The teachers age shows in the MA class. Almost like high school. I guess students that are there months ahead get treated like her best friends while new beginners feel more Comfortable to only practice with other newbies. It shouldn't be that way, there is no picking and choosing in a real facility. Professional behavior should be practiced in the class, the teacher only speaks up about the inequality only after the problem gets worse, yet she was apart of the problem from the beginning, picking and choosing who her best friends are. And because her mother works there I guess she can do what she wants, as she explained, as if that gives her more push and pull. Happy to have finished couldn't wait to get out of there. One of the things that sets UEI Riverside apart from other career colleges is its focus on specialty programs. The college offers a number of programs that are designed to prepare students for specific careers. I am a surgical tech by profession with 15 years of experience. Currently I am enrolled in the Medical Coding Program. Both my teachers are great and have a strong background and knowledge. Sarai, my UEI Riverside representative, has been incredibly helpful throughout the admissions process. She has been responsive to my questions. Mr. Alverez, the Admissions Directory at UEI Riverside, has also been very helpful. Though very stern, his goal has always been for his students success. honestly have to say it open up many things for me and my new per diem job as a Surgical Tech is 12 mins away from school. At first I was very excited to go but once I realized I was close my externship they found me a not to good externship site and I wasn't able to stay there. I graduate October 2023 and since then I haven't found a job as a medical assistant. I try reaching out to career services specially ms Inge since she was the one that had to help me but haven't helped me at all. If I could put a zero I would they don't deserve any stars for the Medical Billing and Coding course. I went to the school to get further knowledge on the coding side since I'm already a medical biller but I learn not one single thing. The curriculum is so out dated. Companies rarely use paper claims everything is now electronic. They only show you the CMS 1500 form and barely touch on the UB 04 . This whole campus is just one ghetto mess and the only thing they are there to do is collect a check from the state. You don't even receive books the are all ebooks even then the books are updated every October and they won't give you updated books. Keep in mind you take your own books to the state exam so if you have an out dated book your answers may be incorrect. There is NO hands on they just hand out the homework and you complete it yourself. It is truly sink or swim for the people that have never been in the field. Oh the biggest part is you are learning all Medical Assistant Stuff which has nothing to do with billing. I can go on and on about this school SO IF YOU GO HERE YOU WILL BE GOING AT YOUR OWN RISK AND BE PREPARED TO ATTEND ANOTHER SCHOOL AFTERWARDS!!! You will not be nowhere close to being able to take the test. $18,000-$20,000 gone down the drain and you will have to make payments 6 months afterwards. read more

This is a school that if you want Hans on this is the school for it. I have learned a lot in the school for HVAC came in with knowing nothing and I'm leaving knowing something but it all depends on you is you're committed to the cost which is HVAC the teachers are great helpful the show you what you want to learn all you have to do is ask they will teach you and show you the right way. Very unprofessional staff. very rude. They don't help you. I went to school here and they never gave me my things on time. Such as cpr card etc. It's been 6 months since I've finished here and when I spoke to MRS. SMITH from the dental program. I asked her if she could do me the favor of giving me my certificate and cpr card she went off saying that it wasn't fair to her having to find me all my things after finishing the program 6 months ago, but she had already told me she had everything there that I'd have to pick them up. On Monday she said she couldn't do anything about giving me my stuff because there were no students on campus so that I would have to come on Tuesday, but that she could send my certificate to my boss I just had to send her the email so I did.. since I told her I wouldn't be able to work if I didn't have it. But she never did, and to top it all up I messaged her again and she never replied back which I felt was unprofessional since she works in that department and they told me to talk to her. She could of at least said no. Also when coming to school here I felt the instructors didn't care about you there's favoritism. Very few I'd say care about your education. read more

I've tried multiple times to get my MA certificate and no help at all. Not even from the collections manager. They say they understand and always talk your way into signing up with them but in the end you're all alone they won't help you at all! Don't come here. I was told I have to pay my loans off before I can receive my diploma. I worked my ass off and did just that I don't owe ANYTHING and still nothing. How are you going to get a job without showing proof that you graduated?? Thanks now I can't take the job offer for the career I worked so hard in and graduated in because I don't have proof of it. When I first visited UEI College Riverside, I was nervous and scared, knowing that the feeling is just like moving to a new school with no one that I know. I was wrong, a counselor whose name Angela comforted me throughout the process. She was very kind, encouraging, and made me feel like UEI more like home. After a few days at UEI, I made new friends and I felt even more comfortable because the staffs is nice and so as other classmates. 5/5 star I highly recommend. read more

