I would like to express how impressed I am with Mike from TX Elite. Not only did he help my wife and me with our issue, but he was also extremely helpful and courteous throughout the whole process. Our freestanding oven stopped heating on both the cooktop and oven sections. My wife called TX Elite and spoke with Mike, and he walked her through checking the breakers and troubleshooting the problem as much as possible over the phone. He initially determined it was likely the control board. Upon further inspection, I found that the electrical plug on the oven wasn't tightened down fully and was arcing when turned on. I fixed the issue right away and the oven started working again. We sent Mike pictures of what we found, and he called us back immediately to make sure the repair was done correctly. He didn't charge us anything since he hadn't come out to the house, which we truly appreciated. His knowledge and experience even just over the phone were top notch. My Mom and Dad's dishwasher broke. We called a big box retailer and the diagnostic cost just to come out was $125. Plus, we would have to pay additional for parts and labor. We called TX Elite Appliance Repair - a family-owned brand - and they came over the next day. The reason I am giving them 5 stars is because they only charged $75 for a diagnostic. And the gentleman told us the board was broken and it was cheaper to get a new dishwasher vs have him repair it. Honestly, I think other places would have recommended we fix it and it would have a lot more. Appreciated his honesty and would recommend their company. I called on a Sunday night and asked these guys for an evaluation of my dryer not working. Michael texted me that night to say he'd call Monday morning for more information. He did as he promised and scheduled me for an appointment THAT AFTERNOON. Michael came out and confirmed the problem (motor). However, I decided to try the warranty route with a Maytag authorized repair company. I paid him for the service call/diagnoses and he thanked me. I will use him again whenever I have a problem. P.S. Maytag (aka, Whirlpool) only has two authorized repair shops in all of San Antonio (the 7th largest city in the country)! Both have terrible reviews (1 and 1.5 stars) and are cited as being unreliable. Why a national company would allow these two companies to smear their name when better companies like this one are out there is beyond me. read more

My dryer stopped working so I did a search for an appliance repair company that could come to my home, diagnose the problem, provide a reasonable repair estimate and then fix the issue. Lucky for me I chose to go with TX Elite Appliance repair. The service technician, Michael, was professional, courteous and punctual when setting my service call appointment. He arrived within his service window and called to let me know he was on his way. There is a service charge for the initial diagnosis but is only collected if you decide not to use them to make the repair. He diagnosed the issue, gave me an estimate to fix, I accepted, and he was able to fix the issue (he had the parts needed in his truck), clean up the work area, reconnect the dryer and operate it in front of me. All this in under an hour. Excellent work! I feel confident I will use this company again in the future based on this experience and the inevitable fact that something will always need fixing. read more

Our stand alone freezer's door was not fully shut a few days ago, and our freezer wouldn't fully cool the food on the top shelves. So, we got the food out into our other freezers. I was thinking our compressor was gone or it need more refrigerant. I made several calls to other businesses and informed them of the issue, which they said they couldn't get out until Wednesday. When I call TX Elite Appliance Repair, the gentleman I talked to (forgive me for I forgot his name) informed me that the freezer probably just needed to be fully defrosted and turned off as the coils were probably frozen. I did make a tentative appointment for Monday just in case. Well, I took his advice, and yes, that was the problem. Mike was terrific. Called ahead and said he could come earlier and that worked for me. He was professional but friendly and he knew what he was doing. He had no problem with my watching what he doing and asking him questions. He recalibrated the washer and popped out the front that was dented during a recent move. Then he went to work on the dryer. Five stars just aren't enough for Michael! We've gone through 2 service technicians who either touted themselves as Viking technicians or were recommended by Viking! I truly think one was either on drugs or was bipolar! First trip...yeah just order the parts (1 hinge) and let me know when they come in. I'll swing by and put it in. Hinge arrived, called him, he acted like we were inconveniencing him but he came and charged us $400 to put on one hinge. Needless to say, didn't solve our problem. Next guy refused to touch our fridge because he didn't think it was securely anchored to the wall. Um, no! Had to pull it out to work on it! Hubby figured out seal wasn't seated properly, a little silicone and no problems in well over 2 years! Now, two weeks ago, freezer went on the blink. First call was to someone we thought was local. Nope! Just a call center that refers you to someone local and gets a kickback! Um, NO AGAIN! We found Mike and because of his great reviews, called him. Even though the message said he was away, he called us right back. Turns out he was on spring break with his wife and kids! He came out three days later, diagnosed the problem, got us up and running 2 days later after telling us where we could order the part to save money! Mike is a true professional and obviously, is not only good a what he does, but loves his calling! He and hubby loved talking about their love of Lincoln automobiles! Aside from being terrified, I assumed that I would be replacing the entire oven. But he came out that next day and replaced the ignition system in a few hours and it works perfectly again.
