I had a leak. Got 4 quotes and UEC came in fairly priced and cheap compared to 2 of the other companies. They communicated well and got the job done efficiently and did a great job. I don't recommend UEC for work needed promptly or for confidence of a job done well. They were a higher price than others but I went with them based on reviews which was a huge mistake. TL;DR: My $6K repair project was mismanaged--slow to start, abandoned halfway, then billed, with no oversight or communication and was gaslit in the process. The work doesn't match the contract or our verbal agreements, as pipes and satellites remain on the roof. That said, I am not confident in the quality of what was done. TL; Want to Read?: The project started 2-3 months after signing the contract (a crew just randomly showed up one day unannounced) then was left unfinished and fell completely off their radar for 5 weeks - in the May rain and all. I was billed without any confirmation the job was done, and only after I requested a walkthrough did a crew show up and work the full day without letting me know --proving it wasn't complete. Then left at the end of the day without any communication if it was done or if they needed to come back. When I was billed again, I asked for a walkthrough to double check everything done (I could see the satellites and piping that was supposed to come off)- I was told they don't do walkthroughs to verify work was done for repairs. Apparently, even if $6,000 repairs, don't warrant that luxury - Or if they lost complete oversight of your job. Eddie, the project manager, only contacted me when it was time to collect payment. He also lied about speaking during project set up (I was told he was going to reach out for scheduling and deposit but that never happened. People literally showed up out of nowhere) while threatening a lien on my property before coming to verify the job was finished. When we met in person, It was clear he was unaware of the details of the signed contract and blamed the sales rep for writing the scope. He also promised the crew would return that same day to remove satellite dishes since the workers and Lauren in accounting previously agreed to remove--then ghosted the moment he got the check. I had a leaky patio roof I needed to have fixed. I got the three bids and UEC came in the lowest. They did a good job putting down the new flat roof, very professional. After the big rains here in Escondido I noticed the patio roof was leaking again. I called the company and they promptly sent out a roofing technician to figure out the problem. He inspected the patio roof and said everything was fine but he did notice two broken Spanish red tiles on our house's roof. UEC was hired to only do the patio roof but they replaced the cement Spanish tiles that were broken! I had some extra tile in the backyard. Our first experience with this company was a positive one, albeit expensive, but they did offer us a senior discount. Randy came out for a quote shortly after our request was posted here on Yelp. He was courteous, professional and informative. The use of their drone helped to show us what the roof looked like, and what needed to be done. He was prompt with texts and emails when needed. The work was completed a bit earlier than the 2/3 week delay we expected due to a cancellation they had. We were anxious to get it done prior to more expected rain and to settle our plans for a pending trip out of state. Francisco and his crew completed the work in one days time. They also provided photos of before and after that were helpful. We expect this roof job to last several years and if we have any future problems I will add to this post. Communication is awful...I think they have too many cooks in the kitchen or something because they don't communicate internally which leads to their customer communication being slow/awful. List of issues: no-show on day job was to be performed, when they were at the house: hammer fell off roof, they got paint on my house due to improper maintenance (should have painted wood on the ground before installing...not after the board was put on house), they left the area a mess (nails on ground, wood splinters on ground) I would rather not have a roof at all than ever use this company again. read more

I think they are very pricey but my issue is, they were out two weeks ago to repair my roof along my fireplace. There work was poor to begin with and now my roof is leaking again at fireplace and they do not want to give me my money back or even offer a partial refund and now my drywall that I just replaced by my fireplace inside is damaged again, nor do they want to pay for that because it says in the contract they don't pay for any damages, even though they didn't fix my roof, right. I will be going to small claim. They charged me $2700 to make repairs and they couldn't even do that correctly . I absolutely 100% do not recommend this company. Beware! These guys do really great work, and both times I got multiple quotes from other companies, and their price is very competitive. This 2nd time they offered to do general roof maintenance to prevent this issue from happening in any other areas, which I'm sure is well worth the money spent.
