Do not book tow hitch appointment online. On 3/31/21, paid for the tow hitch and installation online and made the reservation to have it installed. 4/8/21, I showed up for my appointment and they told me that they were waiting for a part to come in and that they would call me to let me know because they were expecting a delivery. They also said, if it didn't arrive they could get it from another location. They blamed the website for not letting me know that they had not received the part. Uhaul has not called me back and now in order to reach them by phone there is a +30 minute wait. read more

Do Not Buy Propane here. Buy at 76 station off Beach and Lampson. The manager at this uhaul is extremely lazy and will look for any reason not to fill your tank. Stood in line there for 15 min to have the manager say that he couldn't fill my tank because of slight bend in handle that is used to carry the tank which has no effect on the cylinder integrity. Went down the street to 76 station off beach and Lampson and the shop filled it promptly and for far less than what uhaul was charging. read more

I rent a trailer once a month and I have been renting from a different company down the street for many years. What a difference in service... the Uhaul guys here actually cared about getting me on the road quickly and safely, and they actually said "thank you". I see a couple of people here on Yelp mention some attitude issues, but that certainly was not my experience and I dealt with 3 different people in my transaction... possibly you get what you give? I have never returned a piece of rental equipment so fast in my life... I drove in, an employee removed the trailer... and I was outta there! I never even had to walk inside. Lastly, the total price was exactly what I had been paying at another company for a smaller trailer. That's how to earn 5 stars! read more

This is my last U-Haul experience. I will be taking my business elsewhere for the rest of my life. The representative I dealt with name is Dan Desmond. I tried to use the Phone app to speed up the process because my time is valuable to me and every time I go to U-Haul to do a pick up it's 45 minutes to an hour to get whatever I need. Their employees never have any respect for your time they're never in a hurry and it frustrates me to no end. While trying to be polite this man was the rudest man I ever met my life. I hope they fire him. He had the nerve to tell me he would have helped me quickly if I had not been rude. He let me search the lot for 20 minutes for the truck I'd rented. When I found out he had me struggle with the phone app for 10 minutes before he came and helped me. This company sucks the app sucks I'm done. He had me try and resolve my problems with the online app help which never responded. The app made a bad situation worse! read more

Oh man, where to start... well I made my reservation via telephone to have a Tow Hitch installed on my vehicle. I was told to come between 9am and 1245 for same day installation. I was quoted 301 and change for the work. I arrived and waited patiently to be checked in. I spoke with Dan the general manager who went to check and make sure the hitch was there. He came back and told me they had it, but that they didn't have the wiring harness, UPS hadnt delivered it yet, but that he had one that could be swapped out. I said "oh, good, it's already been a morning and i just need something to work right today". He handed me an agreement, said your signing here to waive a transmission cooling thing and 2 signatures to authorize the work. I signed the paper, handed over my keys and went on my way. I got a call around 330 or 4 that it was ready. Waited for my Husband to get home to take me to pick it up. I get there and again patiently wait, then Dalton proceeds to check me out. He then tells me my total is 403 and change, i pulled up my emailed quote and make sure I read it right, and then question it. Dalton, he looks at my quote and the system and can't understand why its so different. In walks Dan to try to help Dalton, who says I told you we had to swap parts, i mentioned he didn't tell me it would cost anything different, he stated " you signed the agreement, we had to go to Pamona to get your hitch, we could have just not done the work but you were freaking out already". I said "you told me the hitch was here, you didn't indicate the cost change, and you could have not done the work but your weren't honest". He continued to say you signed the agreement, and I did, and i fully take Responsibility for not reading it in its entirity, however if he had mentioned that swapping out the electrical would increase my cost i would have fully read it. He offered to take off a few bucks from labor, but i was so upset by the bait and switch followed by the disrespect that i was getting from him. So i said, I'll just pay it but will be reaching out to Corporate. How response was "Good luck with that, as he walked out the door". I was unhappy to say the least, and outside of crying because well that happens i kept my cool. I called corporate and filed a formal complaint, the customer service rep was delightful. She listened to me, helped me, validated my feelings and let me know someone from the location would be calling me back. I routinely repeated that it wasn't about money, I fortunately had the extra money at that time so i was able to get my vehicle back, but more the way he took advantage of my stressed situation and the disrespect he showed when questioned about his behavior. I'm still waiting for that call, but i did wake up to a refund of 90.00 from that reservation. I am grateful for the refund, Dalton, and the Customer service rep, but be prepared for the General Manager to be rude and disrespectful if your less than happy. read more

ZERO STARS! I should have read the reviews prior to renting. DO NOT GIVE A DEBIT CARD FOR THEM TO "HOLD" FOR A RENTAL. I did, and was NOT told at anytime, by anyone that the "HOLD" would not get released until several days after the transaction was completed. Rented a truck on Saturday, still have the "hold" amount (funds not available) on the following Wednesday. They have charged the agreed rental amount that I used the truck on Saturday, but I am still waiting for my "hold" to get released. Pay cash, or use Penske. read more

