I went in for a battery replacement, and shortly after the repair my screen started flickering. This issue did not exist before the service. When I returned, they refused to take responsibility and said their warranty only covered the battery, not any damage caused during the repair. Very disappointing experience. Ubreakifix is a chain of electronics repair shops. My shop closed during Covid so I stopped in here to check out the operation. It is a busy place so I didn't want to take time away from the other customers while I asked a lot of questions. It's better to bring in the electronic device and have a discussion. This store is clean and new. I like the helpful brochure they made available on the windowsill. They have screensavers and other merchandise that I purchased in the past at other repair shops. I'm glad this location is close in case I have a problem in the future. At the same time I'm very thankful my electronics are in good shape right now! read more

Beware of this shop. I went in for a cracked iPhone screen. They fixed it easily and simply enough - but they used non apple approved materials (without telling me) which has left me stuck with a warning that won't go away indicating that an unknown part was installed. Also - as if to add insult to injury, they also signed me up - WITHOUT MY CONSENT - to something called Asurion Home Plus at the rate of $ 26.65 per month. As soon as I saw this, I called Asurion and cancelled my membership and fortunately they refunded my money - but it never should have happened in the first place. I've now read other reviews on here that this has happened to others, so this is apparently a regular scam they pull here and it's not appreciated. Please take your business somewhere else and save yourself the hassle of having to deal with non approved parts and being signed up for services you don't want! read more

I am a photographer so I back everything up on external hard drives to to be exact. I've been having computer problems this past week's and both of my external hard drives stopped working the same day. Since I've been around the block a few times I assumed there was something wrong with my connection somewhere the likelihood of them both dropping dead at the same time wouldn't be that possible. The only common denominator it was an adapter I had bought the day before. Nothing looked wrong with it but I knew something had to be off. I was on the phone with DELL tech-support three days in a row for four hours each time with computer problems all three technicians couldn't figure out what was wrong with the hard drives. It was then I decided to go do ubreakifix. I had a positive experience in Commack LI maybe 4 or 5 years ago and was happy there were tech help alternatives. I dropped in with my hard drives and 20 minutes later the Techs gave me the good news that there was nothing wrong but I had the adapter set on the wrong voltage. What I appreciated was,as much as I live MY LIFE with integrity, I have found in certain businesses where the average customer is not as knowledgable, companies can take advantage for their financial gain. DO NOT LEAVE ITEMS TO BE FIXED HERE!! My apple computer was at the shop to be fixed for a cracked screen. At the same time, they had a burglary and my computer(and many others were stollen). It took the store TWO MONTHS to get me a replacement computer and it is a completely Banged up, used computer, in way worse condition than mine was! I mean scratches all over it, worn down to the metal in the corners. The owner of the store cannot be reached by phone and would not respond to any of my messages. BEYOND UNPROFESSIONAL I own a tech company and used to use them a lot for phone repairs. NEVER EVER AGAIN Went in on a Saturday with my niece who was home from College. Her screen was broken and we went in and had a long discussion about how much apple overcharges for repairs and how THEY USE THE EXACT SAME PARTS and that thier price was 40 dollars less. left the phone with them and went and ran errand. The person at the register said he'd call us when it was ready. Should take about an hour. OK so 2 hours go by. We go in. He says "oh its been ready" I said why didn't you call. I got "oh sorry" then He hands my niece her phone which immediately states that the screen is aftermarket with a big warning. When I questioned him about this he said "oh that's no problem ignore it. These are the only screens we use" I said "that's absolutely not true I've purchased screens from them many times before. I pressed on and said also you charged us for a real Apple Screen! My niece was so late getting to her train at this point that she begged me to let it go and we left. The rep said "don't worry about it. If anything goes wrong we will take care of it.. We got back to the apartment to pack up her stuff and immediately the screen started flashing. I was infuriated but she wanted to just get her train. Three days later I get a call from her mom. Kennedys screen fell off again and she has no phone. I call the lex shop and go over the situation. They said "yes well that can happen with the aftermarket screens because they don't sit on correctly because of the glue and we always recommend that you get the manufacturerreplacement. You should have asked for that" I naturally lost my temper and said FIRST OF ALL YOU TOLD ME THIS WAS MY INLY OPTION. THEN SAID WHY WOULD YOU EVER PUT ON A PRODUCT THAT YOU KNOW IS FAULTY. His reply was "oh well I see now that we didn't have the other screen in stock" saying something is the only option and saying something is out of stock are 2 EXTREMELY different things. I demanded to speak with a manager who was equally as aloof and said "you can pay for a replacement with the correct glass" then when I said I was charged for the real glass he tried to tell me that oh no our real OEM glass screen replacement is almost 400 dollars! First of all they cannot charge more than Apple for an OEM product and if that's true I should report them to Apple reseller division for violation of agreement. They never fixed it or offered a resolution. I had to send my niece to Apple in Philadelphia and spent another 290 for the replacement. I paid to have my iphone screen fixed. They did what seemed to be a good job but a low drop onto a foam mat caused it to break again. This was within a week, but they refused to do anything to fix the issue. Worse, they signed me up, without asking, for Asurion Home Plus, a subscription service that costs $27 a month and can only be cancelled if you call and listen to a long, irritating sales spiel. I'm so glad they moved into the neighborhood. I used to have to take my phones to Chelsea for repair. Having a responsive and reputable shop in the neighborhood is awesome. I recently took my phone in for a new battery. The service went as expected and I was a satisfied customer. A few weeks later my phone stopped taking a charge. I ran into the store at 7:45p on a Saturday, 15 minutes before they closed. Alex quickly looked at the phone and after confirming it was not charging, changed out the battery, set it up to charge to 10% and sent me on my way. Also, in that time an older lady came in with a lot of bizarre questions and requests. Zar was patient and accommodating through the entire exchange. I was very impressed! Great service, great value. I wanted to write them a 5 star review. I went in with a cracked screen and came out with a fixed screen covered by my ASURION insurance. However, the person who worked there tried to keep selling me things. For example, they wanted to sell me a LIQUID GLASS SCREEN PROTECTOR for $76, which I bought. the LIQUID GLASS made my screen more sensitive and the screen cracked worse than it was prior. I have had many samsung phones and dropped them all! This time, I barely let it go and the screen is worse than I have ever seen. It is supposedly covered both a 90 day warranty from UBREAKIFIX and ASFALIS WARRANTY CENTER. Well, NEITHER of them will pay for the damage - what is a warranty if they won't replace a defective item. You have no choice to go here if your phone is damaged and you want it replaced by ASURION (can you say Monopoly?). So, if you must do it - I will be returning to get my screen fixed because I do not see an alternative. Do not let them sell you on ANYTHING in the store, they did exactly what they set out to do -- #1 make money off of my broken screen #2 make money off of a bad product (liquid glass screen protector), which leads us to: #3 make sure customer returns for a new screen to make more money again all by being in possible cahoots with ASFALIS because both companies guarantee that your phone is covered by a warranty until it is damaged, then they both say "OH, WE DO NOT COVER REPAIRS!" well, then, what do you mean by my phone is covered by a warranty? What are you covering? What are you replacing? What are you helping with? I wonder how these people sleep at night taking all of my money. read more

