We went here for the very first time tonight, party of 4 adults for dinner. I thought it was beautiful inside. And we all liked the older 1920s kind of music playing in the background. Service was amazing if not overly attentive we had so much staff touching our table every few minutes but everyone was very kind and professional. I loved the food. The cocktail prices are not listed and I was the only one asking about the prices, my family was ordering 30$ old fashioneds without realizing it. I did not even order an entree because I was full from earlier in the day so with our 6-7 cocktails for 4 adults, mocktail, 1 app, 3 entrees, 1 side, 1 piece of cake, our bill was 370$ plus 20% tip on top of that so (430ish) Basically what I'm saying is the food IS really good but the prices are unnecessarily high for the drinks and desserts. Our piece of cake was 22$ which I did not ask prior to ordering because every single price I had to ask for and I felt weird to keep asking over and over for all the prices. read more

We were there on June 29. Love this restaurant. Food is good, atmosphere is amazing and the service is top notch. My only complaint is the prime rib. It had SO much fat on it. About a 1/3 of it was inedible. The price of the prime rib is pretty expensive too, so I would think it would have been a much better cut of meat. read more

We've been twice for dinner and once for brunch. Consistently excellent food and service each time. Great cocktails. The atmosphere / decor / theme is a little over-the-top (kitschy art deco), though in a fun way. Despite the name and theme and the upscale touches, there's plenty on the menu that's quite reasonably priced given the quality of the food. Recommendations: I'm kind of addicted to the french dip sandwich. The coconut cake is incredible too, though (warning) the pieces are colossal. Nice atmosphere and service, but food was mixed. The crab and artichoke dip was tasty and the pasta alla russa was delicious(get it with the chicken or it's more like a side dish). The beef Wellington however was bland with barely any duxelle or foix gras flavor. In addition it was extremely small and poorly cooked with a ring of well done on the outside but nearly raw in the middle. The brussel sprouts were good but didnt really match the menu. I'm giving 4 stars only because there are so many mediocre places in FM with inflated ratings. read more

The "vibe" is difficult to nail down; cheesy, decor that looks as though it were obtained at TJ Maxx, seems like everyone gets a sparkler with dessert; the food does not deserve the prices that are charged. I really want to love and support this restaurant but while the food is very good, albeit pricey, the service is very poor unless you are fortunate enough to receive service from Nina. We've been to the restaurant several times and the service had been abysmal until/unless Nina was involved, to the point we've asked for Nina's assistance even though we were seated in a different area. There is truly a lack of training when the bartender asks "do you want to taste this wine" before serving a bottle to the waitress asking "are you ready to cash out" as our dishes are being cleared. Unless you are seated in Nina's area, save your $ and have a similar customer experience at Chili's. (Sorry, Chili's). read more

I cannot say enough good things about our first visit to this restaurant. From the get-go staff, staff made us feel welcome and were very complimentary. The ambience is perfect for a comfortable, dimly-lit, speakeasy vibe. They have an impressive collection of whiskeys, wine and signature cocktails. The menu has a decent variety of seafood, steak and side options. The drinks and food exceeded our expectations. Beautiful, opulent entry & bar area. Ambitious drink/wine menu & bar nibbles are average. Entrees are good but not notable and unfortunately not equal to the price. Service is attentive and has greatly improved with time. Late evening DJ is a puzzle because there is no dance floor. Tycoon is trying to deliver something different for the area and I hope they succeed. Big drawback is the sewer gas smell in the restroom that has been consistently present since the opening. read more

