They can also easily speak informatively with those of us who are not experts in bicycle technology. I've been to this shop a few times and never had an unpleasant experience. I bought a Trek Soho commuter bike here back in 2008. The sale was easy and painless, not pushy at all. I've also come in for beach cruiser parts and was surprised to see the price was almost as good as mail order. Really cool people, I got a used bike as a gift, don't know anything about it but the handle bars were loose. Took it in and they tightened my handle bars, fixed a brake cable that was in the wrong place (I had no idea) and gave me a bunch of info about my bike, all for free. Just wrapped up a nice trail ride today, made possible by the "over and above" service provided by this bike shop. I showed up a the trail head today with a buddy ready for a ride; however my bike wasn't. Front tire began to bulge in several places. Searched nearby bike shops, showed up at Two Wheels One Planet just before opening and asked if they could quickly mount two new tires set up to run tubeless. I didn't expect them to see me immediately, but they came through for me. Twenty to 25 minutes later I was out the door and headed back to the trailhead. Thank you for your service! I bought a gift certificate for my son-in-law's birthday and the guy who sold it to me couldn't have been nicer. I wished I had gotten his name, but didn't. Anyway, he was concerned because he couldn't find the appropriate envelope to put it in and searched for a full five minutes. Then he apologized for not being able to give me one. We bought two Giant hybrids there the other day, a Roam 1 and a lady's Roam 2. Our sales rep, Zac, was low-pressure and very helpful and knowledgeable. He showed us low and moderately priced bikes and didn't try to sell us more than we needed. I had done my homework on pricing for the bikes I thought we might buy, and their prices were the same as internet dealers--lower than a few, higher than one. Plus they had an end of the month special that saved us $150 if we spent $1,000 or more, which we did (the bikes were $599 and $499). We were out the door with bikes, helmets, locks, lights, lube and a few maps for about $1225, and the bikes were adjusted and fitted to us. Very happy. read more

As a complete newby with cycling, I needed someone to walk me through the process tenderly. Having no idea what I was doing, I worked with sales associates, Chris and Will. Chris was extremely patient and kind and tended to all of my concerns and inquiries. Will was helpful and dilligent. The service was slow, but thorough. It's a cozy, local outfit. The sales people are not high-energy and in your face or super anxious about making a sale, which I liked. I also had some mechanical issues/questions, which I had answered immediately and painlessly via a phone call to the service dept. and/or by stopping in. I've been looking for a fun commuter fixie that I can take around Newps and work. Was drawn to the Pure Fix right away. I liked the white/black scheme on the Romeo but the silver/blue Whiskey really caught my eye. I purchased it right away and they told me it would be ready by noon as it needed to be assembled. They were right on time as I was a little early picking up my new bike. Customer service was great, I think her name was Sonnet. The gentleman that brought my bike to me helped me adjust the seat and flip the handlebars so I could throw it (gently) in my car. Took it out for a spin later today and loved every minute of it. Absolutely exceptional customer service. I needed two tune ups on my bikes and I was hoping to get them back by the end of the day-the shop was busy (as it is the last weekend before Christmas), but the warranty tech Brent was happy to help and went above and beyond to make sure everything was ready to go for me. When we walked in we were immediately greeted, and helped right away. While we were filling out the paper work for the bikes, we were approached by two different gentleman asking if we had been helped and if we needed anything to drink. I also saw one gentleman bring a cup of water to a guest that was waiting. Absolutely amazing customer service at a bike shop-I was impressed to say the least. I also needed assistance purchasing new front and rear lights for my bikes- Will was knowledgeable and explained my options and helped me find exactly what I was looking for. Great atmosphere in this shop... Everyone is eager to help, and you can tell that everyone is passionate about their jobs and they enjoy what they do. I recently spent a month in Newport Beach and was looking for a place to rent a road bike. I was put in touch with Johnathan from two wheels one planet and he was great. I met with Calvin and Johnathan and they took care of the rest, from getting me a bike to sizing it up for me and even getting me a emergency roadside kit. I rented the bike for three weeks and put just over 300 miles. I will rent again from them when I return. I also picked up a few riding bibs. I brought in 5 clunker bikes from one of my rental properties to fix some flats and the nice young man asked if they could do a little "routine maintenance work if they thought it was needed". Like a fool I said "Yes".......... 