I give a one star, because I can't give 0. The supervisor is very very unresponsive. I miss my package. On August 19 was out for delivery, today is September 4th and package is still missing. They didn't know were is it. I was asking the supervisor for a very simple later to verify I didn't receive that package. Only with this later I will get a refund. Our company have a hold in the post office and they pickup mail every day in the morning. Most of the time my package is lost and they have to look for it and the founding them in other holding location. Plus they are very slow and the Philippine woman is the worst there. She thinks that she owns the post office. Very slow and a lot remarks that she makes. read more

Went in with an appointment scheduled to get the paperwork submitted for my daughter's passport. Kathy (Cathy?) helped us. She was serious and efficient about the job she was doing, but pleasant and joked with us a bit too. She didn't take much time and it was just an all around good experience. ALSO, Prior to serving us, I heard her on the phone with someone and without knowing what the exact issue was, I heard her make special arrangements to meet with the person on a specific day to help them personally. I do my best to avoid this post office. Slow service. Uncaring attitude. Heck, even the self serve kiosk does not work most of the time.

If there was a way to give this place 0 stars I would! Terrible customer service and you will wait in line for what feels like forever. The staff have no sense of urgency even when the line is crazy long! Think twice about coming to this location, only if you absolutely have to! read more

0 Stars - I believe the managers name was "Steve" which I don't know how anyone with his customer service could still be working there. If you don't like your job.. DON'T DO IT! If you are in need to stay at a job that you don't like then fricken act like you like your job because you are representing a company, not yourself but a whole company so have some respect for your Customers! I moved here from Utah and I have never heard such horrible customer service before. I called just to explain my situation with not receiving my mail to my apartment and yes it was a complicated story so I didn't really know how to explain it and I said that. But Steve made me feel flat out dumb and says "hold on hold on.. Now you have me lost" and kept cutting me off with a rude and unprofessional tone every time I would try and explain the situation better. But he didn't once empathize my frustration.. And I've been a manager before and if you are a manager you have to at least act like you care about customers frustration that's why you are a manager for crying out loud! Just an all around bad experience with them. I will not be taking my business there anymore. read more

There's something wrong when you get lied to at the post office !!! I ship A LOT of Ebay stuff, mostly small things, and i send all my packages with tracking. I also have dyscalculia, its like dyslexia , but with numbers. So reading the line of tracking numbers causes confusion for me. About a week ago i noticed the tracking label contains 2 parts , the unbroken tracking number , example 111111111111111111 , and a separate tear off label that looks like this . 1111- 1111- 1111- 1111 -11. So i kindly asked the heavy set African American lady with glasses, " could you please also give me the tear off number so i can read it better " Her response was " they're different numbers" and proceeded to throw the sticker in the garbage. Fast forward 4 days later ..I go in to ship another ebay item and the very nice older Korean lady behind the counter was kinda busy and she said to me " would you mind putting the tracking number on and I'll scan it" WELLLLLLL, low and behold the tracking number on the sheet was EXACTLY the same number on the tear off portion . The exact scenario that i was LIED to about just 3 days before with the other ( too lazy to hand me a sticker) lady. read more

Like any busy post office, the counter people can be curt and abrasive. Or, surprisingly considerate and helpful when you least expect it. I guess they try. At least some do, at least some times. What ticks me off here is that this is a busy post office, they have only ONE parcel drop box in the lobby, and it's FULL when the post office is open! That should never be. They should be emptying it hourly. Around the holidays it was ALWAYS full. And I pay for postage online, so I'm NOT waiting in line for 20 mins to ship. That's my beef with this place. TIP: EMPTY THE PARCEL DROP BOX IN THE LOBBY! ADD A SECOND ONE TOO! Of course, if you think this one is bad - head up 83 to the Prospect Heights P.O. for a **real** lesson in frustration and disrespect. That place is terrible. The longer the lines, the SLOWER they move. It is not my imagination, I've observed this behavior many times. As soon as the lines start to build, one of the counter people **always** disappears - lunch, break, hiding, whatever. One lady there scolded me last week for taking too many flat rate boxes. I took an assortment of like 10 or 12 from the lobby because I ran out. When I asked if they had small ones, she looked at the stack, leered at me and said "are you taking **all** those boxes?" Rather than saying "thanks for your continued support of our jobs" or "thanks for not going to UPS, where they are exceedingly courteous and helpful", she gets pissed because she has to waddle her chubby butt twenty feet and restock? Good Lord, there is no mystery why people hate the USPS. I give Mt Prospect 3 stars because most of the people are good. Our carrier is great. Years ago back in the city we got other people's mail al the time. Very rare here, but has happened. read more

I live on Camp McDonald near Wolf and don't understand why most days I don't get my mail until almost 7:00PM,especially on Mondays. I find this kind of service unexceptable since the costs keep going up and the service keeps going down. Sue seems to be the only one who is able to give good service and a smile.Will miss her when she retires. read more

If I could give this place no stars I would. This place is absolutely awful. I've been here several times and always have the same experience. Today I went to ship a book I had sold on Amazon. When I arrived the line was almost out the door. Since I wanted to ship my book media mail I couldn't use the self-serve kiosk. When I got there they had one, yes ONE, person working the counter. At the time I got there she was helping a man who was trying to ship a package internationally. This gentleman had to fill out a form. Instead of asking the man to step aside while he filled out the form the postal worker just stood there while he filled the form out. All the while the line got progressively longer. At this point another worker appeared. A ripple of hope went through the line that maybe now the line would move. But our fears were quickly dashed as this worker asked if anybody was just picking up mail. Three people raised their hands and the new postal worker took their information. This worker then disappeared for 15-20 minutes to find their mail. The woman in line behind me said it was just sad that it took her that long to find people's mail. When I finally got up to the counter I told the worker I wanted to ship my package via media mail since it was just a book. Then she asked me what kind of book and that my package could be opened. I don't really care, I just want to ship my book. Then she says they have a new system and says to bear with her. I had been bearing with her while I waited in line for 40 minutes. Then she asked me if I wanted to pay via debit or credit. I said credit, but when I swiped the card it asked me for my pin number. I started to enter my pin number, but then massive confusion ensued. Then she says I get a free tracking number (Wow! I guess I'm supposed to feel happy that the post office is giving me something for free. Too bad they can't give me those 40 minutes of my life that I waited in line back!). This place is the worst! Avoid it at all costs! read more