Service people are nice, however slow, took a bit of time for us to get our truck. Told the attendant that we didn't need the dolly or the pads, said if do not cut the ties then we wont be charged. When we returned the truck, they said we can either wait or leave the keys and they will check it in later. We opted to leave the keys with them, I was a bit concern about returning it without an agent and do a walk around and sign us out. My partner said it should be ok, they wouldn't try to cheat us or anything. So I said ok, took some photos of the truck and left. Eventually we received a receipt by email with charges for the dolly and pads. Even though we never used it. sigh... Now I have call them to get this corrected. read more

My storage was broken into approximately 3 weeks ago.. Just a warning for all that have their items in storage go check on your items. Many of us assume it is safe. Don't let this happen to you.... We stored some TV's and misc household items due to a move at the UHAUL 7422 Garden Grove Blvd., in Westminister, CA. Our lock was cut off and switched by some unknown criminal-still unknown. Whomever cut off the lock off stole 2 TV's, our game console and other valuable items. We tried going to our storage that day to pick up a baby walker if not we would have never known. I truly believe it was an employee or internal worker from that facility. SO IF YOU HAVE A STORAGE AT THIS FACILITY PLEASE GO CHECK IT OUT TO SEE IF ANYTHING IS STOLEN.. They don't give you a direct price on the hidden prices over the phone. I'm kinda disappointed on this company. You have to pay the rental fee which is 19.95 . Then $10 for insurance covering up to $150 for damages. Then .50 cent for every mile you drive. THEN you have to refill the gas tank. read more

I work with several U-Haul dealers over time. This is by far the best I have ever gone to. The owner was so customer service friendly, accommodating, patient, made my entire experience with this office incredible. Needless to say during moving nothing ever goes according to plan, I was supposed to take the U-Haul back to another place. I talked with him he went to work found me at my storage unit and came and let me know that everything was taken care of. Absolutely outstanding. I rented a 6 x12 trailer for 5 hours. The desk person was not trained and tried to overcharge me more than what I was quoted on the phone. He charged me insurance fee without asking. When I questioned it, he said I was not paying attention. When I checked my credit card account, they had charged me for a single day rental and also another 2 day rental. I called corporate and they told me that it was just a deposit and it would credit back in a few days. It never did so now I am having to file a claim and waste more time. Worst experience I ever had renting a U-Haul or any vehicle. !!!!! So irritating the way they treated me had a reservation for a van specifically and they tried switching to a truck I specifically told them that I had to store the vehicle in the garage because of the valuables that I had inside there were expensive so I needed a van because somebody was going to unload it in the morning I couldn't do it because of my disabilities then they gave me the van. And allegedly the van was in need of repair. Well I waited another 20 minutes and someone else ended up picking the van I had reserved. Then the manager looks like he just got out of prison give me an attitude and start popping at the mouth and then the Mexican guy that works in there start talking shit to don't go there and rent anything from there they're horrible people I've already rented many vehicles there and never had any proms and now all of a sudden they treat me like trash I don't think so very disappointed trying to call corporate but there's no corporate number. I wish I could give this location zero stars. I walked in to the center to find a customer not wearing a mask inside. I decided to wait outside, its not my business to tell someone what to do. I saw a worker in the bay he also did not have a mask on, I said excuse me, I wanted to let him know I was waiting outside. He yelled at me to go inside, I tried to explain I was uncomfortable inside. He then screamed go inside and wait, I'm helping someone. He was talking with a worker and laughing, not sure how much helping of someone else he was doing. I continued to wait outside. I see that the worker is now inside, still no mask on. I opened the door and tried to explain Im uncomfortable inside because now he and a customer don't have masks on. He slowly put his mask only over his mouth staring at me the entire time in a very intimidating manner. I explained the nose is part of the respiratory system. He then proceeded to say Whats your problem. At that point I left. We are in the middle of a pandemic, masks are mandated by the state. How can I trust someone to get into my car, drive it into the bay and install the item I already purchased. Additionally who speaks to people so rudely. I will never step foot in that location ever again. When customer service called the person also claimed to be the manager, Dan Desmond. I am unsure if he was the actual manager, but if it was you should be ashamed how you run your business. read more

First time using this location. I rented an enclosed trailer to move my sister out of her apartment. I called the day before and reserved the trailer. I arrived first thing at 7am and was hooked up with the trailer, a dolly, and a hitch receiver within 15 minutes. Very fast and easy. I dropped it back off early and they helped take it off my truck and put it on. They could tell I was in a rush and said they would email me a receipt of my transaction. The receipt was accurate and fair. They didn't look too enthusiastic, but service was good! Will use them again! read more

