I love this store & spend lots of money here. I made platinum in just a couple months. Every time I walk in, I'm immediately greeted. I'm also checked on quite frequently while slowly shopping. I do find at times they are out of things I need, but I had an associate or manager over hear one time & instantly came up & apologized & gave me the travel size set for free until the product I needed was back in. I like Ulta and the selection of products and services but for a larger store, this location fell short on inventory. I went for the Kopari Body Serum and the only option was to purchase online. On top of that, it was the first day of Kopari's gift with purchase and this location "ran out" of the gifts. The one good thing was that no one on the sales floor was around to "persuade" me into a purchase. Store was fairly clean even though busy, especially at the salon. read more

Despite my terrible experience last time, tried again and my experience was somehow worse. I initially made an appointment for the salon. One hour before the appt the salon called to cancel it because the stylist was running too behind. I spoke to a manager who rescheduled my appt for another day and gave me 20% off. The lady that cut my hair had no clue what she was doing. I asked her to braid my hair and she didn't know how. I spoke to the manager upon leaving and her solution was to get the salon educator in to help the stylist. Which doesn't help me at all yor fix how awful my hair looks. read more

Sales associate gave me recommendation for which shade to try. Excited. Cashier was friendly and didn't rush me even when there was a line. Instead she called for additional help. Recommend. Will never ever shop here again. They get shipments and don't schedule employees to unpack them in a timely matter. So their inventory says they have what I came there to buy, but I can't buy it. Your cashier Anita tried to bully me into creating an Ultamate rewards account by telling me a receipt is not enough for a return... She said I had to provide an email because if the item didn't work out, I would need it in the system to return. I stated "are you not going to give me a receipt?" And she replied "that is not enough for a return" although the receipt states "please retain receipt for returns" and "returns are easy! If you are not a member or did not use your membership number, your original receipt is required". I really really needed a new skincare routine and was so incredibly lost. Pax then approached me like an angel from heaven asking if I needed help. When they came back they instantly helped me by asking a few questions about my goals and my budget. Then they quickly ran around the store with no hesitation at all to build me a 6 step routine. This is the closest Ulta to me so I come here often but it's definitely not my favorite. Pros: -Located in a huge shopping complex with Target, Sprouts, Home Goods and other restaurants and shops so it makes one stop shopping very easy -Ulta takes coupons and offers $3.50 off $10 coupons a lot so there's always a way to save -Huge selection of makeup, hair and nail care, perfume, etc. -Employees are helpful most of the time Cons: -The salon. THEY ARE THE WORST. I have been twice and have booked online both times. When you book online they give you an "approximate" cost for whatever you're having done. Both times it's been more than said "approximate" cost and I'm told this once I'm in the chair. By that point I'm in need of a cut so I really can't do anything except sit there and be pissed off. The girls that cut my hair were really immature and seedy, I don't need to be mean mugged while getting my hair done so please step aside 23 year old. -Quality of the Ulta brand of makeup appears to have gone down. I love their lip gloss and anytime I buy one, the lip gloss seeps through when I close it and gets all over my pockets purse, etc. I've been going to Ulta for over 13 years but it's quality has changed. First of all no one here is greeted properly, when they see you walking in employees will scatter and run away.?The one woman that works there with super bleached blonde hair slightly heavy will never ask if you need help unless you are a white person, her eyes will gloss right over you, how does Ulta find people like this?! Chrishelly Portillo did an AMAZING job with my hair cut, as well as made me feel comfortable. We joked and talked the whole time, and I was no longer nervous about cutting so much hair off. First and last time here. Did the order-ahead curbside pick-up. Followed all the directions. My husband let them know he'd arrived. 25 minutes later when no one had showed up, he went inside to pick up the order. No one else was in the curbside pickup line, so it's not like they were swamped with online orders. No apology from the cashier. She confirmed my husband's order, reached around the petition to hand him the purchase, and because she wasn't looking at what she was doing, dropped the bag on the floor. Every time I come into this ulta i have issues with their cash wrap process. They ask you for your phone number, and never tell you how many points you have on your account. They never ask if you would like to redeem them. And when you ask "how many points do I have?" They act irritated as if I am causing an issue for them. EVERY TIME. yeah you actually have ___ dollars off. And you then have to ask to USE the points. Im a store manager of a retail store. And I'm 100% positive that there is a prompt on the POS system letting them know the customer has points to redeem. To me it looks like they are trained to not tell you unless you ask about it. Dont have a rewards program if you're not going to tell customers about it. Dont have a rewards program and then try to withhold the rewards from consumers who pay the money to gain them in the first place. read more

