Came in yesterday to drop off my Trek 850, admittedly an old model, for a brake repair and encountered a friendly and knowledgeable technician who repaired it in less than two minutes! While I never expect a busy shop to make repairs this fast, it was the high level of customer service that keeps me coming back! We bought our two bikes here a few years ago and they've hardly ever needed repairs. We came in for some adjustments on one of the seats and to check out a sputtering sound on the other bike. Brody took care of us and gave us his full attention. He adjusted the seat to just the right height and sold us the best lights for night riding. I've always shopped here for my cycling needs and have purchased a few beach cruisers, some accessories and cycling shoes for spin from them in the past. I don't want to get into details regarding my most recent encounter, but Will (the owner) went above and beyond to take care of me and help me out regarding a pair of defective spin shoes. This may not seem like a big deal to some because the shoes were defective; but the return date had been exceeded and Will still took care of me and helped upgrade me into a better pair of shoes. There is limited inventory due to Covid and the high demand of cycling shoes from Peloton purchases, but he was able to significantly upgrade me with minimal out of pocket cost to me. I would recommend this cycle shop to anyone and everyone. The customer service and knowledge base of every employee has always been outstanding, and they took care of me today when they really didn't have to. This is the best bike shop in Orange County, hands down, and I will continue to support them and send business their way. Thank you Will, and please thank your staff for me. I had the pleasure of receiving exceptional service again today Wednesday, January 18, 2023 from Two Wheels One Planet. Bicycle mechanic Josh B. was able to work on my bike right there in front of me on the vertical bike lift. Josh trouble shot a problem I did not know I had with an unbalanced wheel and like a Rolex watch maker meticulously solved my issue treating my E- bike as if he was caring for his own bike. I have said in another review that every visit I have made to Two Wheels One Planet in the past has been satisfying and today was no exception. It's a spirit of excellence like Josh's that reassures me and keeps me coming back here. Josh took pride and gave me customer service one would expect for the owner of an establishment, this guy loves his job. The team at this shop is consistently professional and caring. My 14 year old daughter was worried her brakes weren't working on her bike so she brought it in on her own to have it looked at. They scared her and told her the brakes were worn to the metal and quoted her $120 for the repair. We just had them checked at our local bike shop and were told they just needed a minor adjustment which they did for free. They told us the back brakes were at 90% and the front at 50%. I'm very disappointed that a business would be that dishonest with a kid or anyone for that matter and not just do the adjustment. read more

A little while ago I saw a post on our community "next door" app, about a child who rides his bike to school everyday and was hit by a car who decided to take off without even calling the cops or his parents.... his bike was ruined and he no longer had a way to school.. I called a few local bike shops to see if they might help me out while purchasing a bike for a child I don't even know and Two Wheels One Planet steppes right you to the plate! Went in to get a brake adjustment and get some replacement screws for my sprocket. It turned out I needed to have a lot more done for the brakes than I was prepared to spend money on at the moment But Calvin, the service representative, was still more than happy to help me with the sprocket screws and extremely nice despite the fact that he had to take my brakes apart and put them back together (which I know is a huge pain in the butt). I've been coming to see Will and his team for over a decade here off 17th street in Costa Mesa. First met Will, while working with the community of Costa Mesa on a fundraiser to help fix and maintain their bikes as for most its their only mode of transport. They offer a slew of high performance to even entry level bikes for the whole family. My most recent visit was to get a tire swapped for my sons new bike I bought him for Christmas. Will made sure they had the tire in stock and within a short drive and catching up for a few, I was out with a fresh tire and headed back home. By the end of our visit, I stepped out with 3 bikes and a confident rider. Every single employee helped us through the process, gave us tips, and was EXTREMELY patient with our needs. The owner Will even gave my sister some tips on bike riding and walked her to the corner before we departed home. I'm building a project mountain bike and was having a difficult time getting the cassette and derailleur to shift properly. I called Two Wheels One Planet and talked to their bike mechanic Jonathan on the phone, and he was able to take a look at my bike on very short notice. I ended up leaving the bike for a few a days with him while I was gone on a ski trip. Jonathan