I'll break this review into a couple sections based on sales, and service. From sales perspective, the staff was excellent. We purchased a 2005 T&C brand new that was special order. I felt like we received a good deal, and not a lot of pressure. They realized we knew exactly what we wanted and had a good price in mind so negotiations were long, but the outcome was fair. They also did not push all the usual up-sell items when we were closing the deal with the finance manager. Just state up front your intentions and you will be in and out quick. Vehicle delivery was exceptional as well. They went over quite a bit and if I had any complaint about the sales process, it was that delivery was many a little too detailed. However, the service department has it's issues. The service writers do a good job of guiding you through the process and keeping you informed however the technicians need to think outside the box. Two examples come to mind. First, we had a major issue with a check engine light and associated poor accelerations. Round one, they insisted the problem was a faulty sensor. Around $400 later, they replaced the cam crank sensor which is remove the light however the vehicle still had poor acceleration. Check engine light came back on soon after. Round 2, they reset the light but could not find an cause. Two days later, the light came on again. Round 3, they tried to find the cause again and still could not. At this time, I did some reading and suggested they check the flex plate for cracks as the CEL code and symptoms were exactly what others had when the flex plate was cracked. They ended up returning the vehicle again after clearing the code and said we would simply need to drive it more to see if something else shows up. Round 4, light went off again and acceleration was so bad that going from 30-65 (merging onto the interstate) was like taking your life into your own hands. I INSISTED they drop the transmission to examine the flex plate in detail. Sure enough, it was cracked. Another $700 or so to get it fixed. Oh, $400 sensor? That was probably not needed. The other example was a sliding door issue. They wanted $400 to replace a part in the door that has a wire harness instead of offering to simple splice the wire and repair the broken part, which took me about 20 minutes at home once I saw what was broke. Bottom line, OK to buy here, but I do not recommend them for service. read more

I am told it will be 45 minute wait for an oil change. 5 mins. Later they tell me they want to do a recall and it will be an extra 10 minutes. Over an hour and a half later I am still sitting here waiting. This place always lies about times and never finishes in a reasonable time frame. They have lost my business forever . I have never had an oil change at this place take less than 2 hours. Before here I never had one last longer than 30 minutes. read more

NO, Just NO! Run, Go to any other place but avoid like a bad habit! Where to start, Back in 08 I bought a 2009, 2500 Dodge Diesel Laramie. Almost a complete horrible experience, but it turned out decent in the end. Truck had a common issue. Tires would consistently loose air, so I took the truck in to the dealership. Little to my surprise, it is not a warranty covered issue. I asked how is that possible, you stated 36k/3year bumper to bumper. They kindly replied "Read the owners manual, it states tires are not covered". Well who reads the owners manual before purchase and what does bumper to bumper mean then? Frustrated, I moved on. Years later, I mean 02 of 2014 I returned, Okay lets purchase a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Okay Nothing cheap about this purchase, I understand that. I bring in my Merc Benz SLK 350 for a trade in. OMG, 12K is your offer, ( the reasons they stated totally made up off the top of the guys head, like I'm a desperate sucker or something) yeah, um NO! So I decided I will keep my car, let's move forward with the process, I am sitting at a desk in the main lobby (Common), and the sales rep comes back to me with a 24 and a 36 month option, with a 2k down, 1,400+ or 1,100+ p/m. Really, I stated that's a house note for a vehicle; another No from me. So he picks up the phone, now I am feeling like I am playing "deal or no deal", calls the desk also on the sales floor, (How about this option, then on the phone again, how about this option) I get up from the desk go to the main desk, and lets now talk like I am a human being in the building discussing real money and real transactions. Okay I am cool with the factor it will be 15K down to get to my desired monthly payment amount, Things cost money, I get that. But what interest rate are you pulling those numbers on. Hmmmnnn still 2 weeks later I am still waiting for that answer. Really people I agree with the other post, they treat you like you need them, they don't need you, and follow up from them is a JOKE! I have so much more to say about them, but I think the point has been made! read more

