I've been here a few times over the years hoping for consistency in their food. Whether it was in the original Newark location, or in the "newer" Newark location, there has been a lack of consistent quality problems that caused food to be sent back. The sweet potato fries and the nachos have always been wonderful. Otherwise poor, inconsistent quality rules. I've ordered hamburgers, medium-rare. What I get is a medium-well done burger. I've had the mussels too. The alcohol wasn't cooked out properly. Recently, my husband and I ordered fried calamari for takeout. Both portions had so much salt on them that it was inedible. A quick phone call to Two Stones had a gift card waiting for us. Silly people that we are, we ordered Impossible Burgers. They had no taste. Texture, but no taste. The sweet potato fries were excellent though, as usual. But if sweet potato fries and nachos are all that taste good here, I'll go elsewhere. read more

3.5 Stars. I was staying in the area for a few weeks and towards the end of my stay I was having a craving for some good wings. I searched a few articles and found that Two Stones was consistently rated very high in the wing department so I decided to give them a try. The beer selection leans heavily towards their own craft beers (understandably) but their IPA and double IPA that I tried were very good. It's important to preface this with the fact that I like food to be spicy. I don't eat whole habanero peppers for breakfast but I like to have a strong tingle. When I saw the ghost chili option I initially thought it would be way too spicy for me. Luckily, a local couple said it wouldn't blow my head off. On their suggestion, I ordered my wings naked and got several of the sauces on the side (which it turns out costs extra). Inexplicably, the ghost chili sauce had no heat whatsoever. It was just mayo with some greenish stuff in it. The Shriracha aioli (for reference it is much milder than sriracha) was spicier than the ghost chili sauce. The sesame soy was good but forgettable. The real star of the show turned out to be their blue cheese. It was super creamy and had nice little chunks of blue cheese dancing around. The "jumbo" wings themselves were kind of half and half in terms of size. The flats were pretty puny and one of the drums was small as well. As such, they were overcooked. The drums that were bigger were cooked just right. Juicy and crunchy. Overall I don't think the 10 wings were worth the $15 price tag unless they were all truly jumbo. Definitely this pub is in need of a "refresh" - the smell of disinfectant was apparent in the rear dining area. That said - our waiter was excellent! He gave lots of good information regarding both the food & drink menu - was attentive, friendly & welcoming. The food was typical pub fare - everything we ordered was good. Beer was good of course but so was the wine - also nice to have an option of 2 sizes for my wine pour. Would return if in the area again. read more

Awful. Group of friends met up there today. We had given the staff a heads up there may be 15 people. They had tables set up for us. We didn't ask for tables. We gave heads up for service issues. The service, if you can call it that, was horrendous. They refused to accept orders at the bar for drinks. Insisted that when everyone arrived he would serve us. He could only give separate bills by seat number. So we all had to sit at a chair to order. This is a come and go lunch we do monthly. No place has ever refused to pour a beer before everyone arrived (especially because we never know who to expect). They do not serve Fire Ball. Malibu Rum, Absolute. They do not know what a tall single is. Not sure they know how to pour a mixed drink. The menu is limited and way overpriced. Our food was a long time being served and when arrived was mediocre at best. Our lunches give restaurants a huge upswing in business. We're over the top tippers. Restaurants appreciate us and love to see us return. Unfortunately at the cost of a huge lesson to our group, we will not be returning. Usually a place might be poor in one area. Really REALLY disappointed. We ordered their charcuterie board to take home for the Super Bowl. See picture! $25. We got 2 pcs pepperoni, 1 very small sliver of pastrami, and 2 pcs of salami. They tossed the crackers in with the meat and cheese so they were ALL soggy. I'd honestly say $15 would have been too much to pay for what we got. If we had ordered it to eat there I would have simply sent it back. Add that to the fact that they charged $10.95 for what they say (on menu) is JUMBO shrimp (to put on a salad). We got 6 TINY little shrimp - not any bigger than an inch and a half long - more like the small shrimp you might throw in a dip. Never ever ever will we go back. read more

Had the opportunity to check this place out. Traveling through the area on my way back to Baltimore. Travel this way a lot and generally have to go further into Newark to find a suitable place. Two stones is just off of 95 and turns out they are part of a local chain with many locations in Delaware and PA. Place was packed at 5pm on a Saturday. Small footprint and there was a wait at the door ... that's right at 5pm but i was hedging to the bar. Nobody seemed to mind about the wait and If i needed to, especially after the meal i had, I'd be ok waiting as everyone else did. Give them a try, you'll be glad you did. read more

2SP is a great choice to come for a casual evening meal!! I ate the foie gras burger which was a really refreshing mix of flavors. They have a great selection of IPAs including several from my favorite Dogfish Head. The surrounding area isn't much but if you're looking to get off campus from the Udel area this a great choice. read more

So I ordered ten jumbo wings, regular fries, and Brussels sprouts When I ordered I stated I'll pick up on foot due to staying at the adjacent hotel. I ask for the wing to be cooked hard. When I walked over I received my food but no napkins or silverware. Which odd if you know I'm staying at a hotel. And of course I don't notice until I get to my room. My $12 Brussels sprouts were extremely salty and overcooked (Soggy). The wings were slimy and undercooked. The bbq sauce was extremely good. The fries we're cooked perfectly. The young lady that brought my food out was really nice and professional. I know we're in a covid atmosphere and there are challenges so this might not represent business as usual. read more

