Stay away if you have anything more complex than a cracked screen. I brought my 2020 iPad Pro here for a charging issue. They replaced the battery (didn't work), then sent it to their "Level 3" facility in Florida, who kept it for weeks before denying the repair. I took the "unfixable" iPad to Micro Solutions Repair on Columbia Pike afterward who fixed it in days -- and found that uBreakiFix had left loose screws inside, damaged parts of the motherboard, and messed up the screen and charging port during their "repair" attempt. After the staff guy has disputes with both customers -- both requesting to speak to a manager who doesn't work on weekends -- a half hour after walking in I was waited on. Staff makes a call to find out if they're capable of making a single solder joint which likely requires less than 2 minutes to complete for someone proficient with a soldering iron. Confirms it's an easy fix, and without referring to the computer, notebook, or any other document to establish the price for a 2-minute job, the staff guy quotes a price of $89. Avoid this place. Place is a joke. Didn't fix my phone properly the fist time. Had it 4 hours the first day. That's fine things take time. I work long stretches of days in a row, sometimes 10-14 days. I head over on Saturday and the tech just decided they don't want to work today and the place is closed. I used my lunch break to make it over there and now I got no food and no fixed phone, great. I work the next 7 days and then I go out of the country. Thanks Ascurion!!! It gets better! I took it back over again later in the day after speaking to corporate. Brought my iPad in for failure to charge. Pre-paid ~$190 for diagnostic and new battery. Took a month of me calling to get status (never got any communication from them) but eventually new battery placed. Took it home and still wouldn't charge. Brought it back and was told a higher level tech would do another diagnostic. Again, a month of waiting. No communication from them again. Eventually I got through and was told it couldn't be fixed. I could pick it up and they would refund the money for the original repair. Went in to pick it up and the screen was now cracked. Probably worthless anyway if repair not possible but really? OK, so they said they would refund my original card. Waited a month, nothing. Went in and they acted surprised and said they would again start the refund process. Another month goes by and nothing. Talked to the "manager" who said they would escalate the refund problem and include me on all correspondence. Another month goes by. Crickets. Called the store. The manage was in but busy in a meeting. They said he would call me back when he was out of the meeting. Crickets. This has got to be the worst repair shop on the planet. The guy at the front desk looked at my phone and told me it was eligible to get it fix. Came back 2-3 hrs to pick it up nothing was fixed and told me my phone screw was stripped. They try to open my phone with whatever the machine they use and screw my phone up. Rather than owning up to their mistake they try to blame it on me/then later told the insurance it was manufacture issue LOL. There was nothing wrong with my brand new phone other then crack screen on the bottom left screen. As you can see in the picture one of the screws was partially popped out. I brought my tablet in and paid a downpayment of $60.00 for a replacement battery. Four days later, I returned after receiving a text that my tablet was fixed. uBreakiFix told me my tablet was working fine and I did not need a battery. And, my $60.00 downpayment had morphed into a nonrefundable diagnostic charge. But the only thing wrong with my tablet was its age! I was in shock. I immediately returned my tablet for a new battery. Four days later, uBreakiFix said they could not find a battery. Well, my tablet is in the hands of Wireless Rxx who found a battery. uBreakiFix wasted my time and stole $60.00. (I wrote this review after calling my bank to verify that uBreakiFix never reversed charges for my downpayment. It is worth $60.00 to warn others to NEVER GO to uBreakiFix.) read more

If my recent experience at the AT&T Store was the worst customer service ever, this place is certainly the worst communication I've ever experienced. DAY 1 - After a craptacular experiencing dealing with AT&T on all fronts, I take my phone here for repair. I'm quoted a "2 days at the most" diagnostic. DAY 4 - 3 days pass... no word. I call, and they tell me they haven't even looked at it yet. But I was going to get a call very soon with an update. DAY 5 - No word yet. I call again. Apparently the motherboard needs to be replaced and they have to order a new one, of which wouldn't arrive for another couple of days. Guess how many times I was contacted to hear this news? Zero. But it would be repaired a couple of days after that, so rest assured I'd be called on that day with an update. DAY 8 - The day of supposed repair. No word yet. I call again. Turns out the part hasn't arrived yet. Guess how many times I was contacted to hear this news? Zero. But, I would be contacted when it arrives and repair begins. Cool. DAY 10 - Still no update. I call again. Turns out the part came in the night before and repair had begun. Guess how many times I was contacted to receive this news? Yup, you guessed it... Zero. But, rest-assured, I was going to get a call when it was done. DAY 12 - No update. I call again. But apparently it'd be done in 3 hours! "Rejoice," I thought! "Is it finally happening," I excitedly, yet nievely, asked myself. 8 hours go by... nothing. I call again. Turns out the part is faulty and they needed to order another one, of which wouldn't arrive for another couple of days. Guess how many times I was contacted? Twice! Nah, just kidding, it's zero. DAY 14 - No update. I call again. Turns out they fixed the motherboard... but they found another issue. Guess how many times... Alright, you get the point. My choices were to wait for another part to come in, or at this point ship it to Google for a replacement. Obviously, I went with the latter. DAY 15 - I go to pick up the remnants of the phone to ship to Google. After a long-desired farewell to this place, I find I am unable to open the SIM card slot in order to retrieve the card. Strange. "Do I just suck," I thought. No matter how hard I tried with every trick in the book, I couldn't open it. So I'm left with the only option of taking it back in to see if they can assist. Turns out whoever put the phone back "together" forgot to put the spring back in that triggers the opening of the slot. Thus, they can't open it and will have to put it back in circulation in order to take the phone apart and retrieve the card. At this point, I've gone full "Joker" and realize "I used to think that my life was a tragedy, but now I realize, it's a comedy." But... a couple of hours later... get ready for this... I GET A CALL!!!!! The SIM card is out, and I'm able to ship it out immediately. How long this will take for Google to process? Who knows. So in short, I've been without a phone for over 2 weeks, and will likely end up being over a total of 3 weeks. I understand things happen out of anyone's control, but the level of absolute abyssmal communication I received here is staggering. I, unfortunately, dropped my phone and cracked my screen. Fortunately, I had insurance through Verizon (Asurion) and was able to make a claim. They arranged it so someone would come to my home and fix the screen for $29.99. I work in Healthcare and lately have been very busy, but I was able to schedule an appt for a Friday morning after a night shift. I get a call Thursday night to tell me they had to reschedule to Sunday. While not ideal it was my only option. 