The service at this Ulta is pretty poor, which is driving my rating. Yes, this Ulta has everything any other Ulta store would have, & is super conveniently located... but the customer service is lacking. Almost every time I go into the store, it's pretty empty. I am almost never greeted with a hello by any employee, as they're all standing around chatting amongst themselves. Fine, but when you have a customer, the polite thing to do is to say hello & ask if they need help... What threw me over the edge was my experience today. I was looking for a particular item from Clinique that ulta.com said this store had in stock, as opposed to other stores that said not available. There were 3 employees at Clinique, & not one asked me if I needed help finding anything as I walked by. I circled the Clinique section hoping to find the item without assistance, but had no luck. So I went to find an employee. When I told her the item I was looking for, she looked at me like I'm not even speaking English & repeats the item name. I confirm, & she does a weak look in one section & says they must have sold out. I tell her that online said they had it available & she has no response. So I walk away & check online again to see if maybe they had sold out, & it's still telling me they have them in-store. I go back to the lady to ask if she can check in the back & she literally tells me, "No, but YOU can go look up front." She doesn't offer to look for me, doesn't look in her system, anything. Needless to say, this store will not be getting my business. It's called customer service for a reason. read more

The master stylist, Christina, in the Ulta beauty in Aurora did not do a right job and does not have communication skills. Instead of doing the full head of highlights for me as I requested, she only highlighted a few hairs for me. She was expected to spend 2-2.5 hours highlighting my hair as mentioned on their website, but she only spent 1 hour on my hair though I have way more hair than most people. In addition, she did not warn me that copper color on the black hair is not obvious. If I had known this, I would not have my hair highlighted in copper. She told me that stylists in Ulta Beauty get promoted based on seniority, not on skills. I can see this during my experience with her. All in all, I can barely see any highlights that cost me $85. I would not recommend that you go to Ulta Beauty to get your hairs done. read more

On 9/19/16 I went to the Ulta Salon on Briarwood Cir in Aurora Colorado to have my hair done. I had a consultation with Kenzie, who was doing my hair, and Andrea, the salon manager. I told them that I was interested in an ash blonde color with a picture reference from Pinterest. I know that requesting a style like something you see in a picture won't always turn out the same, but at least something like it. I expressed my interest in a reverse ombré and they used the word "balayage" which are pretty similar to my knowledge. In the picture the hair was darker at the top with a fade to a lighter color. I told them that I wanted to have my hair a bit different from the picture though. I wanted the lighter color on top and the darker on the bottom because I don't like to consistently have my hair done. Since my natural hair color was similar to the bottom portion of the picture I thought this would make sense to them. Little did I know that she would do the exact opposite, and poorly at that. Kenzie and Andrea talked about what colors they would use but used their salon jargon so I had no idea that anything might be different than what I had requested. They stopped to ask me about it being a drastic change for me since I haven't colored my hair in a long time. With the picture from Pinterest in mind I was like "no, I'm not concerned at all!" So Kenzie started mixing the color while I was sitting there. I was so excited to have this done! She started at the back of my head so I did not see the color that she was applying to my roots. By the time she reached the front of my head I noticed that the color was very dark but I didn't say anything (big mistake) because I trusted that she knew what she was doing. We had small talk about my hair and how awesome she thought it was going to be. After applying the dark color to all of my roots she began to use a lighter color on the ends of my hair and I was so scared at this point. I still didn't say anything though because I am not a very confrontational person. I sit there for a while and text my husband with my concern. He assured me that it would look great and not to worry. She finished my hair and showed me after she washed and styled it. My roots were black. I've never wanted black hair in my life. She told me it would lighten but to still use color safe shampoo. I asked her if I should use any other products because my hair felt very dry. She told me she wasn't worried about it but to use leave in conditioner. I didn't say anything about not liking it because I did not want to hurt her feelings. I went home and cried. I was so devastated that I wound up with black hair. So I called back two days later to see if I could have a follow up to have it lightened. It gets scheduled for the coming Friday. I asked if I would be charged again and was told "no, since you called back right away." So I go in on Friday. Kenzie was happy to help and let me know that she would do her best to lighten it by using some sort of clarifying wash. She washed it several times and then put something in it and set me under the heater for it to process. She rinsed me and did a tiny bit of blow drying and told me that she was sorry I didn't like it but this was the best she could do without charging me again. It was a couple shades lighter, but still not what I wanted. Again, I went home and cried. I hate this. I would have never asked for black hair ever. So I let myself cool down for a couple of days and hoped that it would get a bit lighter. It didn't. So today, exactly one week later, I called Ulta and requested to speak with the Salon manager. I was polite, told her who I was and the service that I had done. She responded with "I remember." I expressed my feelings to her and nicely requested a refund because at this point I do not want to process my hair anymore. She referenced the consultation and stated that the darkness of my hair was actually lighter than the picture I showed them. I disagreed and told her that even if that were true Kenzie still didn't do what was requested. I reminded her that I asked for the dark to be on the ends of my hair because I didn't want it to be so obvious when hair started to grow out. She argued back and let me know that they would not be refunding me any money in a very rude tone. I let her know that I would be reaching out to someone else to have the matter resolved and she ended the call with "go ahead and call whoever you need to." The managers lack of customer service was absolutely unacceptable. I've initiated a disputed for the $177 that they charged me and will be hearing back about it relatively soon, but if I can spare someone else the emotions that I've been dealt in the past week I would love to do so. read more