273 dollars later ........I could have bought 5 cruiser bikes on craigslist for that amount. Took my bike in as there was a clicking noise coming from the axel area. Mechanic didn't even have to test ride it, he KNEW what the problem was. I had to make an appointment to get it fixed, he gave me an estimate. Only problem was the appointment was a week out. Good bike shops are busy ":o) Brought it in and he had it fixed in less than 1/2 an hour! Even cleaned the sprockets and put air in the tires. They always go beyond the normal here. All the employees greet you when u enter the store and bid u goodbye when u leave. I'm suspicious of this place - can they be this great? Yes they can, and are, at least for me in the times I have been in and needed something. They have couches for relaxing on, restroom, and complimentary water/juice. As a concierge at a local resort, I was in need of a special bike for a family visiting from London and their son with Down's Syndrome. This shop on 17th has been the go-to place since it was Sea Schwinn a great many years in the past. The current issue was a blow out on a folding bike. Went in for a new tire, but some days later, returned... was not turning straight on the rim. Jonathan determined that the tire itself was defective, but... nothing in the shop that would be a match. He gets on line, finds two in some warehouse in the Midwest, and... A week plus later, the bike is ready, two new tires and in perfect shape. I'm reviewing the bill and went back to Jonathan, concerned that with the credits given, they didn't make any money relative to efforts on their side. He assured me that it was correct. So... As always at Two Wheels One Planet, it's service and pricing well beyond expectation. The shop is a huge plus for our community and should be on any cyclist's "A" list for sales, service, and even the table outside as a place to lay back and enjoy a Peets coffee from next door. TWOP is very involved with the local community (they just sponsored a Breast Cancer Awareness ride that raised over $3,000), and they have road and mountain shop rides just about every day of the week, not to mention spin/core classes on Thursday nights. Will was super helpful when we picked out the bikes. On our way to pick up our bikes we were stuck in traffic and did not get there until right as the store was closing. They know bicycles at Two Wheels One Planet. We were looking for a good shop for a tuneup on our two bikes when we found this store. The service was swift, knowledgeable, and professional. One bicycle did not need a full tuneup and was tweaked sent on its way. (How many shops would turn down a potentially more lucrative service?). The other was in need of a tuneup. The bicycle came back looking better than new and performing like new. The technicians are helpful and will answer all of your reasonable questions. Sight unseen, having never met me, he tried to accommodate me through the entire process. Subsequently, I developed chronic muscular pain and could no longer ride. As a result, I had no option but to cancel the order which was over $8000.00! Will NEVER questioned me on this and reimbursed the full amount. Best customer service ever! I went to Two Wheels One Planet the other day to look at different bike possibilities for my 8 year old daughter. I could not have been more impressed with the customer service I received and that is down to a guy named Jonathan. This guy was absolutely awesome. Let me tell you why. First of all, there was absolutely no sales pressure from him. I honestly felt that he just wanted to help me get the right bike for my daughter. He helped us find the right sized bike for her, made sure everything was safe on it, made sure she had a helmet that she cold wear to test it, and stayed outside with us to make sure she was safe and riding the bike OK. As my daughter was trying bikes out, my wife also looked through what the shop had. They had such a good selection and were having a sale, it was just too good to pass up. Again, Jonathan spent a huge amount of time to try different bike options out with her to make sure she got the right bike for her needs. In all, Jonathan spent well over an hour with us to help us select the biked we wanted and at no time was he pushing any particular bike or product; he just answered our questions as we had them. So, what started as just a visit to the bike shop to see what the bike possibilities were for my daughter, resulted in us getting a great deal on a bike for my daughter, my wife, and a baby trailer for my 2 year old son. This was down to two things: 1. The deals they had on the bikes with no sales pitch, but more importantly, 2. The customer service demonstrated by Jonathan. What impressed me even more . . . so my car was not big enough to fit the two bike and baby trailer we just bought. I asked if the shop delivered, and Jonathan asked, "Where do you live?" That's right, after work the same day, they guy drove his own car with our bikes and trailer to my house, gave the bikes a safety check, and installed the attachments for the baby trailer. Best of all, he did it all happily and with a great attitude. He had given up a good portion of his Friday night to make sure we got our bikes and that they were ready to hit the road as soon as we wanted to go out. I got my Trek mtn bike there 4 years ago and I visit from time to time to check out bikes and get accessories. Always very helpful staff on hand. Went in yesterday with a bike rim and a tube I bought a few days earlier that wouldn't hold air and the service tech grabbed a new tube off the rack as well as a new wheel band and mounted it for me right there and filled it with the correct air pressure. I thanked him and asked what I owed and he smiled and said no charge! Now this is customer service, I would have been happy to pay 20 or 25 bucks for this service. That one gesture earned my business for life. read more
