Probably the best ice cream In bar Harbor. I tried the salted caramel pretzel which was excellent because of the caramel was so sweet and had actual chunks of pretzel in it. My boyfriend got the moose tracks which had actual chunks of peanut butter cups. I agree with the reviews that the price is cheaper and they are very generous with their portions. I have only tried ice cream from here and it was excellent. They do however have ice cream Sundays and other desserts. I must go for bar Harbor. read more

I had a less than ideal experience there. I was in line behind a young lady and she had a concern about a food allergy. She asked the counter person about an ingredient. She got an answer, " I don't know and maybe". She then asked for the ingredient binder, and she got the same answer. So I highly doubt this is homemade as advertised since they have no idea what is in the product they are selling. Maine Blueberry on a home made waffle cone was amazing. The ice cream was full of giant juicy blueberries. It didnt taste fake as it use real blueberries. The ice cream was not excessively sweet to detract from the use of real blueberries. The home made cone was crunchy and did not fall apart. We loved the ice cream so much that we came two days in a row while we were in the Acadia area. I have my favorite local places but was intrigued by this place after I saw the long lines and 4.5 stars and it's more convenient for us than having to drive all the way into BH and fight for a parking space. Unfortunately it doesn't measure up, in my opinion. The ice cream was too cold (so cold it was hard to get the spoon into it). My coffee oreo was lacking in coffee flavor and the oreos were fully frozen through. My husband is way less snobby than me about ice cream and he agreed this was below average ice cream. After placing my reasonably priced order (especially considering the establishment's proximity to Bar Harbor), I proceeded to move to the next window to await my ice cream being handed to me. This too was done in reasonable time. Upon tasting the creamy delight that was the ice cream served at Udder Heaven, I knew I had came to the right place. It was relatively unique among ice cream that I, a well traveled and handsome individual, have tasted in my life. There was an interesting consistency to it, reminiscent of my time in the city once known as Constantinople. I quickly gobbled down the frozen delight, licking my chops in satisfaction upon the job's completion. As mentioned at the beginning of this review, my opinions are the definitive statement of fact regarding any and all places where food and/or drink are served. I think to judge an ice cream place you have to start with the ice cream without all the frills and toppings. I had the chocolate peanut butter and butter pecan. Both were delicious. I like my chocolate peanut butter a bit more peanut buttery, but it was still yummy. Nice chunks of pecans in the butter pecan. Very creamy and great texture. My husband had a chocolate vanilla shake. He enjoyed it as well. I had my ice cream on a waffle cone. Probably the best waffle cone I have ever had. Not too thick. Great flavor.
