I appreciate that they take time to run the postage several ways for the better options because postage is getting so expensive. It is not the workers' fault. They have no influence over the costs. During peak times, they also sometimes separate the customers by purpose so that if you are only picking up a package you move to the end window. The lobby has a good machine to weigh and purchase your postage for packages and envelopes. My local letter carrier is a great guy. So nice. He even knows to not let the cats out so he'll ring the bell if he sees them by the glass door, rather than open it--we have a mail slot. He lives in the neighborhood and treats us as neighbors--so thanks for that.

I'm pretty sure they have some new workers and they're absolutely amazing. I've recently just had a woman help me with processing my passport application, which was very important to me because I travel out of the country a lot and she helped me and my ethnic family of three other people very fast and efficiently with zero problems and triple checked to make sure all the information is accurate and I cannot stress enough How patient they are. I've had my passport and other important paperwork done more than two times at this place now and it is a 10/10. And if you're from Illinois, especially Chicago you know how awful USPS workers can be especially in the city sending you home for any missing document or even using the wrong tone with them, but they are truly the best over here.

The fact that I receive other peoples' mail (way too often), is bad enough, but misplacing my mail from Jan., and suddenly delivering it in March w/o explanation, is inexcusable. It's staffed with usually just one person so if there's more than one customer waiting, it'll be a little bit but the lines and wait are not nearly as long as a regular post office. The interior is very government sterile being a processing center. There are rarely staff available to answer questions so don't come here unless you know exactly what you are doing. On the rare time staff are available they are very nice to interact with. Do take note that some staff members ignore social distancing and fail to wear masks properly, extended distancing and sanitizing immediately after entering your vehicle is recommended here. In response to the many people bashing the P&DC for mail going missing. That's why you call the Postal Inspection Unit instead of writing a seething review that does nothing to find your lost package. I lost a package some years back, a few phone calls later and it was found and back on track.