I did all my research last night, knew exactly what I wanted to get, knew the prices, options, everything. The guy who was helping me was nice but had no idea what he was doing, The assistant manager (or I assume) next to him kept interrupting him and the customer he was helping to rudely interject "that's not how it works, no he can't, etc" All I wanted was a u-box and simple truck rental, they advertise it everywhere, and they're website listed this location as one of the featured U-Box stores, oh there's also a giant one right out front. It's almost 9 AM, I arrived here at 8:15, Currently I'm waiting outside because apparently the manager is the only one who can set up a U-box rental, oh and according to the two people working he is supposed to be here. I asked them when he would be in so I could come back, instead of offering to take my number and call me back they rudely replied "dude we already told you we don't know" ironically, the two things I came here to rent are sitting right outside in front of the store, and here I am wasting my valuable moving time writing this stupid review on Yelp that could have been short and sweet. I guess you don't always win. This was a bad experience all around - when I showed up at 6:15 (my pickup time) no one was in the building at all... I searched for someone for 10 minutes, even popping into their breakroom, the back lot, the front lot, the offices, no one. Finally someone showed up and he was having a hard time using the computer then they had to re-take all of my information because the credit card info I enter online does nothing...? Then when I got the truck home to start packing it they hadn't given me the dolly or 2 dozen blankets I paid for. I got a call in the morning asking me to bring back the truck because it was supposedly for an 8 hour rental (?) No one ever asked me the length of time I would need it, the man who couldn't use the computer just confirmed the dolly and blankets (that he didn't give me) - did they really think I was picking it up at 6:15 at night to have it back to them at 2:30AM? They were extremely rude saying that now they were over-booked and to bring it back, um no, its full of my stuff. When I got back there to return it they had locked the doors and would not hear me about not charging me for the items they did not supply and in the morning I got a receipt and like I thought - they charged me for it, what a joke. I do not recommend unless you want to babysit them and double check that they give you everything you pay for and that they do not make up their own return times... read more

We were there to rent a truck and we got such attitude from this girl.. where is the customer service? Made my day from hell! We have rented 2 trailers through UHaul in the past 5 months. Every person I spoke with, gave me a "Different" answer to my question/concern. I was assured that everything was taken care of....but that was definitely NOT the case. Then when I received my credit card statement...there was $100 more charged. When I called to inquire about this, I was told that he amount I was quoted was incorrect. I was also told, that this happens alot! I will NEVER do business with this company again. Super sketchy place, use them at ur own risk! We ordered a truck to pick up 200 pavers. We thought it would save time doing everything online but when only one person is working the front it still took more than 20 minutes. Literally just standing around waiting. Once we finally got the truck my brother took a picture of how much gas was in the truck so we could know how much to replace. However when we went to drop it back off the guy who checked us in wrote on the paperwork that the truck was missing gas. But he never said a word to me while standing there. As we were checking out at the desk they other guy told us we owed money for them having to "fill the truck" I told him we already put the gas in and he stated the guy checking us in wrote we we under. I showed him our picture with the time stamp and he then told me to go find the guy and take it up with him. As the customer I shouldn't be sent out to go find an employee and confront him. Reluctantly I went back outside and looked around for a while and was unable to find him. Finally the guy from inside came out and said he would just go recheck it himself. I went with him, he started the truck and saw that it did have the right amount of gas. He seemed annoyed that the guy checking me in was such a douche bag and was trying to squeeze money out of us. Needless to say if my brother hadn't taken the picture we would have been paying for them to "fill the truck". Complete bs and thats why he disappeared when I question it. I felt the need to leave this review to highlight a worker with a wonderful attitude who should be commended for their quality of customer service. We came in to this storage/u-haul facility from another u-haul location in need of a tow dolly and the front point was severely understaffed. There was only one cashier/service rep available and many customers. Crystal didn't skip a beat and worked furiously to attend to everyone's needs. Despite the wait and frustration of customers, Crystal handled it all professionally and courteously and despite having a very large line to service answered every question dotted every T without issue. She was practically the only person running the entire location and is easily worth an entire store of employees. That level of commitment and attention to the quality of customer service deserves recognition and I hope that this location or the larger U-haul company recognizes her value and impact to their business. read more

I reserved a 4x7 trailer. When I went to pick it up, they said someone had changed my reservation and there were no more 4x7 trailers. This was the day before a week long camping trip. I will NEVER use U-Haul again because of my experience here. I had a reservation to pick up a moving truck on Wednesday morning. When I arrived, an employee named Pablo was standing outside and instead of greeting us, he rudely said "go inside" so I walked inside and waited for a few minutes. Once he helped us and asked for my information, he asked me for my ID and credit card. I explained that I spoke with someone over the phone, the day prior, and I was told that I could pay the deposit in cash. He told me that they don't take cash at this location, and he asked me if I spoke with a man or a woman over the phone. I told him that it was a woman, and he responded with "That's why.". First of all, that is completely rude and inappropriate and sexist! Second, if you have someone (REGARDLESS of their gender) answering your phone calls and giving out information, make sure that everyone is on the same page and is aware of your policies. It took about 15 minutes of arguing with Pablo before the manager finally walks in and I get a chance to speak with him, and he made an exception so I appreciated that. However, the overall experience I had here was enough to make me never want to use U-Haul and never recommended it to anyone that I know. read more
