    Today while I was on my walk in the village of Irvington, I stopped and took a rest on a bench, a…read moreletter carrier walked by and she dropped her satchel on the bench next to me and continued walking up the hill to deliver the mail. I can't imagine that's acceptable on any level to leave your USPS issued uniform bag on a park bench and walk away, I must be out of my mind for thinking this is normal right? Since it wasn't my responsibility to watch her bag, I left it on the bench and continued my walk up the hill. I should've taken a picture of her but I didn't, but I can describe her. She seemed to be a part time temporary employee as she didn't have an official uniform on, but she was definitely delivering the mail.

    For a post office so small in a town so same, one would expect shorter lines and better service!…read more Almost every time I stop by to mail something or buy stamps, there's a line at least three deep, with one person at the counter -- and multiple people either working elsewhere within eyeshot or about to go on break. The Window Closed sign comes and goes like the tides. (Only more frequently, as the tides are predictable and relatively far apart. Plus, they publish them in the newspaper!) That said, since the grumpy and slow male postal clerk seems to have moved on, the women working the counter are hella better. Everyone seems to know what they're doing, and they've got the full array of stamps, including the July 2006 Super Hero series. Go just for that. Hopefully, you can mail what you need to send where you work!