He was the person I got on the phone when I called about fixing my son's X-Box and have it back before he left for college. IVI ordered that part, tracked it to be certain it would arrive in time, and kept me informed every step of the way. It turned out that the X-Box had a shot motherboard and was unable to be fixed. For me to take the time to write this review when we didn't complete the repair or transaction should inform the management at the store just how special and employee Ivi is. Verizon sent me here to fix my small crack on the right corner of my iPhone and I wish I hadn't gone there. They changed my whole screen to a fake one (I'm not happy about it but I don't really care that much about that) what makes me angry is that the Face ID was not working and when I called them, they said they didn't calibrate it, so I had to miss class and go back just for them to tell me that they did calibrate it and that's I was my fault because I hadn't updated my software (WHICH I DID long before I went there) and they just said that maybe the phone was defective when my phone was working Perfectly fine before I brought it there. Now they're saying that I have to file a new claim -which means more money- and they didn't help me at all. I'm very disappointed by this store and the quality of their products read more

The Manager called to smooth things over. Apparently the employee was reprimanded and there shouldn't be any other similar issues from him onwards. I went to this store because i purchased insurance through verizon and my sons phone was malfuctioning. The person who i spoke with first told me my sons phone had water damage (it did not) and then said that he basically did not know what was wrong with the phone had me call verizon and said that they wouldnt replace the phone due to the "water damage" and a scratch on the font. I left and took the phone to apple who confirmed the phone DID NOT have any water damage and replaced the phone FOR FREE under the warranty! I took our Dell laptop that had a damaged touch screen for repair. Had it back in six hours and it was good to go. Highly recommended.

This store was fine with the actual repairs. I needed a battery replaced on my phone, and they did a nice job with that. HOWEVER (and this is a big exception) the repair person apparently signed me up for an Asurion Home Plus plan without my consent, leading to extra monthly charges on my credit card bill. If you are using this store for any repair services, double check your credit card statement so that they don't sign you up against your will. I ended up having to call Asurion directly and getting this fixed, but it was a complete waste of my time. More importantly, this is unethical behavior, and apparently other reviewers have faced this as well in the past. Next time, I'll take my business elsewhere, as I don't want to waste my time or my money dealing with a business I can't trust. read more

Over a week later I could not get a clear answer of when the laptop would be returned back to the store. I was offered to go pick up the laptop at their depot location almost an hour away.
