I've been on the hunt for a hair stylist for a while now and have had no success until today. I came in for a simple woman's hair cut and ended up getting a shampoo, a nice head massage, a wonderful cut, a blow dry and it was even styled. I was expecting to pay a lot for this wonderful service but it was only 45 bucks. Only 45 bucks?? Other places I have had to pay that much just for a cut but these women really know how to treat you. Hair cuts make me nervous but I had Tavia Cooley and she made me feel very comfortable. She is so nice and I recommend her if you're a bit nervous about trying a new place. I defiantly plan on coming back and it's nice to know that I know I'm getting the best of the best service. I do recommend calling this place for an appointment though. I tried to set up an appointment through yelp but unfortunately, the person I talked to through yelp didn't put me in the books. I forgot to call and confirm and ended up having to come back the next day since they had no spaces. Not a big deal for me since I live really close but I could see other people being annoyed by that. So if you make an appointment, make sure you call or at least confirm your appointment of you do go through yelp! TLDR: this place is awesome and you need to get your next hair cut here asap. My daughter and I both have really curly hair, and we went in for cuts with Micha at Twyst Salon on Barrows Rd. She did a phenomenal job! She doesn't just cut hair; she sculpts with scissors, to give you a cut that falls perfectly back into shape weeks after you've left the salon. My daughter and I absolutely love our cuts, and Micha recommended a product that works so beautifully with our curls. Many stylists have just handed us a conditioner, but Micha knew the exact product that would help our curls look soft, defined, and not dried out or greasy. The product also helped us maintain the amazing cut and style that Micha had created for each of us. Micha also listened to our hair issues and what we were looking for in terms of style and nailed it perfectly! She is thoughtful, amazingly talented and knowledgeable, and kind. 1st time I went results were fine just not for me. She did what I wanted it just wasn't my style. A few months later I scheduled an appointment with the same stylist. 1 hour before she canceled. I asked her about an appointment for the next day she previously offered & no reply. I had to reach out again & got a snarky response. The next morning I scheduled with another stylist there. When I arrive I'm told she doesn't have time for what I want. They had pictures but didn't schedule correctly. I left very upset. I called a stylist nearby & made a 3rd appointment. Turns out she works there too but was super sweet & willing to help. The owner not the stylist then text me & canceled my appointment. She never called me, answered my call or replied to my texts. It's like junior high in there. The owner is just awful. Their bad scheduling & poor communication wasted 2 days for me. I found another salon I'm much happier with. I've heard other bad things about them since & dodged a bullet. Below are the texts. 3/26/2021 Krystal 3:21 Hey I'm gonna have to reschedule or 5pm apt I thought I was going to be able to squeeze you in but my appointments are gonna be falling late today sorry for the inconvenience. I really don't appreciate no reply. & most of all I don't appreciate that you were going to "Squeeze me in" which tells me you were planning to rush through doing my hair. Tavia has cut my hair a few times, she did great job! So I thought I would try her for a color. I asked her for warm golden blound highlights. When I was done I was in shock. It was way dark and ashy gray. Witch I told her I didn't like the new gray blond. I felt like a test run for her. Even if I asked for that color it did look right. The colors didn't go right together. I would NOT GO TO HER FOR COLOR! SHE DOESN'T NO WHAT SHE IS DOING IN THAT DEPARTMENT!!! I had to go spend a nother $120 to fix the problem. read more

So today I got a root touch up for just dark brown hair. I set my appointment yesterday and will be attaching lots of pictures. I Called and was quoted 70-90 dollars for this ROOT TOUCH UP. NO CUT, NO ALL OVER COLOR which is what they tried texting to me saying that's what i got at 7pm when I have been home for hours and have original text which says root touch up, Lynn was the stylist, btw. So she puts dye in my roots and also got hair dye all over my face and it is stained now. I sit somewhere for awhile and then Lynn said the color didn't take so they will be applying more(in the end charged me 145 because she had to go in twice) and did not tell me until the end that she would be charging me double for her mistake. And then while this dye has been in my hair and the timer goes off for my hair she was washing a new client's hair ignoring the timer and also note she was on her phone a lot another client in there even commented on her being on her phone to me which is just unprofessional. My birthday is tomorrow and this was a present of mine to get my hair done.. I asked at the beginning, for her to curl it which she said yeah then at the end she said the appointment ran late and she could not curl it so she just flat ironed.. To top it all off my roots didn't match my ends AFTER GOING IN TWICE AND PAYING DOUBLE. . Another thing to note is a stylist there asked why it was so much for just a root touch up, 145!! No cut, not an all over color!! I feel scammed I could have done better with box dye at home probably have less hair dye on my face which is now stained for my birthday. So yeah I had high hopes for this salon and wow. I literally cried because of this experience it was just horrible. I am not saying my hair looks awful but I wanted my roots to match my hair and to be curled neither of those things happened and I got charged double. How hard is brown roots?! And maybe clean the hair dye of clients faces. read more