Just bad the worst experience at tyson that I have ever had with buying a car. Came in to buy a jeep patroit. Salesman had a couple customers so I knew it would take a little bit. Finding the car took 2 minutes took a quick 2 minute test drive because I already drove it. Gave my credit info.3.5 hours later mind you only seeing my salesman for maybe 20 minutes total the whole time I am told we are calling it into the bank now. I was never told what my trade was worth what the patroit was selling for what the rebates were. I was basically pushed into a corner for 3.5 with no info to show for it. I mistakenly had my truck towed here for warranty work. They originally told me that it would be a month to month and a half possibly two months to get a starter. My wife called there on 4/20/22 to get a status on it. At 1:44 pm I received a text from them saying my truck would be done that day at 4:00pm. I don't generally check text from numbers I don't know. I did not sign up for text from them. They never call to say it was completed. The next communication I had with them was on 4/22 when I called them to see what was going on. When I got there to pick it up the service writer informed me that I would be responsible for two days of the rental. I asked to speak to the service manager who was confrontational from the second the conversation started so I in turn was confrontational with him. This little man Bill couldn't handle that and threatened to call the cops on me. I will never deal this establishment again do to there poor business practices. read more

BEWARE!!! DO NOT BUY A CAR HERE!! DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR FOR SERVICE HERE!!! I leased a brand new lemon, a.k.a. my Jeep Compass, in May of 2017. From early on this vehicle has had so many issues with the suspension and transmission just to mention the larger issues. Now the car is back to violently jerks as I'm driving. I WAS NEARLY JERKED INTO AN INTERSECTION YESTERDAY. This is after a corporate programing "update" that had been ignored by the service staff for months. When you bring your car in for service they ignore what you say, pretend to work on your car, and treat you like you're nuts. Well, you know what, I have been nuts for putting up with this for so long. The general manager never called me back after the service manager Bill claims he was taking my name and number to him for him to call me yesterday. It seems he doesn't take direct phone calls from insignificant customers. Trust and believe they'll wish they had not ignored me if something happens to me or my family as a result of their negligence with this vehicle. I feel so disrespected. My safety, my time, and my money means nothing to this dealership. How would they feel if their child, or spouse, or parent was having the same experience somewhere else. I've seen a lot of negative reviews about the service department here granted I am still within my 3-year 36000 mile warranty but I've never had an issue even when I had my 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan that I purchased elsewhere and had to bring back for a recall they are extremely prompt extremely courteous the appointment desk has been nothing but over the top and my two service advisors that I've dealt with with my car a 2018 Dodge Journey SE have been over the top they had my vehicle the first time or 3 days accurately diagnosed the problem although it may have seemed like something that could have taken a lot less time they took the extra time made sure that they knew exactly what was wrong because it was something that was sporadic and they were finally able to catch it diagnose it and fix it the second time bringing it back has been again over the top I look forward to working with these folks more often and I hope that you folks have just as good of an experience as I did read more

