First time visiting a UFC gym facility. Upon entering I was greeted at the front desk by Gabe, who was very welcoming and friendly. He then connected me with Josh (in sales), who introduced himself and gave me a thorough tour of the entire facility. He addressed all my questions about the gym and the individual equipment. Although, I was here only for a day pass, the staff treated me as if I was considering a full time membership. This spoke volumes of the company's commitment to providing each potential member with the same respect regardless if they ultimately decided to purchase a membership or not. Kudos, to both Josh and Gabe for their professionalism and outstanding customer service. I'd ask management acknowledge them in some fashion for their good works. Pretty disappointed in this one. I started looking for a new gym and this was my first stop, never coming back. I will start by saying the facility is nearby, very clean, patrons clean up after themselves well and aside from the typical phone scrollers hogging machines, I was able to get in a decent workout session each time. Equipment was new and several varieties, lots of heavy bags, octagon, challenging obstacles. I walked in and first thing I hear is "they can't come in!" Referring to my kids. I had heard that this gym allowed ages 8+ with parent supervision. Whatever the case maybe, no way to greet a potential customer. Automatic turn off. I respect the rules, but the next time I went, I saw a ton of kids walking the floor. What gives? My kids are almost teens! This alone swayed me away from becoming a member. It turns out the manager was the manager for this location, which is shocking to me. It must trickle down to the staff, they were not very friendly, knowledgeable of the membership options and the pricing did not appeal to me one bit. I hate to stick with 24 hour fitness, but sadly it's a better choice. read more

I've been a UFC Gym member since joining the La Mirada location in 2020, and I still have the Ultimate VIP membership that is no longer offered. I've stayed loyal because I genuinely value my membership, which is why this experience was so disappointing. I recently renewed my membership for another 3 years ($849 paid in full, with an additional 3 months added). During my phone conversation with Daniel Aguilar, I specifically told him I wanted to use the option to split the payment in half. Despite that, my credit card was charged the entire $849. This isn't the first time this has happened during one of my renewals, which makes it even more frustrating. When something like this happens more than once, it starts to feel like the customer's wishes aren't being respected. Whether it was a mistake or not, it leaves a bad impression and makes me question the sales process. I've always enjoyed being a member, but experiences like this make me hesitant to continue working with Daniel Aguilar for future renewals. Going forward, I won't be handling my renewals through him. I hope management takes this feedback seriously. Long-time members deserve to have their instructions followed, especially when it comes to charging hundreds of dollars to a credit card. Customer trust is earned through attention to detail and communication, and unfortunately, this experience fell short. read more

This gym is okay. Front desk staff aren't customer oriented at all. They don't acknowledge your presence when you walk in or leave. They are too busy conversing with one another. Paper towels are not placed in dispensers, the bottom of the flat and adjustable benches are filthy, the mat in front of one of the adjustable benches is raised and I almost tripped. Lol Just seems lazy and unkempt. Anyway, I'm a newbie and joined based on all the great reviews. Luckily this place is month to month. I'll give it a little more time. read more

Been trying to transfer from one UFC location to this one for the past week. The two guys at the front desk with blond hair that look like slim shady were not helpful at all and one of them was really rude in his demeanor. I feel like they were playing with my emotions. Not really addressing the situation. I also tried to get it done with the manager he was cool but he's very non chalant he gave me the paper to sign but then he just walked away. So I gave it to the staff they told me he would give me a call to make the payment. 5 days later I've received no call & they still won't let me in the LA Mirada location. I got a new job by this gym and Jesse would let me check it out before he went on leave. I was exited to join this one because it is very nice as far as the gym goes. But the staff just made my experience horrible, So now I will be going to LA Fitness it's closer to my job anyway. read more

I joined UFC Gym La Mirada four years ago after one Jiu-Jitsu trial class with Coach Anthony Renteria, and that single class changed my path completely. Anthony wasn't just a coach -- he built athletes. He mentored, developed, and inspired students like me to grow beyond what we thought was possible. The Jiu-Jitsu program had identity, structure, and leadership. Recently, Coach Mikey Alcantar has been a great addition. He's skilled, motivating, and brings high-level instruction to the mats. The students genuinely respect him However, it's frustrating to see the gym consistently fail to retain quality Jiu-Jitsu coaches. Strong leadership keeps a program alive, and the instability has affected the community. On top of that, the Jiu-Jitsu class schedule is limited and not flexible enough for working adults. Serious students need consistent training opportunities. Because of poor coach retention and restricted class times, many dedicated students have felt forced to leave and train elsewhere. The gym has potential -- but without stable coaching and better scheduling, it's difficult for the Jiu-Jitsu program to thrive long term. read more

