The staff is pretty friendly but not overly friendly. They will help you if you ask. I just had one or two bad experiences here. I would discuss it but I forgot what it was.. so maybe.. it wasn't that bad. Thank, God! I always come here if I have to get a birthday gift for someone or if they're having a really awesome deal on their nail polish products. Most of the nail polish is located at the back of the store.. well not too back.. almost to the back.. I don't like the way everything in that store is so messy and sometimes the women working there have an attitude problem as well. Oh! Oh! And DO NOT BUY THEIR ULTA body lotion even though it is paraben-free. Also, their ULTA shampoo and conditioner sucks butt, too! If you want to try it out, then word of warning: It will make your hair fall out! And I don't mean a little.. I mean A LOT! So yea.. I had to return those products. This store is brand new and beautiful, BUT the non-prestige section is minimal. Barely any Color Pop, and they don't sell The Ordinary?! Although these are not prestige brands, they are huge sellers and I cannot fathom why they would be left out. As far as prestige goes, they don't have Estée Lauder Double Wear Fresh, a bummer, but I'm used to it. This is all I noticed before I just checked out with my little ABH Brow Definer and left. What ARE you doing ULTA? I'm already trying really hard to come back to you from Sephora because your awards are, well, existent... but if you're going to leave important brands like The Ordinary *mind blown* and Color Pop out, I'm not going to shop at this location (and probably not at ULTA at all) when everything I do buy, I can get at Sephora in one trip. Staff is sweet yet bitter! The girl at the register is always nice, but the people in the store, they never seem to be helpful! I have asked oh do you know where this is, and they reply oh just go to the back of the store you will see it there! I thought to myself, thanks, but you have no other customers to help, I'm asking for you to help me, so can you please show me?! Lol or at times when I have asked help with products they will be like oh I don't know about the different products here! agree with the other reviewers about how they are low on inventory. I bought some shampoos from here on Black Friday, and they had a limited stock that day, went back a few weeks ago, they still had the same limited stock. But I'm glad that we have an all stop beauty need store in the area, I'm just really sad that express closed down for this!!! :-( I miss express! read more

helpful friendly folks at this location. I can always find someone when I need help and no one hovers over you while browsing. They know you're leaving with something so no pressured sales. Great product selection & whatever I can't find in store I can always order online. I never leave here empty handed. I do wish this location had more Shiseido products onsite. CALLED BEFORE I ARRIVED. I wanted to know if they had a certain type of tweezers in stock, the associate confirmed that they did. I got there and they didn't have it. She never went to the back and checked, she just blindly assumed that they had it. I was already disappointed and frustrated but then they acted like there was nothing they could do about it. It was close to closing so I was forced to buy an item that I never intended on getting. I will never go back. I am going to return this item but will do it at a different ULTA. You know how when you walk into a retail store it is customary to greet a person and normally we say we don't need anything, well this time I actually did and the ladies were speaking to each other and COMPLETELY ignoring me as I stood there. I asked someone else for some help and she said she would be right with me, well she never came and I stood watching her continue to help other people back to back. I have a skin condition and I always have a tough time finding the right foundation and this did not help my anxiety at all. After being in the store for about 40 min. Just looking and trying things on, someone came to my rescue, she was sweet but not very helpful. I went with the first thing she showed me (also the most expensive, surprise surprise) and left. NEVER going back there and I felt completely discriminated against. Cried in the car on the way home, thanks ulta staff. read more

I find that Ulta is hit or miss regarding staff. The lady who helped me color match a foundation was lovely and had a delightful sense of humor. However, the gentleman who rang me up was incredibly rude. I purchased a foundation that was about $45, a Naked palette at $54, and some other bits and pieces. All told it came to about $175. Sure, not my cheapest shop, but sometimes a girl has to do what a girl has to do. Well, this young man looked at me, looked at the contents of my bag, and said, "You do know how much this all costs, don't you?" The obvious insinuation was that had I known, I would have realized I was spending above my means. Well goodness me, I wasn't aware I had to present proof of income before I spent my own money. What is the salary range accepted at this store? I'd like to know so that I do not embarrass everyone by attempting to purchase cosmetics that are above my station. Terribly sorry to have inconvenienced the sales assistant, and I'll make sure I only shop somewhere more appropriate for my circumstances going forward. Like Sephora. read more