Not my favorite! My husband and I visited this place a couple of months ago. I didn't write the review right away as I didn't want to be critical but as I hear more about it, I wanted to have my voice heard. The ambiance is good. The food partially underdelivered. Firstly, they had no prices on their drinks. Who wants a surprise at the end? So we stirred clear of them and ordered a bottle of a wine. Our waitress was all buzzing about how great all food is. So we started with appetizer and it was good. She suggested we don't finish it and take home so we can enjoy steak (read: spend more money with them). We declined and finished appetizer. Since we were pretty full, we decided to split a steak. My husband first said Medium-Rare. I said Medium. So waitress started throwing at us: juicy/not juicy/pink/not pink/with red or not? She confused me pretty well. I wish I just went with medium. As a result steak came overcooked! When my husband made first cut, it looked ok. So the helper who brought the steak left. We started eating it and it was unbearable! It was definitely overly dry, overcooked steak. Never mind we just paid $50 for it! Our waitress disappeared after that. We pretty much didn't see it till the end after that. (Probably couldn't upsell us on anything else!) To be fair the side was good for almost additional $20. So the dent was $250 for date night and we even shared a steak. Were we satisfied: No! We felt kind of cheated that someone took advantage of us and was not happy we didn't spend even more. Verdict: we felt it was pretentious overpriced place with ok chef. If that's what you like, definitely go and drop your money there. read more

Our experience was not fine dining. Fine dining does not include a D J playing very loud disco music. We Asked for it to be turned down. That did not happen. Our table had to talk very loud to hear each other over the music. Even the waiter had to talk loud for us to hear him over the music and there was not that many people there at 9:30 PM. We had been there the week before and told them as we left that the food was not served hot. We wanted to give corrective criticism. We invited friends from Colleyville and Plano to share this restaurant. This night Several in our party were served warm/not hot food. Again, we did not complain, but we were very disappointed and let the manager know as we left about the loud music and serving warm/not hot food. . The absolute WORST part was loud music. A Waiter spilled water on my back arm and then later a different waiter dumped water on the table running in my lap. I was very good natured about it and said I was thankful it was not a Bloody Mary. Wow, just wow. I am so glad they came to Flower mound - the land of Chilis and McDonalds. First off, the atmosphere is just pure awesomeness. Super cool - downtown ultrabar vibe (here in FloMo, right?) Erik, the owner, is beyond - like a movie character! Ultra classy, dressed well. The topping to the vibe! Drinks - wow, such cool selections and I am a wine guy!! The Executive is crazy good and crazy crazy - the coconut foam, how do they do it? I've tasted some of the other ones - all amazing. And a great start to a Sunday brunch ;) Food - finally did their brunch on a lark coming back from the casino with the kids and wow - just wow. The Wolf of Wall Street took the show! The chicken was to die for. My daughter did not really want any and then basically ate 80% of it! The rib hash thing was amazing and a little Cholula really added to the overall explosion of flavor. On a down side, which I mentioned to Erik, the benedict using focaccia bread is not a good choice as it gets too soft too quick - in my opinion. For dinner, we've eaten across the menu but not the steaks - yet! But the French Dip really is amazing! Dip it in the horseradish sauce as well and it is just amazing! I cannot remember all the dishes we ate but the Deviled Eggs were the most memorable (and I do not normally like deviled eggs!) The service is beyond expectation - Felix, Lauren, Taylor and more - all excellent and ultra-attentive! This is truly a hidden gem. I am sure I missed some kudos but it is an experience to go to! Where do I start?! It was amazing! The ambiance of the restaurant is spot on. Not very big & very intimate. The bar is beautiful & offers a wide range of drinks/wines. The food was outstanding. Our friends & us both took advantage of the restaurant week specials, each of us getting different appetizers, salads & entrees. It was all delicious! Went with friends to try Tycoon. Overall a very good experience. I had the Akaushi Sliders for appetizers, which were OUTSTANDING. My wife got the Wedge Salad, and it was wonderful as well. We split the Corriander Rubbed Double Pork Chop for our entree. It was ok, but not spectacular - just a tad on the dry side and not all that flavorful. For side we got the Horseradish-Harvati Dill Mashed Potatoes which were delicious. For dessert we got the Coconut Cake which was spectacular! Our waiter was new, his first day in fact, and he could not have been better. Very attentive without being overboard. The ambiance is just so-so and needs dome work. We sat in the dining area away from the bar, and the tables are VERY tight and much too close together. When someone sits at the table next to you, everyone has to twist, turn, contort and duck. It was also very loud, to the point we could barely have a conversation with our friends. Between the noise from the bar area, and the much too loud music through the overhead speakers, it was hard to hear each other.
