Amazing food. I've never had toast that tastes so divine. We had a honey toast with almond ice cream and those little pillows of toasted bread. Yum. I don't understand what chocolate shaved ice (bing su) is but it's not too sweet and very refreshing. The pistachio topping is a nice addition. We had French fries with some good hot sauce. This food did not have a chance to make it into Yelps history. But despite struggling through this pandemic, U :Dessert Story has wowed me entirely! Walking down Shattuck, a group of girls holding their aesthetically pleasing boba milk teas, I quickly interrupted their conversation to ask them where did they get that?! Unwavering in their awesome manners they did not mind and pointed to the lovely corner shop across the street. Small patio seating, comfy and cute we sat and ordered our food from the QR link which makes it contactless and private. They still come to check on you once it's ordered. We ordered the wings, Choco Banana Crepe and Banana Oatmilk Tea with boba. My husband ordered a craft beer of course and I think the food only had time to say hi to us! The wings were my husbands favorite! And he likes to think of himself as a wing connoisseur. Light breading with a super crunch. Sticky, sweet glaze with a hint of spice but not enough heat to turn the gringas off. My choco banana crepe did NOT disappoint either! Chocolate and bananas? Always a good combo. Very lightly sweetened chocolate cream crepe, refreshing vanilla ice cream in a bed of Oreo crumbs, and the main event in my opinion.. the banana cream sauce! Anyways I ordered the panda crepe cake with coconut shavings (Not a big fan of coconut), but I must say it was quite delicious with lots of flavor. I have been to U :Dessert story on multiple occasions. I love how they put a lot of thought into each dessert. Everything I have ordered here has been aesthetically put together. The desserts are not only Instagram worthy but also delicious. I have tried the cheesecakes, crepe cakes, drinks, and toasts. My favorite include the coconut crepe cake and the lychee cheesecake. I had such high hopes for this place but was unfortunately disappointed. My husband and I ordered the Mango Sticky Rice Bingsoo to share. I found out through old Yelp pictures that they actually have a small size for $9 (compared to a large for $15), which we were able to order through the waiter (it's not visible on the app). As a part of the dine-in experience, I was expecting it to be in a bowl that would've been easy to share with my husband, but instead it came in a little plastic drink container which made it hard to eat since it was so deep. By the time I got to the bottom, it was mostly just Bingsoo left. The mangoes weren't really ripened either... Some pieces were really tough to chew and not that sweet. The best part of it was the slightly savory sticky rice combination with the sweetness of the Bingsoo. With so many dessert options in Berkeley, I don't think I'll be back here. read more

We had such a great time and wonderful dessert at u dessert. My daughter found it on yelp and she wanted to try it so we went in a whim. The parking gods were with us bcz we found parking right away. The location is on the corner and not the door with the address but there is a sign and it was east enough to find. The service was a little lacking but not terrible. Our waiter was nice but we found ourselves waiting around for her many times. The desserts were amazing. We had this volcano dessert that was different and tasty. I really loved the bingsoo! Tried the hojicha one and it was truly incredible. I loved the choclatey rich dark matcha flavors and the brownie bites worked really well with it. The drinks were really good but I found the bingsoo more wallet friendly since those could be more easily shared. Overall I had a really great experience. The matcha float was delicious and I really enjoyed the ice cream part as it melted into the drink. I enjoyed the earl gray too! The service was slower as the staff tried to figure things out during opening but there were a lot of people when I went. The decor is super cute and adds to the atmosphere. We ordered SO much food that we even had to switch tables! Luckily, the staff were incredibly hospitable and offered to change our table so that we could receive the ultimate U:Dessert Story experience. I can't speak for too many things here, but we love their young coconut pandan cake that we ordered a whole cake (it's expensive!) as our wedding cake. And we eat a slice every year for our anniversary. I like it because the cake itself is layered crepes with a fluffy whipped cream in between and it isn't too sweet. They give you the coconut sauce as a side, which is sweeter and you can drizzle as much or as little as you like. The presentation is also very pretty. Good enough to be a low key wedding cake! We've always gotten compliments on the cake and it's flavor (interesting and unique)! Try it. :) read more