Overall I had a fun experience here, in this unassuming strip mall storefront that opens out into a very nicely furnished pub area. It's not what you expect from the outside at all - the menu is actually upscale (as are the beer selections). Wouldn't hurt if they could update the building exterior. Maybe add a nicer-looking sign from the highway. Little things. The food, a strong 4.5 stars. My friends had good reports back about crab chowder and the crab enchilada special. While in the middle of my two delicious beers I lit into the special burger of the day, which came with bacon, Gorgonzola, mushroom gravy, and something else I forget. I asked rare, it came out nice and just on the medium rare side of rare, which is really what I wanted. Heck, Courtney (our waitress) asked if I wanted it Pittsburgh rare (similar to "blue"), and so I bet they will do whatever you ask. Side note: Courtney was awesome. She was a great sport and took everything in stride. She made me feel like the only patron even as she waited on my other 10 friends and other tables. I did have to ask for her once or twice but heck, that's life in a popular establishment. She got all of our orders right, only forgetting one beer on the evening (but not charging for it, and it wasn't mine so who cares!). Kudos to Courtney. If you know her, remind her about The Fest in Gainesville. Anyway, if I can point to one main culprit for the slide to four stars, it's dessert. I had my heart set on the caramel cake, but apparently it was discontinued (Courtney mentioned that they should remove it from the menu, so it seemed like more than just being out). I tried the chocolate stout ice cream and it was unfortunately sitting in a sea of liquid. The texture of the remaining ice cream was rather icy. The other ice cream ordered did not appear to have these problems, so I'm inclined to blame it on the alcohol from the beer, but TSP may want to check their freezer temperature just in case. Food prices are a bit high but not outrageous enough for a star deduction, not to mention beer prices were very reasonable for the craft selections. read more

Stopped in for a quick late night bite. They were closing in 15 minutes. When I first walked in, it was about 8-10 people at the bar. They all (white folk) turned back to stare at me (black Muslim female) while I asked the host if it was too late to order. He said it wasn't but the bartender came over and said "yes it was, the kitchen had just closed" and the people at the bar were still watching me like who the hell was I and why was I there. Standards have gone down here, not food wise but their service. Man when they first opened service was above and beyond what it is now. There are still some old faces there and thats great when you are lucky enough to deal with them. However a lot of the newer employees seem to be in a rush to turn over tables. I feel like I cant just sit and enjoy a beer anymore, I must order food right away. Plus if you get there around four dont expect to see your server much as they are usually in the back tasting the nights dinner specials. My glass never used to sit on the table empty for long, nowadays thats a different story. We find ourselves traveling to different locations now to find some of the old employees that used to work at newark 2sp. That way we are sure to have a good experience. I liked the feel of this little hideaway in a shopping strip the moment we stepped in on a fueling (us) stop on the way to see our friends play a fife and drum concert a couple of weeks ago at the Pencader Museum in Newark, Delaware. We arrived during "happy hour," which included a nice small plates menu. So, I had two small plates: One was mussels in a cream-based sauce (uh oh - unexpected dairy, but I was prepared for our outing with a pocket full of lactase. Sadly, I did not sop up the sauce, but I wish I could have.) My other choice was "crispy brussels sprouts" (Oh Yeah!). Husband ordered a burger and our friend ordered macaroni and cheese laced with plenty of asparagus and topped with huge grilled shrimp. Everyone was happy. Two Stones features their own brews (though other brewery's products are available, too). Half pints (10 oz.) can be had for those of us who are half-pint size. Alcohol content is listed for the choices. I gravitate toward lower gravity and am always glad to find a glass that is in the 4 or 4.5 percent range that still has a craft beer character and some hoppy bite. The name of the pour that I ordered escapes me, but it was just the ticket with the mussels and brussels repast. Two Stones has half a dozen locations in northern DE and nearby PA. Stopped For dinner on our way back to Northern Virginia based on high reviews on Yelp. Two Stones Pub did not disappoint! It had great atmosphere and impeccable service. The kids had the Mac & Cheese which was homemade instead of the store bought mess offered at other restaurants. The sweet potato fries were just the right thickness to have the perfect crispness. I ordered the pan roasted CHICKEN THIGHS, champagne risotto, sweet peas, asparagus batons, Kenneth squares mushroom medley, toasted nuts, lemon-dill pan jus. The chicken skin was crispy, the sauce well balanced and the combination of ingredients phenomenal. Best Gluten Free restaurant item ever! read more

In person dining has been positive but this one trip was not good The brewers platter was supposed to have cabbage which was missing and the sausages were bland and tasted the same. Went here for lunch and the service was very nice. They were able to accommodate a table for 8 people. I ordered chicken wings and they were delicious. Got the Foie Gras Burger. The Foie I pulled off and ate separately. It was well executed with a crispy sear and uber tender buttery interior. The portion of the foie was large. The rest of the burger was ok. The meat blend was not very flavorful and the texture was a bit dry and gritty. The brioche bun was soft but not soft enough. I did like the addition of a sweet marmalade, which nicely complemented the meat. I don't believe I would have tasted the foie had I left it on the burger. read more

We have been coming to this pub on and off for several years. But lately they have really upped their game at the Newark, DE location. They have started really being conscious of the vegan community here and have started serving more vegan options. This particular night they had a vegan taco Tuesday event with vegan beer flights! Being from LA, I have pretty high burger standards. This bar/gastropub served up an impressive combination: Foie Gras Burger - a big, juicy, perfectly rare burger, topped with a tender seared slice of foie gras, a couple strips of bacon, Gruyere cheese, and a requested add - a side of pork belly. Hefty, meaty, greasy (good), yummy! It comes with a choice of fries or other stuff, so we chose the sweet potato fries, hot style - which means it was topped with cheese, bacon crumbles, green onions and a hot sauce. A little heavy on the hot sauce, but good fries - and nice that you can get a smaller version of their big fry piles as a side for the burger. Service was friendly, & we tried a couple of the beers on tap (Flying Dog Gonzo!). Definitely worth a visit if you're looking for a big, satisfying burger, & a bar atmosphere.