Even though I am quite use to the Ulta set up, I went into this location looking for one specific item that I'm not particularly familiar with (product-location wise) I wasn't approached nor greeted when I walked into the store. Whom I assume was the manager saw me and only me waiting in line (TO ASK where the item was) and didn't even bother to look at me. I politely said excuse me to the ' beauty advisor' who was on the phone and asked if they carried said product. Her response was attitude filled and at that point I just walked away. I came to purchase a product from Nivea on 3/28/16. The Ulta customer service guy (DYLAN) asked me what I was looking for and I told him. He told me he was going to ask someone because he is new to the store. Today (4/6/16), when I went to return the item he told me not to always come back returning products that I was buying. I didn't think much of it, but it still seemed a bit off. I later on purchase some items today and he was behind the counter. He looked over and said "Do you always come to return stuff? I remember you; you came last time to return too. Get what you know so you don't always come to return." I was shocked and I replied, "I've been coming to this store for many years, I have never seen you before. Last time I came, I saw you for first time and I asked for a product and I remember you had said you are new to this store. That day I came to purchase something, not to return. And today is my second time seeing him and he had the nerve to ask me if I always come to return? By the way, if I don't like something then I will return because according to ULTA POLICY I can return if I am not satisfied with the product. After I said that to him he still didn't apologize. I love Ulta, but this type of customer service was very unexpected, and I don't think I want to purchase anymore from Ulta, also I used to recommend it to my fiancé, my mom, my family members, and my friends but I don't want any of them to receive this type of guest service. Ulta clearly mentioned in their return policy that "RETURNS ARE EASY" but I received "RETURNS ARE INSULTING" if cashier (DYLAN) takes care of you. Today I went to Ulta for hair cut , the lady asked me what cut you want , I said long lair cut , I didn't ask her to do styling? She took me to hair wash , after hair wash , she didn't wipe my hair fully, and she didn't use dryer all over , only few places , she comb my hair , and cut very little at the bottom , that's all that' s the lair cut it seems ? And she curld my hair , and that curl stays only a day, I didn't ask her to do curling? and she charged me 56$ , and she didn't even mention that 10$ off for the cut, I saw the cards that 10$ off , I showed her she said ,oh sorry I forgot? I really don't understand the negative reviews of here but I hate that people experienced this. I can not speak of any of the salon services as I have never had that done. I have never had any issues at this location. Sales associates were super friendly to me at check out. I have had a few recognize me as at one point I was coming in daily (I know) and point out new items they have received. No one has ever asked me if I need help but then again I don't care if someone does or not when shopping for beauty/skincare. The sales are really good at this location. The selection is really good and items are usually in stock when I go to look. Any time an item is out of stock in store, they have been able to order it for me. I have also done returns and exchanges here with no problem. You don't even need your receipt if you are a Ulta Rewards member. Plenty of parking outside as it is located in the Forum shopping plaza. read more