15 minutes before the tech was supposed to show up, the shop called me and told me that this repair can't be done by their mobile team and that I needed to come in at 10 when they open. Well the store did not open until noon. When I got in they said that this was a mobile claim and they couldn't repair my phone in shop. They said my two options were to file a new claim or pay $307.99 (plus tax) for them to fix my phone. read more

Not only was my phone not fixed, but my credit card information was stolen by an employee of the store. When I reached out to report the crime, they would not let me speak to the owner. I'm disgusted with the level of service and lack of compassion for their customer when their employee commits a crime. Update - Your employees would not report the crime to the police despite allegedly firing the 2 employees who were caught on camera. They did however provide the first and last name of the employees in question, and advised me to follow up with the police myself. I warned them that not calling the police would constitute failure to report a crime and was illegal so they can't claim they didn't know. I wouldn't exactly call that taking the issue seriously. Hopefully your employees didn't delete the video footage and add obstruction of Justice or tampering with evidence to the list of crimes. I'm at the police station now filing a report. Given the high reviews of your service, I'm surprised by how cavalier and dismissive your employees have been about the situation. On Yelp, the store owner has gone as far as to accuse me of slander even though they asked me to file a police report. I dropped my Samsung Galaxy S9 in the worst way yesterday and shattered the screen. That's never a favorable scenario, but I was happy to see that my Asurion insurance (provided through Verizon) covered the cost of the screen replacement with just a $29 copay. The retail cost of the replacement is $219.99! This morning I stopped into this UBREAKIFIX location without an appointment, dropped off my S9, they answered my questions regarding the techniques and tools they use to replace the phone, and just two hours later it was as good as new. I cannot exaggerate how well the repair was done; it's flawless. I should also add the staff was incredibly professional and friendly. It seems they're often in the back doing repairs, but don't be discouraged, there's a bell on the counter that they promptly respond to. My original plan wasn't to end up here. But, I ended up here. I should've stayed with that original plan of going to Apple and paying a high price to have my iP8P screen replaced, but I remembered I had Asurion coverage. Wow, I thought it was a great deal I only paid them $29 for a screen replacement. The main issue being uBreakiFix is their preferred retailer to perform the repair. Took my phone in for the repair, ask kindly to have them install a new screen protector when finished and they obliged. I picked up my phone and started to head home when I realized the touch screen wasn't recognizing my touch. Took it back inside, they removed the screen protector to check it....It would barely even work then. The only response was "it seems fine to me," and I asked about the screen protector and they said "it should be fine we basically use OEM screens." Speaking with an Apple rep, they do not stand behind third party repair centers. The screens are not properly calibrated and will hardly work correctly afterwards. Short story long, I had to go back through Asurion and the only option was a phone replacement. I came here with a friend to get the screen on his iPhone 7 Plus replaced under warranty through Asurion so he could upgrade to the iPhone XR. Although it was a small crack, repairing the glass brought the trade-in value through Apple up from $100 to $300, so the $29 deductible was more than worth it. So when we walked in, my friend hands the guy at the counter the phone and says he wants to get the cracked glass on his phone replaced. The guy at the counter looks at it and says "Are you sure you want to do that?" I know it was a small crack, but really? My friend laughed and I kind of chimed in, "It's worth more with screen fixed." That's where it spiraled downhill quickly. My friend explained that he wanted to trade in the phone. The guy asked which phone he was going to get to which my friend replied, "The XR" to which the guy replied, "Why?!?" From there he went on a five-minute tirade about how my friend was sacrificing what he really wanted and was only settling because that's what everyone else was doing. Seriously?!? What did that even mean? He literally spent that time berating my friend for his phone choice because "he knows about phones," but it wasn't any of his business. This was a horrible experience. They were completely racist and incompetent. 1. A white male employee made a racist "Jackie Chan" reference to me when I was trying to describe the issues with my phone. In addition, he was not listening when I was describing the issues and he fixed the problem that I specifically told him NOT to fix, as opposed to the problem that I actually needed him to fix. I came back the next day, and my phone was still broken. Idiot probably assumed my English was not understandable - despite that I have an MA in English, taught English, and was born here and grew up speaking English. (Not that my language competency level should determine the level of service that I get). 2. They told me that my phone would be fixed within a week. I had to constantly call them to check on the status of my phone. After a week, they told me it would take another week. After two weeks, they told me that it would take more time. I understand that they are working during COVID times, but they should have better time estimates. 3. They never fixed my phone. And they made the problem WORSE. When I gave my phone to them, it was still turning off sporadically, but I could still send information off to myself and recover my own data. When they gave it back to me, it wouldn't turn on at all. And they wanted to do a data extraction that would cost me $300. 4. Because they did not fix my phone, they were supposed to refund me.
