensive!) I took off the front tire of my bike (given to me by a good friend) to see if I should get some new tires and inner tubes. The guy behind the counter was very nice, and told me that they have a few more months of life before they start getting ready to burst. Since it's a big change for me (car to bicycle, every day) I thought I might as well get new inner tubes and tires while I was at it. Picked out some nice red-wall tires, and brand new inner tubes. Left for home, and realized that the flimsy "rim tape" was in pieces, so ending up having to go back to get some. THEN had to come back AGAIN because I thought I had gotten the wrong size (can you tell I'm new to bicycles? :-)) All in all, they were very, very nice, and helpful. No pressure on buying anything more expensive then it needs to be, and that's always nice in a specialty shop of any kind. And I agree with the other reviewers: This place lacks the "pretentious bike rider" feel and attitude that you see in a lot of shops today...and thank God for that. If I have any more problems with my new bicycle, I will be coming to this place specifically for their expertise! read more

I hate to give a local business low ratings, but the customer service today was absolutely terrible. I really wanted to like this place, but after my interaction with Rich, I decided it wasn't worth it. I brought one flat tire in about a week and a half ago but I was convinced it had a punctured tube. I am saying this right now: I have NO expertise on bikes or sports gear related to cycling. I made that pretty obvious on several occasions the first time I stopped in. A nice girl possibly around my age or younger was pretty helpful, letting me know that she does see it was leaking and that I can bring in the rest of the bike if I wanted them to look at it. I kept forgetting to bring it in and finally threw the entire thing into my car over the weekend to bring to the shop. Fast forward to today, I walk in and it's two guys, one being Rich. I wheel the bike in on its back tire and let him know I left a tire here last week to be looked at. He says that my lever for the tire to attach to the bike is missing; I told him that I brought it in with the tire but he insists that it was gone and I must have lost it. Great, so it is my fault. Whatever, that's fine. He tells me they had to do some straightening of the tire itself because it was bent and overall cost is $10. That's not bad I think, but of course this is where the customer service gets worse. Without even so much as glancing at my bike, he tells me that nothing is wrong with the tire and it's just flat. I told him that every time I ride on weekends, it has lost a good amount of air so he proceeds to explain condescendingly that I should know any tire needs to be at 65lbs of pressure when riding and even after a week of having last pumped it, it'll drop down to 55 lbs. Okay, I appreciate the bit of advice, I said, but I've never own a bike. (Honestly, I have owned a bike before but I have terrible luck in which I will only own it for about six months at a time, from about August to January, as they are usually stolen - no lie, it has happened 5 times in my lifetime). After hearing this, he disclaimers with "I'm going to go into preacher mode and I'm not trying to school you or anything, but..." then starts to tell me that this is what happens when you buy a bike at Target or Walmart, because there is no one there to educate you in the operations and handling of a bike. I told this man that it was a gift for my birthday, and he said, "Well, he definitely didn't do you any favors by buying this bike at Target or Walmart." Exact words. So... you're basically saying my boyfriend is an idiot for trying to be nice and purchasing me a bike from a store that doesn't overprice like specialized shops? What exactly should I do at this point, sir? Return it? Chastise my boyfriend for being unbelievably inconsiderate for not paying ridiculous amounts for a bicycle just so he can get educated on how to get proper maintenance? Exactly what is your recommendation because I came here to obviously get lectured. He then proceeded to "suggest" that I purchase a lever, which they happen to have misplaced but are not willing to admit, because "we want to see our riders enjoy their biking experience" and that I should purchase one now while looking for the one that was "misplaced" at home and return it once it's located. We live in the Chicagoland area, buddy, an area that is known for fluctuating weather - I'm not going to be riding this weekend or anytime soon. I did my best to politely decline but did purchase a gauge because I had intended to purchase one to begin with. I complete the transaction, he helps me load the bike and the now detached tire into my car, and said "Good luck." I understand that stores like these have passionate owners/employees who care about what they do and this can be a great quality to a store. But it would be greatly appreciated if the condescending tone and attitude towards those who do not share the same enthusiasm could be filtered. Do not expect that every person that comes in knows as much as you and if you see that they don't, don't proceed to belittle their lack of knowledge or their significant other's unintentional error of giving a gift without an instructor attached to the gift itself. I'm giving this two stars for their pricing, but deducting three for that man's horrible attitude this evening. I will not be returning and will take my business (and purchase of the 'misplaced' lever) to another bike shop. read more