We have a family membership and couldn't be happier with our decision to join UFC Gym. We left our previous gym because much of the equipment wasn't working properly, and we often had to wait 20-30 minutes just to use a treadmill. At UFC Gym, we've never had those issues. The facility is always clean, the equipment is well maintained, the recovery room is excellent as well and the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. The classes have been amazing! If you enjoy strength training, I highly recommend Nicole's class, she is the best! I've also taken several other classes, and every instructor has been fantastic. I have trained at a lot of gyms, and UFC Gym La Mirada is easily one of the best I have stepped into. From the second I walked in, the professionalism stood out. The front desk was welcoming, the energy was positive, and everything felt structured and intentional. I had the chance to meet Mike, one of the managers, and he was outstanding. Extremely respectful, sharp, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in creating a high level environment. You can tell he leads with standards, not shortcuts. The cleanliness of this gym deserves its own paragraph. The floors are spotless. The equipment is organized and well maintained. The locker rooms are clean. It does not have that overcrowded, neglected feel some gyms in the LA area have. Everything feels premium and well managed. The layout is excellent. Plenty of space to train without feeling cramped. The equipment selection is strong whether you are lifting heavy, doing functional work, or getting into MMA style training. The culture is focused. People come here to work. If you are in La Mirada or anywhere nearby and you are serious about improving your fitness, strength, or overall discipline, this is the place. Not hype. Not marketing. Just quality. I am extremely disappointed to be writing this review because I have a long history with UFC Gym La Mirada. I worked at this location as a personal trainer from 2018 to 2020, and during that time I genuinely loved the brand, the culture, the staff, and the community. I never imagined I would find myself leaving a review like this. My issue began when I went into the gym in person to cancel my membership. Despite completing the cancellation process, I was charged two additional membership payments after my cancellation. The gym currently owes me $657 in refunds. For the past two months, I have been trying to resolve this matter directly with the gym. I have made numerous phone calls, had multiple conversations with staff, and have done everything I can to give the gym an opportunity to make this right before posting a public review. Unfortunately, I have received little to no resolution. What has been most frustrating is the lack of communication and follow-through regarding my refund. I have repeatedly been told that the issue would be addressed, yet I am still waiting for my money. To make matters worse, my interactions with Mike, the Operations Manager, have left me feeling dismissed and disrespected. Rather than feeling like a valued customer whose concern was being taken seriously, I felt as though I was being treated as an inconvenience. I take no pleasure in writing this review. In fact, it makes me sad. As a former employee who once spoke highly of UFC Gym and believed in what the brand represented, this experience has been incredibly disappointing. I never wanted to escalate this issue publicly, but after two months of trying to resolve it directly and still not receiving my refund, I feel like I have run out of options. We switched gyms because our previous gym was always crowded and I could never get any machine or squat rack. Also that crowd was not inviting. Since joining UFC, I've had amazing workouts. I've been a long-time member of this gym, and I want to start by saying the facility itself is great. The equipment is solid, the amenities are well-maintained, and overall it's a place I've genuinely enjoyed training at over the years. That's what makes this experience even more disappointing. I purchased a couple of personal training sessions at a discounted rate and was clearly told I had three months to use them. Not even two months later, I tried to book one of those sessions for a recovery workout, only to be told they had already expired. That alone was frustrating, but what really made it worse was how it was handled. The fitness director's (Aaron) response was simply, "but I texted you, but I texted you," repeated as if that somehow justified everything. For context, I never agreed to receive text messages from the gym in the first place. I get a high volume of messages daily because of work, which is exactly why I avoid giving out my number unless necessary. On top of that, one of the messages was sent in the middle of the night, which is completely unprofessional. Instead of taking accountability or trying to find a reasonable solution, it felt dismissive and poorly handled. There was no effort to resolve the situation or even acknowledge that the communication method itself was an issue. On top of that, I've started to notice things that raise bigger concerns. The general manager is a friendly guy, but openly promoting peptides and anabolic steroids as if they're harmless is concerning. I'm not against people making their own choices, but seeing that culture trickle into the gym environment--and now even finding needles in the locker room/bathroom area--is a serious problem and a major red flag. Again, the gym itself is great. But management and overall professionalism are a huge part of the experience, and right now that's what's making me seriously question whether I want to continue being a member here. If you're just looking for a place to work out, this gym delivers. But if you expect professionalism, clear communication, and a safe environment, you may want to think twice. read more

Cleanliness & repairs have gone downhill lately. There's always broken sinks, treadmills & stairmasters, dirty water filters that don't get changed & the restrooms are always dirty with no paper towels. But yet they want to charge extra $10 if you go over a minute in your childcare time. I'm late to pick up my kids because I have to wait in line in the restroom to wash my hands due to the broken sinks.