went over almost all of the aftermarket components I had installed on the bike and made sure that I had installed them correctly. He even corrected some of my mistakes that I hadn't caught. I'm completely blown away by Jonathan's attention to detail and his exceptional service. My bike is shifting and riding better than ever. Wow. AMAZING. Wife and I live in LA proper and we were heading down to the OC for a proper staycation. We wanted to replace our cruiser bikes and Jonathan and Ispent quite some time on the phone and on texts with me, guiding and educating me through all my options after listening to what it was I was looking for. He TRULY EARNED my business. WOW. Let's start with that I'm a newbie road bike rider. I'd visited a few times and picked up accessories for my bike. However, today I popped in to get a tire changed and look over my bike. Not only did they nail that. They gave me so many tips for road riding. They made me feel included instead of a rookie. That was awesome. But here's the best bit. I ride my bike out of the store. Go down the hill to PCH And BAM, double flat tire. Literally 4 minutes after they both were changed. I barely know how to change a tire. And only had 1 spare. So I called the shop to see if maybe I was riding wrong. After a few minutes on the phone. They offered me a ride back. With 3 small children, my wife was about to trek out about 20 minutes to get me. But like Disney Magic, Garrett picked me up. I linked back up with Ryan Who's a FRICKN LEGEND. Writing good dialogue is difficult. When done well it not only shows you what sort of person the narrator is but also gives you telltale signs about the setting and feelings such a setting evokes. Well written dialogue propels the story without need for an author's narrative. With this in mind I present the following: * Standing in line for service, I remark on the nice bike of the girl in line in front of me and she responds with "It's an old bike that we had painted and refurbished here but they did something to it. I can't get it to ride straight anymore". * While filling out service forms I'm within 3-feet of two employees as one sneers to the other "We're really busy today because everybody's returning with bikes that you worked on". * After telling me about a special offer that I'd missed by a few days (and which I proceeded to go ahead and request) an employee tells me "I'm gonna get in trouble for mentioning it." * After waiting patiently to request the special offer of one manager, the request gets escalated to another manager who comes out, looks my way, then returns to the back service area. Five to ten minutes pass and I catch his eye when I again see him. "Are you (insert name here)?" I shout. With this, he yells to another employee "Give it to them. Give them the deal". * After getting "the deal", a service employee continues to work on a bike for which no owner is present. "I'll get to you when I finish with this" he grudgingly says. * At his encouragement and because he continues to work on another bike, I walk around the store searching for something to purchase to offset the money being saved as a result of getting the deal extended to me. * When I return, he's helping someone else and doesn't appear to have finished working on the bike he said he needed to finish working on before helping me. At last, that transaction concludes and it is time to write up the paperwork for my pair of bikes. "They'll be ready on September 5th" (8 days from now) I'm told, at which point I'll no longer be in town. This might not be the most scintillating dialogue but it does the job that all good dialogue does: It tells me what sort of employees work there, how those employees are treated, what they think of their customers, and what sort of service they provide. In fairness, the front of shop, where bicycles are sold, seems fine but that "service" area is not. 45 minutes wasted and they couldn't have cared less about me, my time, or my bikes. read more

My man and I relocated here from the east coast and decided that even though we already have bikes, we needed cruisers. We both got Electra 7 speed townies outfitted with bells and baskets and some locks. The really positive things that stood out at this shop: *We walked in a few minutes before close to make the purchase, and they stayed late to outfit the bikes so we could use them that evening. Took about 45 minutes. In the past, when I've had baskets put on, I've had to wait hours or days. Awesome! *The prices are very fair. We had literally purchased the exact same bike as a gift for someone the week before in NY and paid $70 more. Great value. *Complimentary bike maintenance workshops the last Wednesday of every month. I'll definitely be there. *12 month no interest financing, if you need it. I've never seen a shop offer this service before. They didn't mention anything about a 30 day follow up service or free tune up after a year, which most bike shops offer standard. I forgot to ask and am not sure if this is included. I also did notice that their pricing for service seemed on the steep side compared to what I'm used to paying. For those reasons I knocked off a star. Otherwise, great inventory, great prices, fast friendly service. read more