Quality, Service, Selection and friendly faces - what more could you ask for? Being a novice to cycling I needed direction and someone with a lot of patience to help me out - I found it here (Thanks Chad!). I didn't want a cheap "store" bike but wasn't looking to spend an arm and a leg either - found the perfect bike at a great price. I was able to buy all my accessories while there and have them install them (for FREE). I love the fact their bikes come with free maintenance checkups. Unlike other bike shops that seem a little on the stuck up side, the guys at this place answered all my questions, showed me how to adjust the bike and didn't make me feel like I was clueless. We didn't end up buying out bikes here, but would have preferred to. It came down to a great deal on older models at another store. I bought a 2012 in 2013 and I believe my boyfriend got a 2010. Decided to revise my review of Two Seasons. My boyfriend brought his bike in after he was in an accident and ended up needing a new Chain and cluster (not related to the accident). The Technictions did a nice job replacing his chain and cluster. When We went for a late night ride we thought there was something wrong with the way his bike was shifting. It ended up being my boyfreind forgot how the gears worked on his bike and he caused an issue were it wouldn't shift correcty. In my last review I said it wasn't fixed correctly and want to say this wasn't the case. Two Seasons was nice enough to fix his issue though and correct the problem eventhough it wasn't there fault. The store here is also quite nice and offers a great selection. Prices here tend to be fair as well and the staff knows there stuff. Over all a great place to shop for a nice bike. read more

Over the years, I've bought three bikes at this shop- two Treks and a Marin. The turnaround time between purchase and delivery was minimal, and service has always been great. I recently brought my mother's 1970s Schwinn Suburban there for a tune-up- we weren't in the store 30 seconds before one of the techs had pulled the proper tires out of the back room- I was impressed! Rich and Tyler really know there stuff when it comes to fitting ski boots. I've been skiing for 50+ years and have never had my boots fit so well. I've been to a lot of different ski shops in the chicago area and very few people have the knowledge and experience these guys have. My wife had trouble with her first fitting and they got it right in the second trip. It's a great little shop. Not the biggest but they have an excellent selection of equipment. I am the constant shopper, looking for the best deal matching the best service. At Two Seasons I receied more than anticipated. My old bike was desperate for a tune-up and cleaning. Not only were the hours of operation at TS the best, the humility displayed with the knowledge they possess shocked me. I hate to put any other business out there, but there's another local place I had always gone to and will never go back... TS not only made my bike like new, they sold me a seat without over-selling me a seat. The gentleman showed a mid-road seat and I asked for somthing more expensive; he was quite honest and said it is the best, particularly for the money. He was able to sell me any seat in the house but didn't. AND he explained why I needed the type of seat I purchased. He explained he could tell by the way my old seat was how I rode and why that particular one would be best for me. More information than I bargained for and I felt a little smarter when I left. When leaving I had a lot of trouble mounting my bike rack to my trunk. Having a new car the bike rack was foreign to me. When I left the person who checked me out had already offered to hellp, I declined; when the owner saw my struggle he came out himself, showed me what to do and made sure I would know how to do it in the future. I've done it several times since! I offered him money and he politely refused only asking me to bring him back my business in the future. How could I resist that?! Not only is TS professional, knowledgable, courteous, and superior in hours of operation... they accept the Active Transportation Alliance discount. I was here a few times with my boyfriend the first time was to buy him new bindings and the second was new boots. staff was young but very friendly and helpful. after we bought the bindings a few days later we found ourselves at Dicks and decided to look at the snow sporting equipment and found same bindings we bought were about 30bucks (including the taxes) less at two season! I bought 2 bikes here 1 for me and 1 for my wife about 2 years ago and they cannot be beat. They took the time to explain the difference's in bikes and let you test drive anything you want. They even took our old bikes as trade in's !! I believe we dealt with the owner and he was very accommodating. You get a free checkup after 30 days and free adjustment for the first year. I have been back many times to buy accessories and have been riding more and more. They are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. You should always support your local bike shop. You get what you pay for and they are worth every dime. read more

Spent over 1,100 dollars in the store, 400 for the repair of my bike. Then bought 2 brand new kids bikes. Wanted to pick up only one bike today due to not having space in the jeep for the second bike. The owner of the store Rich would not let me pick up only one bike and comeback for the second one. He was very cocky and condescending. I told him I was very unhappy with his behavior and service. Terrible Customer service after spending over a thousand dollars at the store. The owner of the store Rich Evers was very rude and not willing to help. Will never comeback to this store again. I am new to the area, so when I got a flat tire, I figured I'd go over and have them fix it. They were able to fix it, but they made me wait around an hour, while their tech was goofing off with other employees. I was very upset that they could not just change it for me right then, I do know how to change a flat tire but with my arthritis in my hands it hurts more than spending a few dollars to have a local shop do the work for me. Figuring that was bad enough, the owner Rich, could not stop hassling me about why I should be upgrading my bike or altogether getting a new one. I understand a 14 year old road bike is not the greatest thing to ride on but it's suited me well for those last 14 years and it's been maintained just fine and rides great. I will not be returning to this shop just because I don't like going somewhere and feeling like I am riding on a piece of crap just because it's not the latest 2012 road bike. Also something note worthy to mention is that almost all their regular price and clearance sale items can be found online or at performancebike.com for half the price. The store is way over priced for that matter, I suggest they check their price tags before putting them up for sale. read more