I'm not one to write reviews at all. As a matter of fact this is the first review I've ever written on Yelp. But my recent experience with Ulta Beauty was extremely disappointing. I scheduled an appointment online to have my hair cut. Not color, nothing crazy, just a simple cut after I got off work. I received a confirmation email after booking the appointment with Adrianna. I worked late and walked over for my scheduled time. I waited a little bit by the salon part of the store but no one was around. I finally went up to a store worker to tell her about my appointment. She told me "I'm not sure what happened but she left. I can reschedule you for tomorrow with someone else." What was most unprofessional to me is that no one even gave me a courtesy call to let me know. I could have easily booked somewhere else or tried another day. Not only was it rude but inconsiderate. be advised they don't have people with experience in manicure, this review is only for manicure, especific for opi gel mani. I went for a opi gel french, and the girl did a horrible job, something unacceptable. But she was sweet and very nice and because is christmas time too so i left 40% tip. I did not want to embarras her in front of other clients so i talked to the manager, who inmediately agreed on fix the manicure the next day. the next day the same girl fix my mani to one color, the job was a little bit better but with imperfections (another 40% tip for her time). I love that Ulta is so close to where I live and I no longer need to order my make-up online. However, the past few times I have visited the store the wait at the check-out was just ridiculous. The first time no one was at the counter. 4_+ registers and no employee. It was later in the day and the store was not busy. Eventually someone came to help me and the people behind me and she was very nice and personable. During my most recent visit there was a decent amount of people in the store and a number of employees working at different counters. I've worked retail in the past and I know that you may be assigned a particular job during a shift, say the make-up area or the brow area, and that is where you are to stay. There was one woman behind the register helping a customer with questions about her payment or something like that. I waited, understanding that she was busy and I would be seen to as soon as she was done. Five minutes goes by and she is still helping the other customer and a line has formed behind me. Suddenly one of the employees, who was in a conversation with another customer, loudly says from across the room, "Young lady, I am not working the register so I'm afraid I can't help you". (With attitude) Honestly, I was not even aware that I was being spoken to until I looked over in their direction. In the time that I was waiting I did not once look to this person expecting to be helped nor did I make a comment about having to wait. I did not make a fuss. I didn't stomp my foot like a child or huff and puff at the fact that I had been waiting for more than 5 minutes. In return I said, "That's ok, I understand". It was extremely rude and uncalled for. I was embarrassed and confused as to why someone would do that. The women behind me were just as taken aback as I was. That is no way to treat a paying customer. Find a fellow employee to let them know that help is needed up front. And yes, I could have left my place in line to find someone to check me out but I shouldn't have to do that. If the customer service continues to be this poor I don't think I will return to this store. read more

The young lady that originally greeted me was rather sweet. It was her first day and she was still learning so she called for help over the headset. She was ignored for at least five minutes and when the manager finally responded, she treated the girl like she was an idiot. She went on to say that she had no idea why one of her employees was working on a task with the products spread around her on the floor (way unprofessional to make a comment like that to a customer). She told me to stand in some department (second one I was sent to) and not to move and that she'd be right back. She was gone for at least 7 minutes. When she returned, the manager went on to question me about why I would want the type of foundation I did (I know I'm not an expert on makeup but don't treat me like I'm stupid. Maybe try to teach me about different types of make up instead.) Once I was sent to the third place in the store for the same type of product, it seemed like the manager was trying to get rid of me at that point so she was just trying to push a product on me so I would be on my way. I like the product but the experience was subpar. Manger-- treat your employees with more respect and maybe they will do better. I felt embarrassed for them. read more

Ok, so I went into this store because I just moved to the Norcross area almost a year ago. I've had good experiences at this store, with the ladies at the counter who ring up your purchases. I had a bad experience with one of the employees who worked out on the floor. It was right when the store opened on a Saturday. I heard someone ask her for help with the Benefit makeup. She very rudely told the lady that the makeup specialist was not in yet and she would have to wait. In the meantime, I was attempting to look at some of their Tarte products and that same girl was re-stocking the shelves where I was trying to look and I actually could not get to the products that I was looking for. On one hand, I totally understand needing to do your job, but she did not even say hello or acknowledge me or anything at all!! I work in customer service in a totally different industry, but good customer service is good customer service and bad customer service is bad customer service. If you want repeat business or if you want people to come back to your store, most people like to be at least acknowledged!! This was very rude how she treated me and the other customer as well. It is questionable if I will go back to this store or not. If I am in a good mood, I might try giving them another chance. read more

They are SO understaffed and what are those people doing that they are calling on their headphones that never appear. Some of them also need better training and way more people at the registers. Also some of the people that work there (the cashier) needs to cut the attitude. I am a platinum member and probably spend over $1000 there every year. But if they don't do something about the staff I am taking my business to Sephora. As for right now I will be shopping at Sephora because I can't deal with them. I guess I will now become a VIP at Sephora instead of their dumb platinum membership!! I had a terrible experience tonight and it has frustrated me to no end.