Wow. I am very much surprised that this Ulta has such a bad review. I had three separate people help me here and they were so nice and helpful. The two that helped me on the floor helped me choose the product I needed and they didn't just show me the most expensive thing. They walked me through what they thought were the best products for what I needed. The first lady that helped me was with me for probably 10-15 minutes until I found what I liked and answered all my questions. The other person that helped me also answered every question I had and further helped me decide in what I should get. The cashier I had was super nice as well and she gave me an additional coupon because I was having complications loading mine. This is and always has been a great location in my opinion. read more

I've been going to Ulta Beauty to the same stylist for years. A few months back she voiced concern for me getting a perm because it dries my hair. Then we talked about it a month ago, after my last cut, when I asked her to let me know if she would or wouldn't do a perm in a month. She told me yes, by all means she would and she said I should make the appointment. Today was supposed to be that appointment. I was running about 15 minutes late (my own fault) and called apologizing for being late and I wanted to ensure she could still do it. That's when she told me she wasn't doing a perm, not because I was late, but citing her concern about my hair being dry. Her plan was to wait till I got there to tell me. I understand that my hair is dry, but I gave her the option to say no a month ago. Deciding not to talk to me before the moment I'm expecting to get a perm is extremely unprofessional. And, when I told her I thought telling me the day of was a little late Yo drop this on me and her reply was...well you are late for your appointment!!! Really? WOW! Sadly now I need to find a new stylist who cuts my hair like I want. First off for my friends located east of Denver or near DTC, the Corner Star location of Ulta Beauty is easily accessible just off of Arapahoe road and Parker. Second, I just want to preach the importance of a good face wash or eye cream for men. Ulta specifically carries Jack Black brand and Clinique. No Kiehl's products. All in one section and easy to find. As far as service....service? We don't need no stinkin service. I'm a man, I'm not going to ask for help :) Just kidding. The staff seem busy and so I could totally see it being hard to get help here. From the moment I struggled in the door, I knew it was going to be a disaster. The greeter just watched me as I tried to get my double stroller and child in my arms into the store. Another person on the street ran to my rescue, she was actually going into the store herself. THEN the greeter didn't ask if I needed help, only the lady who helped me get inside. I understand that having 3 kids under 5 in a cosmetics store may annoy you, but wouldn't the best way to get my kids out is to actually help me? I walked by this greeter 3 times before I gave up and went to the cashier, Justice, to ask for help. Justice was the only good thing about this store. She quickly answered my question, rang me up, and even helped me out the door. This location has SUPER LOW MAKE UP STOCK. This is the sixth or seventh time I've come here and they don't have any of my make up. I used to buy all of my products here. I was in the area to meet my parents for dinner up the road, and decided to stop at this Ulta on the way. When I walked in, I was pleasantly surprised as this Ulta is significantly larger than other locations in the Denver area, including Park Meadows and University Hills. I noticed that their clearance section seemed to be more expansive as well, something that is always a plus for me. There were no sales associates on the floor, so if I had needed help I would have had to hunt one down, but the employees behind the counter seemed friendly and receptive if this had been the case. read more

The 5 stars is for Kameron at the brow bar! She always does such an amazing job and she is always so welcoming. I do a tint each time and every other visit I get my brows waxed. She shapes them perfectly and always does a wonderful job. To call and schedule an appointment isn't always welcoming. They kind of make it seem like they are too busy and the call is an inconvenience unless it's one of the ladies at the brow bar that answers. Kameron and the other stylist are extremely nice!!
