If you open at a certain time-- be open. If you close at a certain time- close at that time. Rude personnel. Perhaps if Job security was an issue personnel would understand the assignment better. My tax preparer mailed my return 4/1 using Stamps.com (USPS website) sent via priority mail. All done properly. This post office returned them to sender. Today the package is in AZ and I have to scramble to pay taxes on time. Amazon--please buy the post office!! These people are so bad. read more

QR code system has been down the two times I have gone there in the past 2 weeks to make a return. I was emailed a shipping label to be printed and they don't print labels for you.. terrible business (every other postal office (ups, FedEx, etc) prints your shipping label for $1 fee. They need an upgrade to the whole business / system. Very frustrating. read more

Sent back an $1100 eBay purchase to Brazil (did they?) without tracking or any proof because they said the name didn't match my PO Box. Said it was my fault for not responding. To one of 10 a week I get from phishing scams? Doesn't mail get delivered to the address rather than name? Out $1100. Staff always acting rude, unprofessional, or just plain nuts at the facility. Out of all the post offices I've gone to this might be the most frustrating, while many of the staff are polite, the woman who does passports is cranky and was rude to us. Also, it is not uncommon to find 10 people in line with only one staff member waiting on customers, while another staff person only accepts package drop offs. I was there this past week and there were 16 people in mine when I left, with OBLY ONE PERSON WAITING ON CUSTOMERS. You'd think they'd add more staff at the holidays. We've been using this post office for 7 years and this is always the case. Also, the facilities are in need of an update. I've started taking my business to Elk Grove where the lines are much shorter and the staff is quick and there's more than one person waiting on customers. read more

One lady out in front was doing her best and isn't included in this review but one of the supervisors came in with an attitude after I was waiting an hour, headphones in, and then couldn't even complete the service. At first when i moved to Schaumburg I thought the Downers Grove Illinois was the problem, when my father's card took a week to get to his house. Then I didn't receive a letter that on line I was getting that Day. Which showed up on my email. Diane is the absolute most rudest person I have ever seen in customer service. Doesn't greet people and raises her voice at people for not understanding her. Currently as I am writing this she says to an older man that obviously doesn't have the best English "well you have to know what you're doing here" how rude. Just seems like she's unhappy with her life and taking it out on others. A young man approached her asking for help "saying oh it's my first time" before he even finished his sentence she started talking over him and giving off an obvious attitude. Terrible service! Spent 20 minutes in line to send a certified letter only for the rude woman behind the counter to tell me I needed to change the envelope. I asked her if she had one behind the counter and she responded in the most annoyed tone and pointed saying "envelopes are over there." Since I was not about to spend another 20 minutes in line again, I left and took my business to UPS who were absolutely pleasant. Saturday is passport day at this location so try to avoid this post office on Saturdays if you need a passport! The line was extremely long! For everything else though, I've never experienced very long waits or had any issues. Workers are always very helpful and very nice here! There is usually enough parking but pulling out of the post office is kind of strange...you have to do this weird circle thing which includes 3 stop signs just feet apart to get to the spotlight out of the parking lot! So odd! Overall, my packages always get sent to this post office so it is my go to place a lot of the time. read more

I can't stand the Schaumburg postal system. We went on vacation last week. I put our mail on hold last Friday to start on Saturday and start again today. I got a confirmation. Yet, our mail was never held. We still got most of the mail we would have gotten except for one day. When i asked the guy when we picked up our "weeks worth" of mail the guy said next time do it earlier. That doesn't resolve the issue of making our house look obviously empty for a week even though i stoped our mail. If it wasn't going to be held then why the hell give me a confirmation?! Aside from this, we've lived in our house for two and a half years and we still get the old owners mail even after putting a note up that says for our last names only. We get our neighbors mail often. We get mail for other streets, one time we got mail for an address on Schaumburg road. We do not live in Schaumburg road, thought our street starts with an "S", that is the only similarity. We once got a package for a house three blocks away. When i complained i got the response of "oh, your house is on a training route." Well, maybe train the mail delivery people better then. read more