Wish I could give less then one star, FIRST of all my truck was wobbling while driving it and they charged me 130$ to have the suspension checked and came back to tell me it was my new tires, makes no sense at all! SECONDLY, got my recalls fixed and an oil change along with it brought my car home JUST TO SEE NOW ITS LEAKING FUEL ALL OVER THE DRIVEWAY! Funny it wasn't doing that when I brought it in and never had it ever done that. Moral of the story brought it back just to waist more of my time for them to fix it, they gave me a 25$ gas card for the "inconvenience" so I asked for a car wash, the manager looked like he wanted to say no, but I wasn't going to take that for an answer! When you bring your car in for service it should be an automatic car wash for your time and money spent there... 30$ for a car wash with you service are you kidding me? Way to take care of your customers. I'll be sure to get all my maintenance done at Bettenhausen of Tinley Park at least if you get service done there you'll get a free rental car and go about your day oh and a complementary car wash. I have a Dodge that has a maintenance issue and was told I could not get it worked on for at least a week! This isn't the first time, either! Here for an oil change and only that. Express lane with one car in front of me an hour and a half later and it's still not done. Another ten minutes or so is what they tell me. I know it doesn't take that long. This is completely ridiculous that no one lets you know that they probably just got your vehicle after the first hour!! We recently bought a Chrysler Pacifica from here and had a great experience. We had been to many dealerships before this one but they were all such a waste of time because over the phone they would promise to beat the offer that we had on the table but when we would get there they would not honor the quote that we got on the phone and play games to just get us to buy from them on their terms. But this was not the case with Tyson motors. They provided us with an amazing deal over the phone and more importantly, kept up to their word when we go out there. We are about an hour and a half away from this dealership but it was totally worth the drive. They did not play any games with us like the other dealerships, did but instead were honest and quick in the process, there was no haggling, negotiating just a smooth experience and a good feeling about the way we were treated. If i could give this place negative stars I would. Brought our car in to check on a possible recall situation. It was not the case. They called my wife and told her that it was going to be $977 to fix the vehicle. We decided not to have the work done there. I went to pick up the car only to find out they wanted to charge us $135 for a diagnostic test. The Service Director, John Ficaro came up a told me this was normal. I told him that theu did not tell my wife that. He basically told me that his service manager told my wife. I said are you calling my wife a liar? He csaid no but that could not of happened. Historically the worst dealership I have ever been to. I purchased a new 2012 Chrysler Town and Country back in '11. Within the first 3 months the tire treading and brakes pads were shot. I only drove it 3k miles. They said that Chrysler always puts on stock parts on new vehicles. Really? I paid 33k for this crap? I had to complain up the wazooo with these guys but was only offered a discount off tires. Not to mention this place's service department takes 2+ hours for an OIL CHANGE. Yes 2+ hours. Horrible service department! Recently we noticed our air bag light came on and they said we needed to pay $110 to do a diagnostic check to validate if there is a real issue. I asked if was covered under our extended warranty and they said that they would have to do the diagnostic check to see if its covered or we can just to to Auto Zone and they could do the scan for free. I went into Tyson a little apprehensive. I had purchased my last vehicle almost 9 years earlier and it was easy to believe that purchasing a car would be a frustrating or difficult experience. I had done some research online for the Dodge Charger and went into the dealer pretty much knowing what I wanted and what the cost should be. Josh was my sales representative and did everything he could to help me out and get me exactly what I was looking for. There were a few initial frustrations related to being unable to get specific packages on the car that were advertised on the Dodge site and in the booklet for the Charger, but that was not the dealers fault. My experience ended up being very pleasant. Josh was able to locate a car in another state that pretty much matched what I was looking and I was given a fair price for the vehicle along with a very good price on a lifetime extended warranty and oil changes. He did whatever he could to make sure I was completely satisfied before I signed any contract. If you are looking for a car Josh is definitely a person you should talk to, especially if you are feeling a little uncomfortable about buying a car. I have purchased two cars from Tyson Motor and I would very much recommend them to anyone looking for a new car. I would only suggest that people do their research before walking into the dealer which makes the experience better for the sales person and the buyer so there is no need for confusion, haggling, or frustrations over cost. read more