The school was an amazing place to study everyone in the staff was very helpful. I love my few teachers I went through I learned a lot of things from each of them. For externship it was an okay experience I was expecting to learn more the clinic was not very much hands on experience. I felt like I had to keep asking to be taught, the environment was so toxic I loved my job helping others but professional wise it wasn't so good. Co workers talked bad about each other about me etc. We didn't feel like a team. They said smart remarks in front of patients I just felt stuck wanting to stay for the experience but also wanting to leave because of the environment. Over all stayed for 6 months after being hired on and left for my own well being. It's been hard trying to find another location that has more hands on experience and is willing to hire on someone that is still learning :) I had reached out to the career center about looking for another site and they told me they would contact me but they never did.. read more

I was searching around for colleges and I was interested in more info so I left my info and got a call and I realized on the phone this wasn't the right fit. I have a busy schedule and I'm a stay at home mom. I need something self paced or just weekends. Now I have been getting harassed with phone calls every day from them trying to get me to still enroll. Do not leave your info unless you are 100% positive your want to enroll here or else you will get bombarded with phone calls. They don't leave a message either just keep calling. I had ONE good teacher the entire time I went, Mr. Aguilar, he's the only reason I stayed in that school. UEI didn't send me my FAFSA net student loans which I was suppose to use for living expenses(I take care of my fiancé and son so I definitely qualified for full aid). They just kept that money and I still have a balance due to them for the same amount that they were supposed to disburse to me. They didn't notify me, not even junk mail notifications about it, they just never paid me despite fafsa saying they should've. They don't even have the right tools for learning so half of my classes I just sat there with the excuse of "we ordered them, they should've been here by now." The online portion is even worse, their platform for learning is littered with typos, they caught on that their platform was easily passable through cheating w other websites like chegg so you know what they did? They made some questions just more illiterate and put wrong answers as the correct ones. It lacks professionalism and good presentation, it feels like a school that should be in Baja California. To top it off I can't get certified till I pay off the full loan, despite being told I'd get certified when I graduate. So definitely research this school and look at actual people's review, and definitely from people who've already graduated as they have the full experience. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. I graduated from this school in 2015 they say they will help you find a job in your field of study and they don't. They take your money and leave you hanging. I studied to be a DA. None of the offices I've applied or interviewed to hired me solely because they haven't heard of this schools program and it isn't accredited. I've applied twice and gotten different numbers of how much I would have to pay for tuition for starters FINANCIAL AID Natalie was very rude to my mom and I when asking questions about our options for payment. Enrique Alvarez director of admissions degraded me saying I don't want to go to school because of "student loans" and I defended my self saying that wasn't the case he goes on to ask what job I work at I tell him it's fast food place he tells me we'll go back to that job your working at since school isn't going to be something you want he continued telling me that I don't want to pay student loans which wasn't the case and he said I wanted things handed to me and for it to be free. I broke down crying as he continued to say all those things to me Sara she was nice throughout the process but she let me down once she just listened to Enrique tell me all those horrible thing he did. This review is based solely on a phone conversation that I had today with a woman named Yidiara? Not sure how you spell it. I put my info on their website to contact me because I was interested in one of their programs. Not even 2 mins later someone already calls me. Sounds good right? No. They were pushy and asked annoying questions. They wanted to set up an appt right away to tour the campus that same day. I said I already have some other appointments today(drs) tomorrow will be better. She started asking personal questions about what kind of appointments I was attending to today. LIKE NONE YA BUSINESS GIRL. But whatever I let it slide and scheduled an appt for the following day. Probably about 5 mins later someone else called me from the same campus to schedule a tour. I told them I already spoke to Yidiara. He very oddly said that no one works here by that name.... his voice sounded so creepy I immediately hung up and will NOT be going to my appt tomorrow with them ESPECIALLY after reading these reviews. Oh and also, Yidiara gave me her personal # which was a Bakersfield number.... I don't know, the whole situation just seemed really weird and sketchy. Got a weird vibe from them. read more

We have never been treated with such disrespect and I unprofessionalism with UEI riverside staff. They were very helpful in the beginning and suddenly when things come up with work and we have to cancel plans unfortunately they gave us a hard time, basically putting us down and saying "have a nice life" is NO way to treat a person under any circumstance. I think Linda who is a counselor there was very rude and I wish I could give this place 0 stars. I hope they train their staff to being more professional and respectful to their future and present students because this was unacceptable. DO NOT GO HERE!