This location is totally old school but functional. Thankfully it has a self serve station although I still need a live person to help me retrieve my package. The workers here are just as friendly as any other government establishment. Yes, misery! I took my mortgage check over to the postoffice. Some one apparently took my check out of the envelope errased my morgage company name put their named on it. Changed the amount of the check to 4000.00 and cashed it in, I went over to the post office and they gave me a phone number to call the postal inspector and they do not return my call. I got to the post office 10 minutes before closing. I had to get a mailing envelope there and as I was filling in address, several people went ahead of me which was fine I waited in line while the woman in front of me took a while to finish as she was sending multiple packages. Like, I get it, you have a miserable life, but the rest of us are just trying to get through our day, so don't take it out on us. The people at this post office are EXTREMELY RUDE!! The lady in the passport office had no one in her office and I was told by the service clerk to walk into the passport office. The old lady with glasses was not only rude and rushed me because she has another appointment. The service clerk (tall black lady with braids) who told me to walk into the passport office was rude when I asked her a couple questions, despite having no one to attend to. I lived in the Schaumburg Post Office realm for three years and entire time my mail appeared to be tampered. Blatantly ripped open in numerous times. I tried to speak with Kevin and he thought this to be funny. It's my mail! Hopefully the OIG will review my complaints & see who the person (?) is doing the tampering. If I could leave 0 stars I would! Such rude staff there! I had my packages labeled and I had scanned them in the machine in the lobby. All I needed to do was leave them on the counter because the bin was broken. It was 4:30 and they were closing, but still had customers in line. There was an African American clerk that said I was not allowed to leave them on the counter. I told her the bin was broken in the lobby and she told me I'd just have to figure it out but I wasn't allowed to leave them. read more

This post office is not very good. The attitudes of the employees are awful. The lines are forever long and for no good reason; I have, on several occasions, given up and left. As for their mail carriers, there have been days on which we have not received mail at all, only to receive twice the mail on the next day. The mail carrier is friendly but inconsistent. One thing this location is good at is holding mail. They are good about stopping and restarting exactly when you want if you go out of town. As a lifelong Schaumburg resident, I am quite confident when I say that the Roselle post office, while slightly farther away, is a much better place to go if you need to ship a package. Sadly, there's nothing you can do about your mail carrier if he or she is inconsistent, but at least you can save yourself time and irritation when dropping something off. read more

Did you know that you can apply for your passport at the main Schaumburg Post Office? I was pretty sure that it was a possibility and so I called, got the passport office hours of operation and drove over on a Saturday morning. So we should have arrived when that office first opens, but we were being lazy bums and slept in that morning. We arrived to find a group of about ten people wait for their turn. The system is simple. Write your name on the clipboard hanging on the office door and wait. Out of the way. That doesn't mean to wait near the line for regular post office customers. Apparently and as I witnessed, you will literally get yelled at if you appear to be in the regular post office line when you aren't. And then the post office personnel, particularly the one crabby lady, will shake her finger at you and tisk tisk tisk in your direction if you do it again. There really isn't a lot of room to wait that's seriously out of the way. Whaddya want lady? Anyhow, we did our online research in advance and arrived with the necessary paperwork in hand. We were able to take passport photos on site, write a couple checks, answer a few questions and head back out the door. Within three weeks we had our passports and original birth certificates back in the mail. Woo hoo!!! We're going to Mexico! Simple. Almost comical. Plus the people watching is fabulous here! read more

It's the wise words of Matthew McConaughey, "Alright, Alright, Alright!" That's an apt description of this post office. It's alright. The pros: 1) They open a full hour earlier than the other (east side) Schaumburg post office. 2) Plenty of parking 3) Large lobby space where you can drop larger packages, buy stamps, access a PO box, etc. The cons: 1) Service is all over the place - I've had the friendliest experiences and "I don't give a sh*t" interactions. 2) The actual customer service area is small and narrow and there's often a line. I appreciate that USPS is trying to keep with the times - easier click to ship, convenient pick up, etc but there are still times that you have to pop over to the PO, and this one is fine. read more

I stopped by the Post Office during peak hours last night. I didn't think I'd find a parking spot. The line was pretty long by the time I arrived. There were 4 Agents hustling to get the line moving quickly. One of whom was strictly helping the customers with Return Receipts or Certified Mail. It was good customer service to remove them from the regular line. I noticed it took the Agent longer to find packages than it was for Agents to assist customers who were there with postage and shipping requests. It also helped that people were prepared by the time they got to the counter. The line may be inconvenient but it's not their fault that we all show up at the same time, wanting the same thing! It moved quickly for Post Office standards and I was greeted with a positive attitude, so what's there to complain about? read more