Bad experience. Went in to look at a renegade. First, they made me fill out a form and give up my personal info before even being able to look at a car. Then had to wait around for a sales person to get keys (they only have Hellcats in the showroom). I sat in the renegade and decided I wanted to know more - but as opposed to showing me how these cars are optioned, we roamed around the lot looking for things I may or may not like. This review is mostly towards the service department and customer service and Tyson Motors. I bought my 2017 Jeep Cherokee from Tyson Motors towards the end of 2016. I had a normal experience with buying my vehicle. For Christmas of 2017 I got my wheels powder coated black by a business in Lockport. I put my car on jackstands at my house and brought the tires and wheels to the business. I cannot have my phone at my job so the business had called asking me the year of my vehicle to know which kind of valve stems they needed to put the wheel back on the tire after powder coating them. By the time I got out of work the business had already closed so I had to take the wheel and tire somewhere that would have my valve stems to get it put back on and balanced. So, I took it back to Tyson where I bought my vehicle after confirming they had my valve stems. I got a call the next day to inform me that when they put the first wheel on the machine to put it back on the tire, the wheel flew off the machine, scratching my brand new $100 per tire powder coating. They said they were nervous to continue so they would bring it to Pomp's Tire next to the dealership. I was obviously frustrated, but understood that stuff happens and moving forward how management took care of the situation would either make or break my experience. The dealership still tried to charge me for the four valve stems at $25 a piece. I obviously objected to this, considering that the four valve stems would cost $100, the cost of re-powder coating my rim that they scratched. After speaking with a manager they ended up doing the whole thing free. After putting my tires back on my car and heading to work, I could not go over 55MPH without the car violently shaking. I ended up taking it to Discount Tire in Joliet to be rebalanced since I assumed that is what was causing the vibrations. The gentleman there informed me his 12 year old son could have balanced the tires more properly. So, I called Tyson to inform them to maybe not take their wheels to Pomp's Tires for balancing again because they obviously did not know what they were doing either. And to inform them that I still ended up having to pay which was BS. Fast forward to now May of 2018. My car with 20,000 miles on it is having a pretty loud creaking noise coming from the front passenger side of the car. Can clearly hear it when going over bumps, and can hear it the best when driving slowly. My 80 year old grandmother confirmed she too heard the noise. Although I was reluctant, I called Tyson to make an appointment to have it serviced because I thought who in their right mind wouldn't take it to the dealer with 20,000 miles under warranty?! My appointment was at 9:00AM. I asked the gentleman I was dealing with to please call me once they have looked at it so I knew if it would be covered under my warranty. By 3:30PM I had not heard from them so I just called myself. I spoke with the man who was overseeing the repair on my car. I unfortunately do not exactly remember specifically what part of my car he said was broke, but I believe it was some part of the strut. My first question was is it covered by warranty? He said yes. My next questions were is the problem common, and how did it happen? He said it commonly breaks from hitting pot holes or large bumps, it is a small piece that commonly breaks. He said they would have to order a piece and it would be in by the next day (Thursday) or Friday. He also told me I could get a loaner vehicle if I needed one at no cost to me. I said I would, since it would be a few days potentially and I needed to get to work. So I get my rental vehicle and go home. When I get out of work the next day I had a missed call from them so I call back and they inform me my car is done. I go up there, turn in the rental and as I am waiting for my car I look at the paperwork. The paperwork stated that they took my car for a test drive and heard nothing. It then said that they lubricated the ball joint and it showed .50 hours of labor. I am obviously first and foremost infuriated because the man I had talked to not only lied to me, but did so pretty elaborately about what they were going to fix on my vehicle. I go up to the man who is checking me out and say I am confused, do people usually come and get loaner vehicles from you guys for 1/2 of labor? To lubricate a part? And he said no not typically. I explain what the man overseeing my vehicle told me and he assures me that he wouldn't have lied to me. So the guy I am talking to obviously does not believe me. I was so frustrated I just said ok and got in my car and left. Before I even left the parking lot I could hear my car was still making the same noise. When I got home I called and asked to speak to a manager. I explain this ENTIRE situation to him which he genuinely sounds like he is angry about as well. They never call you and treat their customers like trash. The service manager told me since I bought it from another dealer they are not interested in finding out the issue with my vehicle. The sales people are on top of it. However, I wasn't there to buy a car I needed the one I just bought (not from this dealer) fixed. When I arrived to the service department, it was the last hour of the day an I didn't have an idea of what to do first. And I was greeted by Franco in the service dept. Franco's customer service and knowledge was great! I walked in talking about lighting bolts, engine lights and making sputter mouth sounds to give him an idea of what went wrong. He listened and above all else he was patient. My car needed to be serviced and he kept me informed every step of the way. Thank you Very Much! It was my first experience at this dealership. Completely disappointed in this dealership. I was coerced into agreeing to lease a vehicle to help out a friend with several promises from Aaron that terms in the lease such as the annual mileage limit would not be an issue. Further investigation proved that was not the case after I signed the deal. I was new to the experience of working with a dealership and would have appreciated transperency and honesty. I clearly didnt know what I was doing and was taken advantage of. They offer no return policy on any vehicle you get from them so I'm left with the headache of figuring out a solution on my own since any time I contacted them I was told nothing could be done now. read more

My review is based on the service dept only (sales staff is great). The air bag light has been on so I called to get it looked at. A service guy told me that they were booked, next appt was next month, "but I could take it to auto zone to have them scan for codes." I said "Well why can't you just scan it...?" He said "Oh...we've misplaced our scanner..." REALLY??? I called back to get a supervisor, spoke to a great woman who told me "No, that's not true. come in and I'll scan it." got there in 15 mins and my car was literally scanned within minutes of pulling into the bay. Tyson said they were booked so I had to take my car to Greenway in Morris to have them fix it. I seriously feel like the first guy I spoken to was trying to screw me over because I'm a woman. really, dude, your service dept "misplaced" your one and only scanner?!?!? if I ever take my car for service there again, I will not speak to that one guy. If you're a woman, I suggest you ask to speak to the woman that works there if you have questions. She was awesome. read more
