Well let me start off by saying that I was 100% at fault for damaging the call box, I take full…read moreresponsibility. So after a back and forth with estimates from Otters and the cost of the repair, ( almost $1700), and my insurance, I decided that I would pay out of pocket. So here is where the problems start to arise.. after a few weeks I called them one day to pay over the phone with a credit card. After being put on hold for 15 minutes I was told that they couldn't take a cc payment over the phone. So this put me in a bit of a pickle, because now they wanted me to mail them almost 1700 dollars. Well, between this bill, some medical bills and my monthly obligations, I didn't have the money right away. The plan was to pay the with a cc and I would pay off my balance over time. So yes it did take a couple months to come up with the money. So then I mailed off the check March 17. March 18th I get a text saying I've been locked out of the facility, fair enough, I get it. I'm thinking ok they will get the check in day or 2 and all will be fine. It is now March 28th, I called them in the morning asking why the check hasn't been cashed, the operator told me a " Sylvia" would call be back. I lay down for a nap and wake up to find my lease has been terminated and they would reach out to me to tell me when to pick up my things ..So obviously I'm agitated and I call back, AGAIN, they tell me "Sylvia" would call me back. it is now after 200p and I have heard NOTHING back. I really do not want to get my things out, I'd like to stay, but somewhere between whomever Sylvia is and the corporate address they gave me, there is a disconnect. I need to find out who has the check, I really want this resolved. The problem with this over the phone business model, there is no one I can give a check to. And my other problem is, this could have been resolved if they would have taken a cc payment. they have the ability to debit my account monthly but they can't take a cc payment, absolutely terrible.

The streets in our neighborhood barely allow for cars being parked on the curb with one car driving through at a time. This box is much wider than any car or truck on the road. Because of this our brand new Kia K5 was side swiped by an suv trying to avoid this box to his left hitting our car to the right. We tried speaking with someone the next day about this box parked on the street and the guy found it funny. This company is careless with their equipment, your better off getting your own storage.

However, my experience with YSP has been an exception to the latter. Ever since the first phone call when I set up my first two units with YSP, the staff has been exceptional in their help, advice and flexibility. I am now renting unit number five from them in my preparation to move abroad once again. They have always acted in ways that serve my best interests rather than only being concerned with their own needs as I have found other storage facilities often do. They are willing to go the extra mile to insure I want to use continue to use their facility. In my history with other storage facilities, the reverse of this attitude has often been my experience with the facility operators usually threatening the fact that they have waiting lists, yada, yada, yada. Almost forgot to mention that payments are done online and are easy to make. You really won't regret using Your Storage Place. Elray and Bill are tops in customer service and satisfaction. Unfortunately I did not have a great experience with my storage unit. There was an oil spill from a…read moresurrounding unit that leaked into mine. The employees did help me move all my stuff from one unit to another but that was all that's was done. I was never reimbursed for my damage items. The person was never held responsible for his leak. Due to legal reasons I was never even able to get the persons information. I had renters insurance but it did not include oil spills so I lost all my damage items without replacement.